Załoga podśpiewując radosne szanty pod nosem rwała się do pracy. Kajuty były w 100% gotowe do transportowania akt, dokumentów i źródeł do Chattycji. Aura podniecenia osiągnęła apogeum podczas zrzucania cum, w trakcie rzucania z pokładu na ląd i odwrotnie życzeń powodzenia, wspaniałej pogody i owocnej wyprawy, zza pleców marynarzy wynusunął się on – Pan H.

Redakcja ‘Statku Meduzy’ z radością zawiadamia, iż dzięki uprzejmości JE Malika – al – Mulka rozpoczęła się pierwsza chattycka eksploracja naukowo – przyrodnicza. Dowiedzieliśmy się, że jej celem będzie wyspa Neverwerld, na której znajdowało się niegdyś państwo – Monarchia Neverwerld, rządzona przez Karola I Nevera. Po opuszczeniu kraju przez władcę, nastąpił okres anarchii. Próby ratowania wyspiarskiej państwowości podjął Adrian Trydencki (MSZ i MNiK Monarchii), jednak okazały się one niewystarczające i nie udało się zaktywizować obywateli. Do chwili obecnej organy państwowe są w znacznym stopniu rozłożone, nie ma na wyspie władzy centralnej i rządu. Ponadto, Szejk postanowił odszukać w archiwach dokumenty i akty na temat historii jego rodu, ja i ratować zapomnianą już w mikroświecie plantację herbaty neverwerldzkiej – “Herba thea”, która była jego własnością. Azziz jako jedyny mężczyzna nie bał się rudowłosej Dali i regularnie w niedzielne popołudnia przyjmował jej zlecenia na unicestwienie każdego kto miał nawet najmniejsze szanse aby pozbawić ją wpływów. Soldiers coming back from the war and Soldiers preparing to go back to the frontlines, are killed by a muslim extremist whose patience paid off. The likes of Geraldo Rivera along with muslim groups and sympathizers are calling it a “stress related “mass” killing”. Obama and his “female partner” are using this “mass killing” as a kodak moment. Pelosi and her gang of pathetic pieces of human inconvenience are more concerned about socializing healthcare than they are securing the United States of America. All the while, General McCrystal awaits Obama’s decision on whether or not he gets the additional Soldiers he needs to fight these pathetic, witless, koran reading womb rejects.

Gees, I don’t know!! Maybe now would be a great time to SEND the 40 thousand Soldiers to Afghanistan. Better yet!! Why not deploy the United States Armed Forces throughout the continental United States? We need protection too! But from who? Hmmmmm! Is it our current government? Is it muslims?

Hasan NEVER, I say again, NEVER went to the war zone.

NEVER went headfirst into a foxhole dodging a mortar round or two.

NEVER fired a single round defending himself and fellow soldiers.

NEVER took cover from enemy small arms fire.

NEVER returned fire in defense of his position.

He has no claim nor the merit to align himself with the PTSD identifier.

Hasan, like ALL muslims, played on American values winning the hearts and minds of Obama and others, called himself American while singing the national anthem to “prove” he is a legitimate American.

Hasan’s  jihadist charade wasn’t due to stress, it was his “allahu akbar” trash that sprang from his lips that solidified his True intent. Those of us who have been in Iraq and/or Afghanistan, know what’s coming when “allahu akbar” is announced. Hell!!!

The United States Armed Forces should now do what should have been done a long time ago, quarantine and lock up any and all muslims in the United States Armed Forces. Period!! Prevailing circumstances and justifiable cause win out. Then of course, the civilian side of America should follow suit and round up any and all muslims as dictated by the Constitution of the United States. We are at war with muslims and their islamic jihadism. The security of the United States preempts any and all “civil rights” these muslims enjoy as they only cry as an American when it suits their needs and “desires”.

Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) has called for an investigation into whether or not the Army “missed signs that Hasan embraced extremist views of islamic ideology”. Nice try Joe, but it is your fellow Congressmen who endorse enlistments and military service as being a “volunteer, come as you are policy”. No profiling or prejudice. An act of Congress Joe!! You know what that means Joe, no argument or “note of protest” allowed. C’mon Joe, you know the ACLU would challenge every effort to keep America safe. So, why waste your time unless of course you have the American Soldier at your side?

The ACLU has endorsed opening up our streets and neighborhoods to these terrorists. The ACLU is the ACLU. Open borders. Safe havens in American cities for illegals. Criminal rights preferred over victims rights. Ban the American flag. Ban the Catholic or Christian cross.

US Army recruiters and recruits are shot dead in front of recruiting stations. American sons and daughters are being killed by terrorists and illegals and what does our country do? They give these inbred rejects “Rights”.

Remember, it was Janet Napolitano who issued a statement to federal, state and municipal law enforcement agencies warning them of “returning war veterans becoming extremists”. Oh, but the muslim radical extremists are poster children of what America really is and should be? I think this is worth an LOL, don’t you?

Piss on you Napolitano!! You slap the American military in the face, spit on them, while at the same time caressing islam right on the ass. Great Job!! You wouldn’t by any chance be one of those 72 virgins, would you?

The United States Armed Forces serve with their hands tied while bent over. Of course there are military officers, especially in the upper echelon, who prefer to keep their mouths shut for fear of not getting that “political appointment”. And so we are a “nice, obedient military” who for all intent and purpose, gets the shaft both at home and abroad and especially after service. How fruitful!!

Many cheers to you, Napolitano, you were right. There are extremists among our military. My apologies! There is however, one teeny weeny problem. The extremists are the ones we are fighting against in the Middle East. Incidentally, they have infiltrated our military exactly how they infiltrate their own military and police forces in their respective countries. But you knew that, didn’t you?

