<p style="margin-bottom:0;text-align:justify;">The Dig está considerada por moitos coma unha das obras mestras do xénero, eu non podo por máis que disentir. Anacrónicos gráficos, gran deseño de fondos e infame resolución nos personaxes (sabemos que algunha cousa está viva porque se move, pero quen sabe onde remata o cu e comeza a cabeza). Sobresaliente no apartado musical, un argumento excesivamente lineal (non é sinxelo desprenderse da linearidade cando un tenta contar unha historia máis ou menos complexa) e desastrosa en canto a quebracabezas. Se che gusta Spielberg xógaa, se non, déixaa correr.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0;text-align:justify;">O xogo ten cousas boas, pero afúndense polo feito de que isto non é unha aventura gráfica, é unha película frustrada. Impórtanme pouco os procesos comerciais, incluso os antecedentes, se trato aquí os xogos é para sacarlles algunha ensinanza, pero farei un par de apuntamentos. Tras de Dig está o afamado cineasta Steven Spielberg (non descubro nada se digo que non é santo da miña devoción, pero iso non ten nada que ver). Spielberg tiña unha idea para facer un episodio de <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088478/">Steven Spielberg&#8217;s Amazing Stories</a>, que non se puido levar a cabo, tentou reconducila á realización dun filme pero a cousa requiría dun elevado presuposto, e como daquela algúns viron a posibilidade de facer os seus filmes de forma moito máis barata en forma de aventura, alá foi o de Ohio. Pero as aventuras gráficas e o cine son artes ben distintas.</p>

Refírome a unha particularización da maneira de aprendizaxe, non estou falando de que teño que facer unha fogueira e probo a facer lume cunha lupa, pero non hai sol suficiente, polo que opto pola fricción ou etc. etc. estou falando de abrir caixas fortes sen saber a combinación, probando tódalas posicións ata que un atina por casualidade. Así funcionan as pontes de luz, hai que manipular a lente, mudando a posición e probar ata que traballa o invento. Xa resulta pesado e estúpido unha vez, pero se o temos que repetir catro veces máis&#8230;</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0;text-align:justify;">Outro exemplo é o do dispositivo dos cristais que temos que acender subindo e baixando unhas barras, e cuestión de ir probando, non supón ningún reto, é outro elemento retardador máis (é o que ten facer dunha historia deseñada para hora e media de película, unha aventura gráfica que pretenda entreter durante horas ao xogador).</p>

The Dig cúmpreo, a medias. Se fas algo que pode non saír ben, tes que te-la posibilidade de repetilo, neste caso tela. Tamén é admisible o fracaso, hai quebracabezas que poden estar deseñados de maneira que se non acertas no procedemento a cousa non funcione, pero só se ese fracaso nos ensina a conseguir o éxito. Sobre a tartaruga extraterrestre vemos un éxito e un fracaso no deseño.<strong> </strong></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0;text-align:justify;">O monstro mariño, gourmet el, despois de papar unha especie de tartaruga cuspe as partes duras na beira. Cando pasamos o cursor este muda a azul, algunha acción poderemos facer con eles, clicando chegamos a un primeiro plano da osamenta, vemos que se pode xogar co desordenado conxunto de ósos, lembramos entón, que non lonxe había un fósil na rocha que nos pode guiar á hora da reconstrución. Aínda que pode darse o caso de que non saibamos o porqué de facelo, sabemos que hai que reconstruílo, polo feito de que nos deixa facelo. Se o xogador xa sabe o que facer (poñer os ósos no seu sitio), se sabe como guiarse (fósil), debería poder facelo sen problemas. Pero non, o quebracabezas está tan mal deseñado que sabendo o que e o como, o máis probable é que o reconstruamos mal. A estas alturas do xogo sabemos que as pedriñas verdes, serven para devolver a bechos varios (humanos incluídos) á vida, así que unha vez cremos ter reconstruído o esqueleto, dámoslle vida, a ver que pasa. Pois o que pasará é que terá unha penosa vida, algo non está no seu sitio, tras unha curta vida de sufrimento espichará desfacéndose a súa carne coma bruxa duchada. Que pasou?, pois que o quebracabezas permite moitas posicións para cada óso e o fósil só nos dá unha idea de como teñen que sobresaír da proxección da cuncha, pero non como se orientan. Así, aínda que cada peza estivera no seu sitio, se a colocamos no sentido contrario, o animaliño vai ter un penoso final. Cada vez que fracasamos, os ósos vólvense espallar tendo que comezar de cero, co que é máis que probable que o xogador opte por gardar a partida, probar esta peza neste outro senso e volver a dar vida, que morre, non era así, cargamos, que vive, xa era hora! <span style="font-weight:bold;">Se o xogador sabe o que facer e como, ten que poder facelo sen máis atrancos, se non é así, fracasaches coma deseñador.</span></p>

