Peace at last, now where was I?

I really want to do the rest of my sketch book whilst sitting in bed…. it sucks that there is a tonne of Magazines and paper work all over it! maybe I will just put it on the floor neatly and snuggle into bed then continue with my work?? coming in…?

I have been doing my sketch book for so long now my back hurts, and I guess I’m doing ok, not to mention trying to do draw whilst Leicester (the cat) is eating my pencil… or trying to stick things down when Leicester is licking the pritt stick or jumping onto my page…he is driving me crazy!

alvin lustig deseñou varias portadas para a revista sobre arte, literatura e música chamada ‘perspectives’. a revista, orixinalmente editada en estados unidos, tivo unha versión en alemán que conservaba o mesmo deseño que a orixinal.

entre os colaboradores para a revista figuraban escritores como william faulkner ou william carlos williams. diste último autor o propio alvin lustig deseñou portadas dos seus libros na editorial new directions.

para a mesma revista realizaron portadas deseñadores como paul rand ou herbert bayer.

as portadas de alvin lustig para os números 1 e 5 mostran unha clara influencia das experiencias do arte concreto suizo dos mesmos anos, representado en autores como max bill, richard p. lohse, marcel wyss ou verena loewensberg (+), moitos deles tamén deseñadores gráficos e habituados a un trasego fluido de experiencias entre arte e deseño, baseándose nuns principios afastados de dogmas disciplinares, e nos que a arte e o deseño, ademáis da arquitectura, eran ferramentas complementarias cunha clara vocación funcional e de servicio á sociedade.

Nous constatons dans le monde entier que, lorsqu’on part en vacances, on peut aller visiter des jardins et pas seulement pour y aller voir les plantes et leur mise en scène dans l’espace mais que ces lieux abritent aussi des animations culturelles telles que : des concerts, des expositions, des défilés de mode… Ces animations attirent aussi bien la population locale que les touristes. Il arrive souvent que ce soit le cachet de ces jardins, la qualité de leurs paysages, leur histoire et programmation qui soient à l’origine de l’attraction du public. On pourrait donc s’aventurer à avancer qu’il y a aussi un tourisme des jardins. Dans certains pays les gens font la queue pour visiter des jardins comme ils le font devant les monuments historiques ou comme ils le feront pour des concerts de musique. Il y a incontestablement une économie qui allie culture, nature et jardin. C’est le domaine de l’écotourisme.

Le Maroc est un pays qui a choisi le tourisme comme l’un des vecteurs majeurs de son développement. Nous avons donc choisi pour cette raison, dans le cadre de Jardin’art 2009, d’organiser sur le thème «Jardin et écotourisme» une table ronde. Elle a permi de s’interroger sur la nécessité de la mise en place d’une véritable stratégie du tourisme des jardins au Maroc.

Il est possible dans l’avenir que les pays qui ne respectent pas leur environnement soient désertés par les touristes. Aussi convient-il de recycler les eaux usées tout comme il faudra faire des efforts pour ramasser les déchets, contrôler l’usage de l’eau et encourager le développement des espaces verts. On observe en effet une réduction des arrivées de touristes dans certains pays. Le touriste est tout à fait en mesure de sanctionner l’hôte qui ne respecterait pas ses engagements en matière de normes d’accueil. Le tourisme est, à mon avis, une sorte de contrat tacite entre le touriste et l’hôte et chaque partie a l’obligation de respecter ses engagements. Le respect par l’hôte de son environnement deviendra fatalement un gage de qualité et participera à l’image du pays d’accueil. C’est arrivé déjà pour des pays qui ne respectent pas les droits de l’homme et qui sont devenus pour les touristes des pays infréquentables. Cela arrivera aussi si l’on ne se préoccupe pas de la protection et de la mise en valeur de notre environnement et de nos jardins.
Le Maroc a la chance d’avoir des richesses naturelles diversifiées. Il dispose aussi d’un ensemble important de jardins à travers le royaume. Ce patrimoine n’est malheureusement pas toujours entretenu dans les normes. L’absence d’entretien de ces jardins, de logistique d’accueil du public ainsi que l’inexistence de dispositif de communication et de stratégie d’animation de ces sites créent une espèce de manque de visibilité de ce patrimoine qui n’attire pas l’engouement du public. Tout un patrimoine écologique constitué de jardins et de sites historiques paysagés n’attendent que leur restauration et leur mise en valeur pour devenir de véritables destinations éco touristiques.

