I guess every baby/infant/toddler goes thru this phase. Manfred was not a food lover ever. It took me 1 month to teach him take solids. Despite he was 6months old, sitting without support well and even started crawling. Yet he just don’t love solids.

And when he turns 18months, I started “training” him to take more solids, regular solids and reduce his milk intake. 6months time to be exact. He started take only 3bottles of formula(7oz) (previously 5-7bottles perday), eat 3meals, 2snacks, and no more night feed.

Nowdays he is very into food. Whenever his meal is served, he will happily bring one of his toy car along, sit on his booster chair and polish every off the plate. Then even when it’s our meal time, he will come in and request to sit together and eat again. So i observe that now I let him eat together with us instead of separate time.

Also whoever that holds food in their hand, Manfred will walk over and say “mum mum”, then request to test the food!! So we just let him taste and test whatever he wants lar.

Last 2 days, he requested to eat my bowl of rice instead of his porridge. So i switch with him. He can eat pretty much all adult foods now. Except meats we have to cut into smaller pieces for him. He loves soup.

Today, I was enjoying my daily cuppa coffee around 11.30am. He saw it and he said:”soup”. I told him it was coffee and we didn’t make any soup today. But he continue to whined and wanted to have soup. I have no choice but to make a bowl of “soup” for him. Guess how I do it?

I mix bovril with hot water lo. LOL. And the best part is, he drank the whole bowl on his own!!!! I also gave him some mash pumpkin to go with the soup. He loved it.

So I guess his weight is definitely growing at a very steady rate looking at the food intake now!! Luckily he no longer request me to carry him so frequent..

Previously I bought some puzzles which I stock up and think I could introduce to Manfred when he is about 2 years old. I did took out some of the puzzles and let him play with it.

Then 1 afternoon I was quite free and decided I want to introduce a new set to him. I have bought 1 from cosway which it has various shapes smiley face puzzles. The puzzles consists of 3, 4, 5, and 6 pieces puzzles. Simple and fun to play with.

When I first brought to Manfred, he was interested, but he couldn’t do it well and he got frustrated when couldn’t solve it. He did ask me to help him by saying :”Mommy, help….”. Then on this particular day I decided to be impatient and I even concluded I introduce puzzles at the wrong stage. But how wrong was I. He repeatedly bring the puzzles out and ask daddy to help… and after few attempt, he gets better at it. After 3days, which is today. He can do the puzzles all by himself!!! Except the Square set which consist of 6 pieces whereby he needs little guidance.

I then remind myself that if he shows interest, he is ready. Mommy Lynn must be patient patient and lots of patient!!!! So meanwhile, it gives me more reason to shop for puzzles!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

This day I decided to dress Jude up as baby tiger! It’s fun for me to watch him crawling around in the costumes. Not only I had fun! Manfred had Fun too! Manfred keep biting Jude’s tail! LOL

See how Manfred kor kor accompany Jude in the baby cot? Manfred initiated to go into the baby cot and play with Jude. I guess i prefer Manfred out of it. Cause reason Jude in it is to ensure his safety. With Manfred in it, it’s like placing a lion next to him. But it’s enjoyable for me cause I just need to be the “supervisor”. At the end see how Manfred “Laugh”. HAHAHA

Weekends in November is really busy one. First we were busy with Manfred’s 2nd birthday celebration. Then this week is Chris’ company annual dinner. My cousin sister’s wedding plus my ex-colleague’s wedding as well.

Back when I was still a wife and yet to take up the job as mom, I was pretty flexible, I could attend weddings back to back, party, potlucks etc etc.. No problem! Now?! Aiseh, I need to plan ahead, pre-charge myself to make sure I can handle all the invitations. Thank goodness this kind of weddings marathon only happen once in a while.

Today wedding lunch is held in Klang, Restaurant V Garden. We leave KL at 11am and manage to reach restaurant before 12.30 after dropping Em off at my mom’s place. First time attending wedding lunch. Didn’t know have to wait till 2something only food were served. I was starving already!!! Luckily Jude fell asleep the moment food was served. I get to eat peacefully, handicapped way cause Jude was sleeping in the ring sling. (Can’t put him in stroller, cause it’s very TRADITIONAL type of receptions) Karaoke session through out the luncheon and ppl even bring their own copy of CD to karaoke!!!!!!! And did I mention the PA was really really really LOUD?????