Bin Laden is a hero who risked it all to prove that America is the Great Satan. Both Hussein and Bin Laden wanted nothing more than peace. Hasan proved this by killing 12 American Soldiers and obiding by the very comic book, the “Koran”, that Bin Laden and Hussein swore by.

Muslims “stress” too!! Really!

Strapping an IED to your body and then the possibility of detonating a bit early would stress me out. I would want to kill as many innocent folks as I could. It’s just part of the “game”. Hasan would agree with me. Which is why he used bullets instead.

Should we send a get well card to Hasan? After all, the poor guy is now paralyzed and we should show our American “heart”.

What really bothers me is the fact that Hasan’s relative stated unequivically, that Hasan was/is a “good” American. Well duh, anybody can be a “good” American. But to prove it…

Not once, since 9/11, have I heard one single muslim say “I am a proud American AND I will defend the United States of America against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. Including fellow muslims or “islamic nut jobs”. Not One!!

If you listen to muslims very closely, you will only hear them say “the koran or islam does not “promote” or “condone” the killing of “innocent” women and children”. Words to ease the mind or just interpretation? Muslims NEVER actually condemn any act of terrorism with honor or integrity. In fact, they never mention men or buildings or collateral damage as “who or what is not to be harmed according to the koran and its teaching”.

How blind are you people?

Liberals, I can understand their ignorance. But Republicans or Conservatives? Is Fox news that convincing?

Are O’Reilly and Limbaugh really that iconic? Look, I am as Republican and/or Conservative as any one person can be, but I do not rely on media that continually promotes its own ratings and skirts the issues.

It is called “attention to detail”. Without it, anything goes.

Hasan did what he did based on simple American beliefs and values. America indulges  complacency. The so-called conservative media allows complacency out of the need for simple “argumentation” so as to create or blindside the Real and True American into a power rating struggle amongst media outlets.

When Limbaugh makes a comment like “I resign the position of being America’s Conservative leader”, two questions come to mind. First, who appointed you the Conservative leader? Second, what makes you compatible with the Republican Conservative agenda? Certainly not your dim witted wit.

If conservative media was true to its intent, then they would be going for the throat. Literally!! Instead, they boast about ratings, waiting for “something” to happen that they could capitalize on with “armchair experts” whose only vested interest is public relations and noteriety. These media talk and information shows use others to argue a point, while the “personalities” use “researchers” to do the important stuff like get facts to make an argument.

This does not require an Einstein I.Q..

Here are some points that will weed out the “fake” republicans or self proclaimed conservatives:

1 – Conservative media highlights the illegal alien issue by using “nice” words and phrases like “illegals cost the American tax payers billions of dollars a year and we need immigration reform now”. Or, “illegals have been killing Americans with their drugs, alcohol abuse and murder”.

Tell me something I don’t know!!

Like: “Put the US military on the border; do away with the Posse Comitatus act; seize any and all assets of the Mexican government and KEEP it as a “down payment” to pay back the American tax payer; round up, detain and criminally charge ALL illegals whether they are fresh out of the womb or drinking Geritol; SEND THEM BACK…………

2- Conservative media is a constant voice when it comes to the economy. They say things like: “All of the money from the bailout has yet to be dispersed”; “Where is all of the money going?”; The banks are beginning to pay their share of the bailout money back”; “the bailout money was supposed to save or create jobs”; “there is no “credit” or “financial relief” for the hard working American family”.

Again, Duh!!!

Why not try blasting the government for its intentional abuse of the American taxpayer. The government should have frozen ALL credit reporting activity and and levied fines against ALL financial institutions who continue to report negative credit activity. Establish as non binding, the three credit reporting companies who have done more harm than good to people and families and have created their own version of credit reporting without due process and making money from people who are or have been struggling. Require them to request in writing, permission to release any information for fee or free to companies who request it whether for credit purchases or employment; require banks to stop charging overdraft fees, ATM fees, checking fees, and late fees; banks will be charged by the consumer fees of inconvenience; false charge fees; wrongful entry fees and uncashed check fees among others; with the money that has exchanged hands between the government and financial, income tax should be frozen for one year based on economic status and all income should be tax free…..

Wishful thinking? No! Just plain, simple logic minus the backbone.

Terrorists can be afforded rights, money and health care much like their illegal counterparts, yet the broke, struggling, American taxpayer foots the tab. FOR EVERYTHING!!! For the simpleminded, it is called SOCIALISM which is designed to require a people to “DEPEND” on its government or dictatorship.

This is a 1+1 and if you can’t figure that out, you have more issues than you think. Stick with the liberal, bleeding heart, ill fated venture, you deserve it!!!

Hasan is due a firing squad, “whoever get’s to him first”.Go for the throat!! But you liberals want to give him a chance so the assumption is, a possible rehabilitation program, right? Right!!

As Real and True Americans, we must begin to take matters into our own hands. Politics and media are not concerned about America, but only what they can “reap or steal” from it. This is not about “how” we deal with muslims, the economy, terrorists, illegals, financial fraud against hard working Americans and anti-Americanism in all its forms, this is about “what” we are going to do about it.

Unless we have the fortitude and courage to stand beside the Constitution and the Bill of Rights ignoring political correctness, then we are going in a “one way, bad way”, with no return. America is my country and I am going to take her back.

The Hasans and bin Ladens of the world, the banks of the world, the criminals of the world and the politically correct must all be aware. We are coming and it will be on our time, not yours. We have seen enough. You show no respect, you get no respect……

Hasan has proven that with terrorism, comes hell, and with hell, comes a government of no courage or values……….a government that continues to fine tune its own terroristic tendencies. Think people, think.

