Obviously we were beat by a bunch of twelve year olds who have been playing the game since it came out. We also don’t know the maps and were being hit from key angles to be destroyed. Okay, since when has Deft 4 Lead / G I Joe Momma not chalked up a loss. Let’s not get discouraged just because we were beat.

We need to play the campaign and pub matches so that we can learn these spots… C’mon queers! We are better than most teams out there and can only get better by playing the maps.

We are officialy 0 – 1  as the “A” team. We were Left 4 Dead and left to drown in the flooding town of “Hard Rain.”

Sometimes I wonder what other women are like on first dates and if they take the online dating thing more seriously than I do. Last night I had the pleasure of observing this first-hand.

I was sitting by myself at a candle-lit restaurant in Soho waiting for a friend who was running late. The Mexican waiter who had a mountain of grease infested hair on his head, kept giving me the eye and would wink at me every time he passed by. He offered me a drink “on the house”…and I foolishly accepted, which basically was like inviting him to pester me all night. I should’ve known better given my experience at the age of 13 with a similar Mexican waiter named Moses, who at the time told my mom he would one day marry me and asked her to never let me wear lipstick in front of the boys at my school. Gross.

As I sat there, quietly sipping on my cocktail, I was shaken up by a gruesome gurgling and high pitched sound coming from the table next to me. “Ahhh hahahahahahahhaha gaaaa ahahaha!!” Alarmed, I turned to discover the source of this horrendous laugh. She was a pale redhead with freckles around the age of 35. When this unattractive lady wasn’t laughing, she would just have an awkward worried expression on her face. There was a stench in the air…it was her desperateness.

Her date was at least five years younger than her, and would smile in embarrassment every time she’d let out the laugh. She not only had the most annoying laugh I had ever heard, but pink blotches started appearing around her neck and chest. Great, I thought…she is clearly breaking out in hives on what seems to be a first date.

However, the hives didn’t stop her from saying what no woman should EVER say on any date, “Yeah Josh, I’ve been on Match.com for about two years now. I was seeing this guy I met on the site and I really liked him…and then he just disappeared. I was heartbroken. I hope you’re not like that. I really want to find that special someone.” The poor dude shifted in his chair and let out a cough. He needed saving.

Then she smiled and leaned in closer to him and asked, “You won’t just disappear on me, right?” I watched in terror as she broke out in more hives. Was this woman out of her mind?! I started fantasizing about starting a 101 dating course for inept women like her or just about how maybe all women like her should be banned from ever having an internet connection. Imagine all those poor guys who would be saved…

‘Josh,’ who I could tell was uncomfortable with having this crazy bitch so close to his face, leaned back in his chair and answered, “Don’t worry about that.”

“Well good, now that that’s settled!” she let out the loudest gurgle laugh again.

But her verbal diarrhea continued. “Ya know, I’ve been thinking of buying a dog, unless I meet someone on Match soon. I think a pet would make it less lonely, don’t you think? I would probably have to get a dog walker during the day though.” I wanted to yell at her date and tell him to LEAVE. What the fuck was he sticking around for?! To make matters worse they were only on the first course and she was too distracted by his presence to even focus on eating her appetizer.

The whole thing was making me nervous, and I wasn’t even the poor fool on the date with her. My friend finally arrived and I got to tune out for a while. When ‘Josh’ was getting the check, I glanced over and noticed that Ms. My Desperateness Gives Me Hives was visibly drunk. Her laugh kept bouncing off the walls and now she was trying to get him to go home with her…hives and all. He told her he had to run to meet a friend but that he would call her. “AHhhhh gagagaga hahahahaha, you BETTER call me!” Then her laughing stopped and the worried face was back, “You probably won’t call…”

Bottom line: some people are just inept daters and they don’t know it. Just sucks for the rest of us who ever have to get stuck on a date with them.

À leur arrivée à l’aéroport Houari Boumediène

C’est la délivrance pour ces dizaines d’étudiants algériens résidant en Égypte. Terrorisés par la haine de l’Algérien qui s’est déchaînée au pays des pharaons, ils sont contraints de retourner au pays. A l’aéroport du Caire, ils subissent les pires humiliations. Il est 21h 30 lorsque le Boeing d’Air Algérie, en provenance du Caire, atterrit à l’aéroport international d’Alger. Tous les passagers, une centaine, en majorité des étudiants, ont fui dans la précipitation l’Egypte. Certains, dès leur arrivée, éclatent en sanglots, d’autres encore sous le choc se murent dans un silence éloquent. Tous ont subi les pires humiliations à l’aéroport du Caire, juste parce qu’ils sont Algériens. Les hommes sont déshabillés et laissés debout pendant de longues minutes, les femmes « tripotées » à plusieurs reprises et leurs sacs vidés par des policiers en rage de l’Algérien et les bagages abandonnés sur le tarmac obligeant les passagers à les transporter jusqu’à la soute.