The food was fantastic though. I enjoyed the food very much. Not sure if it was because I was quite hungry though. During the luncheon, Manfred keep asking us to bring him to the stage, cause he saw kids playing there, as usual, he also want to join in the gang lar. Then when we were leaving, Manfred doesn’t want to leave lor. Luckily no fuss made lar. Sister Pling agreed to take Manfred for the day after lucheon. She and her hubby was going to bring Manfred for swim while Chris and myself go do some Xmas shopping.

We went pyramid. Hoping to get gifts for niece and nephew. I already have in mind what I want to get. I chose pyramid cause it’s nearer to Bkt Rimau and convenient for me to pick up Manfred after shopping trip. BUT, end up there’s no Toys’R us and I didn’t cross anything of my Xmas shopping list. *Pengsan*.

But we did get some other things achieved. Chris manage to cross something off his “window shopping list” LOL.

My colleague wedding is the same day but in the evening, I decided to not attend as it takes up too much of my energy. hahahah feel so old when i say this. So I tumpang my another x colleague pass the ang pau.

Swimming session did not exhaust Manfred out. He only turns in at 10.45pm. But I can tell he is very happy with his day. I can see he enjoyed his time spent with his yiyi(my sister) and yi zhang(sister hubby). He was playing happily when I went pick him up… And “report card” from yiyi is “GOOD”.

This is a backdated post. Mainly due to I was waiting for the copy of photo from Chris’ friend YKhing to pass us the photos. This round we decided to get help from pro instead of having our guest to offer “free” photography cause we would like them to concentrate having good times with their kids. However, still I see more than 7 DSLR!!! hahahah

Manfred’s birthday was on 9Nov, so we make use of weekend and decided to celebrate his birthday on 8Nov09. As he is 2 now and we find we could host a birthday party “in favor” to birthday boy. So instead of hosting the party at home, we have it at an indoor playground. After some “shopping”, we find that KidzZone in Plaza damas suits him the most. Mainly due to the layout it’s easier for us to monitor him through out the play.

IT was very relaxing and enjoyable day for Manfred and myself. It’s a party to please all the childrens!!! I would like to thank all the parents that make their effort in bringing their little ones to celebrate Manfred’s birthday. It was a previous Sunday.

It’s been raining almost everyday since the past 2 weeks.. So many evening both boys and myself have been confined in the house due to the down pour.

I learn this from healthfreakmommy.  It’s very simple, fast, easy and yet delicious meal to cook. I have never once cook in my life before. the idea of cooking turns me off due to the aftermath. So i usually rather eat take out food then cook myself.

With a 2 year old toddler, and 6mths old baby, I know it’s important for me to cultivate their good eating habit, and eat lesser outside food. Home cook food is much healthier, tastier and nutritious. I was fortunate to be brought up with 90% of time eating healthy home cook food by my mum. Being a SAHM I guess I should start learning… Not too late right?

Anyway, thanks to healthfreakmommy. and many other blogger mommy for sharing. They took the hassle and efford to post and share with dummy like me. It makes me realize cooking can be fast, fun. easy, nutritious and delicious at the same time.

Oh.. where has his chubby cheek gone?? Did mommy not feed him well?? guilt guilt guilt.. Kidding lar.. He is still of good size.. Baby fat gone, Handsome “Man”fred borned.

I had a blast cooking for babies!!! hehehe easy peazy!!! and they won’t fuss and complain food not nice.. wakakakakak

I bough apples, pears, sweet potato, potato, and pumpkin. On saturday, I cook and pureed the fruits first. So i made 8 small tubs of apple puree and pear puree.. I like apple texture more, coz pears has more liquid and i guess more difficult to feed… maybe i will mix with cereal and give him, or i try mix with fresh banana before feed.. I gave Jude apple with pears puree mix together coz got left over n i run out of small tubs.. HE LOVES IT!!!!!! and night before bed he POOP!! A BIG ONE!! and super smelly….

yucks, i dun recall manfred’s poop smell that horrible.. Jude’s poop smells “URGH” after he started solid….

