Lucio Urtubia nasceu em 1931, na cidade de Cascante, província de Navarra, na Espanha, mas foi em 1954, na França, em Paris, que se tornou o maior falsificador da história.

O jovem Lucio começa suas atividades na informalidade ainda no exército, onde descobre como burlar os registros de suprimentos e fardas. Numa época de crise e racionamento, o mercado negro recebe uma enxurrada de botas, cintos e latas de conserva. O esquema é descoberto e o recruta precisa desertar para fugir da prisão militar.

Esse simples delito direciona a vida de Lucio como foragido. “Resolvi pegar a estrada, e naquele tempo todos os caminhos levavam a Paris”. O rapaz sem estudo e de família humilde logo se adapta, consegue emprego numa fábrica, faz novas amizades e descobre, na Cidade Luz, que não era comunista e sim anarquista. Lucio abraça a bandeira da Revolução Cubana e luta com todas as forças contra o regime franquista.

Os diretores espanhóis Aitor Arregi e Jose Mari Goenaga conduzem a história com humor, inteligência e muita criatividade. A excelente pesquisa de imagens concede um realismo necessário ao material e nos torna cúmplices de Lucio.

“Eu expedi cinco mil passaportes italianos em um mês. Ora, eu substituí o Governo Italiano. Quem precisa deles? Você quer ir e vir? Eu faço um passaporte francês ou alemão. Isso é liberdade.”

Lucio esteve envolvido, direta ou indiretamente, em praticamente todos os atos conspiratórios dos grupos extremistas durante as décadas de 60 e 70. Tinha ligações com os Panteras Negras, o grupo separatista basco ETA, guerrilheiros latino-americanos e muitos outros grupos e siglas, mas quase nunca foram encontradas provas contra ele. Lucio esteve sob investigação de diversas agências de vários países, incluindo a poderosa CIA.

Identidade falsa de Lucio

Mas nem todos acreditavam nas histórias de falsificação e nas aventuras. Para a família, Lucio Urtubia era simplesmente um ótimo pedreiro e ladrilheiro. Para os companheiros de obra, era um funcionário que nunca faltava ao trabalho e dono de um acabamento perfeito que os clientes adoravam. “Eu não acredito que ele fez tudo isso. Eu não acredito que ele esteve com Che Guevara.”, nos revela um antigo colega.

Para azar dos invejosos e sorte dos diretores, a imprensa e a polícia estiveram atentas aos passos do anarquista durante décadas. Volumosas pastas de arquivo, pilhas de documentos, milhares de fotos e metros de filmes foram gastos para descobrir como Lucio conseguia fornecer passaportes falsos para perseguidos políticos e ir ao trabalho todos os dias. E não é que vemos, preto no branco, Che e Lucio, lado a lado, durante uma visita do líder cubano à Paris?

Cheques falsificados por Lucio

O ponto alto do documentário é o famoso golpe que Lucio aplica no First National Bank (hoje Citibank), dos Estados Unidos. O bando de falsificadores – comandados por Lucio – espalhou milhares de Traveller Checks (cheques de viagem) pelo mundo todo, o que resultou num prejuízo aproximado de vinte milhões de euros (em valores corrigidos da época).

O longa-metragem de 93 minutos fica pequeno diante das estripulias de seu personagem, mas a montagem dinâmica e o roteiro bem entrelaçado preenchem as lacunas do tempo. Lucio nunca foi preso mais do que poucos meses, hoje vive em Paris e esteve presente na estréia do documentário, no Festival de Cinema de San Sebastián, na Espanha, no meio de 2008.

What a fantastic football game yesterday. It was a roller coaster ride that took Inter from last place to first! Mourinho went all out to get us our first win in nine Champions League games. At one point the team had one central defender on the pitch, and the way Lucio was playing you’d say he was an attacking midfielder. Zanetti yesterday played every position he could. Had Inter not won yesterday it would have been truly unfair. The second half was dominant.

Wesley Schneider’s influence on the team grows more and more each week. Mario Balotelli is making it impossible for the coach to keep him on the bench. Diego Milito is the calmest player I’ve seen in an Inter jersey. To be so relaxed in front of goal for that equalizer saved the day. It was impossible to sleep after the game last night. As you can tell from the quality writing that I’m still way too excited to even put in a coherent sentence.