Unha vez que ao revivírmo-la  nosa pseudotartaruga, esta non fenece horriblemente por desaxustes internos, remata entre os dentes dun primo estranxeiro de Nessie, que volve cuspi-los ósos, hai quen renace con estrela e quen&#8230;</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0;text-align:justify;">Merda, outra vez a empezar!, vale, pero agora polo menos, se non caéramos antes, sabemos o que facer e temos unha idea de o como. Hai que matar ao monstro acuático para buscar no fondo, aceptando certa lóxica peliculeira (non é razoable pensar que pode haber máis?), sospeitamos que o desafortunado réptil nos axudará no noso propósito. Poñemos aquel estraño aparello (quen ía pensar que sacariamos proveito de algo aprendido nun museo) dentro do pobre diaño, dámoslle vida, caboom e a nadar. Este si é un bo exemplo de quebracabezas no que aínda que erremos á primeira, serviranos de ensinanza para a segunda. A clave do ensaio e erro é que <span style="font-weight:bold;">aprendamos facendo mal as cousas</span>.</p>

Xa dixemos que isto era un filme, nunha hora e trinta minutos estaría ventilado, pero non é asumible pagar o que custaba na época o xogo, para ter hora e media de diversión. Así que temos uns quebracabezas terriblemente repetitivos (anda que non copiamos veces ao longo do xogo as figuriñas de colorinchos nos paneis) e unhas camiñadas terribles. Paréceme xenial que se amosen certos paraxes nos que non teñamos nada que facer a primeira vez que pasamos por eles, incluso ambientan, pero pasarse o xogo de aquí para aló, recorrendo ducias de veces escenarios evitables&#8230; por Dioscristo!, non vos di nada a palabra elipse?!</p>

