I got home after a fun day of hanging out and the first thing I do is patch up my maple. I have to see the old maps in which I trained on when I first started out in .08 or something.

Right when maple loaded up, I noticed the log in screen. If only I didn’t use the patcher or if they allowed old style log-in T.T

This is after they have added the Jump Down feature so I was gone for awhile already. The quest line says that this is around 3rd anniversary. Nonetheless, this brought up memories from when I first started out.

I remember this area. Walking through this area was always hard as a beginner. You have no movement skills and anything that moved was deadly to you.

When I didn’t make magicians and I needed to level fast, I would stay here and grind til level 10

I don’t know why Night Lord is just chillin’ outside the crib. Kind of awkward just hanging there outside and no one seems to care.

This is a rather interesting patch. So apparently, we’re getting a taste of the old Maple? For me, this is pretty awesome considering that I’ve played Maple for a good 6 years, it’s always fun to feel what it felt like as a Mapler two to three years ago. So let’s get to what the update notes are!

1. Back to the Old Maple // June 1 – June 26

• Talk to Cassandra about a crack in the Dimensional Mirror, then use the Dimensional Mirror (found in most towns) to travel back to a past version of Maple World from before Big Bang.
• You’ll be able to visit old versions of Maple Island, Lith Harbor, Henesys, Ellinia, Perion, Kerning City, and Sleepywood.
• Numerous old quests will be available.
• Completing each quest in the past areas will earn you one Old Maple Coin.
• Talk to NPC Inkwell in the Old Maple areas to trade in Old Maple Coins for a variety of old Maple items.
• Inkwell is in Henesys, Ellinia, Perion, Kerning City, and Sleepywood.
• Items you can purchase from Inkwell include:

2. Legends Character Creation // June 1 – June 14

• For a limited time, you can make as many Legends characters (Cannoneer, Mercedes, Demon Slayer) as you want, as long as you have open character slots.

3. Bounty Hunter Event // June 6 – June 26

• Wanted Posters will be added to most towns.
• Accept the Bounty Hunter quests from a Wanted Poster.
• Depending on the week, you will be required to hunt a Red Mask, a Zombuddy, or a Bully.
• Round 1: Red Mask, June 6 – June 12
• Round 2: Zombuddy, June 13 – June 19
• Round 3: Bully, June 20 – June 26
• Collect a Bounty Mark from the drops of the appropriate target and bring it back to Cassandra.
• These quests are repeatable.
• Quest rewards include experience, mesos, and one of the following five items:
  • Scroll for Gloves for Magic Attack 60%: Magic ATT +1, INT +1, Success Rate: 60%.
  • Clean Slate Scroll 10%: Restore 1 available upgrade lost to failed scrolls. Untradeable. Cannot be used on Cash items. Success Rate: 10%.
  • Swiss Cheese: +220 Magic ATT for 2 minutes.
  • Chocolate Cream Cupcake: Restores 300 HP/MP, +30 ACC/Speed/Jump for 3 minutes. Untradeable.
  • Melting Cheese: Restores 4000 HP.
• At the end of the each week, the top 20 players who have slain the most wanted criminals out of all the worlds will receive the exclusive Maple Bounty Hunter medal and Maple Point prizes.

4. Tracking the Outlaw // June 1 – June 26

• Accept this quest from the Wanted Poster located in most towns.
• Collect 50 Wanted Criminal Clues from monster drops and turn them in to Cassandra to receive experience, mesos and special equipment:
  • Bounty Hunter Belt: Req Lv: 30, STR/DEX/INT/LUK +3, Weapon/Magic DEF +20, grants additional +2 to STR/DEX/INT/LUK and +5 to Jump to the upcoming GMS exclusive character. A Sharing Tag is required to move it within the account.
  • Bounty Hunter Badge: Req Lv: 50, STR/DEX/INT/LUK +5, Max HP/MP +200, ACC/AVOID +10, Speed +5, grants additional +5 to STR/DEX/INT/LUK and +3 to Weapon/Magic ATT to the upcoming GMS exclusive character. A Sharing Tag is required to move it within the account.

5. Maple Trading System Shutdown

• The MTS will be shutting down for the foreseeable future.
• You will be unable to post on the MTS following the update, and all items you have posted will be returned to you.
• Please retrieve the items in your Transfer Inventory before the MTS is completely closed.