May islam burn in hell as it has disrupted the American dream and our future. Kind of like what the American government has done recently.

Stand up America!! We are not extremists, we are just extremely mad and will now focus on our American future that the current “government” forbids. We don’t rant, we speak with intensity and logic. Remember those who have given us this opportunity, not the Hasans…and Obama’s.

I know I haven’t written anything in well over a week.  I’ve been pretty busy but here’s what I think of the latest news and scandals:

Fort Hood Shootings

The Fort Hood shootings were just sad and very very tragic.  Our heart goes out to those who lost a loved one in those shootings.  Malik Nadal Hasan is go away to prison for the rest of his life.  What he did can never be justified.

Josh Duhamel’s Infedilty
I think this is all just a big rumor.  The stripper just wants money and attention, because everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame.  Josh Duhamel doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that would cheat on his wife.  I hope that this all gets resolved soon, so we can stop having to listen to the stripper that doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

Water On The Moon

I hope that there really is water on the Moon.  This way space exploration can really evolve even more and hopefully, one day, civilians will b e able to go to the moon easily.

New York Times/Frank Rich—The dead at Fort Hood had not even been laid to rest when their massacre became yet another political battle cry for the self-proclaimed patriots of the American right.

Their verdict was unambiguous: Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an American-born psychiatrist of Palestinian parentage who sent e-mail to a radical imam, was a terrorist. And he did not act alone. His co-conspirators included our military brass, the Defense Department, the F.B.I., the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the Joint Terrorism Task Force and, of course, the liberal media and the Obama administration. All these institutions had failed to heed the warning signs raised by Hasan’s behavior and activities because they are blinded by political correctness toward Muslims, too eager to portray criminals as sympathetic victims of social injustice, and too cowardly to call out evil when it strikes 42 innocents in cold blood.

The invective aimed at these heinous P.C. pantywaists nearly matched that aimed at Hasan. Joe Lieberman announced hearings to investigate the Army for its dereliction of duty on homeland security. Peter Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, vowed to unmask cover-ups in the White House and at the C.I.A. The Weekly Standard blog published a broadside damning the F.B.I. for neglecting the “broader terrorist plot” of which Hasan was only one of the connected dots. Jerome Corsi, the major-domo of the successful Swift-boating of John Kerry, unearthed what he said was proof that Hasan had advised President Obama during the transition.

William Bennett excoriated soft military leaders like Gen. George Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff, who had stood up for diversity and fretted openly about a backlash against Muslim soldiers in his ranks. “Blind diversity” that embraces Islam “equals death,” wrote Michelle Malkin. “There is a powerful case to be made that Islamic extremism is not some fringe phenomenon but part of the mainstream of Islamic life around the world,” wrote the columnist Jonah Goldberg. Islam is “not a religion,” declared the irrepressible Pat Robertson, but “a violent political system bent on the overthrow of the governments of the world.”

Since news of the heinous Fort Hood massacre at the hands of Major Malik Nidal Hassan first broke out, “Islam Scholar” Robert Spencer, of f**kislam fame, has been like a gluttonous kid in a candy shop, frantically blogging over three dozen times with one goal in mind: slap down the blame on Islam and Muslims at large.

That is precisely the line that every sane responder has warned against. Whether it was the American Muslim leadership, the US military leadership, the mainstream media, or the President of the United States. But to Spencer who is rubbing his hands praying that a massive backlash could befall the American Muslim community, the sanity that he is hearing and seeing from mainstream America is cause for anger, bitterness, and complaints.

For the “Islam Scholar,” everyone including the US Military leadership are “dhimmi” wimps afraid of the Mooslims. Fancy that, a sedentary blogger who barely gets off his backside where he sits day and night punching away at a keyboard sees fit to accuse those who venture on the war frontiers risking their lives to protect this country (including his) of being cowardly sell-out wimps.

As pretentious and downright sick as that is, Spencer who is drenched in his own bias and deafened by the screeching sound of his own propaganda will likely fail to take notice.

Spencer’s mad response of course is entirely predictable, after all he has shown tremendous consistency and undying loyalty to a line of arguments whose sole agenda is to drive a wedge between America’s faith communities and make a compelling case for the widespread hate of Islam and distrust of Muslims.

Accordingly, only moments after news of the shooting was made public, the opportunistic preacher wasted no time getting on his e-pulpit and positing that the shooter was carrying out a legitimate Islamic Jihad, a religious requirement of all Muslims (unbeknownst to you and them for that matter). Since then, he has immersed himself in whipping out a flurry of dishonest and sinister propaganda posts, cherry picking items to strengthen his case, and completely ignoring those that do not.

For example, Spencer seems to the be the only one who missed the tremendous outpouring of support from the American Muslim community and their organizations of whom CAIR, MPAC, ISNA, and virtually every registered Muslim organization – if not Mosque – in the United States were quick to issue condemnation and condolences as they expressed that such action has no support in their Islamic faith. Some even started support networks for the victims. Not a peep from Spencer. Instead, all the expedient Spencer could see was that one 18 year old kid and this one Imam in Yemen (condemned by Muslim orgs in the US and refuted by American imams) who supported the killing. Oh and wait, there is a radical web forum out there too. “Aha! There you have it, it’s a MOOOSLIM thing! It’s Izlaahm! Am I lying about anything I posted?”

Lying by highly selective reporting and glaring omission, yet another example of the objective scholarly ways of the “Islam Scholar” Robert Spencer.