<title><![CDATA[Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Um viva ao Yoda com sabre-de-luz]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[Recentemente, obtive, joguei e terminei um dos jogos da franquia Star Wars mais esperados dos último]]></description>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Recentemente, obtive, joguei e terminei um dos jogos da franquia <em>Star Wars</em> mais esperados dos últimos anos. Produzido, como de costume, pela <em>LucasArts</em> (pertencente ao grupo da <em>Lucasfilms</em> e, por extensão final, ao Papai Papudo George Lucas) e lançado em setembro de 2008, <strong><em>The Force Unleashed</em></strong> causou um certo furor por alguns certos motivos. O game chegou para o PC com seu conteúdo expandido, intitulado <em>Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition</em> apenas em novembro de 2009.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Parte do <em>frisson</em> supramencionado vem do dito revolucionário <em>engine</em> do jogo. Aliado ao <em>Havok</em>, que relaciona peso e integridade dos objetos, tem-se o sistema <em>Euphoria</em>, responsável pela reação dos personagens não-jogadores ao serem arremessados, eletrocutados ou o que seja, e também o sistema <em>DMM </em>(sigla para <em>Digital Molecular Matter</em>), que simula o material do qual são feitos os objetos e como reagem a ações contra eles. Por exemplo, um vidro estilhaça como um vidro, e um metal amassa como metal, com a aplicação da mesma força sobre eles. Desenvolvido pela empresa <em>Pixelux</em>, o sistema DMM já está sendo adotado por uma infinidade de jogos eletrônicos.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Com essa <em>engine</em> curiosa e inovadora, o mote do jogo entra no cenário: teoricamente, seria “a Força como nunca se viu antes” ou coisa do gênero; correlativo, evidentemente, ao próprio nome, <em>The Force Unleashed</em>, “A Força Livre” ou, mais literalmente, “Livre de Grilhões”. Só isso já atraiu os olhos sedentos de uma legião de gamers ao redor do globo, que queriam ver a “Força com força total”, com cenários e personagens reagindo à dita cuja. Enfim, para atrair os fãs de <em>Star Wars</em> houve o toque final: o enredo do jogo é canônico de acordo com George Lucas, e vale para a história da Saga.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">O jogo tem como aspecto principal uma aventura em terceira pessoa, situada entre os episódios III (A Vingança dos Sith – o final da nova trilogia) e IV (Uma Nova Esperança – o começo da trilogia clássica). Você assume o controle de <em>Starkiller</em>, o aprendiz secreto de Darth Vader e assassino/espião sith do Império. Após uma missão de caça a um Jedi em Kashyyyk, Lorde Vader encontra um Starkiller ainda pequeno – filho do Jedi que acabou de eliminar – mas sente a Força poderosa nele, e o toma sob sua tutela. Crescido e treinado para usar o Lado Negro, Starkiller torna-se parte de uma conspiração que envolverá o Imperador em pessoa e a formação concreta da Aliança Rebelde.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Tecnicamente, o game marca presença por exuberância gráfica. A recriação de personagens e os cenários que acabam mesclando estéticas de ambas trilogias cinematográficas são de deixar boquiaberto qualquer bom apreciador da arte de se fazer jogos, e com certeza contribuem para o <em>feeling</em> de Star Wars que todo bom jogo da franquia deveria ter. O personagem principal muda de roupa a cada missão, e todas elas tem uma aparência interessante, que também mistura aspectos novos e velhos. A ambientação e imersão são auxiliadas por efeitos sonoros excelentes e uma trilha sonora incrível, que sempre remete aos temas clássicos que todos conhecem.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">O uso dos poderes da Força, para um videogame, é bastante fascinante. E graças aos <em>engines</em> utilizados na programação, eles sozinhos já proporcionam um espetáculo visual. Contudo, o jogo peca com uma dificuldade irregular e com uma câmera que muitas vezes atrapalha a movimentação e jogabilidade, principalmente nas batalhas contra os chefes de fases. Durante o desenvolvimento da história existem alguns quebra-cabeças bastante fáceis de resolver, contudo, mesmo indo não muito além do “matar, pilhar e destruir”, ainda mais com uma razoável gama de poderes, o jogo é divertido e pode garantir algumas horas de distração.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Todavia, o problema entra nos termos do enredo (prepare-se, eu não vou controlar a exposição de <em>spoilers</em>). A história do game em si não é ruim – apesar de poder ter sido bem melhor – mas ela infere no cerne da trilogia clássica de Star Wars e acaba alterando, em muitas vezes para pior, alguns conceitos que tínhamos como certos. E, mesmo sendo Universo Expandido, o fato de ser legitimado pelo próprio George Lucas nos obriga, em tese, a rever uma porção de coisas a respeito da amada saga. Coisas que, muitas vezes, é melhor que se deixem intocadas. E os probleminhas de desenvolvimento vão todos remeter a isso: ao fato da história agora ser canônica e que algumas coisas não devem ser alteradas.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Para começo de conversa, o personagem principal, Starkiller, é excessivamente poderoso. Mesmo. Seu domínio da Força é tão grande e absoluto que ele mescla combos de sabre-de-luz com telecinésia e consegue “carregar” a lâmina luminosa com a “eletricidade da Força”. Ele também é capaz de destruir cenários inteiros com um simples empurrão em todas as direções, amassar AT-STs como se fossem isopor, arremessar Tie Fighters como bolinhas de tênis e até mesmo derrubar um Imperial Star Destroyer usando apenas a Força. Mesmo outros jogos da franquia Star Wars, como <em>Jedi Knight</em>, <em>Jedi Outcast</em> e <em>Jedi Academy</em>, que tinham claras demonstrações do uso da Força, não foram tão exagerados.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Evidentemente, como eu disse ali em cima, em um jogo isso funciona. Bem demais, até. Essa sensação de poder dificilmente ficaria chata enquanto jogamos. Mas o problema começa ao colidir com a Força como nós a víamos antes. Em momento algum vemos qualquer personagem fazer algo minimamente parecido com as façanhas de Starkiller. Nem representantes que sabemos ter um conhecimento e domínio da Força ridiculamente alto; superior ao de Starkiller, inclusive, como Yoda, e ainda que o Lado Negro seja mais&#8230; “purpurinado”, nunca vimos o Imperador Palpatine atuar de tal forma, também.