It’s that time again. Are you ready for the shopping blitzes in your local area? As you prep

It’s that time again. Are you ready for the shopping blitzes in your local area? As you prepare for all of the holiday hoopla (good hoopla I must add), just make sure to plan for safety as you plan to hit the shopping malls.

This is one of the perfect times of the year for thieves. You buy it – they steal it. In the process, my prayer to you is that if you are involved in one of these muggings that you are not hurt physically. Mentally I cannot help you, but when it comes to protecting you that is when people decide to call me. I normally recommend a few common sense tips that could truly make a difference in life or death.

* Prepare for your safety. This is a year round planning process, not just when you go to the mall.
* When parking in a shopping center, park near well lit areas.
* Always carry your purse over your shoulder and it front of you, making it more difficult to grab.
* Always carry a keychain pepper spray on your car keys and carry them in your hand until you are in the store, then put them in your bag.
* When you stop your car and park, do not sit around messing with your phone or putting makeup on. This gives a mugger a lot more time to get in your car and rob you.
* Walk with a purpose as you go in to the store and always look around you. Keep an eye on your surroundings.
* If you feel like something is just not right, trust your judgment.
* Never leave your purse, cell phone, IPod or any valuables in the car in plain sight. Don’t make it easy for thieves to break in and steal your identity and home address. This is an easy target for later on.
* Always lock your car.

Like I said, this is all pretty much common sense every day steps that can and should be taken by you. If you do this, you can effectively reduce the chances of you becoming a victim during the holiday season.

When you buy pepper spray, make sure to buy a couple of them. Practice with one so you will know how to effectively protect yourself if a situation does present its ugly head. Always carry a pepper spray with you. Make it a habit. Stay prepared.

Refuse To Be A Victim!

Happy Holidays and by all means Happy Shopping!

Wow, I feel good today. I have in my mind things that have been a burden for me, things like what to do about this or that, things. Like clutter. They’ve been like a messy house up there, hanging out in my body and my mind. Ya well. Suddenly, I’m just making some choices and I’m feeling really good. Really letting go of some things that I had trouble understanding were the very things bringing me down. I like things that are from humanity, that are good for humanity. This is where I get so tripped up with others in the world. Those that are following something else, it tends to make me feel powerless, but when I hear of something that humans come up with that will help humans, this is exciting to me. Dr. Allan Hunter has done one of those things by writing a book about writing your own memoirs. And although he says it can be a long, calm process, I can see it, depending on the person, have much more of a quick effect than he thinks!!! What an exciting day!

An alarming trend is happening in Baltimore City. There has been a spike in sexual assaults. Now Police have some surprising advice. Andrea Fujii (of WJZ – Baltimore) reports police are not taking any chances. Police are telling woman don’t go out after midnight if possible. Police still don’t know who is responsible for the rapes and they don’t know how many men are involved. Police are on edge hoping to prevent the rapes.

Women in East Baltimore are being warned–at least two rapists are targeting the area.

To see the rest of this article here is the link: http://wjz.com/local/tip.line.rapes.2.1323536.html

I will continue to bring this type of warning to my followers. Women need to be prepared. I would first like to say that you should not go out alone late at night. You should always have a companion, but if that is not possible, you must be prepared to protect yourself.

How do you do this? Always, and I repeat ALWAYS, have some type of personal protection with you. You should at least have a pepper spray in your hand an know how to use it should you ever have to.

I would like to think that some of these attacks being reported could have been prevented. Are you prepared? Could you defend yourself if approached by someone?

Mace Pepper Spray is without question one of the better known names in the pepper spray field. You mention the word MACE, and the first thing you probably are seeing in your mind is someone being sprayed in the face by Police or a woman trying to protect herself against a potential mugger or rapist.

Mace Spray comes in an array of sizes, colors and formulations. You can get Mace self defense spray, keychain pepper sprays which are nice to keep on your car key ring. You can buy college pepper spray for your college students to help keep them safe while away from home. This will not only help them but give you piece of mind.

You can buy mace pepper foam that will help minimize overspray and make it hard for the attacker to rub off the foam. The harder they rub the more gets in their eyes. Mace pepper gel is another nice option for keeping overspray to a minimum.

