<p>Becsukom a szemem; néha ez a legjobb védekezés a dolgok ellen, amikkel képtelenek vagyunk megbirkózni. Lassan felhúzom térdeim, egészen a mellkasom elé, s remegő karjaimmal átölelem őket. Tudom, nemsoká vége a zuhanásnak.</p>
<p>Adrenalin dübörög az ereimben, amint kibucskázok a végtelen járatból, s immár újból álló helyzetben porolom le bordó, fodros bársony ruhácskám.</p>
<p>A labirintus falai komótosan záródnak körém; közeledik az este. Tudom, ha nem jutok ki időben, a Vörös Királynő kártyakatonái megtalálnak, s velem fognak flamingó crickettet játszani szerencsétlen madarak helyett.</p>
<p>Szőke tincsek villannak egy robosztus bokor-flamingó mögül, s én szaladva indulok vélt megmentőm felé.</p>
<p>- Marco! &#8211; kiáltom a labirintus csendjébe, mintha csak bújócskázni volna kedvem.</p>
<p>- Polo! &#8211; felel egy mézédes hang a hátam mögül; zöld szemek villannak.</p>
<p>- Marco! &#8211;  kiáltom újból, immár az ellenkező  irányba futva.</p>
<p>- Polo! &#8211; a felelet ezúttal kicsit közelebbről szól, s mintha lábak halk neszelését vélném hallani a smaragd fűben.</p>
<p>- Marco! &#8211; lehelem a labirintus csendjébe; hirtelen mintha megfagyott volna az ezerszín világ. Gőz gomolyog a bőrömről, s rettegés kúszik fel lassan, alattomosan a gerincoszlopomon.</p>
<p>- Polo! &#8211; susogja a hang közvetlenül mögülem. Már a legkevésbé sem mézédes. Ó, nem&#8230; fagyott tükrök szilánkai tépik apró darabokra a betűket.</p>
<p>Hideg tőr mar a hátamba; mélyen és kegyetlenül. Végigszánt a meleg húsban, vért serkentve minden egyes apró érből; az acél elégedetten dorombol gazdája kezében.</p>
<p>- TÜKRÖT! &#8211; kiáltom bele a fagyos alkonyatba, ajkaim közül vér gyöngyözik.</p>
<p>Lassan gyöngyház fényű köd úszik elém, s szabályos formát vesz fel sík felületté szilárdulva. A valóság, s az álom tükrében végre meglátom magam; egyik kezem önnön torkom körül, a másik tőrt szorongat.  Kacaj keserű pirulái gurulnak szerteszét a dérlepte világban.</p>
<p>Lassan kifut minden erő a lábaimból, s félájultan a földre rogyok. A nyulat szólongatom, a Vörös királynőt, a kártyakatonákat, vagy bárkit, bárkit, aki meghall&#8230; Egyre fullasztóbb a magány.</p>
<p>- Marco! &#8211; suttogom vörössel az alkonyatba.</p>

Gilles NARBEBURU de Pau dans les Pyrénées Atlantiques de passage à Rognac accompagné de son épouse ; pour leur faire honneur, nous avions réservé une table au restaurant « Marco-Polo » de Marseille, endroit privilégié pour passer une bonne soirée alliant découverte : la gastronomie du Chef M. Jean Luc MAFFEI et un espace musical de choix. Hier soir, une très bonne surprise nous y attendait : un duo remarquable M. Claude GRATEREAU et M. Régis SEVIGNAC. Si je devais en faire une description rapide, imaginez le duo « Simon et Garfunkel », c’est l’image instantanée, un duo de talent, parfait, semblable. Tout en choisissant, découvrant les plats, nous avons pu profiter de l’espace musical en deux parties. Une première partie, tel un bouquet de fleurs, un florilège d’œuvres musicales, en seconde partie un aperçu du prochain spectacle intitulé « DUONOUGARO » ce duo, parfois trio à parfaitement réussi la soirée, sachant nous faire participer, nous entrainant dans leur jeu musical. Une superbe soirée pour les palais délicats, les oreilles attentives. Bravo, une fois encore au Chef M. Jean Luc MAFFEI pour la qualité de son accueil, de ses propositions, choix qui s’allient toujours avec beaucoup de goût et d’harmonie. Nous avons passé une excellente soirée. Merci. Yesterday evening a very pleasant surprise awaited us: a remarkable duo Claude GRATEREAU and Régis SEVIGNAC. If I had to make a quick description, imagine the duo &#8220;Simon and Garfunkel&#8221; is the snapshot, a talented duo, perfect, like. While choosing, finding the dishes, we enjoyed the musical space in two parts. The first part, like a bouquet of flowers, a selection of music, in the second half a glimpse of the next show titled &#8220;DUONOUGARO&#8221; this duo sometimes trio perfectly successful night, knowing we do participate, takes us into their game Music. A wonderful evening for the palate, ears attentive. Gestern Abend eine sehr angenehme Überraschung erwartete uns: ein bemerkenswertes Duo Claude GRATEREAU und Régis SEVIGNAC. Wenn ich eine kurze Beschreibung zu machen, vorstellen, das Duo &#8220;Simon and Garfunkel&#8221; ist die Momentaufnahme, eine talentierte Duo, perfekt, wie. Bei der Auswahl, die Gerichte zu finden, wir genossen die musikalischen Raum in zwei Teile. Ayer por la tarde una agradable sorpresa nos esperaba: una notable dúo Claude GRATEREAU y Régis SEVIGNAC. Si tuviera que hacer una rápida descripción, imagine el dúo &#8220;Simon and Garfunkel&#8221; es la instantánea, un dúo de talento, perfecto, como. Mientras que elegir, encontrar los platos, disfrutamos del espacio musical en dos partes. La primera parte, como un ramo de flores, una selección de música, en ver el segundo medio de la próxima exposición titulada &#8220;DUONOUGARO&#8221;, este dúo a veces trío noche muy exitosa, sabiendo que no participamos, nos lleva en su música del juego. Una noche maravillosa para el paladar, oídos atentos. <p>La procedencia del célebre mercader es discutida por la historiografía  moderna. Tradicionalmente se apunta su supuesta ascendencia veneciana, sin embargo, existen <a href="http://www.korcula.net/mpolo/mpolo_paveskovic_esp.htm">referencias inexcusables</a> que sitúan su origen en la isla adriática de Korčula (actual Croacia). No obstante, la importancia de sus viajes en el desarrollo de la cultura occidental está fuera de toda duda. <strong>Marco Polo</strong> atravesó el mundo musulmán y exploró las regiones más inhóspitas del continente asiático en un viaje que duró veintisiete años (1271 &#8211; 1298). Asimismo, fue uno de los primeros europeos que siguió la <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_aG3asFiGE">ruta de la seda</a>. A él debemos la introducción generalizada en nuestro continente de la pasta, los helados, la pólvora y algunos juegos. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Di scuole vecchio stampo, quelle col crocifisso in tutte le aule, a Firen­ze ne rimangono davvero poche. A dispetto delle tante proteste scatena­te dalla sentenza della Corte di Stra­sburgo, nei nostri istituti in pochi fanno ancora caso alla presenza del crocifisso. Si trova solo in alcune au­le, quasi mai in tutte. Per non parla­re delle scuole di recente costruzio­ne, che ne sono del tutto sprovviste. È il caso dell’istituto tecnico per il turismo Marco Polo: «Da me non ce ne sono — dice il preside Gianfran­co Carloni — Quattro anni fa ci sia­mo trasferiti in locali ristrutturati, e ce li hanno consegnati senza croci­fissi ». Nella vecchia struttura c’era­no, ma sono rimasti lì: «Nel trasferi­mento del mobilio nessuno ha pen­sato ai crocifissi, anche se, secondo la Costituzione e in accordo coi Patti Lateranensi, la scuola ha l’obbligo di esporli nelle aule». Anche all’istituto Russel Newton, inaugurato nel 1998, crocifissi non ce ne sono. Al momento dell’apertura la scuola ne era sprovvista e nessuno ha mai pensato a metterli. Non è mai sta­ta affissa neanche la foto del Presiden­te della Repubblica, che si dovrebbe trovare almeno nell’ufficio di presi­denza: «Non ci sono perché non ce li hanno mai mandati — racconta la di­rigente Sandra Scotti. <p>NON E&#8217; COMPRESO NELL&#8217;ARREDO SCOLASTICO &#8211; Stando a queste testimonianze, pa­re che da un po’ di tempo a questa parte il simbolo cristiano non sia più compreso nell’arredo scolastico. A provvedere alla dotazione degli arre­di per le scuole sono Provincia e Co­mune, la prima per gli istituti supe­riori e il secondo per gli altri livelli d’istruzione. Giovanni Di Fede, asses­sore provinciale all’istruzione, spie­ga così l’assenza dei crocifissi: «In li­nea di principio sono acquisti che ri­guardano le scuole. Le piccole spese sono fatte direttamente da loro. La Provincia è tenuta a fornire gli arredi essenziali per il funzionamento del servizio, quali sono ad esempio ban­chi e sedie. Il crocifisso non è com­preso nel pacco della fornitura. Si tratta di un simbolo, e non di un arre­do. Se le scuole vogliono acquistarlo possono farlo autonomamente». Se nelle scuole più recenti non si è mai visto, nelle altre il crocifisso è in via d’estinzione. Negli istituti com­prensivi Montagnola Gramsci e Cen­tro Storico sopravvive solo in alcune aule, mentre ai licei Gobetti e Miche­langelo non ne resta ormai neppure uno. Al tecnico Peano è rimasto solo quello della presidenza: «Ho solo quello nel mio ufficio, perché c’era già prima che arrivassi. Nessuno stu­dente ha mai fatto richiesta, e noi non l’abbiamo comprato. D’altronde da noi fanno religione solo due o tre studenti per classe». Anche allo scientifico Castelnuovo il preside Giuseppe Di Lorenzo ha scelto di la­sciare le cose così come stavano: «Mi sono limitato ad accettare lo status quo . In alcune aule c’è e in altre no. Io non l’ho né ripristinato né tolto». Stesso modo di procedere all’Iti Da Vinci. «Dove si sono rotti non li abbia­mo ricomprati» afferma il dirigente Massimo Batoni, che poi confessa: «Dopo due anni e mezzo, mi sono ac­corto ieri che in ufficio ne ho uno die­tro le spalle». L’eccezione che confer­ma la regola è la scuola media Ro­sai- Calamandrei, dove il crocifisso è affisso in tutte le aule: «Averli è un ob­bligo — dice la preside Manuela Tara­busi — e noi li abbiamo dappertutto. Io sono contraria, ma ci sono delle re­gole. Quando abbiamo inaugurato la scuola ho fatto esplicita richiesta al Comune, che ce li ha comprati».</p>

