And no matter what this trailer implies, we all know that nothing is stronger than the Silver Crystal. So… here is a teaser for a fan made live action Sailor Moon movie… made in Germany. According the You Tube there will be another trailer on Christmas, and after that the first new episode. I really hope this is going to be good.

KBC TV announced today that Kaitou Reinya (“Phantom Thief Reinya”) will join its anime lineup in January. The show adapts a series of 4-panel comedy comics about a girl named Reinya, who works at a convenience store next to the police station by day and moonlights as an infamously elusive cat burglar by night. The extra twist to this familiar formula (see: Kaitou Saint Tail, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne) is that Reinya is based on a real girl named Tanaka Reina, who is a member of the well-known girl-pop group Morning Musume.

What you anime young’uns out there might not now is that this is merely the latest example of a long tradition of turning pop idols into anime characters, so you shouldn’t just dismiss this as a crass marketing ploy. More on the older shows, including some ’80s tunes, after the jump.

You see, back in the ’80s, Studio Pierrot – yes, the same Studio Pierrot that animates Naruto Shippuden today – was well known for its magical girl shows that starred popular idol singers. Oota Takako voiced the main characters and performed the opening themes for both Magical Angel Creamy Mami (1983) and Magical Star Magical Emi (1985), while Shiga Takako did the same for Magical Idol Pastel Yumi (1986). After Pastel Yumi, Pierrot didn’t do another Idol/magical girl crossover until 1998’s Magical Stage Fancy Lala, which starred Aihara Rei. All of these girls in their times were hit pop acts, and most of the shows turned out fine (okay, Magical Emi wasn’t that good).

So, Kaitou Reinya should be fine as long as the humor of the manga remains intact, and if Tanaka Reina is a better actress than she is a singer. Okay, low blow, I admit it.

Para inaugurar la categoría de Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha en MICHIRU Yuri Magazine qué mejor que hacerlo con una recopilación de todo el Anime producido sobre esta conocida franquicia de acción y Magical Girls creada por el estudio Seven Arcs en el año 2004.

Incluyo las tres series de T.V. realizadas hasta la fecha sobre Nanoha, más la pequeña serie de O.V.A.s en la que tuvo sus orígenes: Triangle Hearts: Sweet Songs Forever (adaptación al Anime del tercer videojuego de la saga Triangle Heart) en la que ya veíamos a una pequeña Nanoha como personaje secundario antes de protagonizar posteriormente las populares series que llevarían su nombre.

Espero que disfrutéis del “Universo Nanoha” en formato animado que se ha realizado hasta la fecha y que aquí hemos querido recopilar para facilitar su iniciación a los interesados en esta obra. Recordad que para el próximo año se espera una película sobre esta popular franquicia que aumentará aún más si cabe este particular universo.

El mundo de la animación japonesa es único para revitalizar obras a las que aparentemente ya se les había sacado todo el “jugo” posible y quedaban tan solo como simples “nombres” ilustres de tiempos pasados. En el caso de Cutey Honey, una vetusta obra del gran autor Go Nagai (Mazinger Z, Devilman, etc.) que fue publicada por primera vez en los años 70, tenemos otro buen ejemplo de cómo hacer una nueva revisión de un clásico de una forma absolutamente fantástica e innovadora. Cutey Honey narraba las aventuras de la joven Honey, única hija del Dr. Kisaragi, que tras la trágica muerte de su padre a manos de la organización criminal Panther Claw emprendía una cruzada contra el mal bajo el nombre de la súper heroína Cutey Honey. Dependiendo de la versión de la serie, ya que ésta ha tenido varias desde los años 70 hasta ahora (Cutey Honey en 1973, New Cutey Honey en 1994, Cutey Honey Flash en 1997 y, la más reciente, Re:Cutie Honey en 2004), el personaje de Honey era: o bien un androide que conservaba alguna pequeña parte de la Honey Kisaragi original, como sus recuerdos o sus sentimientos (ya que la hija del Dr. Kisaragi oficialmente había fallecido en un accidente de tráfico a la edad de 17 años), o bien se trataba de una humana al completo que se transformaba en Magical Girl (como sucedía en Cutey Honey Flash).