Another very nice mace spray is the mace pepper baton or also known as a kubotan with pepper spray. This is a self defense spray and also a handheld self defense weapon. The mace spray of course is used to spray your attacker but the kubotan gives you the ability to provide strikes against any bony substance on your attacker. For example the kubotan is held securely in your hand and you strike it against the attackers face, head, arm, crotch, leg, etc…, I think you (really the attacker) get the point (a little pun there).

All of these very effective and affordable self defense sprays are NO GOOD, unless you have them on you and are ready to use them to protect yourself against any mook that tries to inflict harm on you.

What are your going to do when they come for you? Buy Mace Pepper Spray today! Practice with it. Become familiar with it. USE IT!!!

‘Does anyone know you are here’ J asked me, watching me sip my wine while he laid on his high rise bed, ‘because I am not so sure about your security system.. you did not seem to ask too many questions about me before traveling so far out.’

I raised my eyebrows and stared at him a bit before looking around. ‘My friend knows where and I am and your name and number and when I should be getting back, but she doesn’t know what it is I am doing here exactly.’

J started to freak me out quite a bit to say the least. He gave me some tips on upping my security which I’ve already done a lot of research on. I also brought my friend’s mace, and the number for the local cab, so I mean, I had some things, but I am just not at the stage where I can get a driver. He ended up giving me some very nice advice. You can never be too careful afterall!

Today, I met with a guy called D who had been made redundant from the advertising agency he worked for. There was something so sweet and kind about him and to hear him talk about it, it just broke my heart. I didn’t really want to ask him for any money, but of course, I am in just of much need of a job.

The whole experience was a nicely erotic one if I’ve ever had one. I think perhaps I am just getting the chance to experience a truly sexual experience in a way i hadn’t really been able to experience before. Perhaps these men I have been attracting have luckily all been the type who believe that if they are paying someone like myself, they may as well make it something memorable, and it seems it just gives them a chance to explore a woman in a much more secure and comfortable way. I mean, they know I won’t judge them for whatever it is they want. Anyway, the bedroom was like a sauna, after a few minutes in the room, I had to leave and change into my garter and get out of my jeans. (I would normally already have the garter on under my outfit, but because I thought I would have time to change I didn’t bother.) I gave him a full body massage, very slow and thorough. I never really have gotten a chance to practice my techniques, so it was a nice opprotunity. He then returned the favor with interest of course. Ice cubes, strawberries, etc. I just never got the chance to do things like this before. I mean, I’ve tried, when I was with The Ex, but I couldn’t take it seriously. When I saw him trying to be romantic and seductive, it just made me laugh. I don’t feel that way with clients though. I truly enjoy the experience and find it unbelieveably erotic.

So far, noe one has been able to perform A levels with me. Is there something wrong with my arse?

In another note: V said I could move into his place, but I haven’t hear anything from him since. Squatters, i’ve found, are very unreliable.

This first track is pure Liquid drum and bass comes from Mace and Solley and its called “Light Up The Darkness”. Its not brand new, but its the first time I’ve heard it. Its that great chilled out D&B sound, but still with some storming bass. If your like this type of thing you are sure to love this. Check it out if you’re not sure.

Mace & Solley – Light Up the Darkness

Next one is a track called “Ride” by a guy called Edward Oberon. Its another Liquid number just as good as the last one. I can’t get enough of those chilled drum and bass, but still with a driving bass line.

Edward Oberon – Ride

Last track is DC Breaks remix of the track “Byrds of Prey” by Bertie Blackman. This one here I think is going to big track, already being pushed by the usual radio DJ, Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Mista Jam. It deserves to be it a great track that could be destined for mainstream success (which is not a bad thing). Download this, I know everyone will love it.

1961.-TO MULL WINE.

INGREDIENTS.- To every pint of wine allow 1 large cupful of water, sugar and spice to taste.