<p>If you thought Thursday was busy, you were wrong. So was I &#8211; since it was Saturday that seemed to bring all the people of the Earth to the book fair &#8211; by the millions, nearly&#8230; Well, on my third day at the book fair I could already sense the first symptomps of &#8220;fair fatigue&#8221;. My feet were aching, my head was numb, and &#8211; what a nice rhyme it gives here &#8211; I began to feel a little dumb.</p>
<p>Agoraphobia? Exhaustion? Information overdose? Maybe, at least a bit. The &#8220;minor&#8221; thing about Saturday was one I had not registered, namely that it was the first day the great public could enter the holy corridors of the book fair. Yes, that means ordinary people. Casual. Wearing their pajamas, nearly.</p>
<p>Well, to inferno with it, what can you expect from ordinary people &#8211; pardon me for saying this &#8211; since  they&#8217;re like a swarm of insects that run around to get their pieces of sugar the big creatures left behind. No, book people are not elitist, not to the smallest extent, it&#8217;s just me and my childish willingness to have some peace and quiet in the global village&#8230; do you ever think it&#8217;s hard to concentrate on the essential when there&#8217;s a mosquito inside your ear? That&#8217;s what it felt like to me.</p>
<p>OK, I&#8217;m just guessing why I complain, perhaps the thing that caused Saturday to become a bit empty to me, in a sense, wasn&#8217;t the swarms of bibliophiles but the fact that I had probably gotten the most of the fair experience already. The fact that I&#8217;m a relatively calm bookseller from a small town in a small country only comes after that. I like people when they don&#8217;t come in the millions [though the financial prospects must be taken into account]. <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Which, again, brings us back to China, the Guest of Honour country this year. Thinking of China leads my thoughts to Marco Polo, who was a trendsetter at his own time, opening the European eyes towards Far Eastern culture. It is really unfortunate that we do not know whether he really visited China or not, but at least he had his own impact on Western culture. Polo&#8217;s <em>Il Milione</em> has given so many generations something new to dream about. Though I believe that had there been a Frankfurt Book Fair in Polo&#8217;s era, he would have just gone there to get a better picture on the giant of the East. I brought a bagful of brochures home too&#8230;</p>

<p>Havde ikke lige tid til at ligge billeder op i går, men så er det godt, at jeg kan gøre det i dag. I dag har jeg nemlig bare slappe af tøj på; jeg er stadig hos mine forældre, og jeg hygger mig rigtig meget. <title><![CDATA[No Thanks to Marco Polo: An Encyclopedia of Italy’s Pasta Shapes]]></title>

<p>Marco Polo returned to Italy from his Chinese travels in 1296. The myth, legend, what have you, credits him with introducing pasta into Italy’s culinary repertoire. But Marco Polo did NOT bring pasta to Italy. And 73-year-old Italian author <a title="Oretta Zanini de Vita" href="http://sofaarome.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/book-launch-at-the-aar-oretta-zanini-de-vita%E2%80%99s-encyclopedia-of-pasta/" target="_blank">Oretta Zanini de Vita</a> wants you to know that, immediately, upfront and center.</p>
<p>Zanini de Vita says,</p>
<blockquote><p>Dried pasta, the kind made with durum wheat, is found in Italy from about A.D. 800. It was in fact the Muslim occupiers of Sicily who spread the manufacturing and drying technique.</p></blockquote>
<p>But the Chinese beg to differ, and that’s another story …*</p>
<p>In the ongoing search for the roots of cuisine comes another branch: Oretta Zanini de Vita’s <em>Encyclopedia of Pasta</em> (California Studies in Food and Culture series, 2009). Translated from the original Italian by Maureen B. Fant, this particular offering far surpasses previous efforts like <em>The Cook’s Encyclopedia of Pasta</em> and so forth.</p>

<p>Ostensibly a catalog of pasta shapes, because &#8212; as Zanini de Vita says “Pasta may be the unchallenged symbol of Italian food, yet no in-depth research as ever been done on its many shapes [she found over 1300 names for pastas].” &#8212; <em>Encyclopedia of Pasta</em> comes in part from oral history, adding a dimension to food studies research that is usually missing. After all, unless time travel turns out to be part of the new technology, no one can go back and talk to the peasants standing outside the manor house, watching the sides of beef and haunches of venison being carried in for great feasts.</p>

