Today I completed my rich and poor Edwardian looks for TV.

I have really enjoyed playing with hairstyles and have found my confidence in this area growing. Even though my styles may not be perfect, my design and technique development has certainly progressed. This course has actually made me like hair and wig making more as I find the dramatic and specific look a hairstyle can give is really satisfying – especially when it is more to do with design and research (along with ability) and minimal tools, rather than needing a reserve of 20 different powder colours as you would find with makeup.

I think I still need to develop my hair shapes and spend more time playing with different ideas specific to a period, in order to perfect and fully explain my thoughts in piece. I think by doing this I will gain much stronger skills and further confidence which in turn will benefit other areas of my work such as fashion pieces.

I am glad I managed to get outfits together as along with the hair, I feel they make up a whole outfit. I am gradually getting into more collaborative projects and working with those from different artistic backgrounds in order to create fully formed collective pieces, as I feel only by working with others can I progress in my work through building relationships and learning new transferrable skills.

<img class="size-large wp-image-1231" alt="Rich/Poor Edwardian Assessment.
In regards to the makeup, the piece was a little too flat and too well powdered; in particular the poorer Edwardian makeup. A poor Edwardian individual would be sweating more due to manual labour and perhaps heat from the kitchen. Other things I need to concern myself with more would be the eyebrows; the poor ones are much too thin and after direction from Lisa I made them bigger for the rich pice which proved to create a much more accurate. I need to also concentrate on specific colours an shapes of lip designs. On a more positive note, I’m really happy with the blusher; I think using a cream for period looks provides a much more natural appearance.

It is very good news that most tones eyeshadows and eyeliner work for redhead and green is really an exceptional good for this. If you are with very fair and have a blonde lashes the recommendation for you a brown mascara not brown or black and so you makeup doesn’t look harsh.

If I could have just one wish, it would be that all the girls (and boys) in the land of Oz could experience Sephora. Why? Because it is the equivalent of beauty, hair, makeup and perfume Nirvana! So my question to the Sephora Gods is this….what is wrong with Australia? Have we been a naughty country? Where did we go wrong? Why don’t we have a Sephora in this land of the supposed lucky country? (I may need to go to Sephora AA)

Ok let’s get to the good stuff, on my recent Hawaii-moon visit, I did a bit of shopping and wanted to show you my goodies haul and my review of each product. I went a bit crazy in Sepohra (like a dear in head lights), so I thought I’d break it down and do my first Hawaii makeup haul on the Sephora brand products only.

Being a virgin Sephorian, I was surprised to see that the Sephora brand makeup was really reasonably priced and great quality. I actually spent most of my honeymoon spending allowance (can you tell I’m not the banker in the relationship) on Sephora brand products; so what did I buy?

Don’t feel like reading. Check out my Sephora review on YouTube. Click here!

The Artist Colour Box Palette

I could not walk passed this palette, valued at $105 US, it only cost $34 US, get out! I know!! All up there are 24 eyeshadows, 6 lip glosses and 5 eyeliners. I’m always a bit hesitant when it comes to buying a palette as you end up only using a few colours or not using the palette at all, if it’s crapola quality. I can safety say that I’m glad I bought this palette, I’ve played around with the browns, greens and greys in the palette and I like them. They’re true to the colour and I like that there are a mixture of matte and shimmer eyeshadows.

The lip glosses are really pretty, I especially love the tangerine at the very top and the hot pink. The glosses are quite moisturising and some of them have a little shimmer in them.

The eyeliners are awesome, they’re soft and strong in their application of colour and they also glide on really easily. I would also say that they may be a little too soft, so blunt down easily.

The palette also comes with a dual end eyeshadow applicator and lip brush (see below). Here’s a closer look at the colours in this palette….

Check out a full makeup look I created with this palettle – click here

Sephora Lipsticks

I’m a lipstick hoarder so I was in lipstick heaven, they have so many! I bought 3 lipsticks from the Sephora range, 2 were from the Rouge Shine range and 1 from the Colour Lip Last range.