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Isso atrapalha na própria conceituação da Força. Ela deixa de ser algo místico e misterioso, que remete ao entendimento da vida e da morte e de algo intangível, uma filosofia e uma fé, e torna-se uma demonstração inconseqüente de superpoderes. Levamo-nos a questionar como é possível que os Jedi tenham sido exterminados por meros clones, quando na realidade são supersoldados capazes de feitos absolutamente sobre-humanos. É um exemplo da supremacia do Yoda piruletante com um sabre-de-luz à mão a um Yoda calmo, reflexivo e sábio. Culpa, em parte, de George Lucas e seus malditos <em>midichlorians</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ainda, o enredo do jogo introduz novas idéias à história que foram feitas de maneira descuidada. Ele credita a criação da Aliança Rebelde como uma manipulação do Império para tentar abater todos os seus inimigos de uma só vez. Apesar do conceito em si não ser de todo mal, a sua execução poderia ter sido melhor. A reunião de todos os futuros líderes da Aliança fica em cargo de um já conflituoso Starkiller, que numa rara interessante reviravolta do enredo e numa reversão ao lugar-comum, está “caindo para o Lado da Luz”.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1083" title="Allyourfriendsandallmyfriendsinthealleytonight" src="http://aosugo.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/allyourfriendsandallmyfriendsinthealleytonight.png" alt="Allyourfriendsandallmyfriendsinthealleytonight" width="497" height="302" /></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Enganado por Vader e pelo Imperador, que capturam a futura liderança da Aliança – nomes como Mon Mothma, Bail Organa e a princesa Léia fulguram entre os coadjuvantes – o vingativo Starkiller persegue seus antigos mestres até a quase completa e em fase de testes Estrela da Morte (numa missão decepcionante, devo acrescentar). É ali que se tem o desafio final: salvar seus novos amiguinhos. Você confronta Vader e, após uma longa batalha, derruba – usando a Força, claro – uma infinidade de artefatos mecânicos da Estrela da Morte sobre o Lorde Sith.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Neste ponto, você pode escolher entre o final <em>core</em>, canônico e bonitinho ou o final <em>motherfucker</em> e alternativo. No final alternativo, você segue o confronto com Vader e o destrói. No CG que se segue, o Imperador o parabeniza e ordena que execute o Mestre Kota, um Jedi sobrevivente à Ordem 66 e que faz parte, segundo o jogo, da futura liderança da Aliança. Ao invés disso, Starkiller tenta atacar o Imperador, apenas para ser rechaçado e ter seu corpo quase inteiramente destruído. O CG segue com Starkiller sendo reerguido como uma espécie de “Vader 2.0 Diplomata Turbo”, e com o Imperador dizendo que agora você está sob seu comando, e quando o momento chegar, você será substituído. É com este Starkiller que você executa duas das missões adicionais que a <em>Ultimate Sith Edition</em> traz: Tatooine e Hoth (que são bem legais, até).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">No final canônico você precisa enfrentar o Imperador em pessoa, e após uma batalha decepcionante (chefes de missões anteriores eram muito mais desafiadores), segue o CG do sacrifício de Starkiller para salvar Mon Mothma, Bail Organa e afins. Reclusos, eles decidem “continuar o que Starkiller começou” [!!!!], leia-se a Aliança Rebelde, e adotam como estandarte o símbolo heráldico da família do falecido.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Mesmo o enredo não sendo tão ruim assim – é até bacana creditar a formação da Aliança a um Jedi – acrescentar estas coisas na história acabam sendo um tiro no pé. Faria sentido Starkiller ser um personagem que ninguém conhecesse se ele continuasse como assassino sith e aprendiz secreto de Vader e morresse assassino sith e aprendiz secreto de Vader.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Contudo, a partir do momento em que ele exerce um papel tão fundamental na formação da Aliança Rebelde – ao ponto do símbolo de sua família ser o estandarte da coligação – entra o questionamento: por que nunca ninguém ouviu falar nesse cara? Temos aí um Jedi, um cara que cacetou o Vader, que tinha um domínio ridiculamente incomum sobre a Força e que foi o responsável pela formação da facção que derrubou o Império e restaurou a República Galática. Ele seria um grande herói para a Nova República e mereceria, no mínimo, uma nota de rodapé pelos seus feitos. Ele é o primeiro mártir da Aliança. E então, cadê ele?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">No final das contas, <em>The Force Unleashed</em> é o domínio do estilo sobre o conteúdo, da demonstração da tecnologia sobre o enredo e sobre a falta de cuidado do Universo Expandido, e do próprio George Lucas, em acrescentar novas idéias à história dos filmes que começaram tudo em primeiro lugar. Um problema que ocorre muito mais freqüentemente após a nova trilogia – Episódios I, II e III – que demonstraram pouco cuidado do próprio criador da franquia em enriquecer a história. Como jogo, realmente, funciona, entretanto, exemplos como <em>Dark Forces</em>, jogo lançado em 1995, mostram claramente que é possível combinar boa jogabilidade com um enredo bem encaixado e interessante, sem destituir Star Wars de conceitos que a transformaram numa das mais bem-sucedidas franquias multimídia de todos os tempos.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron este al 4-lea joc din seria Star Wars Battlefront, titlul urmand sa fie lansat de LucasArts pe 3 noiembrie 2009. Elite Squadron este dezvoltat de Rebellion Developments si N-Space, urmand sa fie disponibil doar pentru Nintendo DS si PSP.<img src="http://www.wizoo.ro/jocuri/actiune2/poze/138.jpeg" alt="" /></p>
<p>In campaign-mode, jucatorii vor controla o clona, numita X2, care a fost creata din ADN-ul unui Jedi. Deasemenea, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader,The Emperor, Darth Maul si Kit Fisto vor fi personaje jucabile.</p>
<p>Din punct de vedere al campaniei principale, varianta pentru PSP va avea 12 misiuni, pe cand varianta pentru Nintendo DS va avea 11 misiuni. Jucatorii vor duce luptele pe pamant, in vehicule de teren si in spatiu, fiind primul joc al seriei care va da ocazia jucatorilor sa decoleze de la sol si sa ia parte la bataliile spatiale.</p>
<p>Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron va avea si un multiplayer, care va suporta 16 jucatori pentru PSP, respectiv 4 jucatori pentru Nintendo DS. </p>