Spencer’s three dozen posts on the Fort Hood massacre fall into one of three rants:

1) Incriminate the faith of 1.5 billion Muslims who had nothing to do with Hassan’s actions, and 7 million American Muslims who condemned his act (moved ironically by their faith to do so). Question the loyalty of Muslims in the military, ignoring that there are 3500 active Muslim service men and women in excellent standing.

2) Cherry pick any instance of support for the massacre regardless of how off the beaten path they are while turning a blind eye to the zillions of instances of more credible and representative Muslim voices condemning it.

3) Whine when others take a pass on your loon rants. Throw a temper tantrum at the mainstream media, the US military, the public and everyone else; respond by ridiculing them as dhimmis and wimps. (Take solace in the fact that at least Lou Dobbs and slimey Senator Joe Lieberman may come through for you).

Muslim Americans Must Obey US Laws; Nidal M. Hasan Disobeyed Islamic Doctrine

The Islamophobic blogosphere has gone buck-wild.  Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller, and the rest of the goof troop are pretty ecstatic that Major Nidal Hasan, a Muslim American, killed thirteen U.S. soldiers at Fort Hood.  Nothing makes a neo-conservative happier than an attack on American soil; as the family of the victims mourn the dead, the anti-Muslim ideologues gleefully co-opt the situation to market their hate-filled beliefs.

The Islamophobes claim that Major Hasan was simply “being a devout Muslim” when he opened fire on his fellow soldiers.  According to them, this is a part of Jihad, an obligation in Islam.  As such, the enemy is not just extremists, radicals, or terrorists; but rather, it is Islam itself.  It is not then a gross perversion of a religion by zealots that result in such horrific attacks, but rather the exact opposite: it is a faithful understanding of the Islamic religion which results in terrorism.  That’s what they claim at least.

There is, according to these anti-Muslim bigots, a conspiracy by Muslim Americans to overtake the country from within.  The tactics to do so can be non-violent (“Stealth Jihad”) or overtly violent (such as 9/11 or the Fort Hood Massacre), but the goal is the same: to overthrow the U.S. government, rip the Constitution to shreds, and enact Sharia (Islamic law) in the West.  It is for this reason, you–the average American Joe–need to fear your Muslim neighbor.

The Covenant of Security

But experts of the Islamic legal tradition say differently.  The Islamic religion commands believers to obey the laws of the land they live in, even if it be one ruled by nonbelievers.  Muslim jurists consider citizenship (or visa) to be a covenant (aqd) held between the citizen (or visa holder) and the state, one which guarantees safe passage/security (amaan) in exchange for certain obligations (such as obeying the laws of the land); covenants are considered sacredly binding in Islam.  The Quran commands:

And fulfill every covenant.  Verily, you will be held accountable with regard to the covenants. (Quran, 17:34)

The Quran condemns those who break covenants as not being true believers:

It is not the case that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throws it aside. Nay! The truth is most of them believe not. (Quran, 2:100)

The Islamic prophet Muhammad described the religious hypocrite as follows:

When he enters into a covenant, he proves treacherous. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Citizenship (and visa) is called in Islamic legal parlance as a “covenant of security” (aqd al-aman).  For over a thousand years, Muslim scholars have rigorously affirmed the binding nature of the covenant of security.  This covenant of security can be of two types: (1) a contractual agreement or (2) a customary understanding.

Naturalized citizens in the United States enter into a contractual agreement with the government when they declare the oath of allegiance, as follows:

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…”

A Muslim is obliged to keep to his word, and thus this oath is religiously binding upon him.

Natural born citizens, on the other hand, do not utter any such oath, so they fall under the second category under Islamic law.  The covenant of security is considered for them a customary understanding, in the sense that even though they did not physically say an oath or sign a document of loyalty, it is understood that there exists between the citizen and the government a covenant of security; this, i.e. customary understanding, is considered by Islamic law to be just as binding as the contractual agreement.  There is no difference between the two.

Betraying the Covenant is Forbidden

What the 9/11 hijackers did was a violation of Islamic law for multiple reasons.  The most obvious of these is the prohibition of killing civilians, but it should also be pointed out that they violated the covenant of security between them and the United States, which granted them visas to enter the country.  Using Islamic lingo, the U.S. government granted safe passage (amaan) to the 19 hijackers, and thus they entered into a covenant (aqd), which they subsequently violated.

The United States government granted them visas with the understanding that they would come to the country to study, or seek medical treatment, or for sightseeing, etc., but not for waging war within their lands or killing their citizenry.  Even if a Muslim country is at war with a non-Muslim one, it would not be permissible for a Muslim fighter to enter into enemy territory by requesting safe passage (amaan) and then subsequently killing enemy troops once he crosses over.

The classical Islamic jurist, Muhammad al-Shaybani (died 805 A.D.) expounded:

If it happens that a company of Muslims pass through the enemy’s front lines by deceptively pretending to be messengers of the Muslim’s ruler carrying official documents–or if they were just allowed to pass through the enemy lines–they are not allowed to engage in any hostilities with the enemy troops. Neither are they entitled to seize any of their money or properties as long as they are in their area of authority.

Both the 9/11 hijackers and Major Nidal Hasan violated this sacred principle of Islam.  They gained the trust of those whom they considered their enemies, and then when those they consider enemies were caught unaware, they killed them.  In other words, these criminals took advantage of the fact that they had been trusted, and violated this trust.  Such a thing is considered unacceptable in Islam.

(It should be noted that Muslim Americans don’t see themselves as living in “enemy territory,” but the point is that even if Nidal Hasan saw the U.S. in that light, then he still wouldn’t be allowed under the Islamic belief system to do what he did.  Of course, the point applies even more to those Muslim Americans who see themselves as distinctly American and who love the country.)