Yup, that’s all! I think I’ll be spending quite a bit of time doing the old quests because I totally want to get my hands on some of those old items! Totally neat~ n_n I can’t believe they would even offer up some of that old stuff. Old Maple Bandanas?  Even though I predict they’d go WAY down in price with this patch, I can’t wait to get one!

I made quite a few visual changes to it. Although the previous look it had was quite pleasant and simple, I wanted to take a risk and give it something different, so enjoy it, as I hope it is still conveniant and easy to use! This is a new beginning of much to come. I am working currently on my YouTube channel, and a decoden project soon to come on there and on this blog. Additionally, I will be reviewing some things on Maple, like I always have, only if I see that it needs to be reviewed. It takes too much time and energy to literally review everything that is updated! (Mainly because not everything updated on Maple is a good thing…  c; )

This particular run, Empress was really aggressive. She healed before we even got her down to half health. But we were still able to finish our usual run of clearing the knights.

Our other main attacker got disconnected because he isn’t on his usual internet. We still finished though, just not as efficient as we would like since we were down one max hitter and crasher.

After this run though, I started to collect stuff for myself so that my range can finally improve and be of more help to the group. My first piece.

Unless someone needs it, I will be using this once I make my cape.

Doesn’t going on boss runs with baddies just irritate you?

So we decide to go on a CZAK to help a guildie get his CZHelm. But since I was not the one hosting, baddies were on the run and the looting process is all sorts of fucked up.

First he is all snooty about his damage saying he is as good as PHARMninja.  I’m alright with you being proud of your damage but putting down others is not okay.

The baddie looted the helmet intended for my friend. Then proceeds to push the blame of himself saying that no order was set. I already stated at the beginning we are doing the run for my friend but I guess he doesn’t care since I wasn’t leading the run.

He was passed leader afterwards.

I will not go on runs led by baddies anymore or if there are baddies in the party because it is just too frustrating when you have to do things AGAIN just because someone messed up the first run.

He’s been bugging me about making his belt all night but I was preoccupied with other stuff.

I bet a lot of people had either seen or heard of that game before. So many people asked me what I like to do, I simply just tell them I maple.

Q: Why do I maple?

A:Well, it’s not just an online game, it’s a place where I can hang out with my friends, and chat with them.

Q: What do you do in the game?

A: I mostly party quests, boss, and train with my friends.

Q: Aren’t there hackers on maple?

A: Yes, but I don’t care, causes it’s just a game.

Many of my real life friends don’t play maple, or never had. So they always ask me, Why do you even play that game?? @_@” Like I said, it’s not just an online game. In this game I meet a lot of people from other parts of the world, its a good way to connect with everyone. There are the one that just stupid, but what can I do? Nothing, but to ignore their stupidity, and let it go, and there are the ones who I want to be friends with, forever. At times, I think they are even better friends than my real life friends.

So, recently, just a few days ago, I got hacked/keylogged on my computer. I lost both of my maple accounts. I don’t understand how I would get keylogged, but it’s not nice of being keylogged. While the keylogger got  my accounts, he changed both of the password and the email on both of the accounts, but it’s okay, because I can always make a new account. Something more creepy is that he added me on Skpye when I notice I got hacked on my accounts. Then of course, I added him to see what he had to say….

The next day after I came from watching the movie The Avengers [yes, it was a fantastic movie] I got on Skpye like I usually would with my friends. Right after when they called me on Skype, my friend told me that someone was on my maple account, but sadly I wasn’t there to see what was happening to my computer because I was having my dinner. After finishing my dinner, I came back on computer, and I was no longer on the call with my friends. okay, let me tell them to call me again..[incase you dont't know, I was skyping with my computer but I was on the call with my iPad] Then I heard my phone ringing, it was from one of my maple friend, he told me about how the hacker was on my maple account and he was typing word from word about what they were saying on the Skype call while I was gone. Creepy? Yes, Very much!!!

The next day of school, I talked to my teacher about the problems I was having. She suggested me to call the cops. Getting hacked like that, I feel so insecure, the hacker might have had done something way beyond what I said up there.

The thing is I had to reformat my computer to get rid of the virus or the hack…Something I learned…

Whoever that hacked my accounts and my computer had no life, and he just had nothing else better to do but to hack someone’s accounts. Well guess what? Have my accounts, because I have something better to do in life!

