I am convinced that all of you have ever felt under pressure because of deadline. In such condition,

I am convinced that all of you have ever felt under pressure because of deadline. In such condition, you have very limited time to do your job, or you have so many things to do that the time you have is not adequate.

When we were students, our teachers often gave us home works. Actually there was enough time to do the home works without being in a hurry. The teachers usually gave us at least one week to do the home works. However, students are always students. We just put off doing the home works. As a result, we had to do them in the last minutes – probably 30 minutes before the class began. That was like a sheep running away from a wolf, or a thief from a policeman.

The question emerging is whether we still have such bad habits now. If the answer is yes, it means we can not learn from our experiences. It is certainly not easy to get rid of bad habits. A habit is something that we often or usually do. We are used to it. As a result, we have to make effort to change any of our habits. But don’t worry. There’s a will, there’s a way.

Now there is a question remaining. How can we do that? Actually the answer is simple: never put off what you can do today until tomorrow. Or in a shorter sentence: Do it now! Yes, that is the simple answer. Yet the problem is not its simplicity. The problem is whether we can do that in real life. Many simple things can not be implemented in real life because of weak will. So, the will is the key. The answer will remain simple if we have strong will. Do you agree with me?

Perhaps most of us do realize this thing. We realize that we should not put off something that we can do now. In fact, it’s always hard to not putting something off. We always say to ourselves: “I still have much time. So, I can relax now, and I will do it later.” Unfortunately we always say the same thing all the time until the last minutes. Finally we will say to ourselves regretfully: “Now I have only 30 minutes to do all these things. If only I had done these things yesterday. If only I had not put them off.” But regret is always in the end, not in the beginning.

Hence, each of us now has to say to himself if he has something to do: “I have to do it now. I will never put it off. I will not wait until tomorrow. Yes, now or never.”

I want to tell you an advantage you will get when you are not used to putting something off. If you have enough time to do something, you will do it better or even the best. The reason is simple: because you will do it thoroughly, with no hurry. On the other hand, you will lose your quality if you do something in a hurry.

Some of you probably say: “I want to put it off until tomorrow because now I’m in a bad mood. And I won’t make my best when I’m in this bad mood.” Bad mood? Is that a reason to put something off until tomorrow? I suggest that you should not totally agree to “bad mood theory”. Instead, I would like to say that bad mood is only something you feel because you are suffering from laziness. Hence, the best thing you should do when you feel in a bad mood is struggling to get rid of the bad mood. Force yourself to start doing what you have or should do, and I believe that the bad mood will disappear. It’s just like friction force. It’s larger when something is just starting to move. But it will decrease when something is already moving. Likewise, it’s always hard to start doing something. But once you already start, you will find that everything is easier, and you will be full of spirit to do that thing. You even want to keep doing it all the time, and will not want to end it, because you already enjoy it very much.

We are using this space as a means to answer your questions from a recent webinar we hosted on the 10 Ways Fast Companies Accelerate Strategy Execution.
Here is part 3 of our answers to your questions.
Please click here for a recording of the webinar

Question: How do you measure alignment?

This is a tough question to answer without knowing the context. Alignment can be measured in lots of different ways, on macro or micro scales, depending on what you are looking at. If you are talking about organizational alignment, it can be measured with organizational assessments. Regardless of the content or focus of the assessment, alignment can be determined by the extent to which groups answer in the same way. In other words, ask this question: Are there statistical differences between groups in terms of items deemed important to the organization?

Question: Is there any reason you focused on financial and professional services organizations?

EIU sent surveys out to its database of senior leaders, many of whom happen to work in financial and professional services. This is beneficial for us in that several of our client organizations are in these verticals.

Quesion: What could be the impact on the Learning & Development strategy/offering? How should we develop leaders differently to “think and act faster” (according to clarity/unity/agility)?