The Quran does say that if the believers are being oppressed in some land, then the Muslims should come to their assistance.  But it forbids fighting against those with whom a covenant exists.  The Quran says:

If [your coreligionists] ask for your aid in religion, then you must help them, except against people with whom you have covenants with. (Quran, 8:72)

A Muslim American Must Obey the Constitution and Never Rebel Against the U.S. Government

A Muslim must abide by his covenant, which includes obeying the laws of the land he lives in, no matter how he entered into the country, be it by birth, legal (or even illegal) immigration.  (Entering countries illegally with forged documents is considered forbidden in Islam, but if one commits this sin, he cannot commit the further sin of then using it as an excuse to violate the laws of the land.)  Salman al-Oudah, a senior religious cleric, says:

[Islamic] scholars have stated that those who enter non-Muslim countries have to adhere to their respective laws and regulations even if they entered those countries illegally, and they have no excuse for breaking those laws, since they were entrusted to abide by those laws upon entry into those countries…As long as [a Muslim] agrees to live in a non-Muslim country, he is never to rebel against the people living in his choice of residence, even it seems too hard for him to endure.

From a religious angle, Muslim Americans are forbidden to rebel against the U.S. government.  They are not allowed to seek to overthrow the government, rip up the Constitution (which they gave an oath to uphold!), etc.  They are not allowed to cheat on taxes, steal from anyone, kill or harm any of their fellow citizens, etc.  Instead, they should be law-abiding citizens–according to the Islamic religion and the consensus (ijma) of the Muslim clerics since the last 1,400 years, in spite of Al-Qaeda’s reinterpretation (perversion) of religious doctrine.

Even if hypothetically the U.S. law were to stipulate a condition which was against Islamic teachings, the Muslim American would still have to follow it, as the Islamic cleric I quoted above says:

[Muslims] have to avoid whatever contradicts Islamic teachings. In case they are obliged by law to uphold something contrary to Islamic teachings, they have to adhere to the minimum that the law requires of them.

This idea–that Muslim Americans should uphold the laws of the land–is taught in mosques across the country with great unanimity, so the Islamophobic fear mongering is ill-founded.

Conclusion

The actions of Islamic extremists–such as the 9/11 hijackers and Major Nidal Hasan–flout the normative tradition of Islam and the teachings which millions of Muslim Americans follow.  It is therefore inappropriate to conclude that the religion of Islam itself advocates such things, or that these attackers were simply following their religion.  Such a thing is offensive to say and quite frankly inaccurate.

In any case, it is too early to say with any level of certainty what Major Hasan’s motivations were.  Was he an extremist or simply a guy who lost his marbles like so many other shooters?  Whatever the case, one thing is for sure: his actions do not reflect the Islamic teachings nor the millions of law-abiding Muslim Americans.

A grande maioria dos atores são novatos, e daí poderíamos esperar que uma cuidadosa seleção tenha sido feita para escolher os protagonistas da versão 2009 de um filme que atraiu multidões aos cinemas no início dos anos 80: os que eram ligados a dança inclusive assistiam várias sessões seguidas — em uma época em que isso ainda era permitido nos cinemas nacionais.

Mas o que se vê nas telas agora é um grupo de jovens atores esforçados mas com pouquíssimo carisma. Vale lembrar que não costumo comparar filmes originais e seus remakes: cada obra tem seu lugar no tempo e na memória do cinéfilo, e os trabalhos de diretores, atores e roteiros diferentes não devem ser comparados para tentar definir melhores e piores. Neste caso, porém, é inevitável, até porque no início o filme de 2009 deixa claro que é baseado “no filme” anterior. Seja como for, temo que mesmo quem nunca soube que existiu um “Fama” anterior não vai ser surpreendido com um grande filme.

O filme é até um bom entretenimento, mas não tem o “poder de fogo” da obra de Alan Parker — que, e por que não, agora se consolida como um clássico dos anos 80. Em boa parte, falta ritmo e atuações que conquistem o público. As cenas de dança são boas, mas não contagiam, e falta mais… música! Até o ballet quase não tem lugar, ainda que tenha dado mais espaço (e que bom) ao sapateado, por exemplo.

Mas o principal problema é mesmo dos atores. A dupla Kay Panabaker (que faz o papel de Jenny e é quase um clone de nossa talentosa Amanda Acosta) e Asher Book (que interpreta Marco, de bela voz mas pouco carisma) definitivamente não funciona. Salvam-se Naturi Naughton (Denise) — que protagoniza uma bela cena ao piano numa interpretação intensa e mais aguda de “On My Own” — e Collins Pennie (Malik), mas ainda assim não são suficientes para dar a força necessária para o filme ser lembrado no futuro. Não há nem mesmo qualquer clima de competição acirrada — no início do filme, achei que seria explorado na Alice de Kherington Payne, mas nada acontece… No fundo, o tom do filme é de uma versão bem menos vibrante do (ótimo) “High School Musical”…

A estranha fotografia e os figurinos ‘indefinidos’ também não ajuda, porque não situa o filme nem na década de 80 nem nos tempos atuais: afinal, em que época as situações acontecem ? À exceção da relação de Denise com os pais, nenhum conflito é apresentado consistentemente de forma a cativar o espectador ou criar algum tipo de suspense ou emoção. Saí do cinema achando que o ‘making of’ do filme — mostrando os testes para a seleção do elenco e os ensaios do filme — formariam um longa bem mais interessante.