Yup that’s right, the month of May is the month that GMS will hold its LUCKY 7th MAPLEVERSARY! With no surprise will I expect this one to be something actually good because of the whole lucky theme of ‘seven’. Of course, many of the core concepts of the Mapleversary tradition will derive from KMS, but let’s not forget the Cake & Pie events!

10. Help Rescue the Miwok Boys!

Dates: 4/25 – 5/9
Eligible Players: Players who are level 10 or above
Summary:

• Defeat the treacherous jungle monsters and help the Miwok boys escape their cage.
• Accept the invitation sent every 5th and 35th minute of the hour to go to Snakerot Jungle.
• Rescue more Miwok boys to receive more lucrative rewards.

Reward:
The more times you join the event, the better your rewards!

You’ll also get a reward based on the number of Miwok boys you rescue!

11. Spring into Spirit!

Dates: 4/25 – 5/9
Eligible Players: Players who are level 13 or above
Summary: Log in and accept NPC Cassandra’s quest to receive one Pendant of the Spirit (1 day).
Reward:

• Pendant of the Spirit: Boost EXP more the longer you wear it.
  • 1 hour: EXP +10%
  • 2 hours: EXP +20%
  • 3 hours: EXP +30%

That’s cute and all, but honestly, I’m going to take your time to rant for a little. I am honestly sick and tired of how players on MapleStory (even KMS players, and notice I’m not using ‘Nexon’ to complain) can’t savor certain items without them having to go away after 1-7 damn days. Really? What the hell are you going to lose if you just let us HAVE the freaking item. You can even keep it at untradeable; a lot of us would like to spend more time on MapleStory, and by letting us enjoy more, you’re doing us LESS of a favor by hoarding items by making them expireable. Those face accessories we get at events and other nick nacks are extremely cute, why take them away? I’m almost certain this correlates as a way to get us to buy more NX if we want facial accessories and the other neat things for our characters we have access to during EVENTS and that expire. Same goes for cash items..I’m not sure how it is in KMS, but GMS players only get the opportunity for permanent decorative items the first TWO WEEKS they are out. I remember how one summer (2010 I believe), GMS had this period of time where you can buy an item for double the NX but you can keep it permanently…now see, in the long run, that is so much worth it. I think that with the rising demand for Cubes, Scissors of Karma, Gachapon Tickets, Alien Cubes, and other crap, override in value to the the money made through NX from decorative items probably isn’t even that significant seeing that even I know many individuals that spend up to 60 dollars alone in cubes, Gachapon Tickets, etc. Note, that in comparison to MapleStory and based upon my own experiences, I played a similar and rather cute MMO known as LaTale. See, their decorative items are PERMANENT for the most part, and other items like pets, gamble-items, and more are expiring items yet they’re running just fine. However, I feel that I am being redundant in a different perspective because LaTale’s population IS smaller and their servers may differ a lot more from MapleStory’s and the cost of running it, but I’m really not sure quite honestly. Of course whatever I’m saying is obviously not going to make a difference and yeah it’s evident to say that this arguement has been brought up before, but I don’t care — I’m merely just letting out my thoughts with all honesty because I can. I still like Maple, but there will always be something not everyone is happy with. I’m fully aware of how snarly I’m being right now; and if I have to adjust my obnoxiousness, I will do so. If I have to get something out there, by all means I will do it, and so I have.

ANYWAY, moving on…

There were a couple of problems upon the new patch in regards to saved SP not being available on rebalanced characters and problems with progression in the new quest-line for the Lion King’s Castle.  Here’s the official notice from the Maple Staff:

Dear Maplers,

Yesterday, we found that many rebalanced characters no longer had access to the amount of Skills Points they had before the v.109 update. Soon after the issue was reported, a fix was applied through an unscheduled maintenance.

While this fix worked for some players, others are still experiencing the issue. We will be investigating the cause of this issue throughout the weekend and will provide an update early next week. Please note that the issue may be resolved for some characters by completing the Awakening quest for your class and using the SP Reset Scroll obtained from it. The Awakening quest for your class can be accessed through the event notifier (star icon) on the left side of your game window.

We are also working on resolving the issues with the Lion King’s Castle quests, which prevent some characters from progressing. We will provide an update on this issue as well early next week.

Summer is almost here, and we have so much in store for new and long-time MapleStory fans. Early May brings our Seventh Anniversary celebration. We’ll be providing details soon, but we can say that this is one anniversary party you won’t want to miss. Later in the same month will be a special treat for players who are long-time fans. We’ll have more information on this soon.

