Gamespot.com is always the first one to crack the shell, and they’ve done it again with Mafia II ! 15 minutes of gameplay footage are available for you to watch. I’ve noted down some stuff too !

Ok, so this will definitely be better than The Godfather 2 by a long shot. Here are some stuff I’ve noticed in the video :

• It has realistic car dynamics. Meaning that it’s snowing in the city, and when you’re going at 50mph you’ll slide on the road when you take a turn

• It’s graphics are superb. Lots of detail into everything, just like the guy said. The atmosphere is very suggestive : a post WWII fictional American city that’s struggling to cope with the recession

• It’s got some cool cars of that age

• It’s got some cool animations

• Awesome Hollywood quality voice acting

• Destroyable environment (Bullets destroying tiles on the wall, pillars, crates etc.)

• I’ve also noticed that the camera can get frustrating in close spaces, such as a stairwell (b)

• Cars blow up too soon when fired upon (b)

• Awesome GTA : IV cover mechanics

• Already fixed, non-customizable character (b)

• Awesome story

Those are just some stuff I’ve noticed. But I can’t wait to check out this game ! The video is stunning as well ! You should check it out !

The release date hasn’t been established yet. But it’s gonna be released some time in 2010.

Publisher Take Two announced that four games have been delayed to the beginning of year 2010. The games are Max Payne 3, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock 2 and Mafia 2.

“The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2. We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.
As a result, we will now be launching sequels to several of our strongest franchises – including BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption – during the next fiscal year. These titles will anchor our lineup for fiscal 2010, and along with other products planned for next year, provide a platform for enhanced financial performance in what we hope will be an improved retail environment.”

This year’s E3 has hosted another bastion of gaming stuff for PC and consoles alike.

We’ve had our share of interviews, articles, trailers, gameplay footage and things like that.

Assassin’s Creed 2 brings us a new  hero, this time, not in the Holy Land, but in Italy. More precisely, in Venice. From the videos we’ve seen, it’s awesome. It’s breathtaking. It’s much more improved. This game takes sandbox  games to a new level. Not only does our hero have new combat moves, new weapons, new assassination methods, but he can also climb, shimmy and jump on just about anything there is ! You can climb the highest tower in Venice and see the whole city ! The possibilities are endless !

I believe that this game is going to refine the flaws of its predecessor, and with its upgraded top-notch graphics, it’s going to be a bomb of pure awesome.

Another anticipated title, and one of my favorite, is Modern Warfare 2. Oh yes ladies and gents, we’ve covered it over, and over, and over, and over, and over again here on our blog. Personally, I think this game is going to get a 10.00/10.00. There are lots of sites that go extremely deep into the game, predicting its success and leaking features. I’ve seen everything there currently is to see about the game : and it’s going to be great ! First there was the nerve-etching teaser, then the trailer, then the E3 footage. Modern Warfare 2 takes the first of the sequel’s story and kind of continues it in an indirect way. Lots of new weapons, traits, missions, features, the most anticipated being the co-op mode. I have full confidence that it’s going to be an awesome game, if not the best FPS game there ever was.

Then there is BioShock 2. Not much is known about the game. We’ve seen the trailer, the gameplay footage, some interviews, and we think that it’s going to be extremely refreshing. In BioShock 2 you play as the first Big Daddy ever, protecting.. or killing the ‘lil sisters for the ADAM. While the game does look better than the first one, and some new stuff has been added, could the players possibly stand going back to Rapture again ? Are the clichés too overwhelming ? We’ll see.. but I just hope it has a success.

And now we talk about the revered Beyond Good and Evil 2. I loved the first of the series, and I just hope it’s gonna be way better. I mean from the teaser that we’ve seen, the graphics are back to modern standards, but little if not almost nothing is known about the story, where it’s taking place etc. Then there’s this possible gameplay footage (scroll down a bit) on youtube, which looks like it’s real.. but it’s not known yet if it’s just concept art. Some say it’s a trailer.. but Ubisoft didn’t comment anything about this. Anyways, I can’t wait for more information. Once we get it, we’ll definitely post !

The anticipated Diablo 3 announced at Blizzcon looks spectacular. New classes have been introduced, and who doesn’t miss bashing countless monsters and picking up stuff from Diablo and Diablo 2 ? I personally never played them, for I am not attracted to games with early graphics. However, I am looking forward to playing this.

We’ve talked a little about Mafia 2, and we’ve put it head to head with the already released Godfather 2. Apparently, The Godfather 2 put up a poor display and EA released yet again another flop. But we shall see how this game will fare ! From what we’ve seen, it looks cool. Don’t know much about it, but appearances can be deceiving ! I sure hopes it kicks EA’s butt !

Blizzard is famous for it’s Starcraft, and Starcraft II has been announced. I can’t really remember where or when I played Starcraft, but I did enjoy it. I’m looking forward to playing this one.

Finally there’s Black Mesa, a drastically improved version of the original Half Life. Graphics are way better, but we once again play as Gordon Freeman, a scientist in a secret complex where something went terribly wrong. We’ve played almost all Half Life games, and we sure as hell can’t wait for this one.

Overall, 2009 and 2010 are gonna be big years for the PC. Let’s hope they’re all gonna be awesome !

Mafia 2 is an upcoming third person shooting video game that is the sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. Being developed by 2k Czeck, previously known as illusions softworks, this game will feature a completely open-ended game map that has no restrictions right from the start of the game.

The story outlines the character of the son of a poor immigrant, Vito who is soon moved by the lure of power and wealth that a life of Organized Crime can bring.

