As a Liberal Democrat campaigner you have to go to some local council by-election campaigns, in target seats, to support the local organisation run a winning campaign.

Such it was that I went to a meeting in Cardigan in 2002, before the Welsh Assembly election the year after. Cardigan is a main town in Ceredigion, now represented by Liberal Democrat MP, Mark Williams.

The meeting, in a pub in the middle of the town, was well attended by all the people who would have interest in the campaign, including the candidate, the agent as well as local activists.

For about an hour we discussed the situation, planning how many leaflets we would deliver, whether we could knock on all the doors, organising help from the other parts of the constituency and so on.

The candidate, who had not contested an election before, asked if there was anyway he could ‘raise his profile.’ Before I could reply that that is what we had been discussing for the past hour a member, who had not said much until that point said;

‘You could always wear a hat.’

‘A HAT!!!’ I burst out.

‘Or a broach,’ she replied in all seriousness.

I am pretty certain that he never wore a broach, but I definitely saw him in a hat during the campaign.

Darsteller: Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Jim Broadbent, David Thewlis, Warwick Davis, Richard Griffiths, Timothy Spall, Fiona Shaw, David Bradley, Julie Walters, Gemma Jones, Daniel Radcliffe, Mark Williams, Helen McCrory, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Rupert Grint, Devon Murray, James Phelps, Alfie Enoch, Jamie Waylett, Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis, Josh Herdman, Bonnie Wright, Dave Legeno, William Melling, Ralph Ineson, Natalia Tena, Katie Leung, Shefali Chowdhury, Afshan Azad, Jessie Cave, Evanna Lynch, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, Tony Coburn, Suzanne Toase, Amelda Brown, Nina Voelker, Robert Knox, Georgina Leonidas, Anna Shaffer, Tom Moorcroft, Johnpaul Castrianni, Rod Hunt, Freddie Stroma, Scarlett Byrne, Louis Cordice, Isabella Laughland, Teresa Mahoney, Frank Dillane, River George, Charlie Bennison, Dean Garnham.

Serien-Special
Sein Name ist Bauer, Jack Bauer. Die Zeit, die ihm bleibt:
Vierundzwanzig Stunden.

I don’t know how many reporters have been assigned to hop on board the Tea Party Express II an

I don’t know how many reporters have been assigned to hop on board the Tea Party Express II and cover the second coming of the cross-country tour that’s landing in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 12, but I do know this: Some news agencies are starting to pay a little more attention to the conservative movement.

Yes, it is a movement. See 70,000 or maybe closer to 1.5 million people (official numbers never given) in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 12.

While CNN is routinely included in the host of media outlets that have downplayed the “angry mob” of folks disgruntled over the current administration, they’ve done something many have not — covered some of the early Express stops, including San Diego and Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, CNN’s John King interviewed Tea Party Express Vice Chair, Mark Williams, about the “Tea Party Express II: Countdown to Judgment Day.” The Express blog posted the interview link and stated: “A relatively fair interview with CNN’s King asking questions and allowing the Tea Party Express’ Mark Williams to respond. There’s some good stuff in this interview, friends!”

Could it be that CNN hears the train a comin’ … or in this case, knows that a couple of buses filled with people making a second tour have a message that rings true with an awful lot of people? Could it be a message that more people believe in than most other media care to admit?

Related: Was it U2 or Tea Party Express II that caused LA traffic jams?

Glenn Beck said that the Nobel Peace Prize should have gone to the Tea Party protesters rather than

Glenn Beck said that the Nobel Peace Prize should have gone to the Tea Party protesters rather than Barack Obama:

I have a conservative proposal for which Tea Party protester would be most worthy of the Nobel Prize. The award should honor Tea Party protest organizer Mark Williams for his brave denunciation of Barack Obama who has “acted like” an “Indonesian Muslim” and a “Welfare Thug.”

We all know that these have not been the best of times for our “Racist-in-Chief,” as Mark Williams refers to him. After first losing the 2016 Olympics and then winning the Nobel Prize, President Obama has lost a significant amount of political capital from both of these setbacks. As Beck notes, only “Obama’s arrogance” would prevent him from declining the Nobel Peace Prize in the spirit of being “so humble, he’s Jesus.”

If Obama had donned a beret, lit up a cigarette and responded to the Nobel Committee’s decision, “Vas te faire enculi!” (a la Sartre in 1964), then Obama would have certainly acted humbly in the Christian spirit of meekness that is appropriate for an award that is so highly esteemed and revered by conservatives as the Nobel Peace Prize.

The film opened to critical acclaim and instant commercial success, breaking the records for biggest midnight opening gross of all time as well as biggest single-day worldwide gross of all time. In five days the film made $394 million, breaking the record for biggest five-day worldwide gross in history. It is also the highest-grossing film of 2009, grossing more than $930 million, which puts the film on the all-time list of 10 highest-grossing films worldwide.