<p>I remember a time when LucasArts used to represent fun. <a href="http://www.mobygames.com/game/star-wars-x-wing" target="_blank">X-Wing</a>, The Secret of Monkey Island, <a href="http://www.grim-fandango.com/">Grim Fandango</a>, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, these games were all near-perfectly designed in their construction, critical classics of the Nineties and, most importantly, an absolute blast to play. The millennium ruined that. Personally I blame <a href="http://www.angelfire.com/movies/oc/tirades/starwarsexcuses.html" target="_blank">The Phantom Menace</a>, after which LucasArts simply stopped innovating and decided to pump out a bunch of shameless Star Wars cash-ins that never touched the dizzy heights of their decade old big brothers. They&#8217;re not stupid either: after finally realising that all their best staff had jumped ship (bye-bye Sam &#38; Max, au revoir Tim Schafer), LucasArts simply went back and made a load of their old games shinier for re-release on XBLA and Steam.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Games - The SCUMM of the Universe]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[Recently, I discovered Steam had both &#8220;The Curse of Monkey Island&#8221; and &#8220;The Dig]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Recently, I discovered Steam had both &#8220;The Curse of Monkey Island&#8221; and &#8220;The Dig&#8221;, two games I&#8217;d forgotten I wanted to play so badly back in the &#8217;90s, when my mom got me a LucasArts multipack featuring three of their adventure games.  Now, thanks to Valve, I got to download them, play them&#8230;and realize why point-and-click adventure games died off in the first place.</p>
<p>To be fair, &#8220;Monkey Island&#8221; remains pretty wackily funny, and &#8220;The Dig&#8221; is a genuinely compelling science fiction story, with dialogue written by a pre-crazy-and-egotistical Orson Scott Card.  The story is really what drives these games&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230;Which is really, as much as it kills me to admit this, kind of the problem.  Part of the reason adventure gaming died off in the first place was the problem of running around with a massive inventory, and when you got stuck, using everything in the inventory against whatever hot spot was highlighted.  It was puzzle solving not by using your brain, but rather by brute force, and the &#8220;wacky&#8221; games were by far the worst offenders.  People kept playing because they wanted to laugh or find out what happens next (I beat &#8220;The Dig&#8221; in a day because of a massive marathon session).</p>
<p>&#8220;Monkey Island&#8221;, as funny as it is, is a great example.  Very, very often in the game you&#8217;ll find yourself completely stuck, usually because you have to run back and forth between various locations to do ONE task and then return.  It&#8217;s boring and the only reason you don&#8217;t quit the game is you want to know what happens next.  But it&#8217;s irritating, and often you&#8217;ll find yourself checking the guide only to find you&#8217;ve essentially solved the puzzle, you&#8217;re just not clicking on the right hotspot.  Or even worse, that the puzzle either is completely illogical for the sake of a bad pun, or it&#8217;s totally logical and there&#8217;s no way, outside the hint system, that you&#8217;re ever going to know there&#8217;s even a puzzle for you to solve in the first place.  I like puns, but I also like brain-teasers I have a chance of solving.</p>
<p>In other words, the game story is a blast, but the gameplay itself is terrible.  &#8220;The Dig&#8221; is less frustrating for any number of reasons, the most obvious being six years of experience building these games taught the designers a few lessons about how to design these games to keep the flow going, but it&#8217;s still got its share of &#8220;Wait, what the hell?&#8221; moments.  It&#8217;s also got a certain charm; like many adventure games, you&#8217;re lost in an alien world with no aliens around to help you, so you have to figure out their technology for yourself.  Anybody who&#8217;s played &#8220;Myst&#8221; remembers how fun/frustrating THAT can be.</p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t to say I don&#8217;t think the point-and-click adventure game is a dead genre, or deserves to be.  I&#8217;ll probably download &#8220;Loom&#8221; and the early Indy adventure games in the near future simply because I love games that ask you to explore.  My point is simply that a lot less work went into the puzzle design than into the story.  Solving a puzzle really shouldn&#8217;t be trial and error.</p>
<p>I want more point-and-click adventure games.  I just want them to be a LOT more intuitive.</p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#008080;">LOOM - LucasFilm Games - 1990 &#8211; Aventura / Puzzle</span></strong></p>
<p>Al inicio de la década de los 90, <strong>LucasFilm Games</strong> (después llamada LucasArts) comenzó a forjar su leyenda con títulos como <strong>Loom</strong>, una auténtica obra maestra del género de Aventura. El juego contaría con diversas versiones para P.C. (EGA, VGA) y Amiga, mejorándose en sucesivas versiones la gama de colores, la calidad de los efectos del sonido y la música. Pensemos en una época en la que lo normal era el formato MIDI, y una tarjeta Adlib o Roland eran un auténtico lujo.</p>
<p>En <strong>Loom</strong> nos poníamos en la piel de <strong>Bobbin Threadbare </strong>(nombrecito &#8220;marca de la casa&#8221;), un joven miembro del enigmático gremio de los hiladores, en sus viajes por los dominios de los otros gremios en busca de sus compañeros perdidos, que se habían transformado ante sus ojos en cisnes y habían emprendido el rumbo hacia otro mundo para huir del cataclismo que se avecinaba.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" style="margin-left:0;margin-right:0;" title="Loom" src="http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx182/SigBCN2/gametraveller/Loom/Loom3.jpg" alt="" width="245" height="184" /> <img class="alignnone" style="margin-left:0;margin-right:0;" title="Loom" src="http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx182/SigBCN2/gametraveller/Loom/Loom4.jpg" alt="" width="245" height="184" /></strong></p>
<p><strong>Bobbin</strong> viajará por el mundo de Loom tan solo ayudado por su bastón de mago, sobre el que irán apareciendo una serie de notas musicales a medida que progresemos en el juego, y que nos permitirán realizar diferentes hechizos para superar los obstáculos que encontremos a nuestro camino. Como vemos en las capturas de pantalla, ni siquiera disponíamos del célebre sistema <strong>SCUMM</strong> para interactuar con nuestro entorno durante el juego, sino simplemente con las notas musicales que hubiéramos aprendido en nuestros viajes.</p>
<p><img class="alignright" style="margin-left:10px;margin-right:0;" title="Loom" src="http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx182/SigBCN2/gametraveller/Loom/Loom5.jpg" alt="" width="245" height="184" />Ni que decir tiene que el juego es una auténtica delicia a nivel de historia, ambientación, originalidad y diversión, a pesar de tener como único punto negativo quizá su escasa duración y su reducida dificultad. De hecho, nuestro personaje no podía morir nunca durante la aventura, algo característico en los clásicos de LucasArts a diferencia de otras célebres sagas de aventuras como las de Sierra (en las que lo normal era morir a cada momento).</p>
<p>Hay que remarcar también la utilización en el juego de la fantástica música de <strong>El lago de los cisnes</strong>, de <strong>Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky</strong>, que le dota de un encanto aún mayor del que tiene ya por sí mismo.</p>
<p>Recomiendo encarecidamente este gran juego a pesar de los años transcurridos, en especial para todos aquellos que busquen un juego de Aventuras realmente inteligente, con puzzles muy bien planteados y resueltos, y no con la inexistente lógica de la que tantas veces hacen gala los juegos de este género hoy en día.</p>

