ELECTROROCK : WAXDOLLS/HADOUKEN!/KAP BAMBINO/CULTURE PROPHET/THE SUBS

Un post un peu spécial, spécial electrorock en fait. Culture Prophet, à l’origine un duo qui a commencé en 2005, c’est maintenant un trio. Grosse saturation, comme dans “Hustler”, la track qui représente bien le type de son qu’ils font. Culture Prophet, sont américains. Petite description qui vient tout droit de la fan page facebook (maintenant officielle, l’ancienne qui ne l’était pas à été supprimé) : “The band’s live sets are raucious, sonic slabs of sound that guarantee all-night dancing, drinking, and debauchery.” J’oubliais, ils sortent un nouvel EP dans le mois à venir et sera disponible sur iTunes, emusic et Amazon.

On continue, et ça faisait longtemps, avec des Belges. Oui les Belges ont vraiment une scène electro de fou, la preuve avec les trois prochains groupes qui suivent : The Subs, Waxdolls et Hadouken!

Waxdolls, c’est un groupe récent, qui est né je crois en 2008, et qui vient de Ghent. Ils se décrivent comme un groupe Electropunk (ça me rappelle un duo masqué à la bonne époque). Toutes les tracks de ce post proviennent de l’album “High Speed Killer Ride”, qui date de 2009. (Ils auraient apparemment plutôt bien retourné le Fight Klub -Bruxelles- lors de leur passage et prépare un nouveau live)

A écouter chez soit, dans son mp3, c’est pas ce qu’il y a de mieux. Et pourtant, si vous n’avez jamais vu The Subs en live, vous ne pouvez pas connaître la puissance de leurs tracks ! En live, c’est vraiment fou, et le chanteur l’est d’ailleurs. Les deux tracks qui font shaker du booty sont ici, et proviennent de l’album “Subculture”. Et regardez le clip de “My Punk”.

Je parlais tout à l’heure du Fight Klub, et la prochaine soirée, pas celle de demain, mais celle d’après, sera avec Hadouken! en DJ set. Tu veux de quoi te donner envie d’y aller ? Ok, pas de soucis. “M.A.D”, est leur EP le plus connu je pense, même si le remix de Noisia de “Crank it Up” l’est pas mal. “M.A.D” est folle (jeu de mot un peu naze), et regardez aussi le clip qui porte bien son nom et assez drôle.

Kap Bambino, est-ce que j’ai vraiment besoin de les présenter ? Eeeeet oui, c’est des Français, des Bordelais pour être plus précis. Ils ont commencé en 2001 et depuis ne s’arrête plus, puisqu’ils ont sorti il y a peu un album “Blacklist” et un EP “Dead Lazers” (avec le remix de Birdy Nam Nam qui déchire). Voici donc deux tracks, et attention à la 2ème partie de “More Machine” qui fait mal.

Kort introduktion til projektet:

Projektets primære fokus er at udvikle en sensor til direkte måling af åndedrættet, som direkte indikator for både luftveje og vejrtrækning. Målingerne skal foregå vha. en trådløs enhed der kan påsættes den tilskadekommende. Produktet skal bruges i akutte tilfælde: efter opperation, i ambulancer eller ved større trafikulykker.

I øjeblikket kan målingen kun ske ved direkte observation, hvorfor det er meget tidskrævende.

Det sekundære fokus ligger på at gøre systemet åbent skalerbart og skabe en platform, så tredjeparts sensorer kan integreres. Der arbejdes på en open source platform.

Innovationstype:

Der er tale om en produktinnovation, som kan karakteriseres som værende inkrementel. Der er tale om et nyt produkt, men ikke en radikal ny måde at udføre målingerne på. Den teknologi der udnyttes er allerede kendt (BKSV’s accelerometer og trådløs kommunikation), men kombinationen er ny. Innovationens fokus er på komponentniveau, men visionen sigter mod en platform. Innovationen kan derfor karakteriseres som værende ”New to the enterprise”.