Two weeks from now we go play Barcelona and lets hope we can carry this momentum. Its going to be a huge match up with the possibility of elimination looming on Barca’s head. Now I wonder what Zlatan would think of them apples? If we do not win, then we have a HUGE game against Rubin Kazan on the final group game. Exciting times!

Till then I’m going to bask in the wonder of last night’s win. The team is growing with each match. The injury spell is behind us and Jose can start fielding his best team from now on.

Forza INTERNAZIONALE

Better late than never, I suppose. Or at least, Jose Mourinho and Claude Puel will suppose. Hell, even Cesare Prandelli had to wait until the second half before his squad came to life. But I digress. Here’s what happened in CL business today:

"WTF HAXX"

Liverpool 1-1 Olympique Lyonnais – Another disappointing day in the life of a Reds fan. They fought and fought all night against Lyon, with Ryan Babel finally putting them ahead on 84′, only for Lisandro Lopez to rob them of all their hard work with a cheaply-had goal in extra time. Or so the story goes. But didn’t Lyon fight just as hard back to keep Liverpool scoreless for those 84 minutes? Don’t they deserve some credit for never saying die, even when it seemed Liverpool had already won the game at its last breath? I for one am not going to feel sorry for the Scousers – not this time – because this was a game that they knew they had to win, and the fact of the matter is that they didn’t do enough to win it. Sure Dirk Kuyt worked his ass off all game, but what good is hard work if you’re too exhausted to make sure you put in a quality performance in the final third of the pitch? That goes for you too, Javier Mascherano. Editor’s Note: This may not seem to make a whole lot of sense, but believe you me, it’s pure genius. I won’t say it wasn’t a disappointment for the ‘Pool – because it was – but I will say that that doesn’t mean they deserved it anymore than Lyon. The Benitez unemployment countdown continueesss!!

Fiorentina 5-2 Debrecen – I may have more than a healthy amount of bias, but I am becoming a believer in Fiorentina as a legitimate continental side. Sure, their defense leaks like a sieve at times, and the two goals scored against them this evening were borderline humourous (one can partially blame the absence of starting keeper Sébastien Frey for that), but la Viola have showed that they can bury them when it counts, as they did in a second-half goalfest this evening at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. I Gigliati took an early lead in the match when Adrian Mutu executed a diving header off of Marco Marchionni’s cross on 14′, and looked strong coming out of the starting gates, but they lost steam by the end of the first half and Debrecen were keen to take the wind from their sails as Gergely Rudolf equalized on 37′. The teams would go into the half level, but when they reemerged, it was all Fiorentina. Three goals in 10 minutes came from Dario Dainelli (51′), Riccardo Montolivo (58′) and Marco Marchionni (61′) to give la Viola a commanding 4-1 lead. I must give credit to Debrecen though, as they certainly did not say die. Substitute Adamo Coulibaly put his head onto the end of a pinpoint cross to pull one back for his side on 69′ and remind the jubilant Florentine supporters that the match was not over yet. However, Fiorentina were quick to assert their dominance; on 73′ Alberto Gilardino responded with a header of his own to restore his side’s 3-goal lead and the game pretty much ended there. Fiorentina repeated their first-half trick of gradually slowing the pace of the game, content to kick the ball around aimlessly with the comfort of their large lead. A victory in their next match (against Lyon) will see Fiorentina secure their passage to the first knockout round. Who would’ve thunk it?

The Barcelona bus doesn't even have snow tires!

Barcelona 0-0 Rubin Kazan – Picture this: You’re in Siberia, on a frozen tundra of snow and ice – the only way out is to score a goal on the net that is inexplicably situated in front of you. That’s already a pretty tall order, because you’re from Catalonia, and not exactly used to this very Russian weather. Oh, and then someone parks a bus between you and the goal. Ta-da! You’re Barcelona in Tatarstan this evening. Personally, I hate Russian weather. Editor’s Note: The author has never been to Russia. Chelsea lost their Champions League final match 2 years ago because some genius thought an open-air stadium in Moscow was a good idea – I’m sure Barcelona would agree with me tonight that an open-air stadium anywhere in Russia is just bad news. The Blaugrana were held by the Russian champions, unable to crack their 11-man defense or cope with the Russian cold. The best effort of the evening came on 2′, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic beat his markers only to hit the post. Both sides would trade a handful of chances throughout the remaining 88 minutes, but ultimately no one would be able to get ahead, and those sneaky Russians would steal another point from the reigning champions of Europe. Good on ya, Kazan!

