China’s no.1 R&B star Ayi Jihu speaks about the X-Factor TV show

A couple of years ago I would not have had the knowledge, experience or even the guts to really speak about something like X Factor other than to say what most others where saying. Now my experiences with Shlepp Records and having been in this business for a little while I feel confident enough not only to speak about X Factor, but to speak with some wisdom about it.

The most damaging thing about X Factor is it’s not real. It’s the wrestling of the music game and it seems just like wrestling it has millions of fans and followers who don’t seem to care whether it’s real or not. I guess before I was one of them, I now however do not like the idea of a rigged game. When I say rigged I mean in the sense that the house always wins and by the house I mean Simon Cowell. My real gripe with the X Factor though is that although it can be quite watchable (for all the wrong reasons), entertaining and indeed even educational, it is unfortunately in so many ways unreal and unfair.

Firstly I have done over 350 shows in front of almost 2 million people and even with that experience I feel I am still just a baby in this game and have so much to learn to truly find myself and perfect my craft. Secondly I think I would be a complete wreck if my record company asked me to sing like Frank Sinatra, Beyonce or James brown, Why because it just aint me! Thirdly, I have been fortunate enough to be mentored by Stevie Eagle E and I was not thrust upon him like a bad Christmas gift. He was looking for someone like me and chose me, he understands what I am trying to achieve and our goals and ambitions together with our ideas more than often run in sync. God help me if was mentored by any of the X Factor panel!

Before I started to work with Shlepp Records I watched the X Factor like most others, now I watch it from the perspective of an artist, someone who knows the game and I watch it through very different eyes. I can see how Danny and Sheryl mentor many of their artist wrong, thrusting their desires and views on artists who have no choice but to follow bad advice. I see how Louis walsh views and perspective is that of someone who does not understand music very much, but understands media and how to make money. I also see how Simon although frank and many times sincere will never really be the man to find an artist to change anything, only more of the same, because he is also afraid to take risks and no matter how much he says he is taking risk he is just fooling himself and everyone else. It’s like a Casino saying it takes a risk….Yeah right. However the whole premise of gambling in the Casino is to fool the punter into thinking that the Casino can lose, Simon in many ways does the same.

When I first met Stevie Eagle E, the first time we actually had a meeting and he spoke to me about my career I did not quite understand. I did not feel I did any thing special on the video that he was talking about. I was one of many other oriental girls on this video shoot and I thought they were all good. But he said to me that I had the X Factor, that something that you cant quite put your finger on but is there and makes it hard for people to take their eyes off you. To be honest it has taken me a long time to understand what he was talking about. At the time I was so happy just to be able to realize my dreams and ambitions I just shook my head and said yes to everything he said. Now though I get it. Stevie was not looking for just another great dancer, or singer, he was looking for some with the X Factor too, and you can have that without being a singer or dancer or even in entertainment at all. Some people just have this thing about them that draws people to them, or makes them compelling and unique. Because we cannot truly always put our finger on what it is we call it the X Factor. As Stevie puts it, it’s the one thing the big boys cannot control or manufacture, they can find the best dancers, singers etc, but they cannot always find the ones with X Factor because in truth they do not know what it is. For example Susan Boyle. She has the X Factor and lets face it, how many record companies would have discovered her?

What Stevie was trying to tell me back then was that he saw something in me that separated me from the crowd. Until I understood that for myself and stopped looking for it in other things I could not really progress as an artist because I thought all the keys to success were in external things. In many ways we as people believe money will make us happy and so we spend our lives chasing it. We blame everything that goes wrong or that is not right on the fact that we do not have enough money and if we did things would be great, even though all the facts show us differently we persist in this way of thinking. So instead of working on ourselves and looking within for happiness we are always looking outward to things like money, friends, partners and things to make us happy. The same can be said of me I did not look within to understand the X factor I looked outward and so for a long time I could not understand it.

And so in a very round a bout way it brings me to the main reason why X Factor does not work for me. Now that I understand what X Factor is I realize that the program has never discovered anyone with the X Factor to date. In fact the whole premise of the show is not find someone with the X Factor but to find someone who can fit into what is already there and if you do have the X Factor the show is more likely to get rid off it than to discover it. None of the judges are looking for the X Factor they are looking for an act that will win the show or appeal to the British buying public. Therefore to me the whole show is one great big lie. Entertaining yes, dramatic yes, but a lie.