Aucune distinction entre les femmes, les enfants ou les familles des diplomates, censées jouir de l’immunité. Des récits choquants et désolants qui donnent froid dans le dos et suscitent de l’inquiétude pour ceux qui sont encore bloqués dans de nombreuses villes égyptiennes et n’ont pas eu la chance de trouver une place sur les vols d’Air Algérie. Aïcha est étudiante en droit. Elle prépare depuis deux ans un magister en droit international au Caire. Elle jure de ne plus retourner là où elle pensait être chez elle. « Ils jurent tous de tabasser tout Algérien qu’ils trouveront sur leur route. J’étais au marché lorsqu’un groupe d’Egyptiens m’a interpellée. Je me suis enfuie la première fois. La seconde fois, j’étais avec une amie dans un salon de thé et le serveur m’a chassée des lieux. Le propriétaire du magasin d’à côté qui me considérait comme une bonne cliente est venu me dire de ne plus remettre les pieds chez lui, en me menaçant de mort. La propriétaire de la maison que je louais est venue me dire après deux années d’une relation plus qu’amicale, de lui remettre les clés. La haine de l’Algérien s’est vite répandue. J’avais peur de parler et d’être reconnue à mon accent. Je ne pouvais plus vivre dans un tel climat », dit-elle, les larmes aux yeux. Malika est dans la même situation. La gorge nouée, cette étudiante du centre de recherche et d’étude arabe raconte comment après le cauchemar qu’elle a vécu depuis le premier match au Caire, les humiliations se sont poursuivies à l’aéroport. « Ils nous ont parqué dans une salle et laissé pendant des heures, avant de procéder à deux reprises à une fouille corporelle. Aucun respect pour les femmes et les enfants. Ils nous parlaient avec haine. Mon sac a été vidé et même les tubes de dentifrice et de fond de teint. Ils m’ont pris mon parfum et mon déodorant et je passe sur les réflexions déplacées qu’ils nous lançaient. Ils voulaient à tout prix exprimer leur haine à notre égard », raconte Malika, avant de conclure : « Jamais je ne retournerai là-bas même s’ils me coupent les jambes. » Saïda fait partie d’un groupe d’une dizaine d’Algériens envoyés pour un stage de formation d’un mois. Selon elle, les vexations ont commencé dès le premier match joué au Caire, le 14 novembre. « Nous sommes arrivés le 2 novembre au Caire et tout s’est bien passé. Nous étions très bien considérés jusqu’à ce match du 14 novembre. Depuis, nous étions escortés à chaque fois par la police du tourisme. La situation s’est aggravée au point où notre escorte nous a déconseillé de parler ou de nous déplacer seuls. C’était invivable. Nous n’étions en sécurité nulle part. Nous ne pouvions pas continuer à suivre notre formation dans de telles conditions », souligne-t-elle. Samer est un médecin syrien, qui vit en Algérie et qui était en déplacement en Egypte, est la victime collatérale. Tout comme les Algériens, il dit avoir été humilié à l’aéroport du Caire, tout juste parce qu’il prenait le vol d’Air Algérie. « Ils m’ont fouillé à deux reprises avec la manière la plus indigne. Je ne pouvais supporter cet affront. Je me suis senti comme un délinquant. J’étais tellement en colère qu’une fois entré dans la salle d’embarquement j’ai crié de toutes mes forces, One two three viva l’Algérie, juste pour les narguer. » Ahmed est avec sa femme et ses deux enfants. Il rentre définitivement après un séjour de plusieurs années en Egypte. Il travaillait dans une compagnie pétrolière. Son contrat est arrivé à terme, mais il a refusé de le reconduire. Le climat, dit-il, n’est plus le même. Il est devenu dangereux pour les Algériens. Sa femme raconte son calvaire dans les marchés, les rues, les magasins et même dans l’immeuble où elle dit avoir vécu de bons moments avec ses voisins, devenus aujourd’hui ses pires ennemis.