Inter 2-1 Dynamo Kiev – If Jose Mourinho’s hair isn’t just a little more grey- I’m sorry, silver, after this evenings game, the man might be ageless. It seemed like the same old (hilarious) story – Inter dominate every week domestically, but go on to choke (and choke hard) in European play. The rest of us point and laugh, then realize they’re still 7 points clear of anybody else in the Scudetto race and go home to weep softly to ourselves. Well, I do, anyways. But I digress. It took only 21 minutes for Inter to fall behidn in the Ukrainian capital this evening – that old Nerazzurri nemesis, Andriy Shevchenko was back to haunt them once more and take the lead with a ridiculous left-footed volley from outside the 18-yard box. Inter had their world rocked, for a spell, but they would fight back, and fight back hard. I’m not exactly sure how it’s possible, but La Beneamata spurned a seemingly endless stream of chances throughout the remaining 69 minutes. No one was innocent; Samuel Eto’o, Mario Balotelli, Diego Milito, Lucio, Walter Samuel – each had a golden opportunity served up for them on a silver platter, and each duffed theirs in turn. In the 86th minute, Diego Milito would finally bring Inter level, latching on to the end of a spectacular low cross/throughball (?) from Wesley Sneijder and nudging it past Stanislav Bogush. Inter had been fighting for more than an hour to achieve that equalizer, and when that ball went in, Mourinho’s side roared to life. Just 3 minutes later, Wesley Sneijder would win the game for Inter and break Ukrainian hearts with just seconds to spare – Sulley Muntari launched a low shot at the Kiev net, and Diego Milito prevented the rebound from exiting play in order that Sneijder could run onto the ball and bury it – for once and for all. Inter take the lead in their group with this win, if only by a point, and break their barren winless spell in European play. Jesus guys, it took you long enough!

Arsenal 4-1 AZ Alkmaar – Today’s last relatively important match (which I for some reason feel obligated to mention) consisted of Arsenal handily defeating Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar at the Emirates Stadium. Cesc Fàbregas bagged a brace, Samir Nasri added a third, and Vassiriki Diaby made it 4 to complete a solid (and fairly routine) home rout. Jeremain Lens would pull back a consolation goal for his side with little time left in the match, but ultimately the Dutch simply could not contend with Arsene Wenger’s squad, who have hit their stride with a blistering run of form lately and are a danger to anyone they face.

Bueno amigos pues otro año que vuelvo a visitar este idílico enclave de Castilla La Mancha, aprovechando mis vacaciones por la zona dediqué un par de días a intentar sacar uno de esos “big-esox” que esconden sus cristalinas aguas

En estos dos días utilicé varias técnicas aunque las mas utilizadas fueron los “hard-jerkbaits”, sobre todo el Lucky Craft live Flash Minnow 120SP, para mí un jerkbait indispensable para tentar a los lucios y también utilicé pikies, grandes spinnerbaits y chatterbaits para buscar a los lucios en capas mas profundas

La verdad es que este año las lagunas presentan un aspecto inmejorable, están llenas de agua y con sus espectaculares cascadas, todo esto unido a la abundante vegetación de ribera hacen de la pesca un placer para los sentidos

Los lucios de pequeño y mediano tamaño se lanzaban a los jerkbaits sin pensarlo haciéndome pasar unas jornadas realmente divertidas

Comprobé en los dos días que estuve en Ruidera que al caer la tarde la actividad de los lucios se incrementaba notablemente, teniendo multitud de picadas

La verdad es que se me siguen resistiendo uno de esos viejos “esox-lucius” que pueblan las aguas de Ruidera,  aunque siempre es un placer poder disfrutar de la pesca en este bello lugar, si tienen la oportunidad de visitarlo no lo duden les sorprenderá, aunque nunca debemos olvidar que para seguir disfrutando de sitios como este debemos practicar siempre el CAPTURA Y SUELTA

Dunga convocou nesta terça, dia 27 de outubro, a seleção brasileira que enfrentará Inglaterra e Omã em amistosos nos dias 14 e 18 de novembro respectivamente.