As we move into June, we’ll be ramping up towards our big summer content release. Not just one but two new characters will soon be joining the MapleStory cast. While you may have heard about the Phantom hero if you follow the news of Korean MapleStory, we’re also preparing a brand new hero that will be exclusive to Global MapleStory (what the FU- ..). I’ll be bringing you more news on our big summer updates in the near future.

Um, YAY?! So not only are we getting the Justice update this summer BUT we are also getting a hero exclusive to GMS? I hope it’s not that Eric class that I am almost sure was an April Fools prank. Wow..neat, I am really hoping it’s something worthwhile and I guess they will bring us more news in the summer? Honestly, I really like the Justice update more than most of the updates we’ve BEEN getting. Vaguely, the revamp pirates and thieves are getting is just amazing and Phantom is a really fun looking class and thankfully it’s power is not overexaggerated on default. But that exclusive hero…hmm. I hightly doubt it’s that missing ‘L’ pirate hero in M-ercedes A-ran P-hantom L-??? E-van because it’s going to be exclusive to GMS, and I’m pretty sure KMS would get something like that before us, by a long shot. Additionally, I wouldn’t be surprised if the exclusive hero we get is going to be dumped into KMS..or any other version, really. But I am trying to be optimistic! Haha~

Yeah, I didn’t see it coming either. Although I am a tad bit late on this update, a recent live stream on Twitch.TV session hosted by the staff of GMS, especially Hime who had confirmed this third and LAST part of the Alliance series will come our way THIS week. I personally predict it’s either tomorrow (April 11th) or Thursday, April 12th. Who knows though, it’s this week based on what Hime has told us!

Moving onward with what this update is coming with, here is what has been confirmed on the GMS site:

• Explorers and Cygnus Knights have been enhanced with new powers: Warriors, Magicians, and Bowmen will be the first of the Explorers to enjoy their new strength, and a new high-level quest chain awaits the Cygnus Knights.
• Ultimate Explorers have become stronger than ever with increased max health points, new exclusive skills, and an exclusive chain quest.
• Nett’s Pyramid is renewed once again with rebalances to requirements and the monsters inside. Defend against waves of mummies, and get your hands on exclusive, new riches that will only be available for a limited time!
• Lion King’s Castle, Maple World’s favorite hunting ground, gains a new overarching storyline and a new boss to defeat.
• Events galore! Rescue the Miwoks from savage monsters. Celebrate the coming of spring by helping research flowers to receive great buffs. Receive a special pendant to increase the EXP you gain.

Other than the Alliance Eternal update, from April 4th to April 18th, Royal Hair Coupons and Royal Eye Coupons have returned with a new stylish twist! I personally like this mini update.

Anyway, we Maplers all-time favorite training place, the Golden Temple has returned!

I trained my Dragon Knight here until level 107, since it has level 20 – level 120 monsters. Wait, what? Level 120 monsters? But the highest leveled monster is Strong Stone Goblin at level 66, what do you mean level 120 monsters? No. Apparently, there is an other side of Golden Temple that is hidden. The other side of the Golden Temple provides leveling from level 70 – level 120. The portal is at a place which people seldom go to.

See that? And if you know Golden Temple well enough, you’ll see that it is right near to the entrance to Ravana. Here’s the portal of the other side.

And also, the mini-maps.

It’s totally the other way around!

And keep in mind, the higher the level of monsters are in the original side, the lower their level in the other side.

I was actually level 70 at first, then did LPQ a few times. Next day, the event started
Totally rushed to level 90 on that day, then level 100 on the next day. I had around at most 9x EXP going! The 3x EXP event, plus the 2x EXP coupon they gave, and lastly my own 1.5x EXP buff, total of 9x EXP! Wow!

Trained at Scorpions and Sand Rats until level 80, got around 4,000 – 6,000 EXP per monster there! Reached level 80 in no time at all, really! Moved on to Roids and Neo Huroids. Around 7,000 – 8,000 EXP per monster there, awesome! Reached level 90 there.

The next day, went to NLC. As I said before, there are aliens at NLC that give 3,000 EXP each time you kill them! So with my 9x EXP, I went there and leveled up like crazy until level 100, with 27,000 EXP per monster. Oh my gosh…

I hope there’ll be another event like this soon, so that I can rush to level 120. XD

Sorry for not blogging in a while, BUT I seriously felt the need to put this out there.