Rouge Shine – No. 29 Latin Lover

This lipstick has a sheer glossy finish and I love love love it. I’m a big fan of bright tangariney lipsticks and I was on the look out for one that didn’t have a matte finish. This one was by far the best that I tried on in Sephora and I love the price $12! The colour can be bumped up with this orangey NYX lip liner I bought, or can be worn on its own for a sheer colour finish. The only negative thing I would say is that I didn’t love the taste of the lipsticks in the Rouge Shine range. They taste like what I would imagine lipstick would taste to eat (urrk) if that makes sense – a bit too chemically. However, in saying that, I dig the colour and finish so can defo live with the taste.

Rouge Shine No.4 So Cute

My napoleon everyday lipstick ran out, so I went searching for a new everyday kinda colour and found this little cutie! It’s again from the rouge shine range, so moisturising and sheer, and $12! I love that it just accentuates the natural colour of your lips.

Colour Lip Last – No. 12 Royal Raspberry

I’m so sad I didn’t buy more of these colours when I was there as they’re so long lasting and the colours pack a mean lippy punch! It was instant love with this colour, our eyes met across the room and we both knew it was going to be a long and fabulous romance. This colour gives you a perfect pout of matte fushia that can steal looks left and right. This lipstick would have to be my favourite Sephora purchase, it glides on velvety and soft and is moisturising on application but does tend to dry out later in the day, although not as much as I thought it would, and again, $12. I want more more more!

Colourful Blush Collection – No. 5 Sunbaked

I bought this blush because I was looking for a colour that wasn’t too pink and wasn’t too orange and this blush had just the right colour balance. It’s a matte blush which you can easily build up your desired strength of the colour – it’s not too strong on first application. The packaging is small and compact and is $14.

Beauty To Go Harmony Face Powder

At first look I loved this blush, all the different hues and added glitter, so it was an instant purchase, but when I got it home and tried it on, to be brutally honesty, I didn’t love it as much. Whilst the colour of the blush is gorgeous and I love that you can create different variations of colour on your cheeks, I feel that the glitter pieces are too large, so it looks noticeable that you have glitter on your cheeks. That is the only downer of this blush, but in saying that, if you’re heading out on the town with the girls, it would look gorgeous on, just not for day time. The Harmony Face Powder is $14.

Loads more product reviews to come on other fabo products I bought from Sephora Land, so stay tuned.

Get gorgeous and avoid wedding-day disaster with these Few amazing makeup and beauty tips for any br

Get gorgeous and avoid wedding-day disaster with these Few amazing makeup and beauty tips for any bride, bridesmaid, or guest.

1. Choose foundation to match your skin Color or Tone:
The key to finding the perfect foundation to match your skin tone is to check the colour in natural daylight. After all, on your wedding day you are most likely to spend a large proportion of it in natural light. Remember to always check a foundation along the jaw line to guarantee you don’t leave a tide-mark and extend it towards the neck.

2. Do your eye makeup first:
If you do the skin first, then eyes, you lean all over the face while applying the eyeshadow. Same goes for brides doing their own make up by the time you have finished the look your blusher which was so carefully applied is all over your palm!
Prep cleansed skin and then go straight into brows and eyes. Then you can just wipe away any eyeshadow “fall out” with a small fluffy brush or a cotton pad with some remover on without affecting your base. It’s much easier this way!

3. Don’t forget concealer:
Although foundation will definitely give you the coverage you need to even out any blotchiness, concealer is still a bridal beauty must to get rid of any unwanted shadows that might persist after foundation application. Use a small concealer brush to erase dark circles.

4. Use light eye shadow as base:
Begin on your eyes by applying a light eye shadow all over the eyelid. This is the best way to open up the eye and make them stand out more in photographs. Then you can apply the colour of your choice from the upper lash line to the crease of your eye. Blending is the key to good make-up, so be sure you don’t leave any harsh line.
It’s also worth mentioning that you need a separate eyeshadow primer. You can find some amazing ones on the market.

5. Use lip liner that matches your lipstick shade:
There are no hard and fast rules over whether to opt for a lipstick or a gloss on your wedding day. Some simply prefer one to the other. Whichever you veer towards, be sure to use a lip liner similar to the colour of your choice and blend using a cotton bud to prevent the lipstick or gloss from bleeding.