Mode.-In making preparations like the above, it is very difficult to give the exact proportions of ingredients like sugar and spice, as what quantity might suit one person would be to another quite distasteful. Boil the spice in the water until the flavour is extracted, then add the wine and sugar, and bring the whole to the boiling-point, when serve with strips of crisp dry toast, or with biscuits. The spices usually used for mulled wine are cloves, grated nutmeg, and cinnamon or mace. Any kind of wine may be mulled, but port and claret are those usually selected for the purpose; and the latter requires a very large proportion of sugar. The vessel that the wine is boiled in must be delicately cleaned, and should be kept exclusively for the purpose. Small tin warmers may be purchased for a trifle, which are more suitable than saucepans, as, if the latter are not scrupulously clean, they spoil the wine, by imparting to it a very disagreeable flavour. These warmers should be used for no other purpose.

Gaffney state trooper is a pumpkin power-grower

Chris Mace’s search for “The Great Pumpkin” sometimes makes him feel like Linus from the “Peanuts” comic strip.

Linus the cartoon character stakes out the pumpkin patch by moonlight each Halloween, remaining on the lookout for a huge, orange bearer of goodies to treat all good little boys and girls.

Chris Mace's 683-pound pumpkin was not a record-breaker, so he will plant again in the spring.

Mace, a state trooper, puts in an average of three hours daily preparing, planting and tending his patch, hoping to set a pumpkin-growing record. Mace, 34, started growing pumpkins two years ago and is fast approaching his target.

“Just wait until next year,” Mace said after the season’s harvest yielded a 683-pounder — his biggest yet — and a 400-pounder, but no prizes.

Mace is undaunted by this year’s national record — a 1,725-pound behemoth grown by math teacher Christy Harp of Ohio that could take the world title. He has done his homework and is well aware that differences in climate affect the growth of pumpkins, with the Northern region of the United State having the advantage.

Mace studies, reads, talks and now plants Atlantic Giant Pumpkins to get better results.

“This month I start my patch. It’s all organic — nothing synthetic except pesticides and fungicides. I’ll start the seed indoors in April, germinating them under a grow light, and the first of May, I’ll put them in the ground,” Mace said.

The five- to six-month growing period requires watering the pumpkins twice a day, and by July some begin to increase in weight by 30 or so pounds a day.

The fast growers are identified and the vines controlled early, as the watch to protect the potential prize winner is constant.

“My biggest one would have grown more, but I put a tarp over it to protect it from the direct sun. It rained, and the tarp drooped, causing a soft spot. Last month, I had to pull it,” Mace said.

To measure his effort, he began looking for a place to weigh the pumpkin and stopped in to see Kevin Freeman, who owns Freeman Core Supply in downtown Chesnee.

“He kept saying they needed to weigh several hundred pounds,” Freeman said. “Then he said, ‘I know you’ll think I’m crazy, but I have a pumpkin that weighs 700 pounds.’ He was right. I didn’t know what to think at first.”

Freeman drove his F450 truck, and he and Mace used a winch to hoist the pumpkin and carry it to the scales.

“It almost filled the back of my truck. We got it weighed. I’m still amazed,” Freeman said.

Freeman and Mace made photos and video of the weigh-in.

“My wife came down to the store. She wanted to see the big pumpkin. Just think how big the pumpkin might have grown if he hadn’t had to pull it. I’m just glad I could be a part of it,” Freeman said. “I told my mom in Georgia about it. She couldn’t believe it either.”

Mace said his first attempt at growing pumpkins was a stress reliever.

“I still do it for that reason. But it’s the competition, too. The first year I bought a pack of seeds at a local store and grew a 130-pound pumpkin. I read up more on it and learned seeds from other big pumpkins work better. Now, I have seeds available,” he said.

Mace is proud of his efforts to reproduce “The Great Pumpkin” and is optimistic that his continuing research will be beneficial, although currently he has no trophies to attest to his effort.

“I just have to tell people now that my big pumpkin so far was about the size of a Volkswagen, and it’s true,” he said.

With the rising rate of crime it is imperative to keep you and your family safe. Each day on the news one sad story after another is heard. When victims fight back they have a better chance to prevent wrong doing. Not everyone likes the idea of carrying around lethal weapons as a way of protection.. There are alternative self defense devices such as stun guns, pepper sprays, personal alarms, etc.
They also have a line of diversion safes that resemble bottled waters, books, surge protectors, wall outlets, etc. These unique safes allow you to hide valuables inside the disguised safe that resembles a common household object being one of the last places a thief would think to look. Business Force Ltd encourages safety and believes that everyone should be safe, hence the creation of the new website aimed at enabling people to protect themselves and their families in a non lethal way providing stun guns, pepper spray, diversion safes, alarms, car security items, tap/ recording detectors, etc .

