<p>With the world on the brink of economic and political disaster, László Moholy-Nagy and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe carried Bauhaus principles from Germany to Chicago in the late 1930s. This exhibition features projects by artists and architects, ranging in age from their 20s to 80s, who today continue a legacy of interdisciplinary innovation for better living, while exploring the central role of experiential education in the modern vision. On view are works by: BlackBox Studio/SOM, Chicago, Thom Faulders, Angela Ferreira, Andrea Fraser, Charles Harrison, Walter Hood, Ken Isaacs, Narelle Jubelin, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, Helen-Maria Nugent, Liisa Roberts, Kay Rosen, Staffan Schmidt, Jan Tichy, Arturo Vittori, Catherine Yass, and the Mark-Mark-and-Matt Collaboration.</p>
<p>The continued spirit of experimentation among students and faculty-for which the German Bauhaus remains a beacon-is also explored in a revolving series of “Modern Workshops” in which class investigations are presented for public view.</p>

<p>This is the famous Crown Hall Building by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe at the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology. The modern facade is typical of his work and a constant model for modern architecture. When Mies van der Rohe passed away, he was residing in Chicago.</p>

<p>Det finns inga rätt och fel när det gäller heminredning utan du ska blanda för att hitta din personliga stil. Vi gör om hemma som aldrig förr och inspirationen finns att hämta överallt. Alla har sin favoritdesigner, gammal som mer modern. Numera handlar heminredning inte längre om att slaviskt följa en ny trend eller stil utan snarare om att sätta sin egen touche på sitt hem och hitta sin egen personliga stil. Framför allt handlar det om att våga, att våga blanda olika stilar och att inte vara rädd för att testa på nya material. Jag tycker det är så härligt att komma in i ett hem där man verkligen känner av den personliga prägeln, där personen har blandat nya designade möbler med loppisfynd, arvegods med nyproducerad heminredning. Att blanda stilar, material och tidsåldrar är helt rätt och det finns idag många parallella trender att plocka godbitar ifrån. Att komplettera massproducerat med loppisfynd och ärvda ljusstakar från mormor, med det allra senaste inom möbeldesign ger personligt inrett hem. Det går att skapa stora förändringar med ganska små medel. Att bryta av ett färgstarkt och svulstigt inrett rum med strama detaljer, som exempelvis ett par raka enkla ljusstakar i tenn, ger fina kontraster och kan förändra helhetskänslan av rummet. Jag tycker också det är fantastiskt att se hur olika föremål ändrar karaktär och utseende beroende på omgivningen. Heminredning blir viktigare och viktigare. Idag kan man verkligen säga att inredningen är en förlängning av vår personlighet &#8211; romantisk, minimalistisk eller varför inte poppig och lite galen&#8230; som jag är. Jag vill bo i en snäcka! <title><![CDATA[Cellulari, sviluppo, austerità e progresso (e quel che ne pensa Obama)]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Io ho due cellulari: uno ce l&#8217;ho da cinque anni e lo considero il <em>mio</em> cellulare; l&#8217;altro ce l&#8217;ho da un anno, ed è un regalo di laurea.</p>
<p>Il primo può telefonare, mandare sms, farmi da orologio e da sveglia, permettermi di comporre una suoneria (<em>Light my fire</em>: ci ho perso la testa, ma è venuta bene) e ha poche altre funzioni che ho usato più raramente, ma ho usato: giochini, cronometro, calcolatrice e via dicendo. Ha solo il problema che alcuni tasti ormai non funzionano più, ma è una cosa su cui posso sorvolare, dal momento che lo uso per chiamare solo una persona con una tariffa conveniente, e dal momento che tendo a chiudere un occhio sui difetti se c&#8217;è in ballo un qualche tipo di ragione superiore. In questo caso, il fatto è che mi piacciono la sua forma, i suoi colori, la sua consistenza: è più grande degli standard attualmente in commercio, ma è compatto, bello e robusto; ci sono affezionato.</p>