Can’t believe it’s Christmas again! New Year is just round the corner! Last year I spent my Christmas and New Year in Macau, I didn’t even need a jacket, there was no snow, no Christmas tree, but with a new adventure to begin!
This year although I do need a jacket because it’s absolutely freezing but I get to spend my Christmas and New Year with family with lots of food and drinks watching the snow and opening presents! Nothing beats spending quality time with your family at home!

I call it home, as I have been living here for over 10 years, my family is here, my life is here, at the beginning I’ve always felt like the inbetweener, as time goes by, after being around many local people, understanding they way they are and they way they think I felt more at home as my mind has opened up and became the person I am today. Even though I am still somewhat of an inbetweener, I don’t question who I am, and why I’m the way I am, I’ve learnt to accept that’s just the way my life is, and now see it as an advantage of understanding both the Chinese and the British culture!

Just driving mum to supermarket today, coming to the end of my road, about to turn left, driving very slowly as it’s very icy, this car suddenly appeared in front of me, she was turning right onto my road, but she didn’t stop or look, and she turned onto my side of the road! Ok I am Chinese, but I did pass my driving test in England and I know you supposed to drive on the left side of the road, not like China on the right hand side! She braked so hard, I could hear the tyre rolling on the icy road, luckily she didn’t hit the front of my car! I looked at her, thought she might just give me a heads up and drive on, instead she told me to watch out!! What a cheek I thought, my temper just boiled up to the surface, I told her she was the one supposed to open her eyes, if she hit me, the police could easily see who was in the wrong, even the people in her car told her to drive on, she then gave the cheekiest comment telling me to go back to my country! Then I said to her, well you are in your country yet you don’t know which side of the road you are supposed to be driving on! This reminded me not long ago, someone walked pass me and I heard him saying you are hot but you are Chinese!

So what if I’m Chinese? Would you rather get with a hot Chinese or an ugly non-Chinese? I wondered if I were ‘one of them’ driving, would she still do the things she did or would she just leave it and drive on? Is it because I’m Chinese so she thinks I can’t stand up for myself in front of her? So she chose to attack me and think I’d swallow her nonsense?

I’ve been very lucky not to have had many racist comments thrown at me or being treated very differently, well, on the surface of it all everything seems to be ok that we get treated pretty equally, but it’s the little things, the little comments from people in this society that shows what people really think and proves at any given time, when things go wrong they will switch on you and use the fact that you are not originally from here to slam you down because they think you are not even on the same level as them, even with the ones who are born and brought up here but just not English! that doesn’t sound fair to me or so called treating each other equally, but it happens all the time.

Wherever I am, whoever I’m with I’ll always be proud of the fact that I am Chinese and extremely grateful that my life turned out the way it has, so I keep learning from different people and move on for the better, it’s those ignorant ones who will stay at the same place.

Chinese star Ayi Jihu speaks to Stars only about learning to deal with people in the entertainment industry.

As Chinese star Ayi Jihu stands on the brink of breaking into the USA and potential fame and fortune she speaks frankly with stars only about how her journey in the entertainment industry has opened her eyes to the true nature of people, good and bad. Speaking from a rehearsal studio in Cambridge UK Ayi Jihu told us how she has learned to look at people with what she calls ‘better eyes’ these days.

It’s so crazy how people can be. I used to take everyone at face value, but I no longer have the luxury of doing that any more. I have learned so much about people since I started this and most of it has not been good. Even people you think you know very well can switch on you! What I also do not understand about people in this business is that they are so ready to avoid or circumvent the proper business way of doing things. I find I get many people approaching me to do certain things which is great. But certain things people in this business know they should contact either the record company or management and they don’t. I’m not quite sure why people do this. I can understand that some people do not know or understand the correct order of things but people in the business do and when they contact me asking this or that I sometimes wonder if its some kind of test.

There are codes of practice in every business as there is in life and I have found out myself sometimes the hard way that if you break them things do not tend to go well, if not in the short term, in the long term for sure.