Em tempo: o melhor de “Fama” versão 2009 filme talvez seja mesmo a cena dos créditos… adivinhem ao som de que canção ?

I have no history of being in the military.  I have no relatives in the military. Yet I cannot help but discuss the catastrophe that occurred at Fort Hood, Texas, on November 5, 2009.    A U.S military soldier drew his high powered pistol and with vengeance on his mind, shot and killed 13 people and brutally wounded 38 others before being captured.   Witnesses state that seconds before the shooting spree, he dropped to his knees and spoke the words “Allahu akbar”, which means “God is great”.  Many witnesses believe that the killer performed these acts due to an adamant dedication and an unyielding loyalty to his God – “Allah”. 

Observers noted that Major Nidal Malik Hasan seemed to know his fate months before the preposterous act.  Days after moving to Fort Hood, he had purchased the high powered gun used in the slaying.  He had discussions with members in his mosque pertaining to his anti-American views and often complained of the discriminatory treatment of Muslims in the military.    While he was assigned to depart Fort Hood and assume active duty overseas, he actively opposed the transfer and detested fighting in both the Afghanistan and Iranian wars.  He expressed his desire to leave the military, and seldom socialized with other militants. He conversed with his next door neighbor about his faith, and gave the friend a copy of the Koran minutes before he left to commit the abhorrent act.  In the end, he paid tribute to his God by stating “God is great”, and then began his irreversible slayings.  The facts speak – Husan was a crusader of his cause – and the cause was not for Americans.

I cannot help but think about the victims of this tragedy.  Some of the victims were soldiers preparing to leave for Iraq or Afghanistan to defend our country and to fight our enemies.   One victim recently returned from Iraq because she was six weeks pregnant.  Another victim was preparing to propose to his girlfriend before deploying overseas. Other victims were medical caretakers. The victimization not only involves the individuals attacked, but extends to the family members and friends as well.  Parents lost children, siblings lost brothers and sisters, friends lost friends.  Many people will be painfully affected by this horrific act for a very long time.

Could this act of brutality have been prevented?  Should Husan have been excused from his militant roles upon realization that he was against the principles of the U.S. military? While no one could have predicted the exact timing of this event, there were obvious clues pointing to its possible occurrence.   At minimal, I think the U.S military could have performed an investigation to analyze his antagonist behavior.  Upon discovery of Husan’s desire to leave the troops, and based on discovery of his opposing U.S. military beliefs, I believe he should have been excused from his duty based on traitor allegations.  On the contrary, it is possible that the military officials were unaware of his behavior and thus could do nothing about it.  Regardless, would transferring him out of the service have stopped him from killing innocent men and women? Considering that he had conviction in his heart and mind to kill Americans, the probability is great that it would have occurred elsewhere.  While I don’t think this act could have been prevented, at very best he could have been investigated, monitored and discharged had his behavior been made known to the officials.  I am confident that the U.S. military does a thorough job at screening military applicants.  In this case, it seems evident that Husan fooled a lot of people into believing his initial devotion to the U.S. cause.  Yet in time, his true heart was revealed and his adversarial intentions were exposed.

The mass shooting in Fort Hood, Texas represents evil in severe form.  On the contrary, the most important issue to address involves the many heroes that arose to the occasion to protect and to provide medical assistance to the victims in need.  In the end, it is these heroes, the victims, and all of the U.S. soldiers that defend our country day-after-day that matters the most.  While evil acts happen Worldwide, I believe good will triumph in the end.  Every act of terror lends opportunity for a hero to be born and to shine to the World. Thanks to all members of the military for their selfless acts of service and courage to ensure our enduring safety and freedom.  Without you, life would be a whole lot different for all of us today.

Guy Fawkes & The KJV

This past Thursday, November 5, 2009 a fellow by the name of Malik Nidal Hasan shot up the army base at Fort Hood killing 13 and wounding 31. But something you may not know is that the British celebrate November 5 (Guy Fawkes Day) kind of the way we celebrate 9/11.

November 5, 1605 was the day a group of Catholics had plotted to blow up the King of England along with the entire parliament. Most Catholics of that day like most Muslims of our day wouldn’t have participated but wouldn’t have felt too bad about it either.

In 1605 the economy was on the rise and thriving kind of like it was in 2001 when terrorists flew planes into the twin towers. The King knew he had opposition but never imagined it would escalate to the level it did.

The name of the King was James and he was a student of the Bible.  He wrote a paraphrase of the Book of the Revelation and even translated some of the Psalms.

But being king of England wasn’t James’ first crowning achievement.  In fact, James was only 13 months old when he was crowned James VI of Scotland on July 29, 1567. Five months earlier his father had died in a bomb blast at his home. Then 20 years later his mother was beheaded at the age of 44. Finally, in 1603 when Elizabeth died, James VI of Scotland was crowned King James I of England.

I don’t know if James was a saved man but when you study the history behind Nov 5, 1605, you can’t help but see the hand of God at work.  Historians speculate that they would have carried out the plot sooner but for some strange reason the meeting of parliament had been delayed.

If you’ve ever noticed in football, sometimes when one team goes to kick a field goal the other team will call a timeout.  They don’t call a timeout because they need it.  They call a timeout because they want the kicker to get shook up thinking about his next kick.  And when God delayed the meeting of parliament those men got nervous.

Some of them even took the time to try and warn several members of Parliament to stay away from the court that day (all of which were Catholics too). One of those was Lord Chamberlain Monteagle.  When he received an anonymous letter telling him to avoid parliament that day, he immediately brought it to the attention of the King

The king and his people had little to go on. On November 4, 1605 they were still investigating and looking for clues, when, at the stroke of midnight they discovered Guy Fawkes standing outside the cellar door of Westminster Palace. The men had searched the cellar before and found nothing.  But after finding a tinderbox and some matches in the pocket of Guy Fawkes, they decided to search it again.