It was directed by David Yates off of… well nothing I’ve seen.

Lead roles come from Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint & Emma Watson off of these indie films:

So a well respected British cast. But what to make of the film?

It was definitely better than I expected. One never really predicts that a film which is this guaranteed to make millions would need to be any good however, expectations were exceeded and the thing that primarily excited me was the visual aspect of the film.

Rolling hills in what looked like Scottish countryside, super imposed into the magic school of Hogwarts.

Fabulous white snowy scenes followed by enthralling games of Quidditch where you felt like a ball might hit you in the face.

The very first scene looked the best; as a sweeping camera quickly sped us through the streets of london, it really is stunning.

As for the script, it was nothing special. For example, the descision to give away a very necessary plot device in having a teacher ask Ron, Harry and Hermione, why it is, that “whenever anything happens, it’s always you three?” to which Ron replies; “Believe me, Professor. I’ve been asking myself that same question for the past six years.” Yes, we would be asking the same thing if we didn’t all realise, it’s a film . That annoyed me.

There was much comedy, including a very humorous bit where Ron is intoxicated by a love potion and he comments on how he thinks the moon is beautiful. Funny guy.

The acting was pretty top notch for the most part. My favourite being Sir Michael Gambon, who as usual delivered in the part of Albus Dumbledore. He’s likeable and just generally very good!

Not all of the acting was good. I was particuarly distressed by Bonnie Wright who played Ginny Weasley. I can see how they were stuck with her, having cast her for a minor role in the earlier films, not knowing she’dbe required for lead roles later on. To be quite honest she hasn’t got the right look for us to believe our protagonist would even think about wanting to be with her and quite frankly she can’t act. For what could potentially be the biggest film of the decade, the production company should have made wiser choices in ensuring their cast was perfect.

Overall this film most definitely held my interest and it looked brilliant. It made me want to watch the next one and ensured that I did not regret spending my time and money on it.

So-called “Tea Party Leader,” Mark Williams, insulted honest, red-blooded Americans who just want their Real America back by comparing them to “the hippies who wear nipple clips and feather boas in San Francisco peace demonstrations”:

I will give Mark Williams credit for not characterizing the 9/12 DC demonstration as a protest so much as a celebration of the nine-hundred & twelve Mormon principles that the Founding Fathers understood to be the cornerstones of America’s greatness and prosperity.

Finally, if it is racist for calling a man out for acting like an Indonesian,

if it is racist for calling a man out for acting like a Muslim,

if it is racist for calling a man out for acting like a Welfare Thug,

Columbia, MO – Maureen Dowd said it in her September 13 New York Times editorial. President Jimmy Carter has weighed in on the growing controversy. Now, on Anderson Cooper 360, the Tea Party Express’s lead “Teabagger” Mark Cooper has dredged the demons back from the depths.

Is the “race card,” being held over our heads like the sword of Damocles? Is America creating and encouraging a new racist mentality? Will we allow the purveyors of evil to continue to threaten what the United States has taken more than 145 years to accomplish.

I am an advocate of our First Amendment, our right to free speech and a free press, Yet these “unalienable rights” have limits. If the action of language threatens the “life, liberty or pursuit of happiness,” if the language is not just hateful but is designed to cause violence, if the language threatens our country, then that language must be the exception rather than the rule.

Is that the line Mark Williams and other members of the so-called “patriots” have crossed?

Williams was asked about comments made on his blog. Did he really call the president an “Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug” and a “Racist in Chief?” Yes, he did and admitted so on national television. Should this type of insult be protected? You bet! Has it stepped over the line? I am not sure.

This is a matter of perception. If you read Williams’ blogs and web site, you will read some very questionable stuff. His language is outrageous and using emotion with little evidence. Calling Michelle Obama “Bigfoot,” calling the Speaker of the House a Nazi and purposefully using the president’s middle name, Hussein, as a badge of terrorism cannot be stopped. Not by our laws and I hope it can never be.

When one person steps over the line, threatens to or actually causes bodily harm or destruction of property and it can be linked directly to hate speech… Pull the plug. If the language used is determined to be racist in nature… Pull the plug.

John Adam’s Sedition Act was wrong and America should never go there again. We can never again allow the suspension of Habeas Corpus as Lincoln did during the Civil war. Yet our founding fathers knew that the freedoms given to the American people, and by extension to all who visit this nation, are not absolute.

This right-wing extremism began with opposition to Strategic Arms Limitation Talks. Today it continues with opposition to a fair and free education to all. Opposition to healthcare for the greatest people on the planet. Opposition to energy independence unless it involves increasing our usage of an ever dwindling supply of crude. Opposition to anything that can talk this nation forward.

If you want to go back to the dark ages, if you want to see the People’s Republic of China, the communist one, take the lead in world economics, if you want to become a theocratic society like Iran, then follow Williams, Limbaugh, Hennessy and others soothsayers of doom.