Well, for starters, there are four main leadership abilities we’ve discovered—and specific behaviors and tactics associated with each one. This blog space is not sufficient for doing them justice. But here is a high level overview of the four abilities:

1) Affirm strategies. This is the first step to take to drive speed, because people need to know where they’re going and need to be motivated to go there. An affirmed strategy is not only correct, it’s also alive—that is, complete, clear, well communicated, and well understood by all stakeholders.

2) Drive Initiatives. This ability involves follow-through. Our research shows that, after affirming the strategy, leaders cannot simply “sponsor” the initiative. Many of the skills that support this leadership ability are project-management skills: unfamiliar territory for many senior leaders, but territory that they need to master.

3) Manage the Climate. Climate is what it feels like to work in a place. Managing climate is a matter of understanding its dimensions and the leadership tactics whose use improves it. If you can change your organization’s climate in positive ways, you will also improve your employees’ motivation and increase speed of execution.

4) Cultivate Experience. Like solar, wind, and water power, experience is everywhere—and it’s rarely captured and put to good use. Many leaders don’t know how to cultivate the experience of their employees and colleagues—how to capture it, make it visible, refine it, and harness it so that it becomes a powerful driver of results.

The days of doing business as we have been doing in the past are gone. We can no longer afford to continue using traditional approaches in managing our companies. Executives or organizations that insist on clinging to outmoded ways of thinking will find themselves standing on the sidelines as new traditions are being established by forward thinking business visionaries. The business leaders of the future are awakening, sensitive to the personal responsibility the public now demands from the business community.

All of us share certain values and beliefs. We value the human spirit and believe that modern society must change in a deep and fundamental way the way it thinks, if we are to have a sustainable future. We also believe that the most effective leverage in achieving such a global transformation is through the business community.

It is doubtful that the business community would take this leadership role out of altruism. However, we believe that if business leaders recognize a need to operate responsibly, and feel that their personal values are in accord with organizational values, they will begin doing business in a new way—establishing new traditions in business communities around the world.

For generations, most people never sought specialized knowledge after completing school. What they learned about business, managing, selling, or their profession was acquired on an accidental hit-or-miss basis.

Now that’s changed. Today there are seminars, workshops, short courses, and conferences where you can learn the latest techniques and knowledge about anything you need to know. These sources of specialized knowledge have three advantages over conventional education. They are taught by experts, not be people whose only qualification is a degree. Second, the subject matter relates directly to your needs. Irrelevant information is avoided. And third, you’ll acquire as much useful information from other attendees as you do from the instructors. Specialized learning meetings attract only sharp people eager to make more money and enjoy greater success.

Most of parents was ignoring at their child’s emotional, therefore in sadness, anger and happiness, that can not be well-managed and have an impact on the formation of emotional mentality. Some parents are not aware her son was angry or sad, and tend to not care, but the child when it needs attention. As a result, the child will grow up to be closed and could not manage his emotions with the stable.

As a result, the child will grow up to be closed and could not manage his emotions with the stable. Education in early childhood or age zero to five years is very important because the period was the golden period of brain formation and personality of children. At that time very important for parents to provide for the establishment of educational and emotional brain cells in children to form his personality.

However, parents tend not to recognize and ignore these days, and some even provide a balanced education does not only form the intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence to ignore. Nowadays, that it’s emotional and spiritual intelligence rather than intelligence alone.

Therefore, many experts urged parents to consider children’s education, for example by including in early childhood institutions. In addition, more parents are also advised to give attention and affection to children, so to be able to form a complete personality.

1. Twitter: Monday is the peak day for re-Tweeting

There are two ways of looking at this – either it is best to Tweet about your event on a Monday when, seemingly, most Twitter users are receptive to the message. Or there is the other school of thought, that being that Tweeting on a Friday (when fewest users are re-Tweeting) is the best day, i.e. when Twitter noise is at a minimum, but users may be less receptive to the message.

Try it out – let me know your results!

2. Event branding: “If you don’t brand your event, someone else will”

Basically, if it isn’t you taking the first step to communicate the appeal of your event, it will be someone else, and they could have a much less favourable view of what you’re doing.