I’m lucky that I have some great friends. Friends who I have known and had long before I was doing this. Some of the things that have happened with people since I started this I can’t even mention, but lets just say, I’m a lot smarter and not as naive as I was several years ago.

Ayi Jihu – not afraid of being sexy China’s top international R&B and Hip Hop star Ayi Jih

Ayi Jihu – not afraid of being sexy
China’s top international R&B and Hip Hop star Ayi Jihu has come out strongly to defend herself against those that have said she is more of a sex symbol than a singer.

Speaking from her Cambridge home the Chinese star laughed at suggestions that her singing takes second place to her looks as a celebrity. She said. ‘When I hear comments like that I just laugh really because it shows a lack of knowledge and wisdom from the people saying such things. Most of all it shows a lack of understanding for how this business works. I am in the business of show business, I am not in the business of solely sound.

Everyone is given a talent by God. They are given obvious talents and talents they must discover and nurture to bring to the fore. These talents are just the keys to the doors of opportunity life will put in front of you. My obvious talents to some are my looks and sex appeal, and just because I have them, no fault of my own mind you, I do not see why I should not use these keys to open the doors of opportunity life presents me with. Many people forget I was not discovered singing in a club or on a street corner. I was discovered dancing in a video.

I have always wanted to be a singer a performer. You only have to go back to my childhood days at school and everyone who knows me including my teachers will tell you that. They will tell you, that is what Ayi Jihu was meant to be, was born to be. It was my talent not my so much my looks that people focused on when I was younger. I realized in my teens that I had this sex appeal and it mostly came out when I was dancing. Whatever ever dance I was doing and wherever I danced I attracted so much attention. I did not really understand it back then but now I am coming to grips with the fact that it is just a God given talent. I know that for a Chinese girl to move like me is quite rare and instead of thinking about it too much I just do it.

I used to be afraid of my sex appeal, of my beauty, I would only really express myself when I was out having a good time, but joining Shlepp Records and having this great opportunity to realize my dreams has made me understand how stupid I was. It’s like being ashamed of yourself because you are strong, or fast, or because you are smart. Having the right muscle structure may make you fast, but without the right training and dedication and practice you will not win the olympic games. Me being sexy and beautiful (and these are others words not mine) is one thing but it is not enough for me to achieve my goals in this industry and therefore I work extremely hard on my other talents including my singing.

From Marilyn Monroe to Madonna great entertainers and icons have all been criticized because of one thing or another, but they have worked hard and proved their critics wrong. I intend to do the same.

I would not be telling the truth if I said people comments do not effect me at all. Sometimes they do. It’s like trying to talk to a guy about something really important only to realize he is just staring at your breasts! That really used to get to me, but it does not so much anymore, because the more you speak sense and are capable of speaking sense the less his eyes are fixated on your breasts. I would never say certain thoughts in his mind will ever leave, after all, men are men, but I would say that he is left with more than just the impression of my breasts on his mind.

Being a woman is hard enough these days with all the pressures society puts on us and we put on ourselves. Being a woman in the spotlight is even harder. It takes a lot of self discipline not to kill ourselves with self doubt. We all want what we don’t have and it is easy to appreciate what we do have. I am learning to be happy with what God gave me. To appreciate them and use them to achieve my goals without feeling guilty or wishing I had this or that. So in a nutshell I do not care what people say, as long as my fans continue to support me, buy my music and stick with me for whatever reason I am grateful and happy.

As far as being sexy is concerned, I love it. There is nothing wrong with being sexy, like any gift it’s what you do with it that counts. I love the attention from men and women alike and I feel good and confident within myself about myself. So who cares what people say, we all do, but the key is not to care too much!

If people took the time to really listen to my album and lyrics they would understand a bit more about me. I am developing my own style. I am not trying to copy this or that singer, or be like anyone else. I am just trying to be me and as I progress I can see I am getting closer to that goal and getting better at expressing myself vocally all the time.

Ayi Jihu’s debut Album Try Me is available on Itunes and Amazon now.