<p><strong>Star Wars, csak más szemszögből</strong></p>
<p>A Star Wars eddig sem volt happy festésű, de tény, hogy teljesen más az egész. A Republic Commando egyik nagy erőssége, a sajátos, teljesen egyedi és gyilkos, sötét hangulata. Egy osztag vezére vagy, 3 katona áll a rendelkezésedre. Mind a testvéreid. Néha a rettenetes egyedülléttel kell az ellenfelekkel szembeszállnod, de az esetek többségében az osztagod kíséretében. Mindegy melyik helyzetben vagy, a józanész elengedhetetlen, elég ha te, vagy a testvéred kerül a földre(majd elmagyarázom), az egész küldetés veszélybe kerül. Nem szabad hibát ejteni. A terep felmérése roppant fontos.</p>

<p><strong>Taktikai FPS</strong></p>
<p>Nem a legkomolyabb, de az. A katonákat külön felállásba, egy kijelölt területre elküldheted, vagy ha nincs olyan, akkor ők keresnek fedezéket. Küldheted őket előre, egy pontra, fedezhetnek téged, vagy abbahagyhatod az összes eddig kért parancsot. A kijelölt helyek között van Sniper, Gránát(többféle) és páncéltörő pozíció. Mindezek mellett utasíthatod őket gépek feltörésére, bombák lerakására, hogy egy ellenfélre koncentráljanak, vagy hogy gyógyítsák magukat. </p>