Then yesterday I steamed all the pumpkin, potatoes and sweet potatoes. It was scheduled to be done by sunday. But i din have time to do it. So monday is the last draw. I manage to finish it. I pureed all then i decided to make pumpkin pureed, then potatoes and sweet potatoes i mix it together then only keep in small tubs.. i made 7-8 tubs of those, but with bigger portion compare to fruits puree i made earlier.

I also have some leftover potatoes, so i mix it with some butter, salt and pepper, VOila! snack for chris and myself..

My MIL got some curry from the day before, I had some mix with my mash potatoes and yummy yumm yumm.. cooking can be fun when u dun have to clean after that.. hehehe now got EM to help mar..

with Manfred why i din cook baby food myself? Lazy lor, then no maid lor, then manfred also dun like to eat so much. it took me 1 month times to train Manfred eat 2 small spoon ful of cereal.. aiseh then i no “kick” to cook myself, just buy from organic shop.. no hassle cooking and cleaning.

U ask me buy better or cook better? of course sendiri cook better lar. Fresh, good, natural, absolutely no additives!!! i tried and i tell u, it’s really tasty…

So i will definitely be doing more of this…

Manfred, Yan Da Law,  our first born. He turns 2 today. Can’t believe how fast time has passed. He already a big boy now.

Manfred, mommy’s lover boy. Mommy is extremely proud of you. You did a great job behaving and enjoy at your party today. Your friends had great time too. Mommy and daddy can’t ask for more when see you enjoy the party.

Today Manfred you’re allowed to stay awake as late as you wish.. Coz it’s your birthday.. muaks muaks.

For those non mommy that viewing this blog. Sorry for the flooded bb related post lately ya. But keep reading, you never know when this information become useful right?

I bought this Sassy crumb catcher bib lately from Isetan during singapore trip and it’s been chucked in my drawer for future use. It cost SGD10.90. I am not sure if here can get. But so far I never seen any in malaysia market yet.

It has a tray at the bottom part of the bib to catch crumbs or foods, so lesser food drops on floor and lesser cleaning needed. It’s also machine washable and the fact it’s plastic material it save my hassle of having change Manfred after meal, Also it air dried quick so I think 1 or 2 enough liao.

The most important thing is, lately Manfred finally reach the stage of wanting to feed himself and eat on his own, but with certain food, u know how messy it can get, and i know i shouldn’t stop him from eating on his own simply because i am clean freak, hate to clean up and hate messiness.. SO it’s time for the bib to be on every meal time!

Aiseh! dun say i berat sebelah, only buy stuff for Manfred. I also got this Munchkin Fresh food feeder 1month back. My friend CC introduce to me. She say it’s really good. So I went and pick up 1 from Gardens MV. It’s RM25.90 and I did get some discount cause it was sales period.

You can put fresh food inside the netting and just give it to your baby. Then baby can chew on it, no worries of big chunk of food choked him. He enjoys the juice while suckling it, and he gets to ease his itchy gum also! I gave it to Jude this morning with some seedless grape. I put him in the stroller and left him at the front porch. Have my FIL and maid keep an eye on him while i feed Manfred breakfast. Voila! Jude loves it!!!!!!

It has been raining almost everyday lately. And it rains during the very important time on the day, 5-7pm. That time is important to us(Manfred, Jude and I) cause it’s the time that we can get out of the house to breath some fresh air, get ourselves out there on the field and exercise our muscle a little.

I used to be very lazy when I only had Manfred. Days could pass by very fast cause I single handed take care of Manfred. Dealing with the feeding, bathing, washing and chores pretty much takes up my whole day. Therefore I never think off getting myself out for walk in the evening. But it became an essential and “must do” after Manfred approaching 2nd year. Coz he has become more mobile, sleep lesser, need more stimulation, and the best solution is to bring him out to exhaust him out in the evening.

Then Jude came along…. Evening walk even more important cause siblings will want to play with each other during bed time if they’re not worn out…. Then bed time became struggle a little and hence no way to stop the evening walk liao lor. So lately with the raining season make me feel so sien.

Usually Em and my mil will each stroll 1 boy out. Then I either tag along to jog in the field, or I stay home have some quiet ME time. During ME time i either take a relaxing and slightly longer shower, or I pamper myself with face mask treatment, or DIY hair treatment. The 30-45min of break from 2 boys clears off my mind, calm myself and then I can be a better mom..

