On the laughable (?) assumption that some men would rather lose their wife than their hair, I went to Fanny Serrano’s luncheon at which he would update the press on how he grew back his hair. For starters, he pulled his own hair to show how he’s not wearing a “wiglet,” a toupee or a hair extension. Of course, the 65-year-old Fanny keeps no wife who could be a source of the stress that experts and nonexperts claim is one of the leading causes of hair loss.

There’s no need to tell Comelec that the main structure of a democratic government is anchored on popular election – the right of the people to choose their leaders from the lowest to the highest officials of the nation. Elective officials have a fixed term of three years for House members and local officials and six years for 24 senators. The excuse that Comelec is too busy to prepare for the barangay elections in October, 2013, is plain sidestepping of a constitutional program and responsibility of all national/local officials.