Innovationens teknologiske udfordringer:

Ser vi innovationen i forhold til de tre faser i IM side 40, vurderer vi at man ligger mellem første og anden fase (fluid og transitional). Der er allerede udført pilotundersøgelser på Linköping Universitet, som viser at vejrtrækningsmålinger kan udføres ved hjælp af teknologi baseret på accelerometre. Samtidig har man hos BKSV allerede udviklet et accelerometer, som har en høj præcision. De trådløse teknologier der fokuseres på er Bluetooth og WiFi. Innovationen kan derfor karakteriseres som værende pull. Derfor vurderer vi ikke udfordringer i forhold til teknologien som værende af stor usikkerhed.

Marked:

I ansøgningen tales der sekundært om at udvikle en open source arkitektur og åben protokoller til trådløs kommunikation og integration af målinger indenfor sundhedsvidenskab. Dette ser vi to problemer i. For det første findes der allerede enheder til medicinske målinger, f.eks. LifePack 12, som også nævnes i ansøgningen. For at denne åbne arkitektur skal slå igennem, skal den benyttes af andre spillere på markedet. Der er ingen deltagerne i projektet fra branchen indenfor udvikling af sundhedsudstyr. Samtidig er hovedfokus i projektet ikke på den åbne standard, men i stedet på den konkrete enhed til måling af luftvejskomplikationer. Derfor stiller vi spørgsmålstegn ved visionen omkring denne åbne standard. Vi er derfor bange for at produktet vil få svært ved at blive integreret i sundhedsvæsnet, hvis det ikke integreres med andre produkter.

Brugerinddragelse:

Projektet vil inddrage i forbindelse med paticipatory design og bruger evaluering i en realistisk kontekst. Falk, som driver størstedelen af Danmarks ambulancedrift, inddrages som en aktiv spiller i udviklingen, hvilket vi vurderer som værende meget positivt, da det er med til at sikre brugerinddragelse gennem hele projektet.

Jeg beklager mine meget lidt modeorienterede indlæg for tiden, men det skal nok blive bedre! Hvis der er noget I gerne vil se mere eller mindre af, så sig endelig til.

Ovenfor ses min lækre aftensmad – med blitz! Den består af meget lækkert italiensk brød fra min lokale pizza-pusher beklædt med ost og varmet i ovnen, lidt skinke, salat, frisk rødkål, tomat og hjemmelavet dressing; græsk yoghurt, salt, peber, sukker og et skvæt citron. Delicious!

Jeg lover at der i morgen kommer et billede af “Dagens outfit”, so stay tuned!

In talking with many of our customers, I’m often amazed by the number of good folks in the “MAGIC Kingdom” who still don’t fully realize what a significant shift in technology the MEDITECH Advanced Technology now shipping in (parts of) Client/Server version 6.x represents. Some have even been led to believe 6.x is just another run-of-the-mill ring release that you migrate to after C/S 5.6. I’ve spoken with a few beta sites and early adopters who might beg to differ. For the sake of this post however, let’s concentrate on the new MEDITECH Advanced Database (MAD). I want to highlight a few of the differences between the MAD and its predecessor (NPR) and since there is much to say on this topic, I’m going to break this into parts I and II. In part I, we’ll look at the structure and design of the new database.

For starters, whereas the MAGIC/NPR database was termed “hierarchical,” the new Advanced Database is best described as “chronological” or “append-only,” which (in English) means that nothing is ever overwritten or deleted from it. Most databases think in terms of add, insert or delete. With MAD, you really just add. There’s a slogan in there somewhere. In order to illustrate how the MAD stores data, consider the following screenshot:

The highlighted section in the top half of the structure represents an initial entry in the MIS Directions Dictionary, where the facility of LAB has been created along with three corresponding applications, .DFT, LAB and PCS. The lower un-highlighted section represents records that were later added due to an edit of the .DFT application and its schedule. The advantage to this type of data storage is that it produces the mother-of-all audit trails. A record of every addition, edit and deletion is stored, complete with the initials of the user responsible for each entry. The downside would seem to be the size of the database and how much larger it could potentially grow as more edits and deletions are made. By the way… if you’re a old MAGIC programmer, you’ve probably realized you can still feel your way around a structure like this.

