O moço ainda é produtor de filmes independentes e esculpe peças em bronze em escala mini, como Polaroids e fitas-cassete. E parece que essas últimas agradaram tanto que ele acabou de firmar uma parceria com a Maison Martin Margiela para produzir uma linha limitadíssima de 199 dessas fitinhas. O mais legal dessa peça-acessório é que você pode usar no lugar e da forma que quiser. Dá só uma olhada na foto.

Rizzoli’s new Martin Margiela book is incredible. True to Margiela’s minimalist design style, the clean white book is filled with amazing images telling the story of the peculiar designer’s style and influence in the fashion world.

Avec la déferlante des épaulettes, nous revoilà en plein revival des années 80. Tout d’abord, je me suis herrissée face à cette tendance. Depuis des années je passe justement mon temps à découdre les épaulettes de tous les chemisiers et blazers que j’achète en brocante. Et puis face aux défilés balmain, j’ai cédé. Ok, l’épaulette a été parfaitement adaptée par les créateurs. Mais l’épaulette demande, à mon sens, d’être en accord parfait avec une tenue travaillée et structurée. Je n’imagine pas enfiler un jean, un tee shirt tout simple et une veste ultra structurée. Je n’ai pas encore trouvé la bonne pièce, mais je craquerai sûrement pour une robe dans le style des h&m ou zara. Voici mon repérage.

And I mean it. Renzo Rosso, CEO of Diesel Group (owner of Maison Martin Margiela since 2002) confirmed yesterday that Martin himself is not designing for his namesake label anymore. “He has not been there for a long time. We have a new fresh design team on board”, he said. This is the respone to the rumours that have boosted all over during last year and finally exploded a couple of days ago after latest Margiela show (S/S 2010), which gathered dreadful reviews. Critics such as Suzy Menkes just couln’t believe that the collection was designed by the genial Belgian. Read  full story here.

I don’t really care though, since I have this real size candle-Tabi boot and that’s all what I can ask for to Margiela. It was a limited edition launched last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the brand, a gift I received as a journalist. We journlaists  might not earn  much money (at least here in Spain it’s so little!) but we do have this kind of wonderful and rare stuff.

Esto es literal. Martin Margiela ya no es Martin Margiela porque el diseñador ya no diseña la ropa de la firma que lleva su nombre. Parece un trabalenguas, pero así lo confirmó ayer Renzo Rosso, presidente del grupo Diesel, que adquirió la marca belga en 2002. Lo ha hecho en respuesta a los insistentes rumores que han circulado a lo largo del último año y que finalmente alcanzaron su cénit hace dos días, cuando la colección para la primavera de 2010 presentada por Maison Martin Margiela en París recibió las peores críticas imaginables. Los críticos más influyentes, como Suzy Menkes, simplemente no podían creer que aquello fuera obra del genial diseñador flamenco. “Martin lleva un tiempo sin estar. Tenemos un nuevo y fresco equipo de diseño”, es lo que ha declarado Renzo Rosso. Podéis leer más, en inglés, aquí. 

Claro, que a mí todo esto me da un poco igual, porque tengo esta vela que imita a tamaño real una bota Tabi, y ya no le puedo pedir más a Margiela. Es una edición limitadísima que salió el año pasado para conmemorar el 20º aniversario de la firma y que a mí me regalaron en calidad de periodista. Los periodistas podemos no ganar un duro, pero cosas maravillosas y raras como ésta tenemos para aburrir. Me da reparo encender la mecha. ¿Debería?

PD: Para quienes no lo sepáis, la vela es una reproducción a tamaño real de las famosas botas Tabi de Margiela, una de las prendas más icónicas de la historia de la marca. Y las intrigas repecto a si el propio Martin seguía diseñando para la casa o no se deben al anonimato que el diseñador ha mantenido siempre. No concede entrevistas, no se deja fotografiar y, por supuesto, nunca ha saludado después de un desfile. Martin Margiela siempre ha sido un fantasma. Desde que en 2002 Diesel adquirió esta firma de culto, hay un temor generalizado a un posible viraje comercial.

It was only the other day I was talking about Margiela and how to pronounce his name properly. Anyhow I was also on another website, I think it may b MMM’s website and it had details on his book. I think it’s an example of how to glue paper together and make it academically edible for any designer. In his pages you can see his work alongside the day to day of the name. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Margiela is car painted white with a paintbrush parked next to the bank of China tower. His work appears to be organic, maybe clean borderline free. If that makes any sense I do not know.

the other night i attended the independent fashion blogger’s dress up soiree. to tell you the truth, i was a bit nervous. why? because women scare me.

ESPECIALLY stylish women.

i was expecting many dirty, snobby looks, but i couldn’t have been any more wrong (<–is that even grammatically correct?!)

as vern and i walked down the catwalk to stand in an unexpected line to get in, i started getting nervous, thinking “omg, am i not properly attired? will these girls snub me? will i even belong? will they wonder ‘what the fuck is that chick doing here?’ “- shit like that.. because as i said, women scare me.

HOWEVER – the event was specTACULAR! although, i think vern and i were really the only ones TRYING to get wasted, but hey, blogger lives usually allow for little social interaction unless its purely for networking – didn’t know that huh? lol – anyway – the girls i met were fucking AWESOME and i was able to meet many of the faces behind the blogs i follow daily.

Last night I had the great opportunity to smooze it up with my fellow fashion bloggers at the Independent Fashion Blogger’s Dress Up Soiree! This is IFB’s second NYFW event and although it was a bit crowded (I don’t believe they anticipated such a HUGE turnout!) we all had a blast getting to meet each other in person – and of course show off our outfits =)

Showing up in platinum blonde hair reminds me Lady Gaga , male version of Lady Gaga featuring CL of 2NE1(I understand why his style is really similar to 2NE1 . GD is 2NE1’s stylist . No wonder) .

HEARTBREAKER is a fashion parade of galactica futuristic yet young and fun outfits and sets . Seeing some fashion items like Margiela,Jeremy Scott, Dr.Dre’s and bleach jeans? and plus , for me , the new one is the homme waist belt . Dare to wear it like GD?

The set reminds me of the spaceship in futuristic movies(Exmp.  Star Trek , Star Wars , etc. ) . Pretty fun to see him in those outfits in that futuristic set .

G-Dragon is actually a pretty nice dancer here even with not-so-catchy dance moves , fierce one eventhough he’s not handsome enough IMO  . Eccentric , one of a kind but still manly like other man . True Style icon for the eccentric ones !

Nah , about the song . It is pretty enjoyable . Well , sometimes it sounded like Flo Rida’s Right Round .  But, you can call Heartbreaker ‘the soft version of Flo Rida’s Right Round’ with Asian ElectroPop touch . So , it’s pretty different from Right Round .