<p>L&#8217;altro, quello nuovo (lo so: molti pensano che un cellulare, dopo un anno, non sia nuovo; ma io sì), oltre alle funzioni base, ha una vasta gamma di gadget, tra cui – vado a memoria – fotocamera, videocamera, lettore mp3, agenda, radio, registratore, note, cronometro, calcolatrice; e sicuramente c&#8217;è qualcosa che non ho ancora scoperto. Ha una bella forma e dei bei colori anche questo, ma sembra molto più fragile dell&#8217;altro. È inoltre altamente <em>personalizzabile</em>: posso scegliere tra diversi temi, impostare uno sfondo, scegliere di usare l&#8217;mp3 di <em>Light my fire</em> come suoneria e quello di <em>Helter Skelter</em> come sveglia, scrivere una frase sullo schermo, decidere quali funzioni includere nel menù rapido. Insomma, posso fare del cellulare <em>x</em> il <em>mio</em> cellulare. Non è assolutamente paragonabile al primo, ma –sarà che lo uso molto di più – mi ci sto pian piano affezionando.</p>
<p>Qual è la differenza, è una bella questione. Il primo è il <em>mio</em> cellulare perché fa quello che gli dico, e <em>solo</em> quello: sembra fatto su misura per me. Nel secondo, invece, tutte quelle cose che non uso e che forse ancora non conosco, insinuano in me il dubbio che il mio cellulare potrebbe essere anche il cellulare di qualcun altro (qualcuno che ascolta la radio, per dire), e quindi ho l&#8217;impressione che non sia <em>mio</em>, ma che in qualche modo si tratti di un&#8217;entità a sé stante che solo per una casuale contingenza è finito nelle mie mani e mi mette a disposizione solo alcune delle funzioni di cui è capace – quelle che servono a me.</p>
<p>È una differenza sottile all&#8217;interno di un discorso apparentemente campato in aria. Apparentemente: è una lunga serie di riflessioni innescata durante la lettura di <a href="http://www.repubblica.it/2009/02/sezioni/economia/crisi-13/cellulari-strategia/cellulari-strategia.html?ref=hpspr1">un articolo</a>, ieri, a lezione, che parlava del futuro prossimo dei cellulari.</p>
<p>L&#8217;articolo diceva che nell&#8217;ultimo trimestre del 2008 si è verificato un brusco calo delle vendite che, si prevede, spingerà molti produttori ad abbassare i prezzi, e non facendo qualche semplice sconto o promozione, bensì risparmiando a monte, ridimensionando la vasta gamma di gadget che è possibile trovare in un cellulare e che pressoché nessuno usa (alzi la mano chi guarda la tv nel telefonino). Sono, infatti, buone le vendite dei telefoni <em>minimal</em> e buone quelle degli ipertecnologici smartphone (nei quali la convergenza dei media è tale che parlare di telefono significa non sapere bene di quel che si parla): il calo di vendite ha riguardato i prodotti nella fascia intermedia, compresa tra i due estremi – quella del mio cellulare nuovo, per intenderci. Tutto questo, chiaramente, è una conseguenza della Crisi.</p>
<p>Da qui, le questioni: si avrà il cellulare per ricchi e il cellulare per poveri?, questo intervento servirà a risollevare il mercato?, che ne pensa Obama?</p>
<p>Rispondendo a sangue caldo, avrei detto di sì: si avrà un cellulare per ricchi ed uno per poveri; ma, riflettendoci un momento, vengono fuori molte altre considerazioni.</p>
<p>In realtà, non si avrà un cellulare per ricchi e uno per poveri, ma un cellulare ricco e uno povero: chiaramente uno costerà tantissimo e uno pochissimo, quindi uno potrà permetterselo chi dispone di molti soldi e l&#8217;altro sarà alla portata di tutti – (tutti?).</p>
