Crosby’s pretty lethal against his Dad’s team. I’m not dropping the Habs-o-meter on this game as it was at the tail end of a strong sprint, the second of back-to-back games, and the injury story for the Habs is getting so ridiculous I think the 3-1 loss is fine. Especially when Fleury *robbed* O’Byrne of a goal that would have changed the story somewhat.

Nice to see Pacioretty getting a little more comfortable on the ice. Also read (dreamt?) that Markov is back on skates and suggesting he could possibly be back before the New Year. If this line-up gets healthy and keeps building on the second half of October, we could be in good shape down the stretch. Plus, I think it’s time to trade Halak plus change for a top-six. There. I said it.

The NHL is now three weeks into the regular season and the Montreal Canadiens are struggling to get points on the board.  It is the summer acquistions who are scoring for the Habs, especially Gionta.  If you remember in one of my previous posts I was very critical of some of these trades, and well I still stand by them.  While Gionta is a surprise for me, the others I believe they look good because the rest of the team is just standing there waiting for good things to happen to them.  I will call for it again, and I am starting to see more people join my point of view, it’s time for Bob Gainey to step aside as he’s managment of this team is getting worse by the game.

The Habs seem to have a decent defense system in place, but the forwards are not shooting the puck effective to put goals on net.  The way this season is going, Habs fan need to understand we are going to go through a re-structuring of the team and there will be no Stanley cup for the next five years for sure.

By the way, we need Markov back from injury if we want a chance to at least look decent within the league.

Bonjour a tous!  C’est avec grand plaisir que je lance mon blog sur le CH.   Je ne suis pas un journaliste ou bien commentateur.  Je suis un partisan avec de nombreuses opinions sur les Canadiens et le monde du hockey.

Êtes-vous vraiment surpris des résultats du voyage dans l’ouest?  Moi je ne le suis pas.  J’habite présentent dans la région de Vancouver et je n’ai jamais pensé à aller voir le match.  Je savais que ça ne serait pas une belle soirée.  Hier, nous joué un très bon match à mon avis.  Nikolai Khabibulin était en grande forme et nous aurions facilement pus remporter la partie si il avait eu une soirée ordinaire.

Brian Gionta

Quand allons nous donner le C à Brian Gionta?  Il est évident qu’il est le joueurs avec le plus de caractère et un leader sur la patinoire.  Chaque fois que je le vois sur la glace je suis impressionné.

Scott Gomez

Gomez et Gionta forme un duo d’enfer.  J’ai l’impression qu’ils auront une saison d’enfer.  Gomez aura dans les 80pts et Gionta près de 40 buts.  Cammalleri aura aussi un impact certain sur l’équipe.  Il n’aura évidemment pas le nombre de but qu’il a eu a Calgary, mais il est un excellent fabriquant de jeu.  Une saison dans les alentours de 80pts.

La perte de Markov est énorme et fera très mal.  Ça me fait un peu penser a ce qui est arrivé la saison dernière avec Gonchar des Pens.  Les Pens en ont souffert grandement et n’ont pas eu beaucoup de succès durant sa longue absence.  La signature de M-A Bergeron aura en effet positif.

Voici les faits saillants du match d’hier

I have done something that I haven’t done in a long while – I watched my favorite hockey team play play against the Toronto Maple Leafs. If you haven’t figured it out, my team is the Montreal Canadiens, who at times I call as  a term of endearment; the Habs.  Watching all but 20 minutes it is obvious the Habs are lacking a strong defense once again but somehow managed to win against a team which out played them.  This is going to be a long season for us Habs fans.  Losing Markov is a big blow to the team, and let me say with hope of this team proving me wrong – we will not be seeing a game post season this year.

My opinion of the Leafs, a team I like to call the make-me-laffs is well they have huge potential and do have a serious run to clenching a play off spot this year.  The speed and agility of this new young and motivated team is a start in the right direction for Toronto.  Will they win the cup this year?  Keep dreaming folks, their weakness continues to be Toskala and his goaltending.  You can make excuses all you want but he doesn’t deserve starting goalie position and is questionable as a backup.

It’s only the first night but both teams have a long way to go.