6. Don’t Over Powder:
Powder can dull the skin and look very cakey. Apply with a large fluffy brush and “press” the product on as opposed to wiping it on in big circular motions. Also only powder where it is needed – if you want a “glowy” makeup, just apply powder to the T-Zone (forehead nose and chin). The powder does set the makeup but you don’t want to take away all the nice work of the foundation! Texture in skin is normal. It’s nice to see parts of the skin with a glow and other parts matte.

7. Best Perfume:
Use you Favorite Perfume but in little Quantity and Let every one smell it.

I’m no style guru, nor am I a makeup artist or a hairdresser. I’m just a girl who’

I’m no style guru, nor am I a makeup artist or a hairdresser. I’m just a girl who’s interested in these things and has gone through a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding which clothes, beauty products, and hair styles work for her. Thankfully, I’ve crimped my hair and looked like I stuck my finger in an electric outlet so you don’t have to. Here are some general fashion and beauty tips I’ve amassed over the years.

Style

In the workplace, take a cue from you co-workers. If they’re all dressed in business casual attire, then follow suit. But stay true to you, too. Maybe you love accent jewelry or maybe it’s high heels you adore. There are ways to sneak things in to make the outfits feel like “you” while still abiding by company guidelines.

Accessorize. Great accessories can completely change an outfit. They can make an old cardigan and jeans feel completely new. Accessories are what will help you dress an outfit up (heels, with some pearls or a statement necklace) or dress it down (Converse and a draped scarf).

Have an outfit that makes you feel confident. More than one if you can help it. Amy touched on the power of a perfect pair of jeans and a white top. I couldn’t agree more. But if that’s not for you, find something that is. In the cooler months, for me it’s some ballet flats, a great pair of dark skinnies, and some type of cardigan/tee/scarf combination. In the summer, I’m all about sundresses.

Experiment, or don’t. There will likely be some clothes that feel more “you” than others. But that doesn’t mean you can’t switch it up once in a while. If you’re mostly a jeans-and-a-T-Shirt kinda girl, there’s nothing wrong with trying out a skirt (except for those annoying people who will be all, “oooh, why are you all dressed up?!” and then you can just say you’re preparing for their upcoming funeral or something). Then again, if you never want to try anything new, you don’t have to. Screw the haters.

Hair

For curly-haired ladies like myself, use a diffuser if you’re blow drying your hair. And never towel dry – use a microfiber towel or a T-Shirt.

Always dry your hair on the lowest setting, with the coolest temperature. It helps minimize not only frizz, but damage to your hair.

Your hair stylist can always tell if you trim your own hair. You’re going to do it anyway, but I’m telling ya, they know.

Work with your natural texture. Whether it’s pin-straight or curly ringlets, your hair is totally fine the way it is. I spent years straightening my curls only to realize I like (maybe even love) my curly hair — even though it’s a total pain sometimes. I suggest doing a bit of Googling to figure out the best way to care for you specific type of hair. (Mine is considered a 2B.) There are so many resources out there; read up, and try some stuff out!

Play. You’re never too old to try a new hairstyle, even if it’s just as simple as learning a new braid. YouTube and Pinterest are perfect for hairstyle inspiration!

Go sulfate-free. Sulfate tends to cause frizzy hair and can be harmful for colored hair. You don’t need sulfates in your shampoo, so why not skip it? While you’re at it, alcohol-free hair gel, especially in curl-defining product, works well, too.

Makeup

It doesn’t have to be expensive. I’m obsessed with E.L.F. products. They are cheap, but they work really well, especially their eye shadow and blush. They have great makeup brushes for cheap, too. If you tend to go through nail polishes quickly, or you like changing the color frequently, check out their nail polish. (But I wouldn’t recommend it as a long-lasting polish. It does chip somewhat easily.)

When painting your nails, start with a clear base coat. It helps keep your polish on longer. (Who knew?)

What works for “everyone else” may not work for you. I hate eyelash curlers, even though they are kind of a big deal in the beauty world. Just because your BFF swears by one thing doesn’t mean it will be the end-all, be-all for you, too.

Remove your makeup before bed. The magazines got at least one thing right. Your skin will thank you!

Try primers. I’ve invested in eyeshadow primer (and by “invested,” I mean, I spent, like, $2 from E.L.F.) and it’s totally changed my life. I have watery eyes, so primers helps keep my makeup in place.