3. Opinion: Ask questions of your potential attendees

Make them a part of the event by inviting them to comment on how you plan it. There are a massive range of tools available for gauging opinion on your ideas for the event. A great example is Google Docs – this lets you create forms which act as questionnaires. Keep it simple – send a few questions to key people that give a sh*t.

4. Find like-minders online: Look for people dedicated to the same cause

What is your hook for the gig? What’s its raison d’etre? Who else is interested in whatever it is that’s different about your event? Find them online.

a. RSS newsfeeds and iGoogle

Look for key words that sum-up what it is you’re trying to do. Set up Google Alerts for these keywords, wire it into an RSS and have it appear as a feed on your iGoogle homepage. This will basically provide an up-to-minute newswire linking you to all relevant content surrounding the theme/hook for your event online (everything going through Google anyhow!). This should not only help to inspire you and provide you with more ideas but, most importantly, help you find the people online who have a similar interest or opinion.

b. TweetDeck

Get a Twitter account, wire it into TweetDeck and have a search column for your keywords. For those people mentioning either you or your themes/keywords, add them on Twitter – get chatting.

c. Guest blogging

Once you’ve found these people, get a feel for what they’re publishing online. This could be potential punters, small-scale promoters or established DJs/promoters. Spend maybe a few weeks with their blogs. Get a feel for what they’re trying to achieve and where they’re coming from. Once you’re confident they are people that are worth building a dialogue with, either ask to write a guest post on their blog, or alternatively email them and ask if they’d like to contribute their opinion on yours (this may be for more experienced events organisers/promoters). The smaller-scale guys will be happy of the content and recognition, the bigger boys will be happy to flout their experience and gain additional coverage.

5. Be ‘altruistic’ with your potential attendees online

The definition of this term from Wikipedia is as follows:

Altruism (pronounced: /ˈæltruːɪzəm/) is unselfish concern for the welfare of others.

In essence, always remember that your event is all about your crowd. Period.

More soon…

Are you an individual who finds it difficult to manage your time at work or at home or at both place

Are you an individual who finds it difficult to manage your time at work or at home or at both places? If you are, you may be looking for information on how you can make better use of your time. You will likely be pleased with all of your options, as there are a number of different steps that you can take. A few successful time management techniques that have worked for others, just like you, are touched on below.

One of the most successful time management techniques is that of goal setting. Goals provide many with an important source of needed motivation, as they give you something to specifically aim for. Whether you set a long-term goal, such as improving the management of your time in general, or a short-term goal, such as showing up for work on time, goals are important. However, make sure that the time management goals you do set for yourself are realistic.

Creating daily to do lists is another one of the many ways that you can go about making better use of your time. In fact, after time has passed, you may not even need to use a daily to do list. For the time being, a to do list can help make sure that you stay focused and on task. It can also help create a new routine for yourself, one where you are better aware of your time and what must be done.

In addition to creating a simple to do list, you are also urged to prioritize. In fact, prioritizing combined with daily to do lists is the best form of time management. Whether your to do list is for the home or work, take a close look at all of the tasks you need to complete. Which tasks are more important? To reduce stress, add those with the most urgency to the top of your to do list.

Another successful time management technique is one that is very easy, but many people have a hard time doing it. This time management technique is just saying no. It is important to remember that there are only a limited number of hours in the day. No matter how much time and effort you put into staying focused and on task, there are still some things that you may not get accomplished. That is why you should never take on more than you reasonably believe that you can handle.

If you do find yourself saying yes to completing an extra project at work or taking on too many responsibilities at home, it is important to remember that you can ask for help. In fact, knowing when to ask for help is an important component of time management. You can ask your friends, children, or romantic partner for help around the house. You may also want to call upon the services of a professional housecleaner. In the workplace, consider outsourcing your work to another employee, if you are able to do so without getting into trouble.