Keep in mind, when a program reads data from a chronological database, it has to essentially parse through the entire structure, so as more edits are made over time and the structure grows, you could pay a performance penalty. At the same time, MEDITECH has implemented several tricks and techniques to make the reading of this type of file more efficient than it would appear to be at first glance. In fact, MEDITECH has a special service program called ANP that has been highly optimized for reading from and writing to the MAD and it’s the ONLY program that is allowed to do so. As a final word on performance, it’s safe to say your mileage may vary by application because some apps are more edit-intensive than others.

I hope this has provided you with a basic introduction to the new database structure and how it stores data as compared with its predecessor, NPR. In part II, we’ll look at some other differences between the two database technologies. As always, your comments and questions are welcome. There is a book titled ‘THE LEGENDS OF KERALA’. In one story a wandering Brahmin called Vararuchi takes a tribal woman with him and she bore twelve children by him. As soon as a child is born, she is told to leave it by the wayside and they proceed on. To the question: how it will survive, the Brahmin would say: if it has a mouth ,it would be fed; do not look back.

The first baby was brought up by a Namboodiri family (Mezhathol Agnihotry-the family is still there) and he became a Namboodiri. Another was a famous carpenter – Perunthachan. Among the rest was the lunatic of Naranath who captivated me as a singular personality.

Like his father, he was a wanderer. At night he would rest in a smashan, where dead bodies are burnt. Not to waste the fire, he cooked rice there. In a cool night, enjoying the warmth of the fire, he slept soundly after a day of continuous wandering.

That night, Bhadrakali, during her nocturnal trip, was surprised to find a human being and was naturally curious. In spite of her fierce shouts, she failed to rouse the stranger. Somehow he woke up and shouted back, Who is this mad woman? The Goddess was immensely pleased with the sheer daring of the man and wanted to bestow a boon; but the man refused, saying he would accept no favours either from man or God. For both it became a prestige issue. At last, the man relented. He said: I have elephant-foot on my left side; you may transfer it to my right side!

It was his pastime to roll a stone up the hill and throw it down. Watching it tumble down, he claps his hands and laughs. The hill, supposed to be his favourite haunt, is near Shoranur. On the first day of the Malayalam month of Thulam, thousands of pilgrims go up the hill. `I had been there a couple of times. It rains and the path is dangerously slippery. Yet, I enjoyed it.

I am mad. How else can I dare to write such fantastic nonsense? A lunatic is free of all inhibitions. He sees Nature as God made it. He does not worry about what is written in the text book. The greatest book is Nature. READ IT CAREFULLY without missing the punctuation. Accurate observation and logical thinking are the two pillars of knowledge. Science is nothing but the search for TRUTH.

Originally there should have been 100 tons of clay showing huge clay cube. But what happened? It collapsed, all this huge clay cube. Then somebody got brilliant idea. Let’s citizen of Helsinki (Finland) make their own art from that clay. That was nice idea, because about 1300 persons made their own art and guess if it was a great success. / Originalmente la idea era hacer de 100 toneladas un inmensa cubo de arcilla. ¿Pero que sucedió? Se derrumbó el cubo de arcil. Entonces alguien recibió una idea brillante. Se permita que ciudadanos de Helsinki (Finlandia) hagan su propia arte de arcilla. Una idea genial. Aproximadamente 1300 personas hizieron su propia arte y eso fue un gran triunfo. / Au début il aurait dû avoir 100 tonnes de d’argile pour faire une un énorme bloc cube d’argile. Mais qu’est-il arrivé ? Il s’est effondré, tout ce énorme cube d’argile. Alors quelqu’un a obtenu une idée génial.Laissez les citoyens de Helsinki (Finlande) faire leur propre art de l’argile. Cela était l’idée brillante parce que a peu près 1300 personnes a fait leur propre art. Vous pouvez bien deviner que c’était un grand succès.

Den ene har jeg kendt til længe, og den anden har jeg lige fundet, fordi jeg “faldt over” denne artikel, som endda er fra sidste år, der fortæller om Cookstr, hvor stjernekokke som Nigella Lawson, Anthony Bordain og Jamie Oliver lægger deres opskrifter ud. Man kan søge på den kok hvis opskrifter man ønsker eller efter sværhedsgrad, sæsson, tilberedningstid og meget mere. Hvis du har problemer med de udenbys mål, kan du omregne lige her.