Find a great moisturizer with SPF. The recommendation is to use a heavier moisturizer in the winter, a lighter one in the summer, but I use Aveeno Clear Complexion year-round and it works amaaaazingly for me. As fun as it is to play around with different colored lipsticks and eyeshadows, if a product is working well for you, why mess with it? As long as your moisturizer has some kind of SPF in it, I say don’t worry about it.

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I would share with you my friday, outfit post!

Friday after work my husband and I went out for dinner to Amigos at Chapel Street Melbourne.

I decided to wear my favourite white shirt from Zara. It is a beautiful fabric and has small gold button details. I paired my top with my black jeans from Gap and new amazing black boots from Tony Bianco. I finished the look off with a very old but very loved black denim blazer from Zouk.

For accessories, I wore my guess watch, my Tiffany and Co earrings and by red and gold cuff from wildurban in Berwick.

For my makeup, I used some new exciting products and opted for a dewy look with red lips. I wore my NARS foundation, paired with my Mac studio fix powder. I used Mac mineral blush in gleeful and loads of Jordana best lash extreme mascara. I finished the look with Mac Ruby Woo lipstick.

The look was so fun and in trend, with my white and black monochrome outfit, paired with my red Ruby Woo lips.

Have a great day guys and stay sweet xoxo

Despite prevailing misconceptions, if you’ve got darker skin, you’re not immune to the effects of su

Despite prevailing misconceptions, if you’ve got darker skin, you’re not immune to the effects of sun damage and premature aging. While the rules of cleanse, moisturize and SPF apply to everyone, darker tones do need unique care. We asked Dr. Mona Gohara, assistant clinical professor at the Yale University School of Medicine Department of Dermatology in New Haven, CT and a key promoter of skin care awareness and sun safety in non-Caucasian populations, about the chemistry and concerns of darker skin:

1) What is the basic skin biology of people of color?

There are three layers which comprise the human skin-the epidermis, the dermis and fat. Within the epidermis there are pigment producing cells called melanocytes; melanocytes produce melanin which is the substance that confers skin color. We all have the same number of melanocytes, regardless of complexion–the browner you are the more melanin you are producing. In short, melanin determines skin color. Melanin has many different functions in human skin. Most importantly, it provides inherent protection against the sun and is a natural antioxidant.

2) What are some of the common skin issues affecting people with darker skin tones? Are these issues different than people with lighter skin tones and if so, why?

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a condition which occurs more frequently in individuals with darker skin. It is localized skin darkening which occurs after trauma or inflammation. For example, when people of color get a pimple, for some reason melanocytes “rev” up and produce more melanin. As a result, when the lesion fades, the skin gets darker. The same phenomenon applies for cuts, bruises and resolving rashes. To treat PIH, you need to use an SPF of 30 or higher everyday, and give it time. Other remedies such as hydroquinones, retinol, glycolic acid, and chemical peels can also help speed up the process.

Melasma is another type of skin darkening that happens in individuals of African, Latin, Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean descent. Patients with melasma notice brown or gray-brown patches on the cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead, chin or upper lip. Although the exact cause is unknown, it is thought that pregnancy, birth control pills (or other hormone therapies), and some medications, together with sun exposure, may trigger this disease. Again, judicious application of SPF 30, or higher, and fading creams which include hydroquinone, are best forms of treatment.

There are some natural alternatives that treat both PIH and melasma as well, including soy, coffee berry extract, and licorice root.

3) Does a darker skin tone mean skin is slower to age? What should every dark-skinned person include in their daily skin care regimen?

People of color have more melanin, which provides “built-in” protection against the damaging effects of the sun. Because of the high level of melanin, darker skin tones show fewer signs of aging. In fact, a medium brown African -American person has a natural SPF of 13.4, versus a fair skinned Caucasian who has a natural SPF of 3.4 Plus, since melanin is a natural antioxidant, it protects against free radicals—the damaging particles that attack collagen and elastin and cause wrinkles— people of color have a tendency to have smoother, firmer skin longer. To boost the protective effects of melanin, you should apply an SPF of at least 30 and a serum or cream rich with antioxidants such as vitamin C and E, coffee berry, kojic acid, and/or retinols.