<p>Il vero grosso problema del cellulare è che non è mai stato solo uno strumento, ma anche uno status symbol: è perciò probabile che chi vorrà apparire vorrà averne uno con tutte quelle funzioni che nessuno usa, verrebbe da dire. Invece, secondo me, le cose stanno così: ci si è stancati dello status symbol, e ora si cerca semplicemente uno strumento utile, agile e senza tanti fronzoli: il presidente degli Stati Uniti d&#8217;America usa l&#8217;ormai celebre Blackbarry e i comuni mortali no; e non perché Obama è Obama e gli altri sono &#8220;comuni mortali&#8221;, ma semplicemente perché la Crisi ha costretto tutti a un po&#8217; di austerità grazie alla quale i comuni mortali finalmente hanno capito di vivere bene anche senza un sacco di cose, tra cui la tv nel telefonino. Chi, invece, ha davvero bisogno di tutto il resto (Obama), continuerà ad averlo; e in forme sempre migliori. Il tempo del cellulare come status symbol è finito.</p>
<p>L&#8217;altra cosa che l&#8217;articolo mi ha richiamato è il discorso su <a href="http://www.cinetecadibologna.it/sitopasolini/saggistica_sviluppo-progresso.htm">sviluppo e progresso</a> di Pasolini –</p>
<blockquote><p>La tecnologia (l&#8217;applicazione della scienza) ha creato la possibilità di una industrializzazione praticamente illimitata, e i cui caratteri sono ormai in concreto transnazionali. I consumatori di beni superflui, sono da parte loro, irrazionalmente e inconsapevolmente d&#8217;accordo nel volere lo «sviluppo» (questo «sviluppo»). Per essi significa promozione sociale e liberazione, con conseguente abiura dei valori culturali che avevano loro fornito i modelli di «poveri», di «lavoratori», di «risparmiatori», di «soldati», di «credenti». La «massa» è dunque per lo «sviluppo»: ma vive questa sua ideologia soltanto esistenzialmente, ed esistenzialmente è portatrice dei nuovi valori del consumo.</p></blockquote>
<p>– e al fatto che forse, finalmente, è giunta l&#8217;ora del progresso. Una decisione di questo tipo (risparmiare sui gadget) da parte delle aziende produttrici di cellulari è innanzitutto un tentativo di risposta a una domanda <em>diversa</em> del cliente, sintomo del fatto che qualcosa in lui è cambiato; ed è una domanda che punta al progresso e non allo sviluppo: non più un pacco di roba superflua, ma solo l&#8217;essenziale. È il momento in cui bisogna selezionare, nella varietà di cose che lo sviluppo ha prodotto, quelle utili, da conservare, e quelle superflue, da scartare.</p>
<p>Se la nuova ottica di chi acquista un cellulare <em>minimal </em>è questa, però, ci si potrebbe spingere oltre: perché comprare un telefono se quello vecchio tutto sommato funziona ancora? Di certo non perché si è rotta la fotocamera. Si comprerà un nuovo cellulare quando non se ne potrà fare a meno, e non seguendo mode o rincorrendo i quotidiani sviluppi della tecnologia. Quindi, così come saranno ridimensionati i gadget, si potrà ridimensionare anche il mercato. In fondo, se l&#8217;andamento è quello di eliminare le spese superflue, non è così lontano dalla logica fare un&#8217;ipotesi del genere. Il mercato, così com&#8217;è oggi, è un malato terminale: non può risollevarsi – o meglio, può anche farlo, ma sarà solo un rantolo momentaneo –, ma può e deve cambiare: deve <em>progredire</em>.</p>
<p>A questo punto mi è volata la mente a un articolo che lessi un paio di anni fa su <em>Internazionale</em>: un articolo di Ed Douglas intitolato <em>Design Emotivo</em>, apparso originariamente sul <em>New Scientist</em>. (Me lo ricordo bene).</p>
<p>Era un articolo che per certi versi diceva cose che non condividevo molto, però, tra qualche spunto per sfruttare in termini di gretta convenienza economica i sentimenti che gli uomini provano per le cose e qualche cifra impressionante –</p>
<blockquote><p>Stiamo fabbricando più roba di quella che il pianeta è in grado di sopportare e usiamo enormi quantità di energia per spostare sempre più merce e sempre più rapidamente. […] In un giorno il volume degli scambi è pari a tutto quello del 1949. Nel 1983 è stato fatto lo stesso numero di telefonate che oggi si fanno in un giorno. L’era dell’informazione avrebbe dovuto alleggerire le nostre economie e ridurre il nostro impatto sull’ambiente, ma in realtà sta accadendo il contrario. Secondo [l’espero di design] Thackara, abbiamo aggiunto la tecnologia dell’informazione a quella dell’era industriale e abbiamo accelerato il metabolismo del mondo sviluppato. […] Il professor Ezio Manzini, che insegna Design Industriale al Politecnico di Milano, sostiene che passare a una società postconsumistica è come “cambiare il motore ad un aereo in volo”. Tuttavia Manzini è convinto che sia possibile. E non è il solo: nel libro <em>Capitalismo naturale</em>, Hawken e gli altri scrivono che “nei paesi sviluppati è possibile ridurre il consumo di materiali e di energia del 90% senza diminuire la qualità dei servizi”.</p></blockquote>