When I first had Manfred, being the first time Mom, I was very very cautious and want things almost perfect.. I say almost coz i am naturally quite a lazy person.. to be perfect need a lot of hard work le! haha

SO when it was to introduce solid to Manfred, I only let him eat baby food, organic baby food. Contrary to my in law’s opinion, they kept saying that I should let him taste a bit of everything we eat. Aiseh, of course I don’t want lar, First baby wor, I scare if I chin chai bo chai give everything what if??? So I ignore and for the first 6mths he taking solid, he only eat brown rice porridge, organic bb cereal, organic carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato…. Also maybe things I introduce to him very veyr plain no taste, so generally he is not a “food fan”. He still very much hooked on his formula milk and he is as thrilled if he is given only milk whole day.. up to even when he is 18mths old.

So then comparison comes in and I was said to be the “blamed” for Manfred not taking much solids at the age of 18months. Also Manfred is still having night feed despite he is approaching 2year old. So again it make me guilty as in maybe he is not eating enough so he feels hungry at night. However with persistency, some fiery look, fiery tone, stringent rules etc, today I can proudly say that Manfred is taking solids very well. at least it’s of the amount that I am very happy and delighted with. Also I successfully reduce his formula (ENfagrow A+) into from 7bottles (6.5oz) a day to consistently 5 bottles (6.5oz) a day and today mark the target of 3 bottles only (1st time in his first 23mths of life) Basically he had 1 the moment he woke up, 1 at 11.30am (before his lunch) and 1 before bed time.

Also I am trying to not give him the bottle of midnight feed. So past night he either doesn’t wake at all, or sometimes he requested I ignore and told him I am not making a bottle and ask him go back to sleep. I even threatened to throw him out the room if he persist his crying and yelling… so bad of a mom to do so huh? So I am keeping my finger cross on this, hope it will be smooth sailing for at least a week.. then a month then…

At the same time he sits quietly and nicely on table with us whenever we eat. He snack on everything we eat, he takes his morning bowl of oat, He had his lunch pan mee, he snack on pisang goreng, biscuits, he had some fish with rice during dinner, then home at 8pm he finishes his bowl of porridge my mil cooked too… And whole day he din ask for nen nen except before nap time and before bed time.

Today mark a very fulfilling milestone for both of us. As a mommy, I get upset when I feel he doesn’t eat enough, I feel inadequate if I fail to coax him into finish his bowl of meal and etc.. but again I know kids know best how much they should take, with the reduced bottles he takes, the night feed he skipped, and seeing a contented toddler for the whole day, I now can be assured that my little Manfred is well fed, healthy and thrilled…

Today is saturday. Usually my saturday are spent going to mall, Eat out, shop for groceries, eat out, shop again, window shop till late evening, then eat then go home. Yes pretty much whole day out. Coz weekdays for a SAHM like me practically confined till sien already. so must drag all our a** out of the house.

Today we scheduled to visit a charity Fund raising carnival in Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club. Bring Em to the dentist, she been complaining of tooth ache for few days. After the dentist visit, we head to Bukit Jalil. There are lots and lots of ppl, traffic was heavy, it was drizzling.. Then we couldn’t find a parking lot that is very very near to the carnival. then thinking of carrying a 17kg toddler who never willing to walk on his own and walk a mile to the carnival, in the end I said I dun wan go! hahahahahah someone has to call for IT! Then Chris agreed immediately and off we go for seafood pan mee in OUG.

This particular weekend of mine is filled with lots of happy, surprises, proud feelings… First we are out only with Manfred, leaving Jude with my in law. Em stay home to help out too. At breakfast, we had an extra bowl for Manfred to share our pan mee. For the first time, he gets the idea that the bowl belongs to him, the moment our mee was served, he grab the bowl and start asking for “mum mum”. And he eats it on his own, with very little help and supervision from Chris and I. He even eaten some Fried kuey teow even though it’s spicy..

Then we head to our rented shop to do some basic cleaning. On our way there, Manfred fall asleep. We stopped by hardware shop to pick up some item. Then we started washing and scrubbing at 2.45pm. It took us 2 hours to finish. It was very enjoyable cause Manfred was being a big helper. He help hold the hose while filling the pail, he fetches empty pails between Chris and I. He understand it when we told him which pail to fill water with. He can be the messenger between the two of us and etc…..

