Magnets have been used in ancient cultures because of their healing properties. During the time of the ancient Greeks, the Greek citizens would wear magnetic bracelets because they believe it would prevent injury and it would speed up the recovery period in case of injury. Even the great thinker Aristotle praised the healing power of magnets in reducing pain. Several hundred years ago the French Royal Society of Medicine conducted an in depth study of the use of magnets in medical science and concluded that magnets could be used medicinally to cure back pain, neck pain, headaches, problems with circulation, and several other medical issues. Cleopatra made the wearing of them fashionable. Now women can get the same medical benefits by wearing a women’s magnetic bracelet.

What Medical Issue does it heal?

The most commonly asked question about wearing a women’s magnetic bracelet is what medical benefits the bracelet can provide. The primary usage is to relive pain from arthritis found in the joints of your hand, wrist and fingers. The secondary usage is to increase the mobility of your hands. They can also be used to ease the pain suffered from carpel tunnel syndrome.

How Does It Work?

Arthritis develops in our joints when the area lacks blood circulation and/or oxygen which cause the joints to be inflamed. This inflammation is what causes the pain in arthritis. A bracelet with magnets built into it will increase the blood flow through your wrists to your hands and finger. The increased blood flow will improve the circulation in your hands and reduce the inflammation. This leads to a reduction of pain that was previously felt from the arthritis.

Just like most medicine that comes in different size dosages based on the level of pain, there are different types of magnetic bracelets. The effectiveness is measured in a term called “gauss.” Gauss is a measurement of the flux density of the magnetic field produced by the bracelet. Each bracelet has a different measurement of gauss. If you are looking to relieve arthritic pain, make sure the one that you chose has the appropriate level of gauss.

Here are some of the benefits you will get from wearing a women’s magnetic bracelet:

* Increased blood flow. People have problems with their hands because they are extremities because they are the furthest point away from your heart. Your heart needs to have lots of pressure to pump a healthy supply of blood to your extremities. They will greatly increase the supply of blood to your hands.

* 24/7 treatment. When you take traditional medicine you are doomed to having to take a pill every 4 to 8 hours in order to get relief. The medicine will no longer provide any medical benefit after its effective usage period has expired. A magnetic bracelet will provide continuous relief and provide medical healing while it is being worn.

* Residual benefits to rest of body. As the blood circulation increases in your hands from the wearing of a magnets around your wrist, the rest of your body will benefit too. This happens because the body will be able to improve blood circulation throughout the rest of the body due to the increase in your hands. You will notice the pain in other parts of your body will decrease with the wearing of a magnetic bracelet.

Women have worn these for over three thousand years. Ancient civilizations were able to realize the healing power found in magnets and the women in those civilizations wore these bracelets. Through the passage of time other civilizations have learned about the healing powers. Now you can take advantage of the healing powers found in a women’s magnetic bracelet to heal arthritis or carpel tunnel syndrome.

These No-nonsense rules will help you but the right Magnetic therapy Bracelet for you. Rule #1 : Fir

These No-nonsense rules will help you but the right Magnetic therapy Bracelet for you.

Rule #1 : Firstly it is important for you to understand the basics of strength of a medical magnet.

What's The Attraction?

Magnets are rated in Gauss so you shouldn’t purchase any magnetic therapy bracelet unless if has more than an 800 Gauss rating.

Any less than 800 and the magnet will not have the strength to penetrate your skin to give you the magnetic benefits you are paying for.

Rule #2 : All Gauss is not equal.

It’s a bit technical, but I’ll try to simplify it.

Gauss is the rating used for medical magnets; Gauss was named after a German scientist who discovered it.

Industry has changed how they measure magnetic strength, they do it in the more modern measurement of the “Tesla”.

But in the medical arena we’re still doing it in the old Gauss measure, don’t ask me why.

But to make it more complicated, there are two different Gauss measures.

Surface Gauss, (or external Gauss)

Core Gauss (or internal gauss)

Be sure your bracelet is measured in Surface Gauss.

A simple way of being sure, is to check the product description. If it doesn’t specify there is another check you can do. If it is over 3,000 Gauss, and if it doesn’t end in two or more zeros, then it is probably Core Gauss. They want you to believe it is the stronger internal measurement so you will buy it instead of buying from a competitor.