O duelo contra o English Team acontece em Doha no Catar. Já a partida contra Omã será realizada na casa dos adversários da península arábica, na capital Mascate.

Sem poder contar com jogadores que atuam no futebol brasileiro, Dunga convocou 4 surpresas para os jogos na Ásia. O lateral Fábio Aurélio (Liverpool), os meias Carlos Eduardo (Hoffenheim) e Michel Bastos (Lyon) – este último se for utilizado deverá jogar na lateral esquerda, sua posição de origem – e o atacante Hulk do Porto.

Das novidades, acho que Fábio Aurélio há muito já fazia por merecer esta chance e a convocação do Michel Bastos também é muito válida, ele começou a temporada muito bem no Lyon, é um jogador rápido, versátil e moderno. Já Carlos Eduardo e Hulk eu não convocaria. O primeiro é um bom jogador, mas em sua posição temos nomes melhores, Diego da Juventus por exemplo. Já o Hulk vale pelo nome! É um jogador muito forte e tal, mas pra mim não tem bola pra jogar na seleção. No último campeonato português ele marcou 8 gols, na edição deste ano fez 1 e na Champions da atual temporada marcou outros 2; números bem modestos pra um centroavante de referência. Eu preferia ver o Grafite do Wolfsburg ou o Alexandre Pato do Milan.

Mas enfim, em seu todo a convocação é coerente e, de uma forma geral, podemos dizer que é boa.

Ayer se jugaron 8 partidos de Champions League y algunos bastante curiosos: 3 se definieron en los minutos finales y hubo 4 goles en contra. Pasen y vean las perlitas del Viejo Continente.

¿Cómo vas a saber lo que es el odio, si nunca te hiciste un gol en contra?

Rangers recibía en su estadio al Unirea por la tercera jornada de Champions. Ayer no parecío ser el día de los locales: malograron un penal y ayudaron con dos goles al triunfo de su rival (Lafferty y McCulloch). Igualmente, el conjunto escocés había logrado abrir el marcador por un gol en propia meta de Ricardo Vilana (Unirea), nada de méritos propios. Resultado final: 4-1 a favor de los visitantes, con una pequeña ayuda…

Inter no tuvo uno de sus mejores partidos ni mucho menos ante el Dynamo de Kiev. Comenzó perdiendo por un desconcierto defensivo a la salida de un tiro libre, logró igualarlo a través de Stankovic pero Lucio, defensor del neroazzurro,  se encargó de volver a complicar las cosas: tras un corner, metió un testazo que desconcertó a Julio Cesar y le dio la ventaja al rival. Suerte que apareció Samuel y salvó a Mourinho con el 2-2, porque sino…

Arsenal parecía llevarse tres puntos valiosos de Holanda, después del tanto conseguido por Fabregas en la primera parte, pero no. En el tercer minuto del agregado Mendes da Silva conectó la pelota de volea y sentenció la igualdad en el marcador.

Olympiacos parecía no pasar del empate en uno ante el Standard de Liège hasta que, en el tercer minuto adicional Stoltidis puso de cabeza el gol del triunfo para delirio de toda la afición griega.

Liverpool parece no encontrar rumbo en lo que va de la Champions y ayer no fue la excepción. Le ganaba al Lyon con gol del israelí Benayoun pero Gonalons puso el empate a falta de 18 minutos para el cierre y, en el primer minuto adicional, el recién ingresado César Delgado, dejó a los Reds con las manos vacías.

Rubin Kazan 2-1 Barcelona – Rubin Kazan. Champions of Russia. The team so good they named a sandwich after them. Kinda. Okay, I admit it. I have no idea who Rubin are besides the fact that they’re Russian and they’re apparently good because they’ve just beaten Barcelona at the Camp Nou. That’s right, the mighty Barcelona, Champions of Europe, defeated in what will be an historic victory for the Tatarstan side. Rubin went ahead very early in the match as Alexander Ryazantsev beat Valdes from range with a mighty strike on 2′, but a bit of Ibracadabra magic from Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it all level just after the half. Barca, however, could not seem to get ahead and it would be Rubin who would emerge victors in Catalonia; with Gökdeniz Karadeniz sealing victory for his side on 72′. Expect shockwaves to rattle the Spanish press in the next couple of days – this one’s a doozy. Oh, and the year of the Underdog continueeesss!