Staying organized is another easy, yet effective and successful time management technique. In fact, did you know that time management and organization go hand in hand? They do. If you are organized, you will spend less time searching for lost or misplaced items or other important work documents. The more organized you are at both home and work, the easier it will be for you to manage your time.

Twitter

What the reason that you started tweeting?

For networking? Because everyone is on twitter?

With the evolution of technology, social media plays an important part in your life. No matter for work (business), entertainment or just to connect with your friends. Social media has become essential in daily life and is a tool used to market yourself.

My reason for tweeting:

Initially, the reason was it would be graded into my course requirement. When I started out, I was clueless about what twitter was used for. I had this concept that tweetples would tweet incessantly about mundane happenings in their life.

This was my thoughts till Stephie Tan -fashion nation blogger (@stephietan), guest lecturer for one of our NCT (New Communication Technologies) lecture shared with us about her experience in social media. Why her? As she is a frequent user of Twitter, established writer of fashion nation which lead to freelance writing on various magazine and she owns her own online shop.

stephie tan (not my image-not our lecture too)

She told us “Everything that is shared on the social media can be tracked upon” so nothing is safe online. So you need to be careful of what you post. Also she shared with us how she gets followers, “the topics that you talk about interests the followers” Therefore you must find your interest, then people would be enticed to follow your tweets.

With her sharing, I felt more inspired about the direction for my tweets and I began to understand more about twitter and the reason for tweeting.

Hence, my reasons for tweeting became:

To connect with friends or family members or people with my same interest

Sharing information with others

Hence the tweetples actually knows information faster than a person who reads the daily news. As information is being retweeted to their followers, it is being spread throughout twitter community.

And how should you go about tweeting? This is the simple way of what I learn:

1. Plan your tweets:

What you want to tweet about and what is your purpose for tweeting. It could be because you wanted to share the information, or you want an opinion about something.

2. Execute your tweets:

Considering what time would be the perfect time to get all your followers to read it and the way you want to phrase your tweets to make it interesting. You should also take into consideration whether you should retweet what you have tweeted (in order for better reach and frequency)

3. Learning from your tweets

It is very important to learn from your tweets in order to improve your tweets. Take notice of what interests your followers. Learn from how others write their tweets, how they manage to spark others’ interest.

4. Optimising your tweets

After learning, you have to measure whether it reaches out to your followers. Or else tweak the way you tweet about things – giving a different angle.

No matter what, you must always dare to try on the social media.

Multilevel Marketing or MLM. Ok, since I had my rant about unscrupulous recruiters in MLMs. I also want to write about the upside of MLM as well, those of us who are not bad apples and a little bit more about it.

There are those of us in MLM that do not seek to take advantage of people’s situations in life such as the unfortunate and often untimely situation people find themselves in when they lose their job. There are those of us who won’t seek to recruit based on people’s greed and laziness. I promise you that if you see ads waxing on about how much big bank you can make right out of the gate, showing pictures of people driving Ferrari cars, flashing big wads of cash, etc, rest assured….. They’re playing the odds because frankly, a lot more people have a greedy and lazy streak and that will bring in more people than will honesty and the thought of actually earning the money. It’s kind of sad when you think about it but it is nevertheless the truth. Of course the lure of easy money and that it all sounds good in theory, makes people want in but in practice, it doesn’t work and they all know it and many will not tell you because they just want your money and you in their downline. I would rather have a team mate if I’m recruiting.

Then what happens is people join up with false expectations and hopes and when those expectations of striking it rich with minimal to no effort fail to materialize…. they quit and cry foul and that the business was a scam. In reality, they fell victim to an unscrupulous recruiter. In any business, there is a time commitment and tasks that need doing just like any other job. Advertising, communicate to people, respond to people, get to know your customers, analyze where your traffic is coming from, track progress, ensure you’re helping your downline, crossline and even at times your upline. It’s a team and there is no “I” in team. Once people get into it via a bad apple recruiter, soon after they realize and ultimately quit. There might even be some tricky Avon ladies out there but that of course doesn’t mean Avon isn’t legit! Unscrupulous recruiters might get more people to enroll up front but they have a MUCH higher attrition rate because they have made false promises and provided misleading information and improper and/or inadequate sales training. It doesn’t do you any good to enroll 50 people when 45 are going to quit within 3 months. To be successful in that way means you have to continue on, recruiting yet more on an ongoing basis to keep up the residual and that’s harder than enrolling 50 quality leads and have 20 or 30 be long timers over a longer period of time by being honest. This is what the good apples do because we tell you the truth.