<p>Most scholars rely on early printed texts, but knowing that an important historical source would soon disappear, Zanini de Vita chose another route. In her own journey, not unlike the wanderlust-infected Marco Polo, she traveled across Italy for ten years, talking</p>
<blockquote><p>with samplings of very old people, trying to jog their memories about the pasta-making traditions and rituals of the past. … Their stories vividly confirmed … until just after World War II, the country had eaten ‘green,’ that is, only vegetable soup, with pasta a s a rule reserved for the tables of the middle and upper classes in towns and cities and only occasionally for the feast-day tables of the poor.</p></blockquote>
<p>In addition to the bibliography, bilingual indices, and glossary, the result is 290 pages of alphabetically arranged entries, giving the name of the pasta shape and its type, ingredients, alternative names, how served, where found, and remarks about the pasta made by the informants. No pretty colorful pictures gloss the text, but lovely hand-drawn illustrations by Luciana Marini grace many entries. An ample bibliography of Italian-language works, as well as notes and a glossary, provide the necessary scholarly touch to a work that a reader will actually want to read while burning the midnight oil. Like all good literature, <em>Encyclopedia of Pasta</em> tells a good story, or rather, many great stories about a food that symbolizes, frankly, a collective nostalgic myth surrounding Italian cuisine.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/just_maria/2632800839/"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-14753" title="Pasta shapes" src="http://cbertel.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/pasta-shapes.jpg?w=300" alt="Pasta shapes" width="300" height="199" /></a>Regarding a stuffed pasta called <em>Ofelle</em>, Zanini de Vita writes:</p>
<blockquote><p>The word <em>offa</em> used to mean the Roman spelt cake that was offered to the gods. Aeneas himself, when he came face to face with Cerberus at the gates to the underworld, managed to put the terrible dog to sleep by giving him an ‘<em>offa</em> made sleepy with honey and drugged meal.’</p></blockquote>
<p>And in the many names and shapes of pasta lie a lot of history. Just one example serves to illustrate this aspect of pasta shapes: <em>Cappellacci dei Briganti</em>:</p>
<blockquote><p>The name, literally ‘brigands’ hats, refers to the conical hat with upturned brim that was part of the everyday uniform of the <em>briganti</em>, from <em>brigantaggio</em>, a bloody and disorderly social and political movement active in the Mezzogiorno during the unification of Italy and the first decade of the Kingdom of Italy.</p></blockquote>
<p>Among the complaints a reader might have about <em>Encyclopedia of Pasta</em> is that there are no numerically detailed recipes, much like many old cookbooks. However, the enterprising cook could take the list of ingredients and the notes in the “How Made” section and attempt to reproduce the tastes of the past. Another question concerns the reliability of her informants, but the copious bibliography indicates that much textual research went into <em>Encyclopedia of Pasta</em> as well as oral history. Yet more needs to be done, as Oretta Zanini de Vita suggests:</p>
<blockquote><p>[T]his is a first, hesitant attempt to catalog an unalienable heritage that belongs to all Italians. Perhaps there are some courageous and willing souls to carry it on.</p></blockquote>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Fino alla morte, Cristoforo Colombo s&#8217;illuderà d&#8217;RAGGIUNTO Aver, non le spiagge cubano, ma le meravigliose isole dei mari asiatici e le spiagge del Giappone &#8211; quel misterioso Cipangu DI CUI Marco racconta nel Polo <a href="http://www.italialibri.net/opere/milione.html#note#note"><strong><em>Milione</em></strong></a> (1). Questo il potere e il fascino indiscusso del libro «dove si raccontano le Meraviglie del Mondo».