My little spark has taken leave and is going away for a few days. I’ve devised my distraction with painting, finishing projects and pencil sketching for the next couple of days to keep me from missing that spark. I suppose I can always go to SL or play all sorts of video games but it won’t be the same. I don’t know what I’ll do as soon as I start to miss that dork. 

Cat Updates

I bought Robin a little cat toy for her/him to play with. I showed it to her and laid it on the ground then when the cat saw it, it approached, smelled and then picked it up with it’s mouth and ran off into her lair. I was tickled with how adorable that little bandit was! I took a video and perhaps when I am a little less shy I shall upload the video here.

There’s now an almost pure white male cat outside that lingers, awaiting for his beloved Batman(girl). Literally, he’s just out there waiting by the house that I made her and meowing at her whenever she’s around. I bet he’s saying something like “Girl, pleasseeee… please… please”. He’s in heat you see, so his meows are in a way submissive and sound like he’s begging.

I asked a friend of mine what shall I name this white cat and I think I’ll agree with calling it MarC. I chose the C instead of K because C will stand for Cat and the rest… well it has significant meaning to me. Very. Significant.

Stray cat hits it big with adopted human parents..

If my male cat companion could speak English, he would probably be asking to be seated together with us, his adopted human family during dinner time.

As it is, the little ball of fur has already claimed control over our household; he has the entire house especially the sofa and the guest room as his bed, an individual bathroom in the wet kitchen where his kitty litter box is placed, a loving adopted mother who pampers him, and an adopted sister to scratch and bite whenever he needs some rough kitty play..

Yes, that’s right. Me. Deigned to be Nanba’s adopted sister by my parents. I came home one day from university and found my parents cooing over that cunning little feline while I, the former ‘baby’ of the house was made to feel….old and abandoned.

Mother: “Oooh, look who’s here Nanba..Akka is back! “

Me: “Huh????!!!!”

Mother: (Starts stroking Nanba’s fur and talking to him) ” Nanba is a handsome cat, Nanba is a good cat, Nanba is Amma’s sweetheart…”

Kung fu dreams, maybe?

I could only stare in disbelief at the blatant show of affection that the cat was getting from his adopted human mother. As far as I remember, we kids never got that much of loving praise heaped on us. And this macho male kitten was receiving it, for nothing!

However, I soon got over it as I realized my mother must have been feeling lonely with no one to fuss over when all of her kids left. With the cat at home, she now has a furry little son to take care of and to entertain her.

And did I mention, Nanba does require special care and attention. He was left to die as a three month old kitty because he was too sick to be cared for by his birth mother.

When I found him a year ago near a guard post, Nanba already had his tail cut off by some sadistic, torture-loving human. He was a bag of bones, so undernourished and frail that I feared he was already dead.

Almost miraculously, the little guy managed to get up and started to wobbly make his way among the crowd of humans around him. I carried him back to the shade and hoped that he would stay there while I looked for his owner.Sadly, no one wanted to claim him.That was when I decided to wrap him in my unwashed t-shirt and bring him home.

Ever since then, there has been no turning back for Nanba. With frequent visits to the vet, jabs,antibiotics, and a whole lot of tender loving care, he is now an energetic and mischievous attention seeker…not to forget, sly, parent- snatcher!