Didier Deschamps a remporté, avec son équipe, son premier “clasico” . Une victoire face au PSG (1-0) qui satisfait le coach marseillais. Didier Deschamps peut souffler un peu: « L’essentiel est là avec les trois points. Moi, si on gagne 1-0 à chaque fois, je suis content. C’était un match compliqué avec de la tension en fin de match et de la fatigue aussi. On va savourer car on recolle. Notre place au classement est plus intéressante.» Il  a reconnu après le match qu’il avait observé beaucoup de points positifs et une réelle évolution. « Notre début de match a été très bon. On a pris la partie par le bon bout, avec une bonne maîtrise. Après, avec un seul but d’avance, on n’a jamais vraiment été à l’abri même si on a eu des occasions. Il y a eu de la fébrilité de notre part dans le dernier quart d’heure sans risquer grand-chose. Les Parisiens ne nous ont pas mis beaucoup en difficulté. .»

As if my platonic problems couldn’t get weirder…

I think he still believes it was a mutual thing. He probably tells his friends, “Well, we didn’t really break up. We just both aren’t really ready. Plus I’m sooo busy.” Oh please.

I’m fine with being friends. He’s much easier to handle. Now I can endlessly banter while “It’s Always Sunny” is on and I don’t have to plate his food. I can tell him in all honesty that he wants a 1950s housewife and he can laugh. He got drunk the other night and texted me — “I think you’re a great girl. I’d like to keep dating you.”
Um, nice one. I mean, I’m totally in love with you so just say the word and I’ll jump in the wagon. Buddy– I DUMPED YOU. Would you like me to order a fancy stamp and punch you in the forehead? Jesus.

I texted him back and it felt so good. “I’d like to be friends”.

The next morning he pleads the fifth. Of course, he thinks the ball’s in his court. I also mentioned this since my newfound bluntness is oddly exhilarating, “So you think you can just TELL me to date you, eh? I think you’re supposed to ask a girl.” He finds this amusing and tries to weasel out of his faux-pas but whatever.

We play scrabble via iPhone app everyday. It’s kinda creepy. He also has started to be oddly fascinated by who I am, as a person. GASP. He asks me questions like, do you sew?… do you want a pet? …Why don’t you like [token indie band]?

What I’ve realized about myself in this incredibly confusing and depressing process we call dating, is that we don’t spend enough time getting to know each other. If I have to be romantic on the first date, it’s so much pressure! It’s gonna be years before you see me air guitar or put straws in my nose — common occurrences for many of my friends. Whatever happened to courtship?

I’ve decided to stop dating for now and to stop building this wall. All women have this idea about how we have to be to date. We can’t be overbearing or too invested. We must be confident and sexual. However, we can’t date other people, then we’re sluts. And we can’t be too shy, then we’re just boring.

We’re not allowed to fall in love.

I’m sick of dumbing myself down or being belittled. Fix your own damn plate, I’m gonna go sing to some Britney. Yeah I said it, Britney Spears.

Liverpool FC have beat Debrecen in the Champions League, in an average performance for The Reds. The main point is they won, but Liverpool could have played better. But the thing you’ll be more bothered about is getting through to the knockout stages. We didn’t make it, so we just have to try and look forward to playing in the Europa League.

Liverpool took the lead in the 4th minute, through David N’gog, scoring from close range. From then up to half time, it was all Liverpool. Debrecen were playing poorley, allowing Liverpool to push, and Liverpool had numerous chances, but didn’t take them. N’gog also was slightly injured about half way through the first half, but he seemed to be okay. At Half time Liverpool were leading away from home by one goal to nil.

In the second half, it was slightly more Debrecen, but Liverpool were still dominating. Liverpool had more chances they didn’t take, including Dirk Kuyt heading wide. Debrecen had chances to score, and Rudolph had a great shot on goal which Pepe Reina had to make a great save. In stoppage time Debrecen had a brilliant chance, but once again couldn’t take it. About midway through the second half Benayoun came on for N’gog, and Aquilani only played 90 seconds, something Liverpool fans won’t be happy about.

But wether we won 1-0 or 100-0 it wouldn’t of made a difference. Fiorentina won the match against Lyon thanks to a first half penalty. The only thing we can now do is look forward to the Europa League. It should be easier than the Champions League, so it’s a chance to win some silverware this season.

Final Score: Debrecen 0-1 Liverpool.

Les actes hostiles contre l’Algérie se poursuivent

Les médias étrangers, notamment arabes, hormis ceux d’Egypte qui poursuivent leur campagne médiatique contre l’Algérie, reviennent peu à peu à l’objectivité dans le traitement de la crise entre l’Egypte et l’Algérie.