</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ma, al di là delle leggende, dei sogni, dei Miraggi e delle illusioni alimentate uno poeti e conquistatori, per secoli, il <em>Milione</em> ha dato all&#8217;Occidente l&#8217;immagine più vera di un mondo pressochè ignoto: l&#8217;Oriente. Grande è il varco Che il libro di messer Marco Polo verso lontana Quella apri Civiltà e diversa: scoprendola e rivelandola, per la prima volta, all&#8217;Europa. Ed inestimabile rimase l&#8217;apporto alle Conoscenze geografiche del tempo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Unico «Paradossalmente, un&#8217;arguzia del destino ha voluto Che il racconto del lungo viaggio compiuto dal« primo occidentale ad Aver vagato tra la Persia e la Cina, dall &#8216;annuncio Aver RAGGIUNTO I luoghi più riservati del potere alla corte del Gran Khan », Venisse scritto nello spazio angusto, grigio e monotono di una prigione. <p style="text-align:justify;">Dall&#8217;incontro di Uomini a causa Appartenenti uno così contrastanti Diversi e Mondi, è nato il Milione &#8211; più propriamente intitolato, ESSENDO STATO steso Nella redazione originale, andata perduta, in <a href="http://www.italialibri.net/opere/milione.html#note#note"><strong>franco-italiano</strong></a> (3) &#8212; <em>Divisament dou monde o Livre des merveilles.</em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">E così favola e realtà si ritrovano in questo <a href="http://www.italialibri.net/opere/milione.html#note#note"><strong>trattato Geografico</strong></a> (4) Dalla struttura composita, in CUI La narrazione, risentendo dell&#8217;influsso di generi Diversi, passa dall&#8217;andamento uno novellistico dell&#8217;exemplum Quello, dal racconto agiografico al Resoconto storico. Come in una moderna guida turistica &#8211; sottolinea Cesare Segre nell&#8217;Introduzione all&#8217;edizione Meridiani Mondadori &#8211; Le indicazioni sulla posizione e la conformazione dei Paesi si allargano una nota Sulle produzioni locali, Sugli usi caratteristici, su Vicende storiche e aneddoti ».</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A Marco Polo, Ambasciatore del Gran Khan, interessa vedere «le tante maravigliose cose del mondo» o più semplicemente «Le cose che sono per lo mondo»: «più amava li Diversi costumi de le terre sapere Che sapere quello, perch&#8217;egli avea mandato ». È, infatti, la curiosità appassionata del viaggiatore veneziano per i costumi, la vita, le tradizioni, le Abitudini Diversi dei Popoli, Il suo senso dell&#8217;ignoto, la sua sete per il nuovo el&#8217;insolito della realtà, il tratto distintivo e il motivo conduttore di questa semplice e grandiosa guida dell&#8217;Asia.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Diversamente da come uno è lungo Stato letto Dalla critica, il Milione non vuole Essere un manuale pratico per i commercianti Occidentali, un libro di Memorie di un mercante Destinazione ai Mercanti. Anche le notizie commerciali &#8211; Rispetto ai prezzi di trasporto, ai vari tipi di Moneta, alle tasse e alle varie mercanzie &#8211; Che Occorrono qua e là nel testo, appaiono, in realtà, «Aspetti di vita». «Per il veneziano &#8211; sostiene L. Olschki in L&#8217;Asia di Marco Polo (Civelli, Firenze, 1957) &#8211; Il Mondo è tutto uno spettacolo Che Egli ritrae come ricorda E PUÒ, in una grande Varietà di stili e in illimitate manifestazioni naturali e umane ».</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">«Laica Sintesi e terrena da porsi Accanto Alle Due celebri sintesi in CUI in CUI SI è riassunto il Medioevo teologico e filosofico, la Summa di San Tommaso d&#8217;Aquino e la Divina Commedia», è il <em>Milione</em> per Luigi Foscolo Benedetto: l&#8217;autore di un&#8217;edizione critica Rimasta assolutamente Fondamentale per lo studio della <a href="http://www.italialibri.net/opere/milione.html#tradizione#tradizione"><strong>storia testuale</strong></a> del libro.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Il testo originale di Marco Polo e Rustichello è scomparso, ma Bizzarro, irrequieto, instabile e sfuggente, <em>Le Livres de messer Marco Polo</em> è sopravvissuto in innumerevoli traduzioni e Redazioni, Colomba, innumerevole e frantumato, riappare un mondo irrequieto, magico e reale: l&#8217;Asia del XIII secolo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>La tradizione manoscritta del testo e le edizioni</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Immenso successo riscuote fin da subito il Milione, tanto Che già all&#8217;inizio del Trecento circola in versioni toscane più o meno Fedeli. Testimoni della sua grandissima fortuna sono, oltre alle Molteplici Redazioni, ben oltre i 130 codici Che ci hanno tramandato il testo Nelle più lingue diverse: dal latino al francese ai dialetti italiani (in particolar modo il Veneto), Catalano AL, al portoghese, al Tedesco, al Boemo all&#8217;irlandese. E se le Redazioni in latino Erano ad uso dei missionari e degli Scienziati, volgari Nelle quelle lingue e nei dialetti avevano come commercianti Destinatari e viaggiatori &#8211; oltre naturalmente ad attestare la fruizione del <em>Milione</em> anche solo come semplice libro d&#8217;evasione.