A few months back, I was able to purchase a Mamiya RB67 from Armatos Pro Video thru Ebay, for a reasonable price. I didn’t intend to purchase the camera, I just wanted to try bidding in Ebay. I placed my bid…fortunate enough…no body else placed their bid in this item. And now I’m a proud owner of this humongous camera.

It took me sometime to take the camera out for a test run. I was lazy at the same time busy with some other stuff (work, freelancing stuff etc.). Anyway here are the test shots. They were scanned from the contact sheet, so I apologize for the quality and the dirt on the images.

First roll of neopan across 100. My very first try…that’s why I was only able to get three. I accidentally exposed some of the frames when I removed the back without the dark slide attached to it.

The second roll of neopan 100. A more successful roll with more decent images I suppose.

And that’s about it. I really love the camera. It’s AWESOME! I really don’t mind the weight (it’s a heavy camera…and I mean heavy), I just love using it. I’ll be shooting more frames with this one. That would be all!

Photos I took for a friend’s album artwork.

The idea for this shoot came to me while, you guessed it, mowing the lawn.  It can actually be a great, meditative experience.  I had sort of come up with a narrative that I wanted to base the shoot around…I’m not quite sure if it tells that story or not.  I am more curious, however, what story they tell for the viewer.  Let me know what you come up with…

Na parapecie Zuzi leżał film. Agfa 24+7, dawno po terminie. Przyniosłem go do pracy i położyłem na gorącym grzejniku. Przeleżawszy trzy tygodnie zdjąłem go i włożyłem do Mamiyi. Strzeliłem parę zdjęć i oddałem do labu. Podgrzewanie nie przyniosło żadnego skutku, a Mamiya pięknie działa. Wszak Piotrek o tym na bank nie myślał.

Ik ben eigenlijk geen fan van zwart wit. Toch besloot ik het er eens op te wagen. Bij elk shot dacht ik “shit in kleur had dat zeker beter geweest”. Nu ik de resultaten bekijk, denk ik er nog steeds zo over . Anyway, het is eens iets anders en ik ben toch wel tevreden. Hier zijn ze dan.

Sinds kort heb ik een Mamiya RB67 Pro S met de 127mm erop. Je kan de camera het beste beschrijven als een “tank”. Even stevig, maar ook even zwaar. Er wordt geschreven dat deze camera het beste voor in de studio gebruikt wordt op statief. Wel, zondag ben ik met de tank richting stadspark gegaan en heb ik een kleuren en een zwart wit rolletje opgeschoten. Alles vanuit de hand en tot hiertoe geen spierklachten. Ik ben zelf zeer blij met de resulaten en hopeloos verliefd op het nieuwe speeltje. Hier 8 van de 10 kleurenfoto’s die getrokken heb. Het zwart wit wil ik zelf eens ontwikkelen één dezer dagen.