La reseña que hoy nos ocupa va dedicada a la versión más reciente: Re:Cutie Honey, una nueva vuelta de tuerca al clásico de Go Nagai pero desde un nuevo y refrescante punto de vista, de la mano nada menos que de GAINAX y la Toei, con Hideaki Anno a la cabeza del proyecto. Re:Cutie Honey es una divertidísima mini-serie de 3 O.V.A.s que narra una vez más el enfrentamiento entre la heroína Cutey Honey (realmente impresionante esta vez en pantalla, en todos los sentidos) contra los alocados y estrafalarios esbirros de la organización Panther Claw, con la “harlockiana” súper-villana Sister Jill a la cabeza.

El diseño de la mini-serie es realmente digno de alabanza. Aquellos nostálgicos de obras como Lupin III a buen seguro disfrutarán como nadie de Re:Cutie Honey, que en clave de comedia disparatada y con una estética Pop setentera realmente deliciosa nos transporta al mundo de los más clásicos y cándidos súper héroes en su lucha contra los más pérfidos súper villanos (unos antagonismos propios de otros tiempos y que hoy en día están totalmente abandonados, siendo ahora más habitual que se den las “escalas de grises”). A destacar desde luego las múltiples referencias a obras clásicas del género (veremos aparecer en un cameo al mismísimo Astro Boy durante un episodio) y también a obras del cine de Hollywood como Kill Bill. Además, los momentos Yuri que nos ofrece esta obra son (aunque breves) sin duda antológicos, con una química entre Honey y la inspectora Natsuko Aki sencillamente genial. Destacar por último la magnífica banda sonora de la serie, muy acorde con la estética que nos presenta la obra, y por supuesto también el gran trabajo de Yui Horie prestando su voz a Honey, en una estupenda interpretación. Aunque para mí, si hay algo por lo que recordaré siempre esta gran mini-serie es sin duda por el genial cuerpo de policía al completo, con sus cientos de agentes dibujados en estilo Super Deformed que no desearía jamás que se ocuparan de velar por la seguridad en las calles de mi ciudad.

Si le mot super-héros évoque immédiatement des combinaisons moulantes, la testostérone et les biceps apparents, il ne faut pas pour autant oublier leurs alter-egos féminines. Étudions de près un de ces phénomènes, originaire du pays du soleil levant, j’ai nommé les Magical Girls.

Une Magical Girl, qu’est-ce que c’est ?

À première vue, c’est principalement composé de :
- 2 couettes blondes attachées par de supers élastiques avec des bijoux en toc
- une baguette/ un sceptre/ un aspirateur/… MAGIQUE
- un animal ou une peluche, qui parle trop
- une phrase percutante clamée à toutes les occasions possibles
- un costume avec des volants, des froufrous, des trucs qui prennent bien le vent pour l’effet dramatique
- un mystérieux voisin/ami d’enfance/camarade de classe/éboueur avec une identité secrète et/ou des pouvoirs spéciaux
- une vie antérieure ou un illustre ancêtre caché
Et avec ça, c’est censé sauver le monde et rentrer à l’heure pour le goûter !

Cette description ne vous évoque rien ? Non ? Et si je vous dis « pouvoir du prisme lunaire, transforme-moi !!! » ? J’en vois dont les yeux s’allument et que la nostalgie envahit… Eh oui, la valeureuse Sailor Moon, précurseuse, ambassadrice des Magical Girls, qui a fait rêver des millions de petites filles (et de plus grands garçons, l’uniforme marin y étant pour beaucoup).