<p>–, c&#8217;era una considerazione molto giusta, che mi colpì: l&#8217;idea che le aziende, invece di produrre oggetti pensati per piacere subito e durare poco, avrebbero dovuto investire in prodotti con un bel design, di alta qualità, ma fatti per durare, e concentrare la maggior parte delle risorse nella manutenzione. Oggi (come due anni fa) cambiare un cellulare costa meno che aggiustarlo: questo è uno spreco che si può evitare, e probabilmente qualcuno deve averlo capito, finalmente. Bisogna sperare che il cliente si affezioni al prodotto e desideri aggiustarlo quando si rompe, e non che il consumatore lo getti e compri cose nuove. Nel caso degli oggetti tecnologici, poi, si potrebbero prendere in considerazione anche soluzioni come gli aggiornamenti, che eviterebbero, a chi vuole un cellulare moderno, il problema di coscienza di doversi disfare di un cellulare vecchio che ancora funziona bene.</p>
<p><em>Less is more</em>, sosteneva Thelonious Monk (e, mi dice Google, anche l&#8217;architetto Ludwig Mies van der Rohe): bisogna selezionare e risparmiare materiali ed energia, come nel cool jazz. È una cosa che va fatta perché è una cosa ragionevole: non per colpa dell&#8217;<em>austerity</em>, ma in nome del progresso.</p>
<p>La cosa più interessante di tutto ciò – e il motivo per cui in piena Crisi sono ottimista e scopro persino una per me inedita fiducia nel mercato – è che il cliente è anche e soprattutto un membro della società. Qualcosa sta succedendo al mercato: qualcosa sta cambiando nella società.</p>
<p>Ora, riuscire a capire di aver pensato tutto questo e trovare il modo di dirlo a parole in pochi secondi non è cosa facile, e, quando stavo per alzare la manina e dire la mia, mi sono accorto che la <a href="http://giovannacosenza.wordpress.com/chi-sono/">professoressa</a> era passata all&#8217;analisi di genere dello <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W9LqO5tl9E">spot pubblicitario di un caffè</a>. Pazienza: sarà per un&#8217;altra volta.</p>
<p>Ah, già: che ne pensa Obama? Be&#8217;, Obama è d&#8217;accordo con me, quindi è chiaro che ho ragione.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>My second-latest post was dedicated to a certain modern architect and designer, Alvar Aalto, whose work has become iconic or dogmatic for a whole country. Actually, the problem of modernism turned into dogma is much bigger than one single person in one single country. Take design, for instance &#8211; take a moment to think about what is considered <em>good design</em> in contemporary Western society. Perhaps some of the following items pop out of your neural circuits:</p>

<p>The latest edition of Icon Magazine allows you to participate in a contest called The Ultimate Living Room where you can win items labeled <em>good design</em>. <a href="http://iconeye.com/index.php?view=article&#38;catid=1:latest-news&#38;layout=news&#38;id=4101:win-the-ultimate-living-room&#38;option=com_content&#38;Itemid=18">Here&#8217;s what came up</a>. Many of the items presented by Icon Magazine, as well as the three chairs above, are widely accepted as iconic pieces of modern design.</p>
<p>Modernism sure is back after a brief period of postmodernism. Also, this is reflected by how we today define &#8220;The Ultimate Living Room&#8221;.While I do appreciate the forms and beauty of the modern, simple aesthetics, I do wonder what it tells of a society when many of its icons come from the past. &#8211; Or am I just spoiled by the momentum of societal change since the second world war, expecting change to be present all the time? I mean, look how long it took us to get rid of the classical views. A couple of thousand years.</p>