Today Manfred talks a lot.. really a lot. surprise us how much word he already knew.. He started telling us things like “black merz”, “red toyota” “suzuki” “bitchy ( he means mitsubishi)” and many many more.. He use to say “barr” when he sees Barney. Today he told me “Barney sing” while watching Barney Show. He say “kor kor dance” when watching playhouse disney…Then before bed time he took his bedtime story book to Chris and say “read book”. On the front page he told us he saw pirate. In the pages he recognize lots of names of animal, things and etc. He has know at least 7-8 shapes, number 1-10, 5-6colours, he knows about sound like when u ask him what does cow sound like, what does an ambulance sound like many he could tell. I am not sure how much a toddler should know by his age now coz he is our first born. But I am definitely delighted to see him learnt so much and he is almost like he is at his “peak” learning stage..

I could go on and on bout the things he learnt lately coz i rarely blog bout it here. But the very delighting one happened on our bed. family of four sitting on bed, daddy reading bed time story, although Jude is a tiny little infant, he get excited by the colourful book too and decided he want to put his hand on the pages as well. Manfred immediately pointed out and say :” didi no touch! Naughty”.. coz Jude once wrinkled the pages and i said he naughty. hahahah. Then Jude got his hand on Manfred’s hair and the bossy kor kor again turn to him and say “No pull hair..” wakakkakaakakakaka that really sounds funny to me..

There goes my day…. a tiny happy moments my little boys brought me definitely brighten up my day… Taken the stress of caring for 2 kids off me, being a SAHM definitely is the best thing I enjoyed the most.

When Manfred was a year old, some ppl start asking me, has he started talking yet? I kept receiving this question many many times. Especially Manfred’s size always look bigger than his actual age.. PPl start to wonder and worry why hasn’t he started talking yet.. He actually can say words when he is about 13-14mths old.. but it’s always 1 syllabus only.. To admit it I also hoping that he could start to talk also…

Then when Jude was born, Manfred was around 18mths plus.. He slowly start to talk more.. slowly he says words in 2 syllabus, sometimes 3syllabus… then he like learn to talk overnight.. at 21mths old.. He suddenly like to talk very much.. Then today he is almost 24mths old.. He copied everything his sensei said in class… it’s kinda funny when he do that..

The more we teach him what to say, the more he pick up talking and I am amazed at how many things he could say and how he could hold a short conversation with me..

Yesterday when I was driving him to Shichida class, it was a rainy day. during the journey, i told him we were gonna collect shoe for daddy in 1utama, then we will go to meet his friends(shichida classmate).. Then it was raining and we were “chit chatting” then suddenly Manfred started singing :”Rain rain go away, come again another day”.. I was over the moon when I heard that! Although he doesn’t pronounce it exact way i do.. but he can sing with the very right tune, and it was very clear i could recognize tat he is singing that song.. it’s been raining almost everyday lately, so every evening i will sing this song.. so i guess he did pick up the meaning of the song…

He will also tell me what song to sing. If i sing the wrong song, he is say “NO!” until i sing the song he requested. When I bring him out and leaving Jude home, I will ask him, Where’s Jude? he will answer me ” Jude at home..” or “Jude ah kong house”. If i ask where is daddy, or ah yee, or gu gu, he will say “daddy go work, ah yee go work, gu gu go school etc etc…

It’s really cute to hear him talk… And he certainly enjoy talking more and more when he finds that We understand what he wants and what he says.. He find that we get it so he want to express more… Also he cry lesser for the reason that we dun get what he wants until he gets frustrated..

I realize toddler learns really really fast. Almost 1 attempt they pick up the thing u teach him. I am proud of him. I certainly would love to teach him more and more things everyday.. At the same time.. as he is approaching 2 year old.. I suddenly feel like crying this afternoon.. coz i realize he is growing so fast… soon he will no longer be my little baby boy… nowdays I hardly could hold him long enough in my arm to cuddle him for long long time.. coz he is always running around, bz with his toys… climbing up and down… even when he wants to sleep, He wants to lie down on his own… he request me to put him down when I carry and rock him…. (but luckily i dun have to rock him to sleep anymore..17kg is a big load…..)