China’s no1 international R&B and Hip hop star Ayi Jihu has spoken exclusively to Stars Confiden

China’s no1 international R&B and Hip hop star Ayi Jihu has spoken exclusively to Stars Confidential about the recent developments in China concerning global warming. In an interview with Stars Confidential Ayi Jihu said: ‘I know to many people I’m just a pretty girl who dances and sings on stage and therefore maybe I should not speak out too much about things such as global warming. However this is one of those issues that is really close to my heart. I grew up in a beautiful place with wonderful mountains and lakes and country side. Some of the lakes around my village you could look in and see right to the bottom years ago. Now things are not so much the same. As I have seen China become more and more industrialized I have also seen the environment changing for the worse.

When I return home and talk to my friends about this, they do not seem too bothered. Most Chinese people are just happy that China is now getting all the things they have seen on TV and heard about for so many years, but that has not been available to them. They are excited about the development and want it to even go faster. They are not concerned about carbon emissions, global warming and that kind of thing. I can understand how they think, because I was just like them until I started to travel around the world and see more things. I have seen many of the great things the West has to offer, but also many of the bad.

China is world’s biggest polluter

Hearing the news that China is going to cut its emissions for me is fantastic. I know a lot of people are skeptical, but I really believe that the Chinese leaders want to make China one of the world’s greenest countries, even with the phenomenal rate of growth we are experiencing. The great thing is that we can also learn from the mistakes of others.

This is one of those issues I intend to be very vocal about. I hope that as time goes by I can make the Chinese people more aware of this issue.

China’s first R&B international star talks about Chinese fashion

Chinese singer and Dancer and Sc100 most beautiful nominee Ayi Jihu says Chinese women are no longer out in the fashion wilderness. After years of not really having a fashion identity Ayi Jihu has seen Chinese women gain a stronger sense of fashion in the last few years.

Ayi Jihu explains, ‘Before Chinese women and men just bought designer labels for the name, for them that was enough. They never really considered if the items they were wearing suited them or even looked good. The important thing was just the label and being able to say you had Armani, or Christian Dior ect.’

Chinese singer and model Ayi Jihu

We asked Ayi Jihu if she thought that celebrities like herself were part of the reason Chinese Women and men where gaining a stronger fashion sense.

I’m not sure if I have many people following me for fashion right now. I do my best to look good and set my own style, but my main focus right now is my music. I do feel that there are several Chinese female stars who are leading the way for others in my country. There are several differences between how Chinese women and western women dress and approach fashion.

‘Chinese women tend to prefer to look cute, or princess like or they follow the Japanese style which can also be a bit pop punky. They do not really go for sexy, urban or street, They do are just getting used to cutting edge fashion design like Ed Hardy or Apple Bottom. My style is more sexy and urban, but I love to dress elegant and princess like too. For that reason I believe my style is a little bit too much for them at this point, but I do believe I am beginning to turn a few heads one person at a time in China.’

Ayi Jihu has done fashion shoots with Hugo Boss, DKNY, Chloe, Galliano, Ditta, Bally, Bvlgari, PePe, Ferre, and many more and as she becomes more familiar to Western fans she is being seen more and more as a fashion leader.

'I'm still trying to find my own feet image and fashionwise, so I am not sure if I see myself as a fashion leader yet, but I do have a stronger sense of how I want to look and who I want to be and I know whatever that is I would like it to have elements of design, colour and style from my Chinese roots.

Having travelled the world and experienced some of the best things it has to offer Chinese star Ayi Jihu shares her thoughts on the top cars she has driven, owned or driven in. These are all cars she would love to own and may even own.

Ayi Jihu’s top car selection

Ayi Jihu’s top cars are: lamborghini, Mecedes-Benz, Aston Martin, Mini cooper, Audi R8

Ayi Jihu says:

I’m a small girl so I bought a Mini which I love. It’s just the right size for me and it drives fantastic. It’s so cool and sexy and made for a girl like me. My ultimate car has to be the Lambo, A good friend took me for a drive in his once and I don’t think I have ever had a better time in any car. He let me drive it too which was amazing. The sound it makes and the way it makes you feel is unbelievable I’m hoping to get one of those in a year or so if I can afford the insurance.

The Aston Martin comes next. I have always loved these cars. Any girl who watches James Bond movies has to fall in love with these cars, they are so sexy, so refined so powerful and well designed, classic all the way. The truth is however that Stevie Eagle E my producer from Shlepp Records loves these cars and he goes on about them all the time. He made me fall in love with them a bit more and they made my top 5.