Anyone who tells you that you’re just “sharing” an opportunity and that “anyone can do it” and “it isn’t sales”, is telling you a flat out lie. It is sales. You have something be it a program or product and they have money. If all goes well, there will be an exchange at some point. That is sales.

Now lets back up a bit and spend some time on inadequate sales training. Here’s a freebie on me. If you are being told to work your “warm market” such as family and friends, etc. That’s really pretty lousy. Tell them once and leave it at that. You also don’t want to “tell everyone you know and keep telling everyone over and over”. It’s okay to let your people in on what you’re doing but if you just keep trying sell them on it over and over, you are effectively being a verbal, real life pop up ad. You remember the commercial don’t you? Where it shows innocent people minding their own business only to have a person/advertisement approach and start “advertising” to them? Do NOT fall for becoming a verbal, real life pop up ad, especially to your friends and family. How would you feel if every time you saw one of your good friends all they tried to do was sell you their “stuff”? I’ve spent a LOT of time on the internet and I will tell you with 100% certainty, I have never and will never click a pop up ad and make a purchase! Sure, you might be able to guilt your family into for a bit or they may do it just to get you to shut up and leave them alone but that’s no way to run a business. If they know and they’re interested, they’ll come to you. You will annoy your friends and family and people will start to avoid you!

Remember, not all MLMs are scams. I’ll use the Avon lady and Tupperware again because they are PERFECT examples. Those are perfectly legitimate businesses. Might be hard to make money at, but they are legit. Many companies utilize MLM. For one, it’s a load of free advertizing for the company. There are numerous benefits for companies that utilize MLM and its outside the scope of this blog but… the benefits are there for anyone who wants to start up a side business or just make some extra money on the side providing they’re doing it right and unfortunately, to many people do it wrong. We’re not all scams and we won’t all tell you lies just to get your money. Some of us are honest, hardworking folks with legitimate companies who just want to earn a living and pay our bills just like you. :-) Like I said, there might even be a few tricky Avon ladies out there trying to “slip ya the lipstick” but that doesn’t mean that Avon itself or all other Avon ladies are bad apples! If you are considering looking for a way to earn some money on the side and are concerned about the legitimacy of any “opportunity”, let me know and I’ll help you find out, even if it isn’t mine!

Good luck and if you have anything to add, please feel free to post a comment! If you’ve been involved in any MLM, post your experiences! If you’re already unhappy in one and want to consider something else, I will help you and I won’t leave you hanging with false hopes!

From time to time or after few years of creating CAD design, you decide do make some cleaning. Worst case scenario the network guy ( you know the one we always blame for our CAD problems or for the network to be too slow) decide to remount the network to place thing in a better logical way or simply to install a new server.

So being sure those files are not important we erase them or move them in another location and with time we lost track of those files. Has time pass again we rediscover those files “Hey those are old project files, don’ need them anymore…..Delete”

This lead to what is commonly known has broken link. Those broken links are hard on any CAD system because they slow down the process of resolving links. ( network guy is not always the source of network problem)

If you feel that one of your project start having hard time being open and you check to make sure all files where found, you probably will not think about face style. How face style could be link to poor CAD performance.

One of those broken links situations are due to face style who lost track of the picture they where associate.

Francesco recently face this problem. Assembly who took usually 5-10 seconds to open is now taking 30 if not 50 seconds and more to open. And at some point it seem that everything was stalling waiting for……… no apparent reasons.

After investigating, problem was trace back to face style broken links.