Now, I am still convinced and will be under the assumption that this was an April Fools joke but apparently there will be an ‘Age of Eric’ update on KMS? Gah, I’m really confused and the fact that GMS would post a video like this before any kind of update from KMS makes it seem extra scandalous. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is fake. I love the idea, but…yeah. The video was posted a day before April Fools..and they are quiet humorous in the video. Yikes, I wish I could know!

So, I got a light bulb. Turns out it was Dances with Balrog. He tells me to go to El Nath and find the 3rd job instructor for Warriors, Tylus.

So, got to Orbis with my wooden airplane, jumped down Orbis Tower, and reached El Nath. Headed to Chief Residence which is located at the right-side of town to find Tylus. So, I went inside and accepted his quest. His quest was, asking me to go to the Holy Stone and defeat someone. Hmm…

So I went to the Holy Stone which is just at the dangerous parts of El Nath. Talked to it, and it brought me somewhere. I just kept walking to the left and entered the portal that was there.
Inside the portal, I found someone pacing around there. It was… Dances with Balrog!?

Is Dances with Balrog that someone I’m supposed to defeat? Apparently, yes. So, got my buffs ready, went down and brought him down with just Power Strike. Picked up the Black Charm he dropped, and returned to Tylus.

Tylus said that Dances with Balrog was just a copy made by the stones there. Whatever, I don’t give a damn, just advance me. After going through his dialogue, pressed accept, and advanced, yeah! I got me a new skill build.

So… Next goal, level 120? Nah. I’m just gonna go with level 90

One thing i have learnt over the years just in general but can be applied to maplestory is the fact that nothing is ever a concrete column a or column b and if you haven’t guess what I’m going to be talking about yet – its the can one call themselves legit in this day and age, Its a subject that when is discussed with a few certain friends of mine can get quite heated so lets break it down, remembering that nothing is ever really concrete.

So if we look at the current state of maplestory, we can safely say that 95% of any of the GM Scrolls you use are duped – that 100% of any protection scrolls are duped and EE/AEE you have a 80% chance of getting a duped one with this in mind does using these scrolls make you illegitimate player? most would say yes when out in the public but then, what if the person buying them used mesos he gained in a legit way from boss drops or selling items. but then how is one to know that the mesos they have come from a legit source I.E. botted mesos it raises an interesting question how can a mapler play maplestory and stay legit in the strictest sense of the word? the logical answer is to assume that no one is a legitimate player.

But that said lets take my friend for instance he claims that its not his fault that the items are there and that he was/is unaware of there origin thus making him innocent – while I respect his point of view I feel as though hes just shutting his eyes and ears to the facts its the ignorance card and if they day comes when nexon does something about all these scrolls/mesos/items the fact that he says oh well i didnt know is not going to stop nexon from resetting or taking those equips.

Then there is the school of thought that nexon while saying they are doing something about the hacks in this game just put temp ban-aid fixes over the issues – the fact that most items are payed for by NX though MTS thus giving nexon more income Im sure if or when they release there next annual report there will be a large influx of NX purchases, While I can see where they are coming from i would hope that this theory is wrong.

Now Glitched spawn Bearwolfs and strong hold the most glitched maps in the game I dont think i need to say anything else on this – Lets take a trip back about 5 months when most of the bosses you would vs where glitched and broken almost every one i know took advantage of this. 

So whats my point, my point is the world of maplestory is painted in shades of grey there are those that go out of there way to obtain hacked items and those that use duped items to create items im not saying that either is correct just that things are interesting to say the lest these days in maple.

First, did LPQ 10 times, then went to the Haunted House. There, I killed Twisted Jesters in the Toy Room, which spawns 4 of them every time. Since there was a 2x EXP event, I leveled up there crazily.

In no time, I got to level 70~! Got my gear from the Empress, which is so damn great! And now, it’s job advancement time. I can’t believe time passed so fast just like that. And also, day’s over.

Tomorrow, 3rd job advancement.

Okay okay, in that 2 and a half hours, I actually found 6 peridots! Only 3 more left~!

Erm, so I don’t have anything else to say since the thing I did today was hunting for peridots.

7 down, 3 more to go. Hope I can find the remaining 3 tomorrow!