I have been fortunate enough to work with BMW, Audi and Volvo and although no BMW makes my top 5 as great as they are the Audio R8 definitely does. I was a guest and reporting at the grand opening of Audi in Macao and I got to sample all the cars including the magnificent R8. If I did not have my Mini cooper I would have one of these for sure. It’s the perfect size, drives like a dream and when you sit in it you feel as though nothing can hurt you. It feels so well made so solid. It’s a boys car, but it’s also a hot girls car like me and I love this car.

Call me a girl but I love cars where the doors open like wings, that is such a sexy thing to see. Yes it’s not very practical if you are just nipping down to the supermarket to pick up some noodles, but if you pull up outside a club in the mercedes AMG oh my god! When those doors open and you step out it seems everything else opens after that. I have turned up to a few of my shows in this car and trust me it works. The other thing about this super car is the raw power of it, you feel like you are sitting in a rocket ship when you mix the sound it makes with the acceleration. I was almost sick and had to ask my friend to slow it down a bit. What a thrill this car is.

I love my Bikes and custom cars too, but thats another story.

Bugatti

Volkswagen AG may introduce luxury car brand Bugatti in India in the middle of 2010. The Bugatti Veyron can touch a top speed of 400 km/hr and is expected to be priced between Rs 5 crore and Rs 12 crore in India. However, Mr Kurt Rippolz, the head of communication at VW India, said that it was up to every independent brand to decide on its India strategy, and refused to confirm Bugatti’s entry into the country.

According to media reports, the German car major is keen on bringing a number of its luxury car brands to India, including Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini. Porsche and Bentley cars are currently imported to India by independent dealers.

However, it may not be economically feasible to bring these cars to the country as completely built units (CBUs). Cars imported to India as CBUs have to go through a process of homologation, which may not be possible in case of high-end luxury products because of the expenses involved and their low sales.

This may change as demand for luxury vehicles in India goes up, which seems likely in the light of the country’s high growth rate and the positive experience of other luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

It’s not just PM Manmohan Singh who drives around in a high-security, bulletproof BMW car. High net worth individuals like that of industrialists, corporate honchos, celebrities, politicians and, the so-called wannabes are warming up to the idea of zooming in special protection vehicles.

Whether it’s for one’s protection or a style statement or just a new high in luxury, the demand for such cars has more than doubled over the past five years. Special protection vehicles (SPV), better known as security vehicles, are built to withstand attacks from grenades, gunfire, and even explosions caused by RDX. The price tags of these SPVs are upwards of Rs 2 crore.

“We get a lot of requests for such cars, but when we tell them the price, people change their mind,” said a director of a luxury car dealership in Bangalore. Luxury car makers Mercedes Benz and BMW are known to be the biggest sellers of such vehicles in India.

Since these cars have to be custom-made at the factory, they are generally imported as completely built units, attracting high import duties. While Mercedes offers three variants of SPVs, the EGuard, S-Guard and G-Guard, BMW offers security variants of its 5-series, X5 series and 7-series cars.

“We received good response from this niche segment. Government and embassies, international delegations, politicians, celebrities and high-profile industrialists are some key customer groups,” said a Mercedes Benz India spokesperson.

BMW did not want to comment on this, citing confidentially clauses it signs with customers. But according to leading English daily around 15% to 25% of BMW’s 7 series sales in India comprise the security variants.

A Toyota official said that despite the company not offering such vehicles, requests pour in. “If a customer does get a Toyota car bulletproofed by a third party, then we will revoke the warranty on the car,” said the official.

Once owned by U.S. actor James Coburn, the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, fetched $11 million at an auction in the luxury sports carmaker’s hometown of Maranello. The proud owner is a British national radio DJ celebrity Chris Evans.
The Ferrari 250 is a sports car built by Ferrari from 1953 to 1964. The company’s most successful early line, the 250 series included several variants. It was replaced by the 275 and the 330.

Designed for export to America, the 1957 250 GT California Spyder was Scaglietti’s interpretation of an open-top 250 GT. Aluminium was used in the hood, doors and trunk lid, with steel specified elsewhere for most models, though a few aluminium-bodied racing versions were also built. The engine was the same as in the 250 Tour de France racing car with up to 240 PS (177 kW; 237 hp). All used the long 2,600 mm (102.4 in) chassis.
45 were made before it was replaced by the SWB version in 1960, and it remains highly valuable for automotive collection, with one example auctioned on August 18, 2007 at Monterey, California for $4.9 million.

