Köp Metallica – Master of puppets.

La mayoría de los fans antiguos de la banda, opinan que está se vendió por dejar de hacer thrash metal (su género inicial) para comercializarse. Muchos de los fans nuevos comenzaron escuchando la banda por discos como “Load” “Reload” “St. Anger” o el famoso “Black album“.

Metallica: ¿Paso a ser una banda comercial?

Para mi Metallica siempre fue una banda comercial, si no lo fuera, no hubiera sacado sus discos a la venta. Si hicieron música y publicaron sus discos, lo hicieron para vender, porque si quisieran hacer música “por amor al arte” no publicarían sus discos en venta.

Ahora, pónganse en su lugar. Si a ustedes les darían la posibilidad de ganar más dinero cambiando su estilo de música para que le llegue mas a la gente. ¿Qué harían?, no creo que digan que no tan fácilmente.

Las bandas no viven de sus fans, viven del dinero que les traen. Y ese modelo de banda de metal que da todo por sus fans y no le importa el dinero, no existe.

No estoy defendiendo a Metallica, y a pesar de que yo también soy un fan que no le gusto muchas de las cosas que hicieron, los entiendo.

Antes y después…

Algunos dicen que Metallica murió en “…And justice for all“, otros dicen que murió en el “Black album“.

En mi opinión, los primeros 4 discos de Metallica fueron excelentes, luego llego el “Black album” y también, me pareció un excelente disco, pero distinto a los demás.

Luego cayeron una ola de discos que no parecía que fuese Metallica, pero en fin, puedo escuchar una canción de “Load” o “Reload” sin pensar “¡Que ~#@|@ es esto!“, a pesar de que no era eso lo que queríamos, no podemos decir que es malo!.

El “St. Anger” no me gusto para nada y me parece que musicalmente es muy malo, puro ruido (en mi opinión).

Por último vino el “Death Magnetic” que a mi parecer, es thrash y el mejor álbum después del “Black Album“. ¿Habrá sido un intento por recuperar los fans viejos perdidos? Tal vez.

Lo cierto es que Metallica me sigue gustando y los primeros discos que sacaron siguen estando y los podemos seguir escuchando.

Nadie nos obliga a escuchar el “St. Anger“, aunque entiendo la decepción de los demás fans.

Recomendacion inmediata!

Terceiro álbum do Metallica, e um dos melhores na minha opinião.É o álbum que não dá para largar de jeito nenhum.
Segundo a lenda viva do metal, Ozzy Osbourne, Master of Puppets é o que se fez de melhor na história do Heavy Metal. Outros destaques são “Disposable Heroes”, “Leper Messiah”, “Damage Inc.”, “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”(uma “balada”), e “Orion”.

I’d like to remind Uncle Reg, even though he is anti-metal, Metallica was a band with real substance in their music. They didn’t have to do covers and sound like rednecks to be listenable once upon a time. Let me point you to 1986*:

When I first got into good music (ie anything but pop/radio crap), Metallica was the first band I was turned on to. This was in 1988 and their album …And Justice For All had just come out. Combined with 1985’s Master of Puppets, we listened to Metallica more than any other band, later being turned on to Ride the Lightning and Kill em All. In 1991, their self-titled (or Black) album was released, and this seemed to have a splitting effect on their fans. Folks like me who were expecting the longer, more-complex songs of three years before were somewhat disappointed with Metallica’s ‘new direction’. They seemed to me to have given into superstardom and had decided to take the easy way – James’s ’singing’ lacked it’s raw energy and now included plenty of ‘yeahs’. Overall, especially compared to the vast array of easy, uninspired, common, formulaic music out there in the mainstream, Metallica’s worst albums are still pretty great.

I didn’t pay much attention to Metallica after 1991. I heard a couple of songs on the radio from their future albums, and can even recognize a couple as listenable. Metallica’s 2003 album St. Anger was especially disappointing with Lars’s distinctly terrible snare sound; it literally sounds like a mistake – for the entire album. Jason Newsted left and did that ridiculous show Rock Star Supernova (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Star_Supernova) (which I didn’t watch), but was replaced by ex-Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo in 2003.

When Death Magnetic was released in 2008, I didn’t pay much attention, but within a month or two more than one of my buddies mentioned that it was actually pretty damn good. Further, after making something of a bad name for themselves years back with the whole ‘music downloading’ thing, it was amazing that Metallica made the entire album streamable from the web site. Lars ‘fixed’ his snare sound, and as a whole the album seemed a lot more like what they’d gotten away from so many years ago. The songs were longer (in fact, only three of the ten tracks are less than 7 minutes, with none shorter than five), more intricate, and many have long, varying jam-like bridges or outros that simply rock!

I haven’t seen Metallica before, but in my eyes their new album had redeemed them, so when the World Magnetic tour tickets went on sale in my area I decided I was going. Tickets were about $80 but we ended up with pretty good seats. October 1, 2009 came and we drove to the Bank Atlantic center in Sunrise (Florida). Another $20 to park (what a racket!), but we got there early enough to enjoy a few beers in the parking lot before heading to the door. We’d already missed the first opening band (Gojira) and heard the lines to get into the arena were massive due to ‘heightened security’. After about a half hour of waiting, the security included emptying pockets, removing belts, and walking though a metal detector. By that time we’d missed the second opener too (Lamb of God), but we didn’t mind.

Metallica started around 9pm and proceeded to rock a host of new songs from Death Magnetic, as well as plenty of older tunes for over two hours. They played from a stage in the center and used microphones all around to keep mobile and play to the entire audience. The sounds was great and they put on one hell of a show. I got to hear lots of my older favorites including One, Master of Puppets, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Damage Inc, and my all-time favorite (which I later read they hadn’t played in the US since 1997), Shortest Straw.