Daily SPF of 30 or higher is a must for everyone because darker skin can develop skin cancer. Because some physicians and patients erroneously think that brown skin is exempt from this disease, this misconception lends to a delay in diagnosis and treatment. There is no question that people of color are less likely to become afflicted with skin cancer. Sadly, however, they are much more likely to die from the disease. Because skin malignancy is curable if caught early, there is no reason for an increase in mortality to exist.

4) What skincare ingredients should darker skin tones avoid? What should they look for and why?

You should avoid products that are abrasive or irritating since they can contribute to hyperpigmentation. Steer clear of skincare that contains the following ingredients: fragrances, alcohol, propylene glycol, lanolin, dyes, or alpha hydroxy acids in high concentrations. Also, avoid cleansing with a puff or loofah, which can cause irritation. Look for broad spectrum SPF with natural minerals such as titanium or zinc oxide and make sure your cleansers, moisturizers and serums have antioxidant ingredients like vitamin C/E, coffee berry extract, licorice root, and soy (to name a few). Retinols (vitamin A derivatives) can help improve overall skin health when used properly in small amounts.

5) Regarding cosmetic procedures, such as laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, and fillers, are there any that you recommend for people with darker skin tones or any to avoid?

People with darker skin tones should be careful before having certain cosmetic procedures. Botox, and injectable fillers have been studied and proven to be safe and effective in combating signs of aging in brown skin. Although micodermabrasion and laser resurfacing are options for those with darker complexions, you’re more likely to have post inflammatory hyperpigmenation and scarring after these procedures. If you do decide to try one of these treatments, make sure your doctor is proficient in performing them on a non-Caucasian population, otherwise permanent skin damage may result.

Actress/Model Keira Knightley

Watch as celebrity makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge, show you how to create the makeup look she fabricated on actress/model Keira Knightley for the World Premier of Anna Karenina in the video below.

As women, we always want to look our best no matter what the occasion is. Although we may not look like a supermodel or famous actress, part of being a woman is the need to not only look beautiful, but to feel beautiful as well. Nothing can help us achieve that goal better than makeup–more specifically applying makeup correctly to the point that our face looks flawless, while giving the illusion of wearing none at all.

Of course, knowing how to apply makeup like that takes time, skill and practice. You must learn the basics, like how to choose the right foundation, eye shadow, blush, mascara, lipstick, etc. in the colors that complement your skin tone and complexion, and the look you want to achieve. Then you must know how to apply them in the right amount and shade, so that when applied together, you look fabulous. Once you learn how to apply makeup that creates a natural, no-make look, or one that creates a dramatic look, and you look gorgeous when you’re done, you are on your way to creating any look you want. Not only for yourself, but for other women, too.

For sure, if you receive compliments from your man, or men in general about how beautiful you look, then you are on your way to being a professional. Men can be our worst critics when it comes to makeup. They have strong likes and dislikes about it. And although we wear makeup to please ourselves, we do want others, including the man in our life, to tell us we look fabulous.

So ladies, the above video by celebrity makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge, shows us how to achieve red carpet makeup looks for any occasion. Watch, learn, and stay beautiful!

Urban Decay Ammo Palette

Hi Lovelies,

It’s that time again, product review! Today I will be talking about the re -released Ammo Palette from Urban Decay.

I must admit, when I saw this palette I thought wow, look at those pigmented shadows and immediately knew I could have some fun. I was a little worried that they would be too glittery, but honestly this is not the case.

The Ammo palette includes Urban Decay’s best selling eyeshadows, which are: Smog (deep coppery bronze shimmer), Mildew (mossy green shimmer with gold shift), Oil Slick (black matte with silver micro-glitter), Last Call (metallic plum shimmer), Chopper (copper shimmer with silver micro-glitter), Maui Wowie (metallic golden beige shimmer with silver glitter), Shattered (turquoise shimmer with a gold shift), Polyester Bride (white snow shimmer with silver micro-glitter),Grifter (sheer lavender shimmer with silver micro-glitter), and Sin (champagne shimmer).

These eyeshadows are part of Urban Decays usual colour range, however the formula has recently been improved. The colours are very build-able, with my swatches, I packed the colour on so you could see the true pigments. Based on that, it is up to you how far you want to go with the eyeshadow colours.