In order to make Solid Edge community resolve this potential problem Francesco wrote a small program to help trace ”face style broken links”. You can download this program “Face style broken link repair”

How it works:
- Launch the tool
- Select the assembly file you want to examine
- After a while you will see a grid populated in order with: File name, Style name, Texture file, Bump map file
- Broken links are highlighted in RED
- Click the cell with the link you want to change and select the new image file.

It is in a very beta stage now, so any further improvement suggestions are appreciated use the request form at the top right corner.

Nations are built not with bricks and stones but with the capacity to create and apply knowledge. Th

Nations are built not with bricks and stones but with the capacity to create and apply knowledge. The result of knowledge creation and application in manufacturing and management practices is well demonstrated by Japan. Today we are witness to many industrialized economies that are strengthening their manufacturing activities simply by adopting these techniques.

The distinguishing characteristics associated with Japanese manufacturing techniques include an emphasis on designing and redesigning processes to optimize efficiency and a strong commitment to quality.

The manufacturing techniques that Japanese companies practice provide a competitive advantage and outstanding economic performance. The key for success is an understanding of the broad context of manufacturing culture, infrastructure and environment. These sound manufacturing and business techniques created and adopted by leading Japanese manufacturers have turned out to be the secret of their market leadership in many industries.

Following are a few of these concepts, which can help in managing any business set-up in a better way:

Kaizen is one such technique, which in Japanese means ‘improve.’ This is commonly recognized as practices focusing on continuous improvement in manufacturing activities, business activities in general, and even life in general, depending on interpretation and usage. By improving standardized activities and processes, Kaizen helps in eliminating waste.

Another management Japanese technique is the 5-S. It is a technique used to establish and maintain quality environment in an organization. It has five elements: Seiri (sorting out useful and frequently used materials and tools from unwanted and rarely used things); Seiton (keeping things in the right place systematically so that searching or movement time is minimized); Seiso (keeping everything around you clean and in a neat manner); Seiketsu (standardizing the above principles in everyday life) and Shitsuke (inculcating good habits and practicing them continuously). The 5-S practice helps everyone in the organization to live a better life.

Kanban and ‘Just in Time’ are two other practices in inventory management practices that were pioneered by the Japanese automobile manufacturers, such as Toyota. Quality improvement, on the other hand, is the result of lower proportion of component scrap since the components spend less time in the supply chain.

Poka-yoke is a process improvement focused on training of workers for mastering the increasingly complicated tasks to selectively redesign the tasks so they could be more easily and reliably mastered. It involves designing a foolproof process to eliminate the chance of errors.

Jidoka is a practice by means of which an individual worker runs several machines simultaneously. Japan thus designs such machines that eliminate both error and the need for constant supervision.

Muda is another technique that reduces wasteful activity in service processes. It ensures process efficiency and effectiveness.

Mura curiously combines rigidity and flexibility and thus teaches service process improvement.

Reducing Muri means reducing physical strain. In services process improvement, Muri applies to convoluted and unnecessary routings, physical transfer, and distances paper files may have to travel for a process to complete.

Genchi Gembutsu means going to the actual scene (genchi) and confirming the actual scene (gembutsu). Observation of service processes at the point where it is actually delivered may unearth a host of problems such as lack of training, unnecessary steps, or a number of other areas that would benefit from small but significant process improvement ideas.

This is a glimpse of manufacturing techniques that Japan has so intellectually created and so profoundly practiced in its manufacturing systems that even with no natural resources, it has acquired the status of one of the most industrialized nations. Can we learn from Japan?

There are approximately 30,000,000 small businesses in this country representing approximately 70% of the jobs. It is what we do. We are a nation of small business owners and employees working in the small business arena. Big business may get the spotlight, but small business is the heartbeat of this country.

What does this mean and what can we learn from this?

We are born to compete. Small business is were we do it. Unfortunately we tend to do it by ourselves, alone without help, guidance, or support, isolated, committed and focused on our daily tasks.