I’d taken a look at a wiki-like site that sports the set lists from shows so I had an idea of how their stuff would go – there were some consistent songs and some they’d mix up from show to show. They seemed to always do at least one cover as their first ‘encore’ song which I looked forward to. Sadly though, for Fort Lauderdale they chose the song Killing Time by Sweet Savage which has been one of my less-favorite Metallica covers – oh well. Overall they play 18 songs, which you can check out. We bailed during the last part of the last song which let us get to the car and get out of the parking lot before it became a madhouse. All in all, Metallica put on a great show and if you’re even remotely a fan, either old or new, I’d recommend seeing them.

Z Metallicą nagrywał w najlepszym okresie zespołu, a więc w thrashowych latach 80-tych. Na jego konto weszły łącznie trzy LP: Kill’ Em All, Ride The Lightning i Master Of Puppets oraz całe mnóstwo zagranych koncertów i tona inspiracji dla młodych basistów.

Jestem zdania, że gdyby na …And Justice For All, wydanym rok po śmierci Burtona, pojawiły się linie basowe Cliffa byłby to najlepszy thrashowy album wszechczasów.

There are legends, there are myths and then there is Jason Statham.

The star of action franchises like The Transporter and Crank appears to be an invincible powerhouse of tenacity, brute strength and homoerotic machismo that could fuel 10 Top Gun movies. Most people know of him as an actor, former footballer and a man’s man. There is, however, more. Much more, in fact.

Arnold starts to say “I’ll be ba…” but is interrupted by Statham kicking his head off. Peace reigns supreme once more. Statham then rewards the world by inviting everyone to watch him banging Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz at the Colosseum, using the U.S. Constitution as a condom.

Statham brings his influence to Washington D.C., taking over the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches by punching every single person in government once, causing simultaneous explosions. He then names the branches Statham, Statham and Statham, names Washington D.C. into Statham, District of Cock-Knocking and reforms the Washington Monument into the shape of his penis (adding material to it, of course).

He also simplifies the lyrics of the national anthem by replacing every couplet with “STATHAM! STATHAM!”, with the music simply being the main riff of “Master of Puppets” over and over again. Do napisania tego posta natchnęła mnie napinka z fanem Slipknota na pewnym forum internetowym, który to twierdził iż Slipknot muzycznie jest traktowany na równi z Metallicą.
To zdanie uderzyło we mnie jak piorun w drzewo ! Kimże jest ów user, że śmie podważać święte imię Metalliki na rzecz zamaskowanych nu-metalowców, którzy są okropnie untró ?!
Porównywanie jakiegoś komercyjnego shitu, do zespołu który niemal stworzył thrash metal, jest muzyczną zbrodnią. Metallica to najbardziej rozpoznawalny zespół na świecie, który w dodatku gra świetną muzykę, a ze swoim przesłaniem chce dotrzeć do szerszej grupy słuchaczy.
A Slipknot ? Oprócz deathmetalowego bełkotu wydobyłem jedynie “And the rain will kill us all, throw ourselves against the wall…” Jaki w tym sens ? Przenośnia ? Jeśli macie pomysł czego przenośnią może być podany wyżej fragment, napiszcie w komentarzu

This is ma fav band. Metallica is an american heavy metal band formed in the year 1981. Lars Ulrich is the founder of Metallica, he posted an advert in a local newspaper. Metallica’s line up was Rythm Guitarist and Vocals, James Hetfield, Lead Guitarist, Kirk Hammett, Bassist, Cliff Burton [ Earlier ] and now the Bassist is, Robert Trujillo, and last but not least the Drummer, Lars Ulrich. Metallica’s main genre is Metal or Heavy Metal. Ma fav song of them is a classic song, Master Of Puppets. And I even know how to play it on ma guitar, except for the last solo as i’m currently learning the solo. Metallica’s latest album was Death Magnetic. Ma fav from that album is, The Day That Never Comes. It’s a kewl song. Well anyways, it’s all about Metallica in today’s post. So I hope you all listen to this band’s music. Eis aí um disco coletânea dedicado a aqueles que não tem nada do Metallica ou que só quer a nata do grupo, ou melhor, os hits.

Muita coisa boa ficou de fora mas o CD com Master of puppets, Metal Militia e  Sad but true não pode ser considerado ruim, o álbum só é desinteressante para os que já possuem a discografia (ou o primeiro e o segundo disco) mas é altamente recomendado aos interessados pela banda que não conhecem nada ou só algumas músicas e para as novas gerações (este ultimo precisa MUITO deste disco).

Hace aproximadamente un año que colgué éste vídeo en YouTube y hoy tiene casi 30.000 visitas, ¡casi nada!:

Como muchos sabréis, hace un par de días que llegué de Lisboa, después de cinco días de estancia en la capital portuguesa para acudir al Optimus Alive 09. Nada más y nada menos que Mastodon, Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Slipknot, y Metallica, se juntaban el jueves día 9 de julio para dar uno de los mayores recitales que he visto nunca, en un concierto que superó altamente mis expectativas.

Huelga decir que Mastodon hicieron lo que sabían (tampoco me vuelven loco), Lamb Of God se marcaron un conciertazo del 7, del que todavía tengo la espalda marcada, y Machine Head, pese a no hacer un mal concierto, me aburrieron un poco. Fue con la salida de Slipknot cuando el concierto se tornó una auténtica maravilla, con una actuación de Corey Taylor realmente inspirada y a la altura de las circunstancias.