However, I will say this, when applying the shadow there is quite a bit of fall out, so when you are done you will need to go over the under eye area. This is not a deal breaker for me, I think that this is to be expected when you have amazing colours like these in the Ammo palette and not to mention the price.

In my opinion this is fantastic, fun and creative palette, in which every girl can enjoy themselves and create gorgeous looks that they would not usually dream of. Urban Decay have such fun palettes and I feel that the Ammo palette is one for those special occasions or when you want to add some wow to your makeup look.

This palette can also accommodate women of any age group. My mum and sister actually choose this for me as a gift. And I recall my mum saying that she loved the colours and would wear them herself.

The pigments are amazing, the texture is smooth and buttery and longevity is also good, I think this also has to do with the excess fallout when applying, this makes the eyeshadow last longer.

My overall rating: 7/10 – Urban Decay did it again and created a gorgeous palette for every woman.

I hope this helps lovelies, have a great day and remember stay sweet xoxo

With summer fast approaching I find that my skin color is changing quickly too. Being Native America

With summer fast approaching I find that my skin color is changing quickly too. Being Native American I find that I change quite a bit this time of year, its time to purchase new foundation, blush and concealer. It has also blessed me with natural oils to keep my skin healthy and unfortunately lead to breakout and acne scarring. So, I keep that in mind when I buy my cosmetics.

I have recently found a foundation I really enjoy using: http://www.neutrogena.com/product/skinclearing+liquid+makeup.do?sortby=ourPicks

It has a good coverage and contains salicylic acid for keeping my skin clear as I havedealt with acne and have come to find some processes that are working to keepmy skin from breaking out. Right now I am using the natural tan color, I will most likely try the tan which is the darkest shade they make.

I have also been using a tinted moisturizer with an SPF in it and I may continue to use it throughout the summer as it offer a light coverage with a great color.

https://www.toofaced.com/p-1118-tinted-beauty-balm-multi-benefit-skin-care-makeup.aspx

It blends well and has a nice minimal coverage. I use the darkest shade and find that in the winter when I am at my lightest skin tone it offers a nice bronzer-look. I use it as a primer, alone or with a touch of powder…it looks great anyway you wear it! (this is one of the products I have spent the most on but I really enjoy it)

Another concern I have during this time of the year is finding a good blush, as I can be darker in color I have a difficult time finding a color that doesn’t look like a clown applied my blush. lol. Have any good blush recommendations? Cream blushes sound great but I have yet to play with them to find a nice way to get a good effect.

I have been curious about highlighter vs. light diffused primer, which to pick? I think I will investigate and get back to you on that one. Which will make my complexion look nice without making it too oily or greasy? I feel like being native limits me in this area, perhaps I just haven’t found the right product.

One last tip I can not leave without mentioning is: http://www.beautyblender.net/sponge.html

I love this sponge for applying foundation and even powder!

So since my blog is about nothing (and everything) all at once, I figure it’s high time I throw in that obligatory, female blogger, “here’s how to live” post. Except here’s the kicker. I’m not the best at this. And you can probably afford all my beauty “essentials.” You can probably afford them all in one trip. No scrimping and saving for a face cream made from the blood of unicorns the tears of virgins here.

But before we get into the products, here’s how I achieve a generally good complextion: Wash my face at night and use sunscreen. Really, that’s it. And I get zits, especially around my period, but my nightly skincare “ritual” consists of washing my face with off-brand neutrogena knock off facial soap and a washcloth. That and Burts Bees chapstick. Love that minty fresh taste.

Skin:

So ths delightful Polyvore collage (hey, I’m expanding) is the shit I use to keep my skin generally good. I mentioned the face wash, the sunscreen and the lip gloss. I use coconut oil instead of lotion. I like the smell, it’s cheap, it doesn’t break me out, and it absorbs quickly (great for pole). I use oxy spot treatment on zits. I’ve been using it since high school. It appears to work.

Makeup:

kateholzhauer

My makeup routine isn’t elaborate (which isn’t to say I don’t sometimes do elaborate makeup.) Since I’m focusing on essentials, I’ll stick to the stuff I put on most days. I tend to go makeup free 3-4 days a week, just because I feel like it’s good to let my skin breathe, but here’s the normal. BB cream (lightly tinted, moisturizing, spf, not too expensive,) Mineral powder, because any cream makes me look a little greasy, tinted chapstick. On days when I want to feel fancy, I add mascara. On nights out, I’ll add eyeshadow or lipstick. Maybe even bronzer or blush. But that’s all the
exception rather than the norm.