<p>Only, I feel a bit sad for the modernist movement. The language of design was that of breaking free from the past, breaking free from the classical ornaments. It is funny to see the rigidity around the definition of good design today. But I guess that&#8217;s the way it works. Ideas are first innovative, then they become dogma only to finally they fall to limbo. &#8220;All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.&#8221;</p>
<p>You might say society is not really through with modernism yet, so why should we change our icons? We still like the simple, industrially reproducable objects that emphasize the superiority of industry and technology. The three chairs above still reflect the society we live in, even though they were designed 50-70 years ago. Sure enough they do, but I still wouldn&#8217;t mind seeing some new ways to express the modern or neo-modern era we live in.</p>

<p><a title="De Barcelona stoel" href="http://detender.wordpress.com/2006/08/06/barcelona-stoel-echt-of-nep/" target="_blank">De Barcelona stoel</a> is, letterlijk, gemaakt voor een koning. Hij is ontworpen door <a title="Ludwig Mies van der Rohe" href="http://www.miesvanderrohe.nl/" target="_blank">Ludwig Mies van der Rohe</a> als kussen voor het derrière van de koning van Spanje op de Internationale Exhibitie in Barcelona. De poten van het meubel stuk zijn heel gepast gemaakt met de Romeinse keizers stoel in het achterhoofd. Bijna een eeuw later is deze stoel van van der Rohe nog steeds een meubel waarvan het publiek onder de indruk is.</p>
<p>Volgens Justin Pratt, het hoofd van Knoll Studio, het bedrijf in Groot Britannie dat de stoel mag vervaardigen is de stoel ‘fashionable, but not fashion’. Tijdsloos dus. En hij past daardoor in iedere ruimte ook naast een moderne <a title="TV meubel" href="http://www.eshop.nl/categorie/Beeld/TV_meubels.html" target="_blank">tv meubel</a>.</p>
<p>Zoals vaker gebeurd met een populair design zijn er namaak versies op de markt. Hoe weer je nu of je een echte hebt? Pratt zegt: “De knopen moeten iets kleiner zijn dan een engelse stuiver, een moet een handtekening op de linker poot staan en de stoel moet gemaakt zijn van 126 stukjes leer”.</p>

Obviando las referencias históricas del patio, el arquitecto trabajó entre 1931 y 1934 en proyectos de agrupación donde, conservando la orientación óptima de las células, se formaban manzanas rodeadas de viales para el tráfico rodado. En el interior de éstas, aparecían senderos peatonales.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Al hilo de estos estudios podrán unirse los trabajos teóricos realizados por los arquitectos vinculados a la Escuela de la Bauhaus. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe propone en el ámbito pedagógico un tejido urbano a base de grandes manzanas formadas por casas patio adosadas unas a otras, y un discípulo suyo, Edgard Ludwig plantea un esquema absolutamente racional como ejercicio en el Seminario de Arquitectura de la escuela alemana.</p>

<p>1886 wurde Maria Ludwig Michael Mies in Aachen geboren. 1922 ergänzte er seinen Namen um den Mädchennamen seiner Mutter und nannte sich fortan Ludwig Mies van der Rohe &#8212; der Name, unter dem er als bedeutender Architekt der Moderne bekannt wurde (mein Dank geht an <a href="http://wassily.wordpress.com/">Wassily</a> für den Hinweis auf die Bedeutung der Jahreszahl 1922). </p>
<p>Ich habe nichts finden können, was Mies mit der Veteranenstraße in Verbindung bringt. Wer Aufklärung zu bieten hat, möge bitte einen Kommentar hinterlassen.</p>