I completely lucked into this in a guild 25 Toc

Well to start lets just say that being a Retribution Pally isn’t easy. Pallys are hybrid characters which means we do a lot of things well but nothing really great. (Except fighting Undead; Pallys excel at that.) So as a Ret Pally DPS (damage per second) is the stat you and all other melee DPSers are measured by and against including classes who were designed for dps such as Warriors, Death Knights and Rogues. Of course AOE (area of effect) ranged DPS like Mages, Warlocks and Hunters rack up some serious DPS too. But Ret Pallys melee are measured against the other melee.

In a raid or heroic you’ll never be at the top of the DPS chart; unless you’re in a really weak group. So the first thing that you need to learn as a Ret Pally is to deal with it. That’s the way it is. That doesn’t mean you don’t have lots to offer to the raid (after all you did get invited didn’t you?) but while they appreciate your DPS you may not be invited for DPS alone.

Don’t suffer the horde!

Pepper spray and stun guns are two of the most popular non-lethal self defense devices. Both of thes

Pepper spray and stun guns are two of the most popular non-lethal self defense devices. Both of these devices will instantly stop an attacker, giving you many minutes to get away, but they don’t cause any major or lasing bodily harm. Both come in tiny enough sizes that they can be conveniently carried in your purse. If you’re thinking about buying one of these for personal defense, you may not know which to purchase. Should you opt for a stun gun, or pepper spray?

Stun Guns are very forceful systems of stopping an attacker, however thanks to the electric current running through them, you should be trained before using one. On another note, employing a can of pepper spray is rather like employing a can of spray paint ; simply aim and press the button. Mace pepper spray cans are typically selected by folks who would feel more at ease using a device that is already familiar to them. Whatever you choose, stun gun or pepper spray, be positive that you would feel comfortable using it in an emergency scenario ; if you would not, keeping it with you is of no gain.

A lot of stun devices are required to be placed against your assailant’s skin, meaning you have to be standing next to them in order for it to be effective . On the other hand, pepper sprays have a good distance of up to 15 or perhaps twenty feet, this relies on the model you select. However you must aim the pepper spray at the assailant’s face and have moderately good aim, as the spray direction can feel the effects of wind and rain. Those which produce a wide spray instead of a steady stream are less difficult to use if you are concerned about your aim. Meanwhile, with a stun gun you can place it against any area of the attacker’s body.

One factor to think about when choosing between stun guns or pepper spray is the mear sight of the device before you have actually used it. The mear sight of a stun gun may be enough to deter an attacker without you really needing to use the device. On the other hand, a can of pepper spray is improbable to deter an attacker till it is actually used.

both these devices can, manifestly, be used on a person. However if you go running or otherwise spend lots of time outdoors, you may need to consider self defense devices to protect yourself against wild animals. In such cases, a can of mace spray is likely the better option. It is likely to deter any animals, while stun guns can have many different reactions on animals, and in most cases mean you have to get uncomfortably into close proximity to the animal.

Both pepper spray and stun guns are comparatively cheap methods for self protection, especially when put next to the price of a gun. The amount of money you pay for it can vary significantly depending upon the model you choose, although in the bulk of cases, providing yourself with a stun gun or pepper spray for your safety will cost well less than 100 greenbacks.

generally, both stun guns and pepper spray are legal to have and carry. Call your local police department for any limitations on purchasing, carrying, or using these devices. In jurisdictions where there are such constraints, customarily stun guns are placed under harder limitations than pepper spray.