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Tuttavia, proprio la copiosa mole di manoscritti, insieme alla perdita dell&#8217;originale redatto in franco-italiano da Rustichello, ha originato Problemi di carattere filologico Tali Che Appare pressochè impossibile ricostruire un testo Che si avvicini all&#8217;originale. «L&#8217;imponente tradizione del Milione-afferma Cesare Segre nell&#8217;introduzione all&#8217;edizione Meridiani Mondadori &#8211; non presenta infatti un succedersi meccanico di copie, ma una inesauribile attività rielaborativa&#8221;. Potata La stesura originale è Stata, infatti, e, semplificata Alleggerita in modo tale da conferire «Ogni Volta &#8230; un tono Diverso alla voce riferita da Rustichello».</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La traduzione toscana del Milione &#8211; compiuta da un Spesso Cade Che volgarizzatore in errori e fraintendimenti dell&#8217;originale franco-italiano &#8211; è da manoscritti conservata Stata Cinque: II II 61, II, IV, 88, II, IV, 136 della Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze; Ashburnhamiano 525 della Biblioteca Laurenziana; Ital. .. .. 434 della Biblioteca Nazionale di Parigi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ebbene, uno il lungo <em>Milione</em> Stato è letto Nella redazione toscana detta dell &#8216; «ottimo». «Ottimo» è il nome dato al codice Magliabechiano II.IV. 88, Che è per l&#8217;appunto il più autorevole manoscritto italiano tra le antiche</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">traduzioni toscane. SI TRATTA DI UNA Riduzione, Spesso imprecisa, dell&#8217;originale di Rustichello &#8211; scritta al più tardi nel 1309, ad Esso Quindi posteriore di pochi anni.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Proposta ESSENDO Stata in <a href="http://www.italialibri.net/opere/milione.html#note#note"><strong>Numerose edizioni</strong></a> (5) si è finito poi per IDENTIFICARE questa versione toscana con l&#8217;opera realmente composta da Marco Polo e Rustichello.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In seguito, tuttavia, Fondamentale è Stata la ricostruzione di Luigi Foscolo Benedetto, Che ha Invece Basato la sua edizione critica (Il Milione, prima edizione integrale a cura di Luigi Foscolo Benedetto, Firenze, 1928) sul manoscritto 1116 della Biblioteca Nazionale di Parigi, Nettamente franco-italiano: Le Divisament dou monde. Toscana Al testo prescelto ha unito in apparato i passi mancanti in tale manoscritto, lasciandoli Nella forma con CUI sono pervenuti fino a noi (francese,, veneta, Latina). Quindi, ha tentato l&#8217;unificazione linguistica e stilistica di tutto il materiale raccolto, traducendolo in prosa moderna italiana (Il libro di Messer Marco Polo Cittadino di Venezia detto il Milione, dove si raccontano le Meraviglie del Mondo, Milano-Roma, 1932).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A partire Dagli importanti contributi di Luigi Foscolo Benedetto, gli studi filologici, più o meno recenti, Hanno così stabilito Che Tre sono i manoscritti più vicini all&#8217;archetipo: una traduzione latina, purtroppo tarda e mutila ma che Contiene passi assenti negli altri dovuti; Il codice francese 1116 della Nazionale di Parigi, in assoluto il migliore, ed infine la redazione trecentesca toscana Che Stata Stabilita da V. Bertolucci Pizzorusso.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">La sua edizione Bertolucci Pizzorusso Nella critica &#8211; la prima versione della Toscana e sicuramente la più attendibile di tutte le altre precedenti edizioni &#8211; ha ribaltato la scelta tradizionale, dimostrando Che Più che emendare il cosiddetto «ottimo» con l&#8217;aiuto degli altri manoscritti, occorreva Innanzi tutto optare per l&#8217;inedito II, IV, 136, confrontandolo poi, naturalmente, con gli altri codici.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Quest&#8217;edizione critica pubblicata da Adelphi (Milano, 1975) è Stata ristampata anche Nell&#8217;edizione a cura di A. Lanza e con Introduzione di <a href="http://www.italialibri.net/autori/manganellig.html#Top_of_Page"><strong>Giorgio Manganelli</strong></a> (Ed. Riuniti, Roma 1980), e Nell&#8217;edizione della collana «I Meridiani» di Mondadori, redazione Assieme alla Franco-Italiana (Milione. Le Divisament dou monde, a cura di G. Ronchi e con Introduzione di C. Segre, Mondadori, Milano 1982).</p>