Inter 2-2 Dynamo Kiev – I think there might be some sort of gene defect in the blue half of Milan that prevents them from succeeding in the Champions League. Despite putting in the most impressive performance of their Serie A campaign so far on Saturday against Genoa (though I’m sure their 4-0 victory over AC Milan is held dearer to their hearts), the Italian giants simply could not get ahead of Andriy Shevchenko & Co. Like their Russian cousins, Dynamo would go ahead early, with Tarras Mikhalik giving his side on 4′. It would take Inter just over half an hour to pull one back, with Dejan Stankovic equalizing for i Nerazzurri. However, a dreadful own-goal from Lucio (who otherwise put in a rock-solid performance tonight) saw the visiting Ukrainians go into the half with a 1-goal advantage. Inter would start the second half on the right foot though, with Walter Samuel equalizing swiftly on 47′. From that point on it was anybody’s game, with the strike pair of Shevchenko and Artem Milevsky causing Inter’s backline all sorts of trouble; Wesley Sneijder and Estebian Cambiasso linked up in the the centre for Inter to provide creative and often-dangerous play. The best chance of the night came to substitute David Suazo, who had the goal at his mercy from about 5 yards but somehow managed to fire wide. He put the ball into the back of the net in added time, but was flagged for offside. A disappointing performance from the Honduran, who seems likely to be shown the door in January, but also a disappointing performance from Inter as a whole. Jose Mourinho’s side has extended its winless streak in Champions League to 8 games – not a record that Moratti & Co. will be too happy about.

Olympique Lyonnais 2-1 Liverpool - Oh, the scousers. I have a feeling that when Liverpool supporters look back in June this week is going to seem like the one that simply undid all of their dreams. First they lost to Sunderland this weekend when Darren Bent’s strike was deflected by a LFC beachball (a fact which the referee failed to note) and now they have been undone by a last-ditch Lyon. Yossi Benayoun, who has been one of the few bright points in the Reds’ season so far, put his side ahead just before the halftime break. However, Liverpool also suffered a demoralizing loss before the break, as captain Steven Gerrard limped out (again) with injury. The ‘Pool held their lead at Anfield until the 72nd minute, when Maxime Gonalons headed a rebounded shot past Pepe Reina. At that point the momentum of the game started to switch, and César Fabián Delgado would strike in stoppage upset the Reds and seriously damage their Champions League hopes with a second straight loss.

Fiorentina 4-3 Debrecen – Peter Czvitkovics scores – 2′. Debrecen take an early lead. Adrian Mutu equalizes – 6′. Alberto Gilardino scores -10′. Fiorentina up 2-1. Mutu scores again – 20′. 3-1. Gergely Rudolf pulls one back for the home side – 28′. Mario Alberto Santana responds for la Viola - 37′. Fiorentina would hold their two goal lead until 88′ – when Adamo Coulibaly would pull one back to make the final score 4-3. And so ended a fantastic match in Budapest this evening – one that sees Fiorentina continue their blistering run of form in European competition. So far la Viola are the only Italian side holding their weight in the Champions League, with both Milan sides and Juventus so grossly underachieving at the moment. If Fiorentina continue to rack up victories in this style, they may outlast all of Calcio’s big three in this year’s European Competition.

Arsenal 1-1 AZ Alkmaar – Liverpool were not the only English side to be undone by late goals tonight. Arsene Wenger’s men took a first-half lead over the reigning Dutch Champions via a 36th minute Cesc Fàbregas strike. The Gooners held on to that precious lead for the remainder of the 90 minutes, and looked to be on course to take 3 points home from their trip to DSB Stadion, but were forced to settle for a single point when David Mendes Da Silva found the back of the Londoners’ net. A result that gives the Dutch side only their second point of the group stage, while preventing Arsenal from taking a commanding lead at the top of Group H.

