Durante la gala, el mago Víctor Cerro deleitará con sus trucos a los asistentes. Cerro es un personaje muy querido en la localidad placentina y este año ha sido el pregonero de las fiestas, donde cada año se congregan cientos de personas. Pero además, en la gala, que se celebrará en el teatro Alkázar de Plasencia, habrá otras muchas sorpresas. Se darán cita personalidades de la comunidad autónoma, la capital del Jerte y del diario HOY y responsables de Sevillana-Endesa, patrocinador, una edición más, del evento. En esta ocasión se ha querido reconocer la impresionante labor en sus diversas actividades y la promoción que realizan de Extremadura Alberto Amarilla, Luis Pastor (Premio Especial Cáceres 2016), Julia delViejo y Marcelo Muñoz.

1. Un buen batido de chocolate. Leche, colacao (14 cucharadas), mouse de chocolate, yogurt de chocolate, onzas de chocolate picado, unas 10 cucharadas de azúcar y todo a la batidora americana.

2. Abrir un libro de Juan Agustín Goytisolo y leer en alto un poema al azar.

3. Lavarse la cabeza y aplicar una pringosa mascarilla de melocotón. Aclararlo con agua fria y dejar que se seque al aire.

4. Poner en el playlist Angel Caido de Luis Pastor y Pedro Guerra y escucharlo durante un buen rato.

5. Tumbarse en la cama, mirar al techo y controlar la respiración. Inhalar, exhalar, inhalar, exhalar… Es una cuenta infinita

6. Hacer una pajarita de papel (la papiroflexia es un gran invento). Hacer más pajaritas de diferente tamaño. Completar toda una familia de pajaritas de papel.

7. Comer pipas hasta que te piquen los labios.

8. Poner en el playlist a Hard rain gonna fall y cantarla a grito pelado (mejor cuanto más desafinado)

9. Hacerse una trenza en el pelo, deshacerla, volver a hacerla… Intentar que se quede hecha sin ninguna gomita, volver a hacer una trenza.. quitarse los nudos que se han hecho al intentar mantener la trenza sin goma.

10. Cerrar los ojos y rebuscar en el armario. Salir a la calle con lo que hayas elegido. ¿Quién dijo que los lunares y los cuadros no pegan?

11. Dar un montón de vueltas sobre uno mismo hasta perder el equilibrio. Después de un par de tumbos todo vuelve a la normalidad siempre.

12. Escribir un problema en un papel. Mirarlo desde todo los ángulos posibles. Poner el papel en el suelo, subirse a una silla y contemplarlo desde bien alto.

-Ordenar todos los pendientes que tengas, buscar a su pareja y decir: ¡Qué perdida de tiempo! ¡Si nunca me pongo pendientes!

-Escribir una lista con todas las cosas fáciles que se te ocurran para sentirte bien y hacer, por lo menos, una al día

On the heels of opening a new branch in December, a recent CUNA article reports that Durham, NC-based “Latino Community Credit Union has earned a $60,000 Innovation Grant from the National Credit Union Foundation to create a ‘Culture of Savings’ throughout a state with one of the fastest-growing Latino populations.”

The pilot program will be aimed at educating low-income individuals and families about finances while encouraging savings. 

This news comes a few months after a June article from the Triangle Business Journal reporting that “The organizers of LCCU did see a market, and their institution has become the fastest growing development credit union in the nation, according to the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.”

In a recent interview with NPR, Luis Pastor, CEO of LCCU, was quoted as saying “we feel that in this moment, the answer is not closing the doors, it’s opening doors…” Pastor adds to this point with another in the CUNA news article:  ”we are planning to open three new branches and expand our financial education program.  By implementing this initiative now, we will be able to attract, educate and retain new members.”

Where some institutions fail to identify a target market, LCCU has gone beyond this as a first step – with an obvious focus on the large and fast-growing Latino population in North Carolina, the launch of the ‘Culture of Savings’ program is evidence of the credit union speaking directly to a specific need of its target market.  It’s this kind of focus that clearly differentiates Latino Community Credit Union from its competition; and it’s the credit union’s efforts to continually refine its brand position that will support its continued growth.

I’ll be interested to see how LCCU approaches the ‘Culture of Savings’ initiative at the state level – both in markets where the credit union has branches, and where it doesn’t.

Nuevo disco de Pedro, todos estábamos esperando esta noticia ya hace rato. Echábamos de menos nuevas letras y las sensaciones que siempre nos despierta. Cuatro años de descanso, un hijo, algunos años más y la madurez le dan un toque especial a este disco.