This time, under a pile of firewood and coal they found 36 barrels of gunpowder sitting right under the spot where King James would be standing in just a few short hours.

So at 1 AM they woke up the King and drug Fawkes in to stand before him. Historians say that he stood emotionless, regretting only that he had failed in his attempt to kill the King. If I’m not mistaken they used “enhanced interrogation techniques,” otherwise known as “torture” to make him give up the names of his buddies.   None of them ever stood trial but died in a shootout when authorities tried to apprehend them. Not long afterward, Guy Fawkes was tried and hung all by himself in St. Paul’s churchyard.

400 years later the British celebrate Guy Fawkes Day as a day they killed the Catholics who tried to kill their King.

Now, why would Satan have wanted to destroy the King and his parliament? Perhaps because only a year before that day the new King had given permission to a large group of scholars to begin work on a new translation of the Bible.   This translation would never have been completed had Fawkes and his Catholic co-conspirators been successful.  But they weren’t and in 1611 the new translation was completed, presented, and dedicated to King James.

Most King James Bibles still have this dedication in the front of the Book.

WorldNetDaily links to a document published by the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University. Hasan’s name appears on page 29 of a report titled “Thinking Anew – Security Priorities for the Next Administration…Presidential Transition Task Force,” April 2009-January 2009.

It is confirmed that the Nidal Hasan in listed in the document is the same Hasan who murdered and allegedly wounded fellow soldiers at Fort Hood. Hasan apparently applied to sit on the task force through the University’s website, and was present at several meetings. Hasan served as a member of the Uniformed Service University School of Medicine.

This task force was tasked with developing homeland security policy.

The HSPI [Homeland Security Policy Institute] fashions itself a “think and do tank” and claims its mission as that of building “bridges between theory and practice to advance homeland security through an interdisciplinary approach.” I wonder if one of those bridges leads to “understanding” the mindset of terrorists like Hasan, a participant in George Washington University’s “think and do” mission?

Watching the horrific events at Fort Hood unfold yesterday, it saddens me to admit that one of the first things that came to my mind, once the shooter was identified, was “oh no, what is the right-wing going to do with this?” Today, after seeing some fair and some not so fair coverage of the Fort Hood Massacre, it reminded me of what General Colin Powell said on Meet the Press in October of last year. When asked by host, Tom Brokaw whether he was prepared to announce whether he was endorsing John McCain or Barack Obama, Powell answered with a very long explanation on how he came to the decision to endorse Barack Obama for president and how he felt about the recent actions of the GOP. Towards the end of his answer, he said something that needs to be said again and again, regarding some of the countries reaction to the events at Fort Hood.

I’m also troubled by, not what Senator McCain says, but what members of the party say. And it is permitted to be said such things as, “Well, you know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim.” Well, the correct answer is, he is not a Muslim, he’s a Christian. He’s always been a Christian. But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer’s no, that’s not America. Is there something wrong with some seven-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president? Yet, I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion, “He’s a Muslim and he might be associated terrorists.” This is not the way we should be doing it in America.

I feel strongly about this particular point because of a picture I saw in a magazine. It was a photo essay about troops who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. And one picture at the tail end of this photo essay was of a mother in Arlington Cemetery, and she had her head on the headstone of her son’s grave. And as the picture focused in, you could see the writing on the headstone. And it gave his awards–Purple Heart, Bronze Star–showed that he died in Iraq, gave his date of birth, date of death. He was 20 years old. And then, at the very top of the headstone, it didn’t have a Christian cross, it didn’t have the Star of David, it had crescent and a star of the Islamic faith. And his name was Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan, and he was an American. He was born in New Jersey. He was 14 years old at the time of 9/11, and he waited until he can go serve his country, and he gave his life. Now, we have got to stop polarizing ourself in this way. And John McCain is as nondiscriminatory as anyone I know. But I’m troubled about the fact that, within the party, we have these kinds of expressions.~~Colin Powell

A Muslim Soldier’s View from Fort Hood

Kamran Pasha—Major Nidal Malik Hasan is a murderer and has brought great shame upon every American Muslim in the armed forces.

There are currently over 10,000 Muslim soldiers in the U.S. military, men and women who are patriotic and love their country and their fellow service members. Hasan’s evil actions, the murder of his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood, have now brought those honorable soldiers’ loyalties into question.

The Islamophobe community on the Internet is trumpeting how Hasan’s behavior is reflective of the threat Americans face from their Muslim neighbors, and how radical Islamists have infiltrated the ranks of our military. Calls for purging the military, and perhaps even the United States, of its Muslim members have already begun.

Today there are dozens of families mourning the attack on their loved ones by a fellow-in-arms. And there are hundreds of Muslims at Fort Hood who knew Hasan and are stunned that he would betray their country and their community with such cold, calculated ease. Hasan’s rampage has truly shattered many more lives than we can begin to imagine.

I spoke today with a friend who is a Muslim soldier stationed at Fort Hood. He is a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Army and a recent convert to Islam. He agreed to share his perspective with me if I granted him anonymity. So we will call him Richard.

Richard is exactly the kind of soldier we need to protect our country from those that seek to do us harm. A combat veteran who has served in Iraq, Richard became interested in studying Islam initially as a strategic means of understanding his adversary in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks. But as he began to study the religion’s teachings, he became struck by how different they were from what was being claimed by men like Osama Bin Laden.