I’m catching up on my podcast listening. I always check to see if there is a new Pulp Gamer ep

I’m catching up on my podcast listening. I always check to see if there is a new Pulp Gamer episode of any kind first. And sure enough there was a new Out Of Character. In fact there are two. This is feedback on the first – Elder Pronunciation Gods.
The first thing to mention is Ron Blessing is back. This is a good thing. Ron brings good insight as a gamer and retailer to the program.
The first topic covered was Jess Hartley’s new book, Conventions for the Aspiring Game Professional. For those who are aspiring game professionals, this book sounds like a must have. Jess knows what she is talking about in this book. She’s a well respected professional in the gaming industry whose works include these. I’m particularly interested in her World of Darkness books, Innocents and Geist. Geist is talked about more in PGOC 88. Both of these books sound like they would be fun and scary. And I don’t get to play scary very much. If you are a game designer, check this one out.

Jess also mentioned that she is a homeschooler. As a fellow homeschooler it is nice to see the community expand.

There was more talk of Adventures In Oz, a rpg where you play characters in Baum’s world. As I mentioned previously, I would like to get some more info on this one. I’ve not read much of the Oz material but I think it would be fun. And I could play this with my kids. The website has the character creation and a bit of the rules up for download so that you can see what the game is about. There is an interesting mechanic in the game. Combat doesn’t necessarily result in death of one of the combatants as in most games. Here you combat until one gives in. The mechanics seem to support this non-lethal conflict. I’ll need to read more to find out though.

The rest of the episode was responding to feedback and emails. A good portion of this was taken up by me in what they are calling The Tomg Spot. Ha Ha. I even got a big voice intro with an echo. Ron mentioned that he and Veronica will be in my neck of the woods, NC, at MACE. MACE is the local/regional gaming con. It is a sweet con that is devoted solely to gaming. Many of the Savage Worlds folks will be there and they are having a Savage Saturday Night event on – Saturday night. So if you are in the High Point, NC area on Nov. 6-8, come on by.

There was mention of Jeremiah’s game company. As I understand it he is hard at work on a new role playing game, MERP – Middle East Role Playing. JD, you should check that out.

I would be remise if I didn’t mention Hive. Everyone should have a copy of this great two player game.

I will mention that Pulp Gamer is running a ‘bribe’. If you leave a review of Pulp Gamer Out of Character on iTunes you can get a copy of ‘Accent Your Character‘ – PG’s role playing aid to assist you in mastering those United Kingdom type accents. And if you leave a review of one of the other Pulp Gamer shows you can get a digital copy. Very cool. I’m headed over there right after this post.

All in all another good episode.

Throw in some raisins and chopped dates, bring the whole thing to a simmer for a bit. Then stir in a little rice flour. You don’t need a lot. I’d start with a tablespoon, maybe two, let it thicken for a minute, and then add more as needed. It turns into a gummy gruel fairly quickly. Stir in some sugar, sprinkle on some powdered ginger. Consume.

The end result is somewhere between hot cereal and a big steamy bowl of spiced cookie dough. It’s great in the morning as an alternative to oatmeal or cream of wheat, or in the evening if your insomnia makes it difficult to tell your dawn from your dusk…

An excerpt from “Self-Defense”:

I’m also not comfortable telling you that if you choose to defend yourself, a knife is your best option for concealment, quick-strike capability, and efficient disposal of a threat in close quarters. I’m not comfortable telling you that you need a weapon with a good gripping surface, and that you should pay particular attention to how well it fits your hand so that your fingers don’t slide onto the blade during a stab or thrust, or whether the knife has a finger groove for the index finger that will provide no-slip support for either your index finger during a thrusting motion, or your pinky during a stabbing motion, both of which respectively take the majority of the force of the stab during these motions.

I don’t feel comfortable telling you that a good blade design will be one that is decently thick, with the tip being wide enough or strong enough to resist breaking if you were to, say, accidentally punch it into a hard surface such as a brick wall or asphalt, or that the tip of the blade should also be able to easily pierce any part of the human anatomy and be long enough to reach vital organs (3.5-4 inches), nor am I comfortable telling you that your knife should have a strong locking mechanism, because without one you run the risk of severe personal injury to yourself should the mechanism fail or collapse.

Finally, It troubles me to tell you that a fight involving a knife is most always ugly, quick, and messy, and that you should be mentally resolved to strike efficiently and that you should learn beforehand how to use your weapon tactically if you are attacked.

There are no comfortable thoughts on this subject. I can only hope that none of us ever know harm, taken or given.