Les différents échanges qui ont eu lieu à l’occasion de cette table ronde entre les spécialistes participants ont constitué un des moments forts de Jardin’art 2009.
A « Jardins du Maroc, jardins du monde» nous sommes convaincus du rôle et de la place des jardins dans la culture. Les jardins sont le reflet des civilisations qui les ont vu naître. Ils peuvent devenir un moyen efficace du rayonnement de ces cultures. Les jardins sont incontournables dans une stratégie de médiation culturelle d’un pays car ils ont la capacité de fédérer des publics d’âges, d’origines géographiques et culturelles différents.

Pour le Maroc, l’avenir du tourisme est dans l’écotourisme. Les jardins du Maroc sont une niche qui peut contribuer avec efficacité à l’amélioration de l’offre touristique du pays. Reste à inventorier ces jardins, les entretenir avec exigence, les doter de structures d’accueil, former leurs jardiniers et animateurs, encourager les professionnels du tourisme à les inclure dans les circuits à travers le pays. Il est aussi souhaitable que les pouvoirs publics et les élus créent de nouveaux jardins et encouragent et soutiennent le secteur privé dans la création de nouveaux jardins ouverts au public.

I have been VERY depressed lately.  I feel like I have no time, no control over what I do, no place I want to be.  I’ll have to just bide my time until Wednesday when I get paid.

I’ll be making an appointment to see my mom’s psychiatrist soon.  I’m glad there is someone out there who will know my family and all the things that have happened to us and what’s wrong with us.  My aunt went home today until January, and I can see the next month being very hard for me and my mother.

I got up today and drove my boyfriend to work.  I went to Target after and bought sunglasses because I left mine at home.  Home was definitely on the way to my mom’s house but I wear cheap sunglasses anyway.

I did some grocery shopping for her, had a late lunch, and we cried a whole lot.  I drove my aunt to the airport, and went to Kroger after to pick up bandaids, light bulbs, and some other random stuff.  I cut myself on stupid stuff all the time and I never have bandaids, so now I’m excited that I do.

I came back here and decided that I think I’m not girly enough and that magazines might help me, so I’m going to try to do things out of magazines…  like actually wear more than foundation for a change, lol.  Maybe there’s another lifestyle out there that I haven’t tried that might make me happy.  I’m going to start by watching some popular tv shows, I guess to be exposed to something different.

My mom gave me an ativan today and I have no idea if it worked.  They will probably give that to me at the doctor’s.  Anxiety is probably my biggest enemy.

Sometimes I feel like there is so much going on that I’m going to blow up.

I’m going to fill in my profile I guess.  I’ll watch those shows and see what’s up, maybe write about it.

I was reading Computer Arts in bed last night and saw the section at the back where you can send in your own designs and become published in their magazine… I am really intrigued and would like to know how my designs and paintings would do in the outside world, this is what I intend to do in the next week or two….

• Send some of my designs into Computer Arts and see how things go.
• Finish a few more canvas’ and try to sell them on Ebay.
• Re-submit some of my painting to Washington Green Galleries to see if they will considered publishing my work.
• Design a logo for a competition sent to me via e-mail for a company called Transformation.
• Design a logo for a Welsh Architect society.
• Enter a competition to try and get one of my designs printed onto 100 t-shirts via Digital Arts.

so ok I know there is a lot there and I also have to finish my Uni deadline before the end of December BUT!!! hey if I dont try I will never know.

Enna domenica 22 novembre 2009 – Ieri mattina, nella Chiesa Maria SS. del Carmelo, i Carabinieri del Comando Provinciale di Enna hanno celebrato, come ogni anno, la loro Patrona e commemorato il 61° anniversario della battaglia di Culqualber e la Giornata dell’Orfano. La Messa è stata officiata da don Pietro Roma coadiuvato da don Giacomo Zangara.