I therefore offer you these guidelines, what I have learned from other business owners as they figure out what works and what doesn’t work.

Here are some of those ideas that works that I have learned from my clients.

50 ways to run you business more effectively:

1. Get guidance and direction from other men, your own board of directors. You will do better if you do. You cannot do it as well alone.

2. Numbers are the language of business, learn to use them and understand them, enough with the excuses.

3. Flat management is better then pyramidal organization, divest authority, grant responsibility and nurture leadership. Inspect but delegate.

4. Teams work best, far better then individual efforts, create teams, support them and let them succeed.

5. Key indicators are crucial to tracking, monitoring and thus managing your business succesfully. Use them.

6. Systems are critical for success at every level. Create them, write them down, use them…No oral legacies.

7. Training is critical, accept this mandate and never stop training your employees. Create a career path based on training.

8. Have a business plan before you start up a new business or buy an existing business and make certain you have a cash flow proforma. If you have not raised enough capital to launch your business, do not launch. Wait, raise more, change your plan or cease the effort.

9. Incentive based reward systems work very well and increase productivity and success.

10. Quality is king.

11. Be careful not to waste money on ineffective advertising. Test before a full launch.

12. Use a web site and a blog, create relationships. Web 2.0 blogging, video, facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

13. Productivity is the key to profit, monitor it and make certain it is maintained at a very high level. Too much employment is self defeating. Forget the concept of overtime, increase productivity first.

14. Profit over gross revenue.

15. Do not continue in business if you cannot figure out how to earn a profit as well as take home a paycheck both are necessary.

16. Avoid personal guaranties at all costs.

17. Never allow your wife or family to sign anything.

18. Protect your home from business debt, there are many ways but the best is to not be in title on your home, or organize your assets effectively.

19. Make certain you always pay your payroll taxes, use a payroll service to force compliance. Cease operations or make drastic changes if you cannot pay them.

20. Repeat business is incredibly important and very valuable.

21. Word of mouth promotion and marketing is the best form of advertising. References and testimonials are supreme.

22. Salespeople should always be compensated by commission.

23. Manage through action, set examples by doing.

24. Appreciate your employees, thank them for their effort and loyalty, support their mistakes, errors and failed risks, it will pay you back many fold.

25. Quickbooks is most often the answer to effective accounting management systems.

26. Define your market niche and capitalize on it.

27. Ask your employees, customers and vendors how you are doing, take their advice seriously.

28. Leave your ego out of your business decisions.

29. Accept responsibility for your own errors, and reward and recognize the success and achievement of your employees.

30. Successful business is built around high quality employees, find them, keep them, train them, build around them.

31. Take vacations often.

32. Keep your word…always.

33. Be generous.

34. Have a sales and marketing plan, review it often and make changes when necessary.

35. A successful business is successful because the owner knows how to run a successful business, not because of how good the product or service offered is.

36. Enjoy yourself, laugh, do not take yourself too seriously.

37. Give back, pay forward for those that dug the well for you to drink out of.

38. Debt can be dangerous, manage it effectively.

39. Do not allow debt to upend your business or personal life.

40. As soon as you believe your debt will eventually bury you, do a pre-emptive workout.

41. Any debt can be worked out…any!

42. Always pay your payroll taxes but if you fail to, it too can be worked out.

43. If your revenues have declined, downsize your operation immediately. Excess payroll will kill you quickly and everyone will be out of work.

44. Your banker is the opposition when in default, do not listen to his demands or instructions. Get help.

45. Do not invade your IRA or 401k to pay down debt, no matter what your banker insists you do.

46. Do not hesitate to do a workout because of fear of credit blemishes, it can be rehabilitated.

47. Renegotiate everything, leases, vendor pricing, everything, this recession will last a long long time. Make adjustments now.

48. Re-define your business equation, the economy has changed you must change as well.

49. There are no employee issues, train your employees to be as good as you want them to be.

50. Enjoy your business life, you made the decision to be a small business owner, it can and should be very rewarding. Remember entrepreneurs are unemployable, you had best make it work.

