‘A State of Grace’ is a beautiful editorial by Mariano Vivanco that was published in AnOther Magazine last year. It was done with the support of Swarovski, who illuminated the shoot with their crystals. The styling is by Nicola Formichetti. The three models are Anouck Lepere, Lyoka Tyagnereva, and Katrin Thormann.

“Edge of the World” by Mariano Vivanco for Dazed & Confused, model Hilary Rhoda wears Nina Ricci and Armani. I love how surrealist and fleeting this short is…one cannot help being reminded of Maya Deren’s Meshes of the Afternoon.

Pictures photographed by Mariano Vivanco for Wonderland’s October 2010 issue… I particularly like the saturation, tones, and fashion styling in this editorial… and even though all the Megan Fox hype is out of control, I will be the first to admit I am in awe of her radiant beauty.  She is a nuance pinup- modern, sexy, fresh.  Megan Fox does not look jaded for her “rebel without a cause” reputation.  For being so sexy and “bad”, to me she seems wholesome and relatable? anyways… enjoy these memorable photographs of miss foxy herself…

I’ve only been back at the office for a day and I just cannot get it up for the products I flog. I’ve  been cruising Mariano Vivanco’s site and bouncing from his site to other sites of photographers and designers and fashionistas and colorful young people doing creative funky things, and I’m just feeling so damn deflated. I wake up, usually too early because of some or other jetlag. Acid in my throat, belly in the 2nd trimester and a sixteen year marraige snoring beside me. I then wait until 9, pull my XL clothes on and step out into the drizzly weather to catch a double-decker red bus to my grey desk (yes it’s actually grey). Perfectly matches the carpet, the mood, the weather and the work. And I sit here folding from one meeting to the next discussing strategies for packaged goods that housewives in emerging markets should buy. I know, I know, it could be a lot worse, I could be unemployed and in my pjamas at home, drooling from the mouth and unable to put food on the table. I know that I’m one of the fortunate people, I know that. And I’m thankful for it, but, well, it’s all relative isn’t it? I just wish that I could pull the wool over my own eyes. It would make things a lot easier. Because on paper the job I have and the title and package that comes with it, is perfectly respectable in the advertising world. But truth is I’m wasting my life in this grey place surrounded by these fools who still believe that a pool table and juke box is a sign of a hip agency.  It really is so terribly depressing. And I hate to whine about it, believe me it bores me more than it bores you. I did go to gym this morning and Peter – my new trainer, really worked me hard. It sorta felt good, but I def. suffered. I’m going to try and seem him everyday while I’m in London. I have to put some real energy and focus and commitment into improving this body. I really cannot stand the way I look and feel. And do you know how hard it is dressing “cool”, in XL sizes ? Prada don’t even make XL. All I can wear is James Perse. Basically pjamas. I guess it’s just so damn hard to accept that I’m now living life in the bus lane.