Jon Soltz—Yesterday was one of the most tragic days in the military, in the midst of a slew of tragic days as we continue to see casualties in Afghanistan. Innocent soldiers lost their lives, and many more were injured, at the hands of a very troubled Major at Ft. Hood. Our hearts go out to all those who lost their lives, their families, and those wounded.

Like many, I’m angry and confused, as well, at how this could possibly happen. But, until the facts are all known, I won’t jump to conclusions, or cast aspersions at a large group of Americans, like the disgraceful hosts of FOX and Friends.

During an interview with Geraldo Rivera, the FOX and Friends hosts twice implied that this is some kind of Muslim problem. Of course, they didn’t come out and say it outright, they couched it in the form of a question, like FOX News can be so good at. You know, like their teasers, “President Obama. Does He Hate America?”

Brian Kilmeade asked if it’s time to have “special debriefings” or “special screenings” of all Muslims in the military. Because, as he said, “If I’m gonna be deployed in a foxhole, if I’m gonna be deployed in an outpost, I’m gonna want to know that the guy next to me isn’t gonna want to kill me.”

Perhaps sensing that they were not being offensive enough, Gretchen Carlson chimed in, “Could it be that our own military is so politically correct right now…to be careful about treatment of Muslims that they would have allowed this to go by?”

FORT HOOD, TX — The military says a 13th victim died early Friday morning after a mass shooting at Fort Hood in Texas. The suspect, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is alive on a ventilator, paralyzed and unconscious.

Canadian Press/Lee-Anne Goodman— His name had barely been released, his heritage and history not immediately known, but the reaction was fast and furious.

“Jihad at Fort Hood? Shooter: Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan,” was the headline of a post on the Jihad Watch blog just moments after Hasan was identified as the perpetrator of a mass shooting at the Texas military base that killed 12 people, himself included, and wounded 31 others.

“The name tells us a lot, does it not, senator?” Fox News’s Shep Smith said while interviewing Kay Bailey Hutchison, a Texas senator.

The Arab-American Institute said it received one threatening call from an unidentified male shortly after Hasan’s name was released. The group, which condemned the massacre, said it was expecting more.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations scheduled a Capitol Hill news conference on Thursday night to urge calm.

“No political or religious ideology could ever justify or excuse such wanton and indiscriminate violence,” the group said in a statement.

“The attack was particularly heinous in that it targeted the all-volunteer army that protects our nation. American Muslims stand with our fellow citizens in offering both prayers for the victims and sincere condolences to the families of those killed or injured.”

ABC News reported that Hasan, a psychiatrist who once practiced in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., was reportedly an Islam convert despondent about being deployed to Iraq and upset about the war.

Military officials told the Associated Press that Hasan was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington for six years before being transferred to Fort Hood in July. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because military records are confidential, said he received a poor performance evaluation at Walter Reed.

Suspected Gunman Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan

Hasan, born in Virginia and in his late 30s, was single with no children. The Austin American-Statesman reported his parents were originally from Jordan.

Robert Spencer, the director of the Jihad Watch blog and the author of nine books on Islam and jihad, chastised the media for failing to point to jihad as a possible explanation for Hasan’s crime.

“No one, no one at all, in the mainstream media is discussing jihad as a motivation,” Spencer wrote. “It’s all about ‘snapping,’ ’not wanting to go to war’ …. If this turns out to be a jihad attack, watch for the president to caution against ‘backlash’ and ’Islamophobia.”’

Elsewhere in the blogosphere, commenters warned of exactly that kind of backlash.

“How long before some idiotic elected official declares Muslims shouldn’t be allowed to serve in the military?” asked Salon’s Mike Madden.

The American Prospect’s Adam Serwer beseeched: “Please, America, remember what kind of country you are right now.”

Josh Marshall, who writes for the TalkingPointsMemo blog, predicted: “This is going to get very dark” upon the identification of the perpetrator’s name.

“The fact that the primary assailant has an Arabic name and is presumably, though we don’t know this yet, of Muslim extraction, if not a practising Muslim, is going to be the focus of attention,” Marshall wrote.

What Nidal Hasan (allegedly) said about suicide bombers

Internet posting that purports to come from the Muslim Army doctor who killed 13 people at Texas base:

“There was a grenade thrown amongs a group of American soldiers. One of the soldiers, feeling that it was to late for everyone to flee jumped on the grave with the intention of saving his comrades. Indeed he saved them. He inentionally took his life (suicide) for a noble cause i.e. saving the lives of his soldier. To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause. Scholars have paralled this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers. If one suicide bomber can kill 100 enemy soldiers because they were caught off guard that would be considered a strategic victory. Their intention is not to die because of some despair. The same can be said for the Kamikazees in Japan. They died (via crashing their planes into ships) to kill the enemies for the homeland. You can call them crazy i you want but their act was not one of suicide that is despised by Islam. Malik “Kill-Em Ladin” Hasan

Malik Nidal Hasan was the name of the shooter at Ft. Hood today.   Has anyone else noticed the first two names are Kilam (“kill-em“) Ladin backwards?  Was this some sort of veiled message?

Fox just confirmed yesterday that Hasan was a convert to Islam- which means he may have changed and/or perhaps picked his Islamic name.  Yet, Fox interviewed Malik’s brother who had the same last name.  (If he did convert and change his name) I find it hard to believe that Hasan, being a psychiatrist, would not put much thought into its meaning.

Let us also remember that November 5 is also the date of another historical/attempted assassination.

Though I can’t imagine how, I would not be surprised to learn that the date as well as the shooter’s name is significant.