This is part of what we have learned from our clients, we expect to learn much more. We thank all our clients for showing us the way to succeed.

root@opensolaris:~# bootadm
bootadm: a command option must be specified
USAGE:
bootadm update-archive [-vn] [-R altroot [-p platform>]]
bootadm list-archive [-R altroot [-p platform>]]
bootadm set-menu [-R altroot] key=value
bootadm list-menu [-R altroot]

Untuk melihat menu booting kita pake command :

root@opensolaris:~# bootadm list-menu
the location for the active GRUB menu is: /rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst
default 0
timeout 30
0 OpenSolaris 2009.06

Nah caranya :

root@opensolaris:~# bootadm set-menu default=(node)

Sekarang merubah waktu booting nya, kita lihat waktu booting di list-menu adalah 30 detik, kalau ingin merubah misalnya menjadi 10 detik ya tinggal seperti ini :

root@opensolaris:~# bootadm set-menu timeout=10
root@opensolaris:~# bootadm list-menu
the location for the active GRUB menu is: /rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst
default 0
timeout 10
0 OpenSolaris 2009.06

Oke selesai sudah, gampang kan

A close examination of a market-driven firm will reveal two particularly important capabilities: market sensing and customer linking. First, the market-sensing capability concerns how well the organization is equipped to continuously sense changes in its markets and to anticipate customer responses to marketing programs. Market-driven firms spot market changes and react well in advance of their compititors. Second, the customer-linking capability comprises the particular skills, abilities, and processes that an organization has developed to create and manage close customer relationships.

Customer-goods firms demonstrate these capabilities in working with powerful retailers, multifunctional teams in both organizations work together by sharing delivery and product movement information and by jointly planning promotional activity and product changing. While evident in manufacturer-reseller relations in the consumer-goods market, strong customer-linking capabilities are crucial in the business market where close buyer-seller relationships prevail.

By: Charles E. McLean November 4, 2009

Approximately 30% of the U.S. adult population has high blood pressure (also called hypertension). Anyone can get it; overweight, diabetes, and old age are factors that increase the likelihood of developing high blood pressure. High blood pressure heightens your possibility of having a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney disease, and other life-threatening illnesses. Remember your heart has to work a lot harder when your blood pressure is high.

High blood pressure is sometimes called the ‘silent killer’ because in most cases it has no noticeable warning signs or symptoms until other serious problems arise. Therefore, many people remain unaware that they have it. However, high blood pressure is easily detectable and can be controlled. You should always have an idea of what your blood pressure is, just as you know your height and weight.

The blood pressure is recorded as two numbers, such as 120/80. The first number stands for Systolic and the second stands for Diastolic. These are Medical terms so the following are interpretations of a blood pressure reading:

Below 120/80 = Healthy blood pressure

Between 120/80 and 140/90 = Early high blood pressure

140/90 and higher = High blood pressure

High blood pressure won’t go away without treatment. Here are some easy tips to help reduce your blood pressure:

•Work with your health care provider to find a treatment plan that’s right for you.

•Eat whole-grain breads, cereals and vegetables.

•Check food labels and choose foods with less than 400 mg of sodium per serving.

•Lose weight or take steps to prevent weight gain.

Take advantage of the tools here at MS Aerospace to create a culture of wellness.

Every Friday there are free and confidential high blood pressure tests at 2:15 for 2nd shift and 2:30 for 1st shift in the Safety Office. We keep the record of your readings to help you monitor your health as an option to you. Please, check for more wellness articles on the MSA wellness board. Approximately 30% of the U.S. adult population has high blood pressure.

High blood pressure is a serious problem for Hispanics. Hispanics get high blood pressure more often. Almost 1 in 4 Hispanic adults have high blood pressure. Most Hispanics do not know that high blood pressure can hurt their kidneys. A recent study showed that less than half (46%) of Hispanics know that high blood pressure can cause kidney failure.