<p>A parancsokból talán nincs sok, de bőven elég egy ütős taktika kidolgozásához. Néhányan azt mondják, nem kell ide ez, pedig szerintem ez nem igaz. A játék Hard módban a legjobb, ahol bizony kell egy kis taktika, hogy hogyan intézd el a droidokat, trandoshanokat vagy Geenosisokat. Van egy pálya, ami időre megy. A pálya végére muszáj hagynod legalább másfél percet, hogy oda küldj valakit a panelhez, lerakjátok a csapdákat, és kitakarítsátok a terepet az ellenfél erősítésének megérkezése előtt. Mindezek mellett ügyelned kell arra, hogy senki se esik el a csapatodból, ha még is megtörténik, sürgősen segítened kell neki, ugyan is rajtad kívül mindenkinek fontos a pozícióján maradni.</p>

<p><strong>Történet…?</strong></p>
<p>Nem azt mondom, hogy nincs, de tény, hogy nem sok, pont elég. Mint az elején meséltem, egy kommandós osztag vezetője vagy a Klónok Háborújában, és van három testvéred: Sev, Schorch és Fixer. Sev a mesterlövészed, aki minden ellenfélnek nekiront, Schorch a bombaszakértőd, ő tartja mindenkiben a lelket, Fixer pedig a szakink, ő figyelmezteti a csapatot, hogy mindenek előtt a küldetés.</p>
<p>“Quit the Chatter, Deltas!”</p>
<p>Fixer a többieknek, mikor a rádiót használják.</p>
<p>Szerintem a játék nagyon összpontosít a testvéri összefogásra, meg amúgy érezzük is, hogy milyen közel állnak egymáshoz. Mindenki egy egyéniség, Sev és Schorch folyton egymást szívatják, Fixer pedig pont ezt akarja mindig megakadályozni. Te, Boss (38-as) Jango Fett-re hasonlítasz a legjobban, de ez lényegében rajtad áll hogy mennyire vagy kedves hozzájuk, és a többi és a többi.</p>

