I did it! After switching degrees, an OE trip to Korea and some ups and downs, I’ve finally graduated. However, I do miss prioritising sleep over classes and coffee catch-ups over the hike up Albert Park to university.

There’s just too much to be thankful for in the past few years.

My family,  for encouraging me throughout these years and supporting my decision in taking time off and going to Korea. They were always there for me to fall back on. My friends, those that I’ve met along the way and have now become one of the most important bunch of people of my life. The laughter, all-nighters, chair races along the corridors at night, and stress we’ve shared are now valuable memories.

Another milestone achieved, met with another challenge to face. I’m sure this next chapter will prove to be an exciting part of my life.

Gister was ik een dagje in Amsterdam, en wat moet je doen als je in Amsterdam bent? Juist, WINKELEN! Ik heb niet veel gekocht maar het was een leuk dagje. Eerst zijn we naar C&A gegaan daar heb ik 2 broeken gekocht:

Ik was alleen m’n camera vergeten dus de afbeeldingen heb ik van de site.

Naar C&A gingen we naar de Bijenkorf op de Dam. Toen ik die binnen liep o: wat groot, niet normaal. 4 Verdiepingen met alleen maar merk spullen, je vind daar echt alles: Gucci, Hugo     Boss, Louis Vuitton, Claudia Sträter, Chanel, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Ray Ban, Rituals en ga zo maar door. Op de 5e verdieping kon je eten, het zag er een beetje uit als La Place. Daar hebben we geluncht. Mijn lunch was een broodje kip met sla, sinaasappel-ananas sap (vers) en als Finishing Touch een appel-kaneel muffin.

Toen we uitgekeken was bij Bijenkorf zijn we via de dam naar de winkelstraat gegaan. Ik ben in super veel winkels geweest waaronder: H&M, P&C (Peek & Cloppenburg), Mango en Coolcat. Als laatste ben ik in Foot Locker geweest, daar heb ik een cap gekocht van de LA dodgers.

Having being caught up in uni work and needing to save for the next chapter in my life; Traveling, I have tried not to spend so much money. For me the only way to do that, is by not looking. But now that I have finished my degree and I am free as a bird, I have too much time to just look. So I think its about time i made a new purchase. These new Marc’s are adorable, stylish and perfect for summer. As with all things Marc Jacob’s, I love them. Although I can’t quite decide on what colour yet, I do know that one of my next pay days, its on!

This summer you all have my permission to go nude! On your nails of course! Springs hottest nail colour is nude! Kate Middleton is a big fan of the trend, and I can see why, it gives such a “barely there” classy, refined finish. Your nails but better! Super chic for nights on the tiles yet refined and ladylike enough to have that first meeting with your boyfriends parents….( There are some weirdo’s out there that think polish is for trampy chung’ones….like I said…weirdo’s)

My polish of choice at the moment is Essie “Sandy Bench” 13:00 euro in Boots Jervis street (they also sell in pharmacies, but not in my local one, woe is me!) I also highly recommend Mac nail lacquer in “Hangin Loose” and Bourjois so Laque in “Rose Lounge”. Kate Middleton wears all three, and on her wedding day she wore a blend of Essie “Allure” and Bourjois so Laque in “Rose lounge”…..if its fit for a future queen….

Seen at Topshop unique, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta and Chanel..to name but a few, this is nails chicest trend.

I mean, thanks to fashion, everytime I step on to an escalator, I am opening Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013.

And during rush hour, people get pissed at me because am blocking them by standing still on them escalator. They don’t understand that I am actually closing the same show, so that Marc Jacobs and do a jolly skip down them.

Nowadays, Grunge style is on the catwalk, and you don’t need to be a grunge person to dress that way…

Sometimes referred to as The Seattle Sound, Grunge is a sub-genre of alternative rock that emerged during the mid-80s. It became commercially successful in the first half of the 90′s thanks to Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

My favorites in 2013 are:

Marc by Marc Jacobs: he created a grunge style in his last catwalk for SS13. Previously, in 1989 he was fired from Perry Ellis just because he designed a grunge collection. Same year, he won the Designer of The Year Award in America.

Angel Barta and Marc Jacobs

I thought it would have been much interesting should i manage to feature an interview with Angel Barta. She and her story seem to epitomize modern fashion circles,reality and,yes,common people’s prejudices in the people working in the industry that most times have a hint of reality.The whole interview made me think,i must admit and i bet it will also engage you  in re- thinking fashion industry issues.And that’s healthy,i promise.

-I really loved your collection.How can someone obtain,lets say,a coat of yours,or they are custom made unique pieces?

Each piece of my collection is hand made, unique, one of a kind made in the highest quality, real couture. My brand will be ready soon. In the near future people can order my clothes directly from me.

-You also wrote a book,” The Secret Love Affair in Paris”.What made you write it and what is it about?

My book is about the first 2 years of my relationship with Marc Jacobs. I wrote about the fashion world, my life in Paris, my passion for clothes and beauty.