Alors mesdemoiselles (et messieurs), Sailor Moon vous a-t-elle aidé à surmonter les années collège la tête haute ? Messieurs, Tuxedo masqué (oui, le prince charmant de Sailor Moon, faut suivre un peu) vous a-t-il montré l’exemple de ce que doit être l’homme idéal ?

I have heard about Nanoha alot. I knew there were loads of figures. I knew it was a magical girl series. And that it looked cute. But I’d never really felt that fussed about watching it. BUT after finally watching Code Geass, I felt I should look into some fan-favourites that I had passed up before. This being one of ‘em. And I confess… I’m already being tempted by the figma’s….. It might just be because of the staffs that come with them though… So cool… and tiny… Hauuuu….

I’m on episode *thinks* 4 I think. I’ve wanted to get like 2 eps a night watched, but I think sleep has been more tempting lol. And now Uni is pretty much finished I can get more watched, stay up stupidly late and sleep in stupidly late lol. I plan to get at least 5 and 6 watched tonight. Maybe even 7… its only 13 long though…. I’ve gotten used to 24 eps lol. Though Rideback was only 12.

I love her high collared jumper. High-wide collars are mucho cute. Like oversized boots.

 I haven’t watched a proper magical girl series in YONKS. I mean proper magical girl series, like CCS, with staffs and cute little critters and transformations to boot. (Love the transformation sequence in MSLN, so pretty. Really nice animation.) I’d forgotten why I liked them lol, I had to force myself to sit down and watch Nanoha. I should do that when I continue Shugo Chara too… otherwise I’ll just stop it again…

I love the bit the staff is built around the raging heart(Raising Heart? In the sub I have its Raging, but on ANN its listed as Raising….) jewel. Kirei.

Nanoha’s charm is very endearing. I’m waiting to see how Fate has become more popular frankly…. cos Nanoha’s kind of moe seems hard to beat… Got no clue about Hayate. But she’s in Saimoe too, so I’m guessing she’s moe enough. Anyways, I’m definately gonna stick with it, unless I get mindnummingly bored by it lol. I hope I don’t. It’s giving back my taste for Mahou Shoujo series, which means more dling lol.

Pre and post henshin. And Yuuno! I hope we see more of Yuuno. Un-ferret Yunno too.

When I first heard Nanoha talk I was like, ‘OMG RIKA-CHAN!’ Always disturbing to hear Higurashi girls in other roles for me lol. Though this was first lol. And when I heard Fate I knew I recognised her voice too… I’m good at recognising the voices, but I haven’t got all the names down yet… Anyways, Nana Mizuki, Fate, she’s in 2 series that are ending this season, Rideback(LOVE) and White Album. Both characters have very similar names… Rin Ogata and Rina Ogata. Weird coincidence? lol. Must be. She was also Shinobu in Ninja Nonsense(mental series… lol) and the only character in Naruto that I didn’t hate lol, Hinata Hyuuga. As for Nanoha’s seiyuu Yukari Tamura, I knew she was Rika Furude in Higurashi, what I didn’t know is she was Mei Sunohara in Clannad! And a whole bunch of other characters in anime I’ve seen lol. Like Mai in Kanon. And Michiru(who I don’t really remember lol) in Air.

Righto… now me thinks I’ll attempt to install some stuff or play some games… or just idle on the net lol. Or maybe watch some more Nanoha! lol. There really is nothing on tv tonight… Not even any decent repeats.

Una obra básica para todo aficionado al Yuri (y al Manga en general) es sin duda Sailor Moon, de Naoko Takeuchi. Las aventuras de las Magical Girls mas célebres de la historia merecen la pena disfrutarse con independencia de si sus planteamientos nos pueden parecer más o menos “pasados de moda” (la lucha del bien contra el mal, en definitiva), ya que siempre es un deleite para la vista su delicadísimo dibujo y su magnífico diseño de personajes, además de contar el Manga con temáticas bastante más adultas de lo que se vió en la olvidable serie de televisión.