And so, it would appear that the year of the Underdog is alive and well. Rubin beat Barcelona, Lyon beat Liverpool, AZ Alkmaar tied Arsenal and Fiorentina, arguably outsiders in Serie A and certainly not Scudetto favourites this year, continue to light up the European Competition. More Champions League tomorrow – but it will be hard-pressed to live up to today’s excitement.

Apologies to Ireland, Slovenia, Ukraine and Bosnia. FIFA does not want you at the World Cup in South Africa next summer. So fervent was its determination that the rules of the competition were changed midway through it with the introduction of a seeding system in the qualifying play-offs. So these four countries will take on France, Russia, Portugal or Greece for the final four spots on the road to Cape Town. Now that is as fair as O.J. Simpson’s trial. FIFA might have wanted to give France and Portugal two goal head starts in their matches but apparently, that’s too obvious!

If you haven’t realised by now (which makes you really thick-skulled), it’s purely a commercial decision by the bigwigs sitting up in their ivory tower at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich. Just like in the Lord of the Rings, when the evil eye at Mount Doom did not like the way things were panning out in the war, it moved to intervene. And so did Sepp Blatter and friends. But don’t tell them that the evil eye gets destroyed in the end; we don’t want to ruin the surprise at their eventual downfall.

After all, someone needs to pay for their luxury boats and homes in the Caribbean. Who is going to foot Blatter’s massage bill if the corporate sponsors are angry that not all the money-generating superstars are at the world’s biggest sporting event? Certainly not me, although I would like the massage. Not from Blatter though.

When the possibility that Franck Ribery, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andrei Arshavin might be spending their summer on a beach in Dubai began to materialise, FIFA swooped down faster than Kanye West takes to interrupt an awards speech, thereby destroying whatever credibility it had left as football’s governing body. The World Cup should be an affair for the top 32 countries based on merit. It is justifiable to use the FIFA rankings when determining the initial qualifying groups, but once that kicks off, previous accolades should be thrown out the window. Current form and results is all that should matter.

When the runners-up of each group face one other for the play-offs, it should be a fair and open (in other words, unseeded) draw. Why should a country like Bosnia (which has overcome so much hardship in its troubled past to put up a commendable performance) be unfairly treated because Thierry Henry’s team didn’t have what it takes to top their group? All’s fair in love and war, but certainly not football.

I would have loved to have seen what FIFA would have done if Portugal or France had not finished runners-up in its group. There probably would have been an additional play-off spot created for the team with the tightest jersey or the most effective play until they reached the penalty box. Or even an expanded 34-team tournament!

Call me idealistic or old-fashioned. But I’ve always believed that the World Cup was where virtual unknowns burst onto the footballing stage and their agents let it be known that they were ‘honoured’ to be linked with the big clubs. Davor Suker, Jose Luis Chilavert, Tomas Brolin and Miroslav Klose wouldn’t have been household names if not for their countries’ better-than-expected outings in previous editions of the Cup. The so-called big names have flattered to deceive on the biggest stage a la France in 2002 and Spain in 2006.

Kudos to Diego Maradona, who tried to foil FIFA’s plans by doing his best to prevent Lionel Messi from booking his ticket to South Africa with ridiculous tactics and even more outrageous goal celebrations. The Argentinians squeaked past the finish line by the skin of their South American teeth. It is football blasphemy to see a team with Messi, Sergio Aguero, Javier Mascherano and Diego Milito play so badly. You know you’re not cut out to be a coach when you make these players look so ordinary.

But a character like Maradona would be much welcomed by the sponsors. His eccentricity alone guarantees an additional few million television viewers. He’s capable of running onto the pitch and attacking the referee. I hope Alan Wiley loses some weight by then so he can run for safety. Or better yet, imagine if Argentina were to take on North Korea. Maradona would probably create a diplomatic incident of epic proportions. So whilst I think the World Cup could still go on without the big sides, we certainly need our dose of colourful characters.

Oh, by the way, no European team has ever won the World Cup when it’s held outside of Europe. So, this time, apologies to Spain, England and Italy. Lucio will be lifting the Cup for Brazil come July 2010. And Cristiano Ronaldo will be at the seven-star Burj Al Arab hotel by then, thinking of ways to be the centre of attention for the coming transfer market.