<p><strong>Grafika, Zene, Hang</strong></p>
<p>A Republic Commando az akkor híres, divatos Unreal Engine 2-t használja, egész szépen. Szép, gyönyörű fémes, olykor nyirkos, lehangoló színek, és tökéletes modellek. Az animáció magáért beszél, persze, itt is van tesztbábu effektus. A játék legszebb grafikai pontja a bump mapping, ami az új videokártyákon nem működik.</p>
<p>A játé zenéi és hangjai kiemelkedőek, öröm őket hallani. Minden helyszínen felcsendül az ismert Star Wars zenék egyike, vagy a Republic Commando saját költeményei. Hangulatosak, és tényleg, a játékos fölkapja a fejét hogy “ACTION VAN!” , és lelket önt belé. A hangeffekteket ötletesen oldották meg, mint pl.: a geenosis fegyver hangját. A fegyver kemény, és kopogó hangot ad ki töltéskor, ezért ezt úgy oldották meg, hogy a hölgy fölvett öt hosszú (fém?) körmöt, amit egy műanyag, üreges labdán kopogtatott.</p>
<p><strong>Extrák</strong></p>
<p>Mert ezek is vannak, sajnos igen kevés. A játék kipörgetése után (közben) kapunk kis videókat, hogy hogyan készült a játék. A videók között ott van hogy hogyan vették föl a hangeffekteket, a zene, a karakter desing (amiben maga George Lucas segített!) és hogy hogyan csinálta az animációs csapat a dolgokat. Minden animátor egy teljesen igazi, vérbeli kiképzésen vett részt, ugyan is muszáj volt átérezniük, pontosabban megtudniuk, hogy hogyan mozog, és mit tesz egy kommandós.</p>
<p><strong>Végszó</strong></p>
<p>A Star Wars Republic Commando egy felejthetetlen élmény, igazi, eredeti, verhetetlen hangulattal, és szórakoztató játékmenettel. Egy rossz pillanata sincs játéknak amire azt merném mondani, hogy nem volt olyan jó. A játék mind végig tartotta a színvonalát, egyszer sem hagyott az akcióból, és végre igazi klón kommandósnak érezhettem magam!</p>

<title><![CDATA[Episode 7: A New, New Hope]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The first time I came to the United States was partly to see Star Wars: The Phantom Menace on its opening weekend. My friends and I positively bubbled with The Force as we were treated to the classic logo, the crawl and the genius of John Williams.</p>
<p>Initially I could even forgive Jar-Jar&#8217;s annoying presence, the stilted dialogue, and all the small things that were included to get in the way of the dreamed return of greatness.</p>
<p>Darth Maul was a genuine villain worthy of the saga&#8217;s ambition and Liam Neeson mainly pulled off the task of being the Jedi Master who could have prevented all the despair that was to follow, even if the script got in his way at times.</p>
<p>The glow faded away though as time wore on, the flaws became harder to ignore and the next film confirmed that Lucas was too busy playing with new toys at ILM to pay too much attention to character and plot.</p>

<p>The dirge of Attack of The Clones really was horrific and the sporadic successes of Revenge of The Sith couldn;t make up for the ham-necked-fistedness that Lucas brought to his creation.</p>
<p>The 3D extended television episode of The Clone Wars deepened the feeling that a Tauntaun was being flogged post mortem, particularly with the excruciating character Ahsoka Tano who speaks like a 50 year old trying to hang out with their teenage daughter&#8217;s friends.</p>

<p>I found myself wondering if I would ever be excited about a Star Wars project again, mainly due to my wife becoming gloriously addicted to the Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga game on the X-Box 360. The game is a lot of fun, particularly the parts dedicated to the original trilogy, I found my Star Wars denial fading only very slightly.</p>
<p>But then, a powerful disturbance occured&#8230;</p>

<p>The Knights of The Old Republic games were engrossing so when it was announced that Bioware would be teaming with Lucasarts to create an MMO one could say I was intrigued.</p>
<p>Then <a href="http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/deceived-cinematic-trailer">this trailer</a> was unveiled. Yes it was utterly brilliant and made millions wish the people behind the cinematic had made the films, but as any gamer knows, the great cinematic can often paper over the shoddy game.</p>
<p>However each small sliver of information makes me regress a decade and believe once more that Star Wars will be brought to life in a truly satisfying way.</p>
<p>Each developer video seems to point towards a Star Wars version of Mass Effect except it is online, massively multiplayer and fully voiced. The ability to have a party of friends share in-game conversations with full voice acting for both themselves and the NPCs is staggering in its ambition.</p>
<p>The video <a href="http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/developer-walkthrough">here</a> shows some of the breathtaking settings, the focus on storyline and three of the classes that will be available.</p>
<p>Note how the Smuggler has the &#8220;Run Up and Kick &#8216;Em in The Balls&#8221; melee attack. Nice.</p>
<p>At one point a Sith Warrior does a Force Charge move, flying a hundred feet at an opponent with lightsaber brandished, attacks his target and then swings the saber round and over his head in order to deflect a blast from between his shoulder blades without taking his focus from the first target.</p>
<p>And once again I am a child and The Force is the coolest thing ever invented.</p>