Replacing their LWB California Spyder with a SWB version, Scaglietti showed a new 250 GT Spyder California at Geneva in 1960. Based on the 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, it also introduced disc brakes and a 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) version of the 250 V12. About 55 were built.
A fiberglass-bodied replica of a 1961 250 GT Spyder California, based on an MG, was featured in the 1986 hit film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
A record price for a 250 GT at auction was set on May 18, 2008 when a black 1961 SWB example that had been owned by The Magnificent Seven star James Coburn was sold for 6.4 million Euros/£5.5 million/$10,894,900 (€7,040,000 including fees). The buyer was Chris Evans, a British radio DJ.

GfK AG’s sentiment index for November, based on a survey of about 2,000 people, fell to 4 from a revised 4.2 in October, the Nuremberg-based market-research company said in a statement today. That’s the first decline since September 2008. Economists had forecast an t an increase to 4.5 from an initially reported 4.3, the median of 13 estimates in a Bloomberg News survey showed.

Crude-oil prices rose to the highest in a year this month, threatening spending power at the same time as

unemployment increases

. While German

business confidence

rose to the highest in more than a year in October and manufacturing expanded, the expiry of government stimulus measures and a strengthening euro may curb the pace of the recovery next year.

“Despite the slight setback, private consumption remains a major source of support for the German economy this year, since investments and exports will record large decreases at the close of 2009,” GfK said in the report. “It remains to be seen whether private consumption can also fulfill this supportive function in the coming year.”

Spending

GfK’s measure of economic expectations increased to 8.7 from 3.4 in the previous month. An index of income expectations fell to 12.9 from 16 and a gauge of consumers’ propensity to spend dropped to 26.1 from 36.5.

“The propensity to buy has also decreased in the wake of falling income expectations,” GfK said. “One reason for this is certainly the discontinuation of the scrappage bonus at the end of September,” it said, referring to a government incentive to buy new cars.

Revenue at

Volkswagen AG’s

Audi luxury cars division will probably fall less than expected this year, and its German sales will return to “light growth” in 2010, Audi’s sales chief

Peter Schwarzenbauer

said last week.

The stimulus to consumption from low inflation will also “lose its positive impact” in the near future, GfK said. Oil has risen 80 percent this year to around $80 a barrel and consumer price expectations have reached a “turning point.”

Chancellor

Steffen Kampeter

said on Oct. 16.

The Economy Ministry raised its outlook for the economy on Oct. 16, forecasting growth of about 1.2 percent in 2010 after a 5 percent contraction this year. In April, it predicted a 0.5 percent drop in gross domestic product in 2010.

The groundbreaking album was developed by Shlepp Records producer and CEO Stevie Eagle E who has several children of his own. The album was created to bridge the gap between kids and adults without alienating or pratonising either. The result is the number one selling and critcally acclaimed Big songs for little ones (and grown ups too).

Speaking about the project Stars confidential most beauituful Ayi Jihu says ‘I don’t have any kids of my own, but when I was asked to take part in this project I jumped at the opportunity because it was Stevie Eagle E who was producing it. Whatever it was going to be, it was not going to be what was already out there. Now that I have seen the video and heard the album I feel blessed to have been a part of something that I feel will be around and set the benchmark for many years to come.’

The Album apparantly took several years to even get started due to in fighting amongst the executive producers with Stevie Eagle E on the nature of the songs and style of the music. Stevie Eagle E apparantly made it clear that the album would be produced his way or not at all. All that is now forgotten due to the fantastic success of the Album worldwide.

Nicholas Cage, that’s who. Yes, the Face Off actor decided that one, two or three Rollers just weren’t enough for him. Slightly excessive if I do say so myself, but these millionaire movie stars will go over the top. Even Simon Cowell & David Beckham have only got ONE Rolls Royce each – who needs nine?!

Anyway, so now Cagey is suing his former business manager because he’s run out of money, or something. I dunno. Maybe it’s because you blew it on your four yachts, 15 different homes worldwide, a private jet and a private island in the Bahamas!