Al sacro rito hanno partecipato le massime personalità provinciali e locali tra cui il vice prefetto dottoressa Giuseppina Di Dio Datola in rappresentanza del Prefetto, il procuratore della Repubblica dott. Calogero Ferrotti,  il sindaco di Enna, dott. Gaspare Agnello ed  il questore,  dott.  Salvatore Patanè.
Alla Messa, oltre al Comandante provinciale dei Carabinieri, Ten. Col. Michele Di Martino, era presente un nutrito numero di militari dell’Arma in servizio ed in congedo ed i loro familiari.

Ogni anno, il 21 novembre, i Carabinieri celebrano la ricorrenza della loro Patrona “Virgo Fidelis” in memoria dei Carabinieri che tra i mesi di agosto e novembre 1941 nella località di Culqualber in Africa Orientale, mentre divampava l’ultima guerra, battendosi eroicamente, al disonore della resa preferirono la morte.

La fedeltà verso la Patrona è molto sentita perché a Lei i militari dell’Arma rivolgono le loro preghiere soprattutto nei momenti più difficili ed alla stessa si rivolgono per ottenere protezione e per essere illuminati nella loro costante azione.
« Fedeltà per i Carabinieri – come ha avuto modo di sottolineare il Comandante Provinciale Ten. Col. Michele Di Martino – vuol dire mantenere la parola ed onorare il giuramento prestato di fedeltà alla Patria ed alle Istituzioni. Anche i più giovani Carabinieri avvertono l’importanza di tenere fede ai propri doveri e sentono che il prestigio dell’Arma dovrà alimentarsi della loro fatica, dei loro sacrifici, del loro coraggio e della loro fedeltà ».

Here is my Screen print in the making, I hope to use the image in my magazine, either on the cover or within it. it took me a few hours cutting up various letters from magazines and sticking them together, the idea behind it is the ” wispers in the global Media” iv made a screen print out of it and hope to replicate it and try and make something out of it.

Vibo Valentia domenica 22 novembre 2009 – Oltre 7 tonnellate di pesce sequestrate in un’operazione congiunta tra i militari delle motovedette delle Compagnie Carabinieri di Vibo Valentia ( al comando del Cap. Stefano Di Paolo ) e Tropea e quelli della Guardia Costiera della frazione marina del capoluogo.

A ricevere la visita dei militari è stata una grossa ditta di vendita all’ingrosso di pesce della frazione marina del capoluogo.I militari delle forze dell’ordine hanno impiegato ben 2 giorni per passare al setaccio le enormi celle frigorifere dell’impresa in cui erano custoditi migliaia di kg di prodotti ittici surgelati ed aventi le più disparate origini. Un lavoro lungo e laborioso che ha portato gli uomini in divisa ad esaminare carico per carico tutti i vasti magazzini della società per verificare il pieno rispetto delle normative in campo alimentare, operando con temperature prossime ai 20 gradi sottozero.

Ore di lavoro intensissimo per gli uomini dei Carabinieri e della Guardia Costiera che, già da tempo, stanno collaborando tra loro nel campo dei controlli ai prodotti ittici nella zona del porto di Vibo Marina, e che ha portato, al termine degli accertamenti eseguiti di concerto che le autorità sanitarie dell’A.S.P. al sequestro di oltre 7 tonnellate di pesce ed altri prodotti privi di qualsiasi tipo di etichettatura che ne consentisse l’identificazione e l’estrapolazione dei dati necessari ad accertarne la completa e corretta tracciabilità. Violazioni che hanno portato all’apposizione dei sigilli amministrativi all’intero carico alimentare, del valore di alcune decine di migliaia di euro, ed all’avvio delle procedure per la distruzione da parte di ditte specializzate, essendone stata accertata l’inidoneità al consumo umano a causa della mancanza dell’obbligatoria documentazione. Per il titolare della società sono inoltre scattate sanzioni amministrative per oltre 2200 euro.
Ancora una volta l’attenta e sinergica azione di vigilanza sui prodotti ittici svolta dagli uomini Capitaneria di Porto e dell’Arma ha portato ad un vasto sequestro di alimenti conservati senza la documentazione minima necessaria ed obbligatoria ad assicurarne una corretta identificazione ed a garantirne la genuinità, segno di come l’attenzione alla tutela della salute dei consumatori ed al rispetto delle normative in campo alimentare sia una delle priorità maggiori in questo momento.