Et andet site med også masser af opskrifter fra mindst lige så mange kokke er BBC’s Food site. Her finder du udover også Jamie Oliver og Nigella – bl.a. One of them I’ve known for a long time and the other I’ve just found stupling upon an article in a Danish newspaper that’s from last year, that is about Cookstr, where famous chefs like Nigella Lawson, Anthony Bordain og Jamie Oliver is sharing their recipes. It’s possible to search on the chef you want or level, seasson, preparation time and much more.

another site that also has a lot of recipes from just as many chefts is BBC’s Food site. Here you’ll find Anisley Harriot, Anthony Worrall Thompson og Gordon Ramsay, as well as Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver just to mention a few.. A lovely site, I have used often. Have a look and get inspired.

My laced skort.

I met this stylist a few months back. He had some cute clothes on racks for sale. Me and my bestfriend scoured through them taking the potentials out and weighing the pieces of clothing against our bodies and looking for each others apporval. I’m crazy for skorts and there was this cute skort (skirt+shorts=skort) I had my eye on, but the price was pretty hefty and the waist 2 sizes too large. I closed in on the stylist and asked if he had a smaller one and he replied no, but the one I was holding could fit me. Hmmm, I thought. I told him that I did not like it hanging 0.5 inches above my crotch and that it would be better if I wore it as a highwaisted skort. He told me, “If you want to be in style, you have to dress up to date, and low-waisted is up to date.” That bold statement totally caught us of guard, but then fashion is subjective, still, got me and my bestfriend steering clear from him. The skort? Left it on the rack for another girl to buy.I’ll come back 2 seasons later … maybe.

Denne pie er inspireret af en opskrift fundet i et ugeblad for mange, mange år siden. Det er en pie uden dej og den smager godt. Jeg har tænkt at prøve at lave flere sjove varianter af den snart, men her “originalen”. Der er kun lavet om på den flydende del af fyldet, som er fromage frais højst 0,5%. Det kan du bare udskifte med fløde, så har du originalen.

1 spsk olivenolie
2 spsk. salt
116 g Fromage Frais eller lign. max. 0,5%
2 tsk. oregano
½ tsk. karry (tilføjet af mig)
3 æg
583 g courgetter (skulle være 800 g, men det går an)
60 g Revet ost – her Cheasy 10%

Et tærtefad smøres med olie og ovnen tændes på 200 grader.

Courgetterne rives og vendes med saltet og står i en halv time. Kom i sigte og skyld under koldt vand. Lad dryppe af og vrid oveskydende vædske fra med hænderne. Pisk æg med Formage Frais og krydderier og 1/3 af osten. Jeg følger jo Weighwatchers program og hvert stykke tærte (4 stk.) er 2,5 points.

**Tip: Min ovn giver altid årsag til at bagetiden nedsættes og den snyder mig ofte selvom jeg sætter uret tidligere end angivet. Således også idag. Den fedtfattige ost bliver hurtig brun og skulle evt. have været på de sidste minutter. Her har tærten fået 10 minutter mindre end angivet. Så hold godt øje og put evt. først osten på til sidst. Bon appetit.

She is not attractive. Why does he like her? I am better than her. I dread every minute of her presence.

Snotten render, det regner og jeg gad ikke cykle til Fisketorvet. Fakta måtte holde for. Jeg ramte et godt tidspunkt, så det gik endda. Men hold da op, jeg ikke gider deres pålæg udvalg.

Og mens jeg stod og tænkte at jeg hellere ville have noget andet pålæg og sendte glade tanker til Føtex, slog det mig: Jeg interesserer mig bare ikke for mad. Punktum. Det rager mig en høstblomst. Hvis jeg kunne overleve uden at spise, gjorde jeg det nok, for så slap jeg for at tænke over hvad jeg kunne tænke mig.

Jeg kan nemlig ikke tænke mig noget, når det kommer til mad. Jeg er totalt ligeglad. Og alligevel vil jeg have et andet udvalg end hvad Fakta har. Det handler nok bare om at jeg keder mig med det udvalg. For når jeg går i Føtex panikker jeg over udvalget. Det er helt horribelt så mange slags af det samme pålæg man kan få der.

Jeg ønsker mig et køleskab, der fylder sig selv op.