Presumably he needs a Rolls for each of his 15 homes? So he’ll need to buy another 6. Come on Nicolas you’re slacking! Anyway, it shouldn’t be much of a problem – Moneybags gets paid around $15 million per movie, so it shouldn’t take long to save up again.

I dunno, what’s wrong with a nice little used Ford Focus? Some people are never happy!

Ayi Jihu one of Stars confidential 100 most beautiful women worldwide reveals some of her beauty tip

Ayi Jihu one of Stars confidential 100 most beautiful women worldwide reveals some of her beauty tip to the world. Being one of the world most beautiful and sought after females makes for a very tough life, especially when it comes to the keeping looking good department. Many stars go everywhere with an several people behind them just to make sure they stay looking good at all times in the demanding and unforgiving world of entertainment. However not all stars are able to to that, so what they carry around with them in their handbags is all important.

So what does a star like Ayi Jihu carry in her handbag? We caught up with the Chinese starlet in London and asked her that exact question, here is what she said:

When people ask me what my favourite shop is, I’ve always told them ‘Boots!’ not as a joke, Boots is one of those stores that I visit most frequently, they have everything that you need for everyday use, well for women at least. They always have great deals and the points system is great. I know that in America they probably don’t have Boots, but the point is I don’t go shopping for my make up in fancy department stores. You tend to find the best stuff and the best deals in the good solid local chains that cater to everyone.

After trying many brands of make up, I have a few of my favourites that I carry all the time, These I call my handbag fillers or must have.

A Dior lip gloss, their lip gloss are amazing! Comes in so many different range of colours, I especially like the ultra-gloss reflect range, gives your lips a sexy shine! I’ve tried so many different brands of lip gloss in the past that made my lips dry, I always need to apply a generous amount of lip balm before, but with Dior lip gloss it was already moisturising for my lips, great for when I’m in a hurry, now I never leave without one, at night time I carry a brighter shade that gives me an evening look.

Of course everyone needs a bit of Vaseline, especially at this time in the UK, the windy cold weather makes it easier my lips to crack. Now it comes with ‘rosy lips’ and ‘sun protection’, a little bit more expensive than the original and Aloe Vera, but it’s totally worth it, especially the ‘rosy lips’ smells gorgeous and brings out a natural rosy tones in your lips! It’s also one of those products that just about every make up artists has in their bag of tricks. Vaseline is a must have in every ladies handbag.

I always carry a black soft kohl eyeliner pencil by Rimmel, I love black eyeliners they wake my eyes up as soon as I apply them, the price is very reasonable and they last forever! I usually use pencil eyeliner on my lower eyelids, on my top eyelids I use a black liquid eyeliner by Clinique, I have been using them since the first time I’ve tried them!

They are the best, one coat they last till the end of the night, they don’t smudge, and the shape of the brush makes it extremely easy to apply which means you can’t make a mistake! I don’t even need to bring them out in my bag as I’m confident that they will last. If I want a real dramatic look I apply liquid eyeliner on my lower eyelids, otherwise a pencil one will do for the day time look.

I’m very fussy about the mascara I use, because I think it’s the most important part of the make up, it brings your eyes to live! I can go out without any make up on but mascara is a must! I tend to stick to the brand I know the best, because I’ve made so many mistakes trying out different ones out of curiosity and I end up regretting and going back to what I know.

It’s so hard to find a mascara that will last long, that won’t smudge easily and most importantly can do the job! After I discovered Lancome Hypnose, I fell in love with it, it totally does the job, makes your eyelashes longer and thicker with one application, but it is quite pricy, it’s worth it though.

I’ve also found the next best mascara that does the job at less than half the price is Maybelline XXL volume and length, it takes longer to apply, because you have to apply two coats, the white then the black, but I find the longer you take to apply mascara the longer they look! Great value product!

The last thing I carry is a L’Oreal True Match Powder to cover all the excess shine on the face, it’s so easy to apply and soft, it even comes with a mirror in the compact, makes it even more convenient to use and more reason to buy!

So these six items are a must have for me, they cover all the areas for me personally, of course for everyone it’s different, but for me they do the magic just fine!