<p>The halloween spirits must&#8217;ve smiled upon me today&#8211; I literally just finished recording, mixing, and uploaded this song in the last hour, about 2 hours after I woke up.  <strong>I feel accomplished.</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s rare that I find an instrumental that&#8217;s mainstream that I WANT to speed rap over.  I first discovered <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZbTeoFFS2o" target="_blank">Twista&#8217;s version of this song</a> on his mix-tape <a href="http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/2009/04/twista-the-calm-before-the-storm" target="_blank">&#8220;The Calm Before the Storm&#8221;</a> and enjoyed it so much I had to make my own version.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>&#8220;The Story of Tea&#8221; are a series of  Tea parties for early learners of English .<br />
Laura K Wrang launched three storytelling sessions for 4th graders in Elsinore north of Copenhagen on Monday the 26th of oktober 2009.</p>
<p>&#8220;The story of Tea&#8221; is an interactive storytelling experience, which speaks to all our senses</p>
<p>Laura introduces the listener to the world of tea, by telling the myths, as well as the cultural facts of how Tea has travelled across many borders through time.</p>
<p>Facts and fiction blend into each other, as the listener travels to China and hears the 5000 year old myth of the golden emperor Chen Nung. Travels through the mountain passes and dessert lands of the silkroad with Marco Polo. Jumps onto the famous Teaclippers, that cut through the tropical waters and waves, as swiftly as any modern Yacht today. Leading them through turbulent seas filled with greedy  Pirates and jealous competitors, letting the listener feel how very dangerous it was for Tea to travel the two thirds around the world &#8211; from east to west.</p>
<p>And finally all the senses are awakened, when the words are followed by seeing, touching, smelling and finally tasting &#8211; the many different examples of teas.</p>
<p>Storytelling is great and fun way of learning something new.</p>

<p>&#8230;.. ja altså puha jeg er godt nok sort i dag, men altså vil lige komme med et par undskyldninger. 1. Det var så gråt vejr igen i dag (i hvert fald i morges), at det passede så godt til. 2. Min frakke var grøn. 3. Der er dresscode på mit arbejde, og jeg skulle direkte fra uni til arbejde. 4. Jeg ELSKER sort. Okay indrømmer det. Jeg skal simpelthen til at købe lidt andet end sort, men også kun lidt, for det er jo verdens mest fantastiske farve. Synes jeg.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-3285" title="Venecia Paris1" src="http://destinosinolvidables.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/venecia-paris1.jpg?w=300" alt="Venecia Paris1" width="300" height="225" />Nuestra salida de la bella ciudad de Venecia fue algo atropellada, ya que no sabíamos exactamente donde tomar nuestro vaporeto, preguntando nos informaron que en la estación de Rialto salía uno de estos típicos transportes al aeropuerto de Marco Polo. Abordamos el bote muy emocionados y a la vez tristes por dejar esta bella ciudad Italiana llena de cultura y arte. Muy confiados desembarcamos y el grupo jaló su maletas hasta llegar a la terminal aérea, buscando el módulo de Ryanair, al estar dando vueltas y no encontrarlo preguntamos en uno de los módulos de información y nuestra sorpresa fue que en ese aeropuerto no se encontraba, o sea que nos equivocamos de terminal aérea, la que nos correspondía estaba del otro lado de la ciudad y era el aeropuerto de Treviso. A pesar de que llegamos con 15 min. de antelación los nervios y los enojos salieron y medio nos organizamos preguntando cómo llegar a Treviso. Todo fue un show tuvimos que tomar un camión que nos llevaría a una estación central y de ahí coger un taxi u otro bus que tardaría como 45 minutos en llegar. El grupo se desconcertó y mi esposa rápidamente se organizó junto con otro amigo y trataron de negociar un taxi que por 95 euros nos llevaría hasta Treviso. Total que yo ya estaba enojado por el gasto no contemplado y con la preocupación de llegar, el chofer se fue rapidísimo, supo bien dónde meterse para no perder tiempo en el tráfico y por fin llegamos a documentar a Treviso.</p>