It’s a trick some suppliers use to make you think you are getting something stronger than it really is. Nearly all suppliers now rate their magnets in Surface Gauss, but some still try to trick you.

Most medical magnets used for bracelets are 800 or 900 Gauss and up to 2,000 Gauss. There are products that have 3,000 Surface Gauss but they are extremely strong and used for chronic pain relief.

Over 3,000 Gauss and I’d be getting suspicious about whether it was surface Gauss, particularly if the number didn’t end in zeros.

For more detail on Gauss check this post

Rule #3: Now you have to choose how many magnets you want.

Many Styles Of magnetic Bracelets

There are many styles of bracelets.

There are open-ended bangles, coils, expandable bracelets and so on. When you visit a few different sites you may even see bracelets that look exactly the same, but don’t be too sure that they are. Some may have more magnets than others, but still look the same.

Some Coil bracelets have only one magnet at each end of the bracelet, while one that looks just the same on another site might have six magnets.

The same goes for the linked bracelets, many have a magnet in each link, while another that looks the same may only have a magnet in every second link.

Then there is the strength of the magnets in the links to think about. They could be anything from 800 Gauss to 3,000. As long as they are over 800 they will be fine, but if you are paying good money, you may as well go for the best, and at least get magnets of 2,000 Gauss in every link.

Rule: #4 Your bracelet must fit correctly

Bracelet That Fits Correctly

An expandable bracelet is great as long as it fits snugly all around the wrist. You need to be careful not to have it too tight or you’ll undo any of the benefits from the magnets, because it may reduce circulation and cause swelling.

Then the non expandable bracelet that has a lot of slack will not be giving you all the benefit of one that fits correctly. The slack holds the magnets away from the skin reducing benefits of the magnet in that area.

Buying the correct size is important. If you know your size or can measure your size it would be the best scenario. If you are not sure and don’t want to take any chances of getting one too small, you can order the large size, and have some links taken out by a local jeweller or some other repair expert, such as some of those stalls you see in shopping malls where they change your watch batteries or fix your shoes etc.

The ideal size is to have the bracelet around 12 mm (or half an inch) longer than your actual wrist circumference.

Rule: #5 What material are your magnets made from?

There are basically three materials medical magnets can be made from.

Ceramics

Ceramics were developed around 50 years ago as a cheap alternative, this material is very bulky in relation to their strength.

Samarium Cobalt

Samarium Cobalt magnetism are a type of rare earth magnet a bit higher in quality than the Ceramic and less bulky, but it has a problem of chipping easily because it is very brittle.

Neodymium

Neodymium magnets. Are a rare earth magnet also, but were developed fairly recently. These magnets are around ten times the strength of the ceramic and four times the strength of the Samarium Cobalt magnets which make them the best choice of magnet for magnetic therapy jewellery.

To put it all simply, if we had all four magnets together and all were the same size, they would all be different strengths.

A 1,000 Gauss of Ceramic would be a 2,000 gauss of Samarium cobalt and 3,000 gauss in Neodymium.

This also means that the Neodymium is the lightest, and strongest of all three and the best choice for use in jewellery such as a bracelet.

Rule: #6 It needs to look Jolly good too!

Having looked at all the details it’s also important to have a nice piece of jewellery too isn’t it?

If you just wanted something that “just did the job” then you might have bought a wrist support. But because you wanted a bracelet, then you probably want something that looks good, and even fashionable. There are many to choose from, but why not spoil yourself and pick something really nice that’s in your price range that suites you.

To Find some great choices from different suppliers you can check the products we have put together for you at Magnetic Therapy Choices. None of these products are our own, so we have no reason to steer you towards any particular products. It may just save you a lot of time looking around when we have put a great selection together and done a lot of the legwork for you.

If you still trying to figure it all out, or just want more free information about Magnetic Therapy or Magnetic Therapy Products we have some great posts on our Magnetic Therapy Choices Blog.

To sum it all up.

Don’t buy a bracelet with less than 800 Gauss.

Be sure Gauss is measured in Surface Gauss not in Core Gauss.

If it has links, it should have a magnet in each link.

Check it is the right fit.

Preferred magnet is Neodymium.

It needs to look good!