<a href="http://ow.ly/ifDb">Knoll</a>, the famed Mid-Century Modern company that helped to produce designers like Eero Saarinen (who I&#8217;ve studied for months now) launched a kids line in May 2009, making their very famous pieces shrunk down to fit the little ones. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>„Modernitatea” este o ambiţie de performanţă a Civilizaţiei. Această „modernitate” era deja descrisă &#8212; şi respinsă &#8212; de Vechiul Testament : „<strong><em>Haidem! să ne zidim o cetate şi un turn al cărui vîrf să atingã cerul</em></strong>.” (Geneza, 11 : 4). Entuziasmul acela hubric îl va impregna pe Frank Lloyd Wright &#8212; arhitect al muzeului Guggenheim din New York, Rotunda ce arată precum adumbrirea unui Babilon inversat &#8212; când declara : „<strong><em>Yes, I intend to be the greatest architect of all time!”. </em></strong>Prima parte a vieţii lui Frank Lloyd Wright se desfăşoară în Belle Époque, când modernitatea hubrică începea să se manifeste ca mod de viaţă. Ea propune omului o viziune a lumii resuscitând, contorsionând uneori, legenda turnului Babel. Romanele lui Jules Verne, &#8212; ce considera ideea de modernitate foarte reală, şi blama ficţiunea lui Herbert G. Wells cu acuza : „<strong><em>El inventează !”,</em></strong> căci, într-adevăr, eroul din „Maşina timpului” nu călătoreşte-n Caldeea&#8211;, începuturile aviaţiei, baloanele, planoarele, turnul Eiffel, toate-s reflexele sindromului Babel. În România, promotorii modernităţii şi modernismului sunt în primul rând Aurel Vlaicu şi Eugen Lovinescu. Implementând ambiţia modernistă în mediul urban, în Eurasia şi America,<strong><em> Le Corbusier </em></strong>si <strong><em>Ludwig Mies van der Rohe</em></strong>, embleme ale &#8220;stilului internaţional&#8221; simplificator, distrugeau textura oraşului tradiţional. Minimalismul lor ce pliază evantaiul perspectivelor culturale este-n primul rând arhetipal. Reacţia la această modernitate era eclectică, şi „dramatic vizibile”, cum ţinea să remarce Fredric Jameson, producţiile post-moderne apar întâi în arhitectură. Dar nu aşa vedeau postmodernismul Deleuze şi Guattari. În cea de a doua, &#8211;şi cea mai răspândită&#8211;, înţelegere a termenului, postmodernismul se (re)defineşte tocmai prin &#8220;cultura populară&#8221;. Chiar titlul cărţii lui Fredric Jameson din 1991 : &#8220;<strong><em>Postmodernismul, o logică a culturii capitalismului târziu</em></strong>&#8220;, este relevant. Deja Marshall McLuhan, director la <strong>Center for Culture and Technology </strong>al universităţii din Toronto, era solicitat de oamenii de afaceri nord-americani să ţină prelegeri privind felul în care un nou tip de cultură ar putea influenţa şi augmenta consumul, considerat în S.U.A. motorul dezvoltării economice. Cultura populară devenea o multiplicare a etichetelor consumeriste mai mult ori mai putin identice, o “copy culture” &#8211; cultură a copiei. Începuturile postmodernismului ar fi fost marcate, pe „scara de timp a istoriei”, prin transfigurarea subiectului „naturii moarte” din tablouri în mărfurile identice stivuite pe rafturile magazinelor. Cele mai cunoscute producţii culturale care glorifică produsele de consum sunt imaginile multiplicate ale sticlelor de Coca Cola şi cutiilor de supă Campbell din arta-pop a lui Andy Warhol. Cutii de supă acoperind ca o viitură fierbinte creaţiile expresionismului abstract, căci după Fredric Jameson, finalul apoteotic al modernismului avea drept decor tablourile de acţiune ale lui Jackson Pollock şi Willem de Kooning. Fredric Jameson mai corela emergenţa postmodernismului cu tipul particular de milenarism aflat la îmbinarea dintre mileniul al doilea şi mileniul al treilea, când s-a ajuns să se vorbească despre &#8220;sfârşituri&#8221;, printre care –să rîdem, nu ?&#8211;, şi al Istoriei. Altminteri este riscant să vorbeşti despre postmodernism, a cărui premisă definitorie este respingerea metanarativului. Interdicţia impusă metanarativului înseamnă restatuarea indirectă a pozitivismului, la acest punct Alan Sokal are poate dreptate.</p>

<p>EU議会は1987年に、現代建築の課題に取り組んでいる建築家を表彰するため、20世紀のヨーロッパ建築を代表するミース・ファン・デル・ローエの名前を冠した建築賞を創設した。</p>
<p>二年に一度、最優秀賞や新人賞などを授与している。過去の受賞者には、英国スタンステッド空港のノーマン・フォスターやフランス国立図書館のドミニク・ペローなど世界的な建築家の名前がずらりと並ぶ。</p>
<p>東京都庁の展望ギャラリーと新宿パークタワーの2会場で、最優秀賞など約50点のオリジナルの建築模型が展示された。バルセロナにあるミース財団のルイス・オルテ専務理事も来日。ヨーロッパ現代建築の最新の動向に触れる貴重な展覧会となった。（赤坂四郎）</p>