He has grown so much.. he has learnt so much… I love every moment I had with him.. every moment we spent learning together.. I do misses those day when he was tiny infant… he was such a lovely babies… laid back… calm…but i do look forward seeing his milestone….

For those who “adores” Manfred, should know how much “cars” mean to him.. HE is practically a true car fanatic!! His eyes stop blinking the moment he sees one and he is so into it that he could recites quite a number of car logos.. We are currently working on more…. it’s fun to learn with the kids.

Well, we were shopping the Curve one of the weekend. We were shopping for Manfred’s upcoming birthday. We were looking for goodies, food, and clothing for the birthday boy.

We came across a small booth on the upper level, they have around 10-12units of vehicles like motorbike, car, truck, for rental… it’s like kiddy rides but all vehicles.. they charge around RM5 for 10min ride.. something like this.. i can’t recall. For sure Manfred jump right on one of them and start riding.. Then mommy fang have to quickly go get ticket before the lady would chase Manfred out of the vehicle.. hahahah sounds like mommy spoilt little Manfred coz he din even ask my permission? No lar.. I promise to let him ride earlier coz I ask him get of a kiddy ride earlier so i could go in one of the shop to window shop…

He was having great time.. and It’s his very own first DRIVING EXPERIENCE!! wasei!! nowdays kids really “hang fuk”.. not only they get to steer daddy’s wheel when daddy back from work, now they get actual “car look a like” kiddy ride!!! He wasn’t able to control at first, then after some coaching from Chris and myself, He at last get an idea of when to turn left when to turn right and when to go straight.. After we back from Curve, He keeps saying “Turn left, Turn right, straight…” it’s really CUTE.

Back during Manfred’s first birthday, my FIL bought him a electrical Motorbike.. He didn’t know how to ride… for the whole year.. Then after the driving experience, he went home and now he can ride the motorcycle all by himself!!! and he is always very proud when he is on the motorbike.. BEH Tahan…

Busy Farm that Manfred can learn bout Farm, Counting, and it has 8 animals with Velcro for him to stick in onto pages.. Sounds fun to me..



This is the sports shoe i been wanting to get.. I wan to go back to brisk walk again, and then gradually back to my jogging regime.. Sagging Butt need SOS rescue d… SGD89.50.. If i failed to jog 3times weekly, I will get nagging from Chris definitely…

Before I went to Singapore, I went do little shopping in Toy’ R us in Plaza Damas. I got few sets of puzzles for Manfred.. These are the ones.. I only open up 1 set.. will gradually introduce more to him..

Shapes Puzzle.. like too simple for him.. coz he knows all the shapes here already.. but can hand down to Jude..



The Farm Puzzle.. Teaches him more animals…. I also got a vehicles Puzzle.. he is already playing it for weeks.. din get a photo of it……

Today is Wednesday already. I am departing to Singapore on Friday. Today will be the day busy with packing and preparing for the trip.. I always worried i might forget something for the trip… Just hope it won’t be something too important.. Chris told me to pack lesser clothes, then we can buy from there.. hahhahah So i suppose we can all come back wearing singapore Zoo t-shirt..
Yes, we planning to bring Manfred to zoo. His first Zoosperience…. dunno how he will react when he sees lion.. CRIES perhaps?

When I was pregnant with Manfred, I have vision in my mind I would want to bf him fully. However, I took things for grant and thought bf comes naturally and it’s not something we have to be prepared and learn… so there goes my plan of bfeeding Manfred.. Went down the drain lo…

Then Jude come a long, I vowed to prepare myself as much as I can, get as much help as I can.. So things still little bumpy. But at least I made it. He is 5mths old now, still fully on breast milk. I even have some surplus for Manfred.

Lately AM gave birth to beautiful baby girl.. She is one of the greatest mum i have ever seen. Knew her since secondary school. She is the last person I would imagine make so much sacrifises for her little bundle of joy. I seen her effort in trying to bf her baby. I feel baby is blessed and I totally feel she is doing the right thing. Bf is not something that is selfless.. it could be selfish in someway, cause not only baby gets lots of benefit, but mummy gain a lot too… which is why i support bf fully!!!

Husband out there, I hope all of them could be as supportive as they can be.. be sensitive to newly promoted mommy.. especially those bf.. cause it’s exhausting, but with support from family, friends and hubby, mommy could GO a little mile further…..