For me, give me science and math, history and the arts, give me a future without hate and prejudice, give me the right to be who I am, what I am and who I want to be without having to be beholding to your version of the truth or religion. That is the American I want. How about you?

Mark Williams is talking to the right-wing extreme who has continue to voice their hatred towards the President Of The United States. Republicans continue to vilify President Obama as a socialist and wants to takeover our Country. The Republican Party has continue to wage their assault against Health-Care Reform. The Republicans has continue to voice their opinion, but when the Media talks about them they try to make themselves out as the victim.

By ASHLEY BROWNE Shaun Burgoyne might want to start working out which of his clothes works best in b

By ASHLEY BROWNE

Shaun Burgoyne might want to start working out which of his clothes works best in brown and gold. And he may want to start looking for plush housing somewhere in Melbourne’s southeast.

Because he is on his way to Hawthorn.

Reports on Wednesday suggest that the Port Adelaide star has nominated Melbourne, Essendon and the Hawks as his three preferred options for a trade.

It was a nice tactic by the Burgoyne camp, led by his manager and former Big Brother winner Ben Williams, to put that information out there for public consumption, but there is no way he will be playing for Melbourne because they won’t be able to make the deal.

The Dees hold the first two picks at November’s AFL draft, neither of which they would trade for Burgoyne. Their second round pick wouldn’t be enough. They also have the first pick at the preseason draft, but you’d have to think that Port Adelaide is in a different situation to the time in 2004 they let Nick Stevens walk to Carlton for nothing, and therefore more willing to reach for a trade. Mark Williams might be stubborn, but we don’t think he’s stupid.

Back to the national draft. Hawthorn comes in at pick nine, followed by the Bombers with pick 10, which gives the Hawks the slight upper hand. In a nice piece of irony, Matthew Lloyd’s hit on Brad Sewell, which helped the Bombers clinch the round 22 finals decider, now gives the Hawks the edge in the dealings for Burgoyne.

The bulletin boards suggest the deal between the Hawks and Port is already well down the path towards being completed. Indeed, talks between the Hawks and Burgoyne’s management began earlier in the year and probably explains why Williams lobbied hard, but unsuccessfully, for Burgoyne to be his captain this year.

The wild card in all of this however, might be Andrew Lovett. If the Dons are prepared to bundle the talented but inconsistent speedster along with the 10th selection in November, Port might be tempted to do the deal.

That might leave the Hawks having to offer pick 9 and a premiership player in order to trump what the Dons put on the table.

But for now, with Hawk list manager Chris Pelchen having already made clear that pick 9 is available, it would be safe to bet that Burgoyne will become the latest member of the Port Adelaide diaspora to find a new home at Waverley Park.

Anderson Cooper had tea party organizer Mark Williams as a panel member on AC360 on Monday night. Williams denounced those carrying blatantly racist signs against President Obama during the tea parties as “no more part of the mainstream of America than the hippies who wear nipple clips and feather boas in San Francisco streets during so-called peace demonstrations.”

Williams tried his best to act as if this ‘movement’ is nothing more than Americans upset about paying taxes and big government, but Anderson Cooper must have done some research. Maybe it was Anderson’s way of undoing some of the free publicity CNN gave the Teabaggers over last weekend.

Cooper was quick to remind Williams that his own statements and posts on his blog don’t support his statements, “What you’re saying makes sense to me here when I’m hearing what you say but then I read on your blog, you say, you call the President an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief.”

Williams shrugs and responds, “Yeah, that’s the way he’s behaving.”

Cooper asks Williams if he really believes Obama is an Indonesian Muslim and a welfare thug. The tea party leader digs the hole a little deeper: “He’s certainly acting like it. Until he embraces the whole country what else can I conclude.”

Until he embraces the country? What is this guy on? Where has he been? We have a President that is trying every single thing possible to address the poverty, joblessness, excessive corporate greed, lack of decent healthcare, and so on and he doesn’t embrace Americans?

Well, then what do these teabaggers suppose he do to show he really cares about Americans? I know, maybe he could start a bogus war and send all the Children of the Teabag off to war? Maybe he could start spying on our phone calls and reading our mail again? Maybe he could violate the constitution? Maybe he could some CIA agents? Maybe he could take more vacations? Maybe he could tell Americans and Congress he just doesn’t care what they think or how they feel because he’s The Decider. Then maybe, just maybe the teabaggers would feel he’s finally embraced the country?

Nope no racism here

Mr. Mark Williams must think because he, Dick Armey and <del datetime="2009-09-16T01:31:47+00:00">Freedom Works </del>Lobbyists have convinced 60,000 racist tools to work against their own best interests while helping the very people who want to destroy their Medicare and Social Security that so many depend on, that he could somehow convince the viewers of AC360 to do the same.