Hair:

I got lucky. I have really good hair. Long, thick, tough, takes color, heat, abuse and all that well. But I don’t really color heat or abuse it. Hence there not being a slideshow, collage or anything. I just wash it, sleep on wet hair, wake up in the morning, brush it and go. And my shampoo of choice is whatever’s cheapest. I love V05 or Suave.

Other stuff:

stuff

Well, here’s all the other crap I use daily. Toothpaste (with a toothbrush, not pictured,) floss, mouth rinse, shower gel ( I love that this one is called pamplemousse douche, at least in my head,) baby powder, and perfume. I don’t wear perfume every day, but I sniff it every day since the smell makes me happy. It’s Love, Chloe. I got mine in Italy and it smells different than the stuff at sephora. Weird. I do use baby powder every day. I wear a lot of flats without socks, and well, my feet get sweaty, smelly, slippery, and weird. It keeps me from slipping around and stinking up the office. Plus, helps avoid the thigh chafe when I’m running around in skirts all day.

Maybe one day I’ll post about the more exciting stuff I do. I’ve just been a bit boring lately. I’ll own it. Sometimes I’d rather spend my non-boring time out living life.

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I would share with you a recent look I put together while filming my recent makeup tutorial. This look uses two very different styles, but somehow when put together they are a match made in heaven! The look is something in between a floral girlie style with a grunge edge.

The top is gorgeous and is from H&M, it is floral and has black panels on the sides and around the collar. Another beautiful feature of this top is the back, it has buttons all the way down, this adds to the feminine style of it. I decided to make this look more edgy and paired the top with my Portmans leather skinny pants and my Tony Bianco patent black heels.

I went simple with the accessories and wore a silver cuff from Lovisa, a grogoues silver and turquoise ring my sister got for me from Venice Beach LA and my Tiffany and Co silver ball earrings.

The makeup also made this look more bold and edgy, with the dark lipstick NARS Damned lip pencil and the cool browns and greys on my eyes. I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and the Too faced Naked Eye Palette. I finished off the look with Mac Cosmetics blush in peaches and highlighted my face with Mac’s Soft and Gentle highlighting powder.

Question of the Week: From Janet

Q:Best way to cover up dark circles under the eyes? Someone at work actually asked me how I got two black eyes!! Obviously, I need help. -Janet

Thanks for asking Janet! The under eye has a lot of veins that show through your skin… So when you are feeling extra tired and wake up and see dark circles don’t worry! Concealer will be your new best friend:) I love using concealer under my eyes and in my T zone of my face. ( The middle of the eyebrow, bridge of nose, down to under eyes, down to my chin)

Around your eyes and nose and mouth you can have a lot of discoloration, So I like to cover that area with a good concealer.

under your eyes, make sure to Use a good concealer, finishing powder, and a good brush to apply it with.

*A small tip* Make sure to apply concealer under your eyes, up to the base of your bottom lashes. I also like to brush the concealer from the inside corner of your eyes, up to the bridge of your nose. that makes your color even. A lot of people have a blue/green tint in that area of their eyes.

Here is a great example of where to apply the concealer and powder! Thank you pinterest:)

I hope this answered your question Janet! Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Eyebrows…..before and after.

Hey Glammies……Well I wanted to do a quick run down on my eyebrows. I will post a tutorial a little later on. I used a dark brown brow pencil to fill in my brows. I followed that by using a spoolie brush to blend out the brow liner to have a natural look. I used a flat brush to line the shape of my eyebrows with MAC’s Select Cover concealer. I blending that out and continues with the rest of my makeup. Here are the pictures……….the before and after……….and a complete look. Eyebrows are very important. It polishes your look. It’s a must Glammies!! Well until next time….stay glamorous!!

Hi everyone! As I’ve mentioned before, I’m pretty new to using lipstick. Right now, I only have one colour that I really like and feel good in. I’d love to have some brighter, bolder colours in my collection but I’m just awful at matching to my skin tone.

Can anyone give me tips on matching colours? Thank you!