Après avoir adopté une position mi-figue, mi-raisin, et tenté d’adopter une ligne médiane, peu de télévisions et journaux continuent d’aborder le sujet de la discorde, ce qui augure une baisse de tension entre les deux pays. Ce ton conciliant, mettant en exergue «les relations fraternelles et les liens du sang», fait suite à la polémique que la partie égyptienne, par le biais de sa machine de guerre, voulait entretenir sciemment aux fins de nuire à l’image de l’Algérie, la désignant comme coupable des incidents ayant eu lieu avant et après les matches de qualification à la Coupe du mode de 2010. Tout cela, bien sûr, pour avoir osé remettre en cause le leadership arabe de l’Egypte, y compris en football. Dans la guerre médiatique contre l’Algérie que «nos frères» du Nil ont voulu totale et sans merci en essayant même de monter l’opinion internationale contre les supporters des Verts, les médias internationaux ont, au contraire, démontré les vrais enjeux de cette mascarade politico-médiatique du régime de Moubarak. Pour des tribuns, qui ont mis de l’eau dans leur vin, il est clair qu’il s’agit d’une tentative de récupérer les dividendes d’une campagne sous le couvert du «recouvrement de la dignité» qui servirait en fait à lancer le fils aîné de Moubarak sur la voie de la présidentielle de 2011. Aussi, dès le début de la mise en branle de la machine médiatique «pharaonique» -dont elle se réclame- son desiderata s’en est trouvé contrarié par les médias de plusieurs pays qui ont
relaté les faits, notamment le «callaissage» du bus de l’EN algérienne. Le mérite revient en fait, dans une grande proportion, au professionnalisme de ces médias, mais aussi à une diaspora algérienne qui n’a jamais coupé le cordon ombilical avec la mère patrie. Il y a de quoi susciter le courroux de leurs confrères égyptiens, qui ont dénoncé ce qu’ils considèrent être un «parti pris» des médias étrangers, dans le traitement de l’information se rapportant aux incidents entre supporters des deux pays. La chaîne qatarie, Al Jazeera, est particulièrement mise dans le collimateur. Les Egyptiens ne lui pardonneraient jamais d’avoir diffusé l’image de l’attaque. Elle a beau donner la parole aux Egyptiens, le «mal» est déjà fait. Mais le plus grand coup est venu de sa filiale Al Jazzera sport, avec son présentateur vedette Hafid Derradji, qui a pris cause et fait pour l’Algérie. Et la liste n’est pas finie, car, nonobstant le reportage de Canal+, qui constitue la preuve palpable de l’agression subie par les «Fennecs», la chaîne marocaine Medi1 et la tunisienne Nessma ont apporté un soutien inestimable à l’Algérie, pour contrer la campagne de dénigrement, battant en brèche les allégations mensongères des Egyptiens. Des journaux de l’émigration arabe basée à Londres ont, de leur côté, réservés leurs commentaires à ces événements, déplorant le discours belliqueux et sécessionniste des
responsables politiques et des médias égyptiens qui veulent isoler l’Egypte. L’éditorialiste d’Al Quds Al Arabi écrit que, dans tous les journaux et agences arabes et étrangers, il n’y avait pas les victimes égyptiennes dont ont parlé longuement les artistes de ce pays d’une manière provocatrice, -pas plus de
trois-, pour le rapatriement desquelles les autorités ont envoyé un jet privé. Leurs blessures étaient légères et ont quitté l’hôpital le jour même après avoir reçu des soins. Et de s’interroger : «Depuis quand les autorités égyptiennes ont-elles envoyé des avions spéciaux pour le transport de blessés à intérieur de l’Égypte ou à l’étranger ?»

I had been to the bars, the clubs and even the church. The women at the bars and clubs were a little too wild and wacky for me and the women at the church were a little too serious. I might be one of the few men in the world where personality really is more important to me than looks. I figured this would make things easier in my life, but it has actually had the exact opposite effect. I heared Plenty of Fish before I never thought I would try an online dating site, but with everything else failing, I figured why not.

When I first came across Luw.me, I wasn’t really sure how it worked. They said they searched other dating sites for matches for you yet you communicated with matches on their site. It was a little confusing and I didn’t really know what I was doing, but since the first ten days were free, I figured I’d roll the dice. I filled out my information and waited, hoping there would be someone, but not expecting much.

A few days later there was a match. What I didn’t expect was for her to be pretty. I usually don’t look for Barbies. But … she did turn out to have some personality as well. It has only been two weeks, but we’ve been having some great video chats. She seems really nice and has similar interests as me, the most important being hiking. If I have to pay a small fee to www.luw.me to continue our relationship, I’ll do that without concern. I’d actually pay anything for the perfect girl, but getting the discount is still nice.