Era apenas o quinto jogo de Dunga à frente da Seleção Brasileira. E a partida contra o Equador, no dia 10 de outubro de 2006, no estádio Rasunda, local da primeira conquista de Copa do Mundo pelo Brasil, seria a quarta de uma sequência de cinco vitórias. O treinador ficou os seis primeiros jogos sem derrota no comando da seleção.

E era também apenas o quinto jogo do Brasil após a perda da Copa do Mundo na Alemanha. Dos 14 jogadores que entraram em campo, apenas oito estiveram no grupo convocado por Carlos Alberto Parreira. Lúcio, Juan, Gilberto Silva, Kaká e Robinho, começaram como titulares e Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Mineiro e Fred entraram no decorrer da partida.

O goleiro Gomes, os laterais Maicon, Daniel Alves e Adriano, os meio-campistas Dudu Cearense e Elano e o atacante Rafael Sóbis, davam início à tentativa de renovação do treinador. Destes apenas Maicon, Daniel Alves e Elano mantiveram-se no time. Mais até que Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Mineiro e Fred, por exemplo.

Interessante notar que três anos depois, e poucos brasileiros permanecem nas mesmas equipes. Apenas Maicon e Adriano. Alguns, como Elano e Mineiro, por exemplo, já mudaram de time duas ou mais vezes. Outros, como Robinho, também trocou e já quis trocar de novo, e deve fazê-lo ao final desta temporada. Porém, ninguém fez pior troca que o Fred que perdeu a Copa do Mundo na África do Sul, e vai assistir, de perto (ou não, está sempre em BH), ao rebaixamento do Fluminense.

O time equatoriano de bobo já não tinha nada, e na Copa caiu somente nas oitavas de final, quando foi derrotado por 1 a 0 pela Inglaterra, num jogo duro. No time titular, apenas três mudanças. Na lateral esquerda saiu Reasco e entrou Ambrossi e no ataque saíram Carlos Tenório e Delgado para as entradas de Borja e Caicedo.

E a mudança do técnico Fernando Suarez, no ataque deu certo. Tanto que aos 22 minutos Félix Borja abriu o placar para os equatorianos. Já ao apagar das luzes do primeiro tempo, o atacante Fred, ainda no Lyon, empatou. Na metade do segundo tempo Kaká marcou o gol da vitória brasileira.

Dunga was still fresh at the bench, and the Seleção kept winning

It was Dunga’s fifth match on the bench of the Seleção. An this game against Ecuador, on October 10th 2006 at Rasunda Stadium, the place of the first Brazilian Wold Cup title back in 1958, would be the fourth on a sequence of five wins. Dunga would have a start of six undefeated games in the Seleção.

And that was also only the fifth match after Brazil’s loss to the French back in Germany. Of the 14 players that went to the field only eight were on the roster the year before. Lúcio, Juan, Gilberto Silva, Kaká and Robinho started the game and Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Mineiro and Fred entered during the match.

The goalkeeper Gomes, the backs Maicon, Daniel Alves and Adriano, the midfielders Dudu Cearense and Elano and the forward Rafael Sóbis were among Dunga’s attempt to bring new guys to the sqad. Among them only Maicon, Daniel Alves and Elano are still considered in the team, they are called off more often than Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Mineiro and Fred.

Interesting note that after three years and only a couple of players are playing on the same clubs as they were back in 2006. Maicon still in Internazionale and Adriano in Sevilla. Elano and Mineiro had two transfers in that span. Robinho made a change and he seems to regret so much as he intends to move away from Manchester next summer. However none of them made a worst move than Fred, leaving french power Lyon for virtually demoted Fluminense in Rio.

The Ecuatorians were a good squad, at the World Cup they managed to get to the second round, eliminated by the English Team in a really tough game. On the starting eleven just three changes. Left back Reasco gave his place to Ambrossi and the attack of the team was new with Borja and Caicedo replacing Carlos Tenório and Delgado.

And that change worked out well, so much that Félix Borja scored the first goal of the match at the 22 minutes in the game, Fred equalized at the end of the first half. Kaká scored the winning goal midway the second half.