The gameplay begins as the player takes the role of Vito who rejoins with his old friend, Joe Barbaro, and enters in battle against three crime factions: the Falconi, Vinci and Clemente families. Together, they will work to prove themselves to the Mob as they try to make their names on the streets of a cold and unforgiving city. The game will include multiple situations where the player can decide the outcome and their choice will lead to one of several different endings. The game engages the players in a cinematic Hollywood movie experience in a living, breathing city, fusing high octane gunplay with white knuckle driving and an engaging narrative.

Mafia 2 immerses players in the late 1940s mob underworld, where they come across robberies, gangsters, and gunfights. They must be ready to tackle their opponents with their weapons and combat moves. With better graphics and freedom for players to move around the city for hunting, Mafia 2 seems to be ahead of its previous Game release in terms of the gameplay.

Il primo titolo “Mafia” per Pc ha fatto un successo incredibile, peccato però che non si possa dire lo stesso per la versione uscita per le console, che non ha riscosso tutto il successo sperato! Mafia 2 “dicono”, non avrà la stessa sorte del primo capitolo, soprattutto perchè gli sviluppatori si sono attrezzati al massimo per riprodurre emozionanti grafiche, che si equivarranno sia su Pc che su console. Anche in Mafia 2, la storia che rivivrai ti verrà presentata con dei bellissimi video realizzati alla perfezione. Uno dei punti forti di Mafia 2 è il livello dei dettagli di tutti i personaggi, che sembrano praticamente persone vere, ma non è tutto perchè l’attenzione hai dettagli, anche a quelli più piccoli, si è rivolta anche agli scenari, ai vestiti, agli arredamenti, che in Mafia 2 saranno gli stessi identici che venivano utilizzati realmente negli anni in cui il gioco è stato ambientato. La città di Mafia 2 non esiste in realtà, ma è un mix tra San Francisco, New York e altre grandi città, perchè, i poggettisti hanno pensato bene di ricreare una bellissima città virtuale, che però raggruppasse tutti i più bei aspetti delle vere città esistenti. Sono stati curati molti altri piccoli dettagli in Mafia 2, come per esempio la presenza dell’indicatore di benzina realmente funzionante nell’auto, che dovrai tener sott’occhio per non rimanere a piedi, magari quando sei in fuga dalla polizia. Naturalemnte i veicoli si possono rubare, e sarai tu a decidere in che modo farlo, se aprendo ad arte lo sportello, o scassinandolo e rompendo un vetro per esempio… Se la seconda opzione è quella che più ti aggrada, stai ben attento perchè un’auto con dei danni attira la polizia, quindi cerca di affinare le tue doti di scasso affinchè siano più stilose possibili!!

Jako by šedá obloha posledních dní chtěla kontrastovat s rozžhaveným plechem, po kterém poslední dobou klouže jedna zajímavá věc za druhou. Původně jsem se chtěl delší dobu rozplívat na E3 trailerem na moji milovanou (je to opravdu láska) Mafii 2. Ale člověk si uvědomí, že je to stejně jedno. Nejúdernější tóny klavíru od prvního Ježíšovo koncertu. Děkuji.

Dneska jsem v Mercury České Budějovice potkal smutného chameleona. Byl zavřený ve svém akvariu a nervózníma očkama (kde je nějáká vědecká práce o přenášení lidských emocí na zvířata?) pozoroval tuny hlučného plebsu valícího se chodbou. Bylo to poprvé v mém životě, co mi bylo líto plaza a už po několikáté v mém živote, co jsem si uvědomil jak moc nesnáším velké megaobchoďáky.

Bez plazů a hlavně bez CeltX zveřejnil Clive Young svůj výběr prográmků sloužících k napsání scénáře. Jména jako Plotbot a Zhura jsou v našich končinách neznámé /není divu CeltX je opravdu detailní a intuitivní program/, ale to vůbec neznamená, že by nestály za vyzkoušení. Takže mladí psavci (teď možná oslovuji i své alterego, které se chystá konečně příští týden opět usednout nad klávesnici a napsat scénář k novému filmíku) určitě vyzkoušejte a porovnejte. Clive se mýlí dost zřídka.

Ale obloukem zpět k E3. Mafie neměla letos nejlepší trailer. První místo jí v mých očích vyfoukla jiná srdcovka. The Old Republic možná bude herně zábavná jako mlácení hlavou o zeď nářků (nebo jako WoWzZz), ale trailer…takhle silné SW pocity jsem neměl od té doby, co jsem poprvé slyšel o rozkazu 69. PARA HACER UN SEGUIMIENTO COMO DEBE SER A LA FERIA DEL E3 DE LOS ÁNGELES, OS RECOMIENDO ENCARECIDAMENTE QUE OS DEJÉIS INFORMAR POR LOS CRACKS DE GAMETRAILERS

Mira que soy de los que les gusto GTA4, pero hay que reconocer que el juego de 2k pinta de cojones para convertirse en el rey de los sandbox. La ambientación años 40 con mafia y ese estilo de tipos malos me atrae, el apartado grafico esta bastante bien si cumple con lo mostrado en los videos. Rezo todos los dias a Chuck norris porque el gameplay este a la altura.

Lo que mas temo es el mimo que pongan a la ciudad, algo en lo que GTA4 se desmarca de sus competidores, es un placer retomar el juego cada cierto tiempo, pillar un Hummer y armar un caos en liberty city. Si hacen un metropoli como take2 manda, sold.