Referendum 71 Addendum

Normally I’m amused when discovering a new rhyme, but this Referendum 71 abuse is NOT amusing to our LGBTQ community. The reality is that NO ONE is protecting us here in WA State, and NO ONE seems concerned about how these campaigns fan the flames and create MORE ANTI-GAY violence.

Now I can almost hear it – the anti-gay wingnuts who wanna pounce on my use of the term “fan the flames”, since I may be accused (erroneously) of the same.

NOPE.

I advocate self-defense and being able to protect one’s family and children; I am “fanning the flames of self-defense”. This is Queer Empowerment through self-defense and firearm training, since we have churches, individuals, and government itself all working TIRELESSLY against our families.

When churches are allowed by government to terrorize, which is what PROP 8 is a clear example of, we may need to use counter-terrorism as a last resort. Not “terrorism”. COUNTER – TERRORISM.

We have EVERY RIGHT to defend ourselves from religious groups who terrorize my family and limit its DUE civil rights and protections, along with the right to defend ourselves from the government that is complicit in the abuse.

Exactly 10 words to describe myself and explain my capabilities.

Note: I assume everyone is familiar with the definition of visual communication, for anyone who doesn’t, I found this in Wikipedia and I personally think the paragraph explains it very well.

“Visual communication as the name suggests is communication through visual aid… Primarily associated with two dimensional images, it includes: signs, typography, drawing, graphic design, illustration, colour and electronic resources. It solely relies on vision. It is form of communication with visual effect. It explores the idea that a visual message with text has a greater power to inform, educate or persuade a person…a good visual design is based on measuring comprehension by the audience, not on aesthetic or artistic preference. There are no universally agreed-upon principles of beauty and ugliness. There exists a variety of ways to present information visually, like gestures, body languages, video and TV. Here, focus is on the presentation of text, pictures, diagrams, photos, et cetera, integrated on a computer display. Recent research in the field has focused on web design and graphically oriented usability. Graphic designers use methods of visual communication in their professional practice.

Visual communication on the World Wide Web is perhaps the most important form of communication taking place when users are surfing the Internet. When experiencing the web, one uses the eyes as the primary sense and therefore the visual dísplay of a website is important for the users understanding of the communication taking place.”

The objective: To find different approaches in gathering information. One basic way to obtain inform

The objective: To find different approaches in gathering information.
One basic way to obtain information when doing business research is to interview the target audiences. We can approach the audiences directly by doing interviews and ask them straightforward questions; after that we calculate the results, drawn conclusions and make statistics (e.g. average demographic). This is a very good way to do research however, surveying with an indirect approach can be more effective. Collected responses could be more reliable and less guarded.

The surveying we did at the beginning of the induction class on last Friday can be a good example. We were asked to write down the journey of our shoes, mark down different locations our shoes have been and record the time accordingly. The aim of this activity is not purely investigating anything about shoes, but by asking where our shoes have been we knew where exactly each of us were and was doing. Even more, the predictions of shoe’s location after class can tell us the lifestyle and personality of that person indirectly.

There are two important factors to bear in mind when we are doing survey indirectly.

1. Distract audience to get more reflective answers.

When we want to have an honest answer without guarded, ask around the question but lead audiences to the answer. In this shoe survey, out intention was to know each other better in terms of our lifestyles. Instead of asking ‘How are you going to spend your Friday night?’ we asked to predict where out shoe would be until the next day. From the answers we given we can figure out a little bit of that person’s lifestyles. The intention of the survey does not project to us directly until later on we all seemingly know. We give answer fairly honest in this way whereas if we were asked directly ‘How would you spend your Friday night?’ we could be more guarded and reflects bias on the answer.

2. Change targets to talk to.

If we are to improve the image of brand or to bring awareness, it’s worth to change targets to talk to despite the average group. In our shoe survey, the majority of the students started their journey at 8.30 pm, and from 9am most of our shoes were settled down and located in the same classroom. There are couple of students have a different journeys, but when we further investigate once again, we found out the other special locations of the shoes however what we truly found is how did they spend their day where supposingly they should be in the class. By talking to the odds we found out more about the respondents and the details we tends to miss. In some cases, getting information in an indirect way can achieve unexpected results.