Insula este perceputa ca un non-loc de neatins; pe tarmurile insulei acostezi din intimplare, iar, odata parasita, nu mai exista cale de intoarcere. Asadar, numai pe o insula se poate cladi o civilizatie perfecta, despre care noua ne ajunge vestea numai din legende. Desi civilizatia greaca isi are leaganul printre arhipelaguri, trebuind deci sa fie invatata cu insulele, <strong>Ulise</strong> ii intilneste pe Circe, pe Polifem sau pe Nausicaa numai pe insule misterioase. In <em>Argonauticele</em> de <strong>Apolloniu din Rhodos</strong> se descopera insule, in timpul calatoriei sale pe mare, in timpul calatoriei sale pe mare, Sfintul Brendan ajunge pe tarmurile Isulelor Fericirii sau ale norocului, <em>Utopia</em> lui <strong>Thomas Morus</strong> este zidita pe o insula si tot pe insule infloresc civilizatiile necunoscute si desavirsite la care viseaza cei din secolele al XVII-lea si XVIII-lea, de la tinutul Austral al lui Foigny pina la insula unde traia populatia Severambes a lui Varaise. Tot pe o insula cauta paradisul pierdut (fara a-l gasi) rasculatii de pe <strong>Bounty,</strong> pe o insula traieste capitanul<strong> Nemo</strong> al lui Jules Verne, pe o insula sunt ingropate comoara lui Stevenson si cea a contelui de Monte Cristo si asa mai departe, pina la insulele distopiilor, de la monstrii doctorului Moreau pina la insula Doctorului No, pe care acosteaza James Bond. De ce sunt fascinante insulele ? Nu atit pentru ca, asa cum sugereaza insusi cuvintul care le denumeste, sunt un tarim izolat de restul lumii. Locuri indepartate de societatea omeneasca au fost descoperite si pe intinderi nesfirsite de uscat de catre <strong>Marco Polo</strong> sau Giovanni Pian del Carpine. Motivul este altul : pina in secolul al XVIII-lea, cind s-a putut determina longitudinea, puteai probabil sa dai intimplator peste o insula si puteai sa evadezi din acel loc, precum Ulise, insa n-o puteai regasi cu nici-un chip. Inca din vremea <strong>Sfintului Brendan</strong> ( si pina la Gozzano ), o insula era intotdeauna o <em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Insula Perdita</span></em>. Acest fapt explica succesul si fascinatia exercitata de acele tiparituri foarte populare intre secolele al XV-lea si al XVI-lea, care au fost cartile cu insule, registru al tuturor insulelor din lume, al celor cunoscute si al celor despre care se amintea in legende vagi. In felul lor, aceste carti cu insule tindeau spre o precizie geografica dusa la extrem ( spre deosebire de povestirile despre meleaguri indepartate din secolele precedente ) si oscilau la limita dintre scrierea traditionala si jurnalul de calatorie. Uneori, autorii se inselau : credeau ca exista doua insule, Taprobane si <strong>Ceylon,</strong> acolo unde, cum bine stim astazi, exista numai una, dar ce mai conteaza ? Doar descriau o geografie a necunoscutului sau macar a prea putin cunoscutului. Pe urma apar jurnalele calatorilor din secolul al XVIII-lea : <strong>Cook,</strong> Bougainville, La Perouse &#8230; Si acestia erau in cautarea insulelor,insa aveau grija sa descrie numai ceea ce vedeau, fara a mai respecta traditia literara. In acest caz, lucrurile stau cu totul altfel. Dupa mine, cel mai bun text despre cartile cu insule este cel al lui Tarcisio Lancioni, Viaggio tra gli Isolari, care ne vorbeste despre insulele existente inaintea, in timpul si dupa aparitia acestor scrieri. Contine printre altele, si fise ale celor mai celebre carti cu insule, alcatuite de Paolo Pampioli. Cartea cu insulele a lui Bordone a fost tiparita pentru prima oara la Venetia, in 1528, si o a doua editie a aparut in 1534. Exista si o editie ulterioara, din 1565. Cea de a doua editie este considerata mai buna decit prima, deoarece contine si informatii despre America, spre exemplu prima descriere tiparita a intrarii lui <strong>Pizarro</strong> in Peru, si prima harta a Japoniei publicata in Europa. Intr-adevar, Bordone lasa la o parte traditia impusa de cartile precedente cu insule, care se limitau la insulele din bazinul mediteraneean, si tine cont de jurnalele de calatorie ale expeditiilor care au dus la descoperirile geografice ale vremii. Incearca sa se elibereze de legenda pentru a patrunde in geografie si s-ar putea spune ca descrierile sale sunt foarte eterogene, unele precise si altele vagi, caci, atunci cind nu cunoaste realitatea, Bordone nu voia sa scrie din auzite si prefera sa taca. Dar acest fapt nu se verifica intotdeauna. Si el brodeaza despre Taprobane, pe marginea scrierilor lui Eratostene; situeaza Islanda dincolo de cercul polar de nord si incearca din rasputeri sa salveze <strong>Ultima Thule</strong>, in care nimeni nu mai credea. Situeaza Zanzibarul la o aruncatura de bat de Madagascar si ii da dimensiuni disproportionate in comparatie cu acesta, consemneaza Insulele Satirilor si nu pierde ocazia de a accepta toate informatiile precedente. Astfel, se simte aproape un dezechilibru intre aparenta precizie a hartilor ( care aproape reusesc sa convinga ) si invalmaseala de curiozitati legendare din text.</p>
<p>Dar sa spunem lucrurilor pe nume : daca le-ar fi nimerit pe toate, ar mai fi existat motive sa visam plecind de la textul lui Bordone mai degraba decit de la un atlas De Agostini ?  </p>
