Voldemārs Johansons - Aero Torrents (Installation, 2007)
The installation is a waveform sculpture projected on the surface of water by sonic vibration. As a commentary on the process of climate change, the wave patterns are derived from meteorological data acquired during extreme storms of recent years in Europe. The combination of three materials: air, water and sound simulate a chaotic ecosystem where recorded wind intensity and direction patterns are transferred by waves of sound.

Maija Kurševa – My Friday (Installation, video 2008)
Waves rise with a light tinkle. Initially small, they get bigger. Bring up to ceiling where the head is crashed against glass. In the morning it is clear there has been a storm in the room, as bottles with messages are silted by the feet.

Linards Kulless (Installation, 2008)
He has created this work specially for this occasion. It’s a decorative installation that conceptually interprets various connotations which are encoded in the name of this exhibition — Fluid States.

The work in the show is a 4 meter high blow up cut and paste mixture of old pin ups and other found materials like old sheet music, Chinese papers, stamps and old money all washed together with digital design. Also in the show blow ups of black and white portraits with little doodles and pen and ink drawings on old sheet music.

Een 4 meter grote collage van oude pin-ups en ander gevonden materiaal zoals: muziekpartituren, chinees papier, stempels en oud geld. Dit alles werd overgoten met een digitaal sausje. Verder in de tentoonstelling blow ups van zwart/wit portretten met kleine droodels in inkt op oude muziekpartituren.

Un grand collage de 4 mètres qui conteint des vieux pin-ups et d’autre matériel trouvé comme : des partitures de musique,du papier chinois, des cachets et du vieil argent. Tout ceci a été mis ensemble avec des dessins digitales. Également dans l’exposition blow ups des portraits noirs et blancs avec des petits griffonnages à l’encre sur des vieux partitures de musique.

Berceuses d’un pétit oiseau modeste qui essayera d’étendre ces ailes, et ainsi ose voler jusq’aux oreilles des autres. Peut-être ils découvrent Qu’est-ce qu’ il est caché dessous les plumes.

Afgelopen vrijdag trad het venijnig gebroed – onder regie van Basterd of the universe Jan Wijffels – op in de Brusselse tentoonstellingsruimte M’atuvu. Een kleine ruimte die echter duidelijk volgestouwd zit met uitstekende initiatieven.

The universe where everything can take place…
The range of work which forms ” WONDERLAND”, has been divided in three parts.
- Living in turbid water
- The death as an instrument
- The exaltation

When brands make that step to be more social and decide to let go of control, we should applaud that. Sometimes we tend not to notice this, and focus just on those brands (still the most) that don’t get it at all.

Club Med is making a first step to engage with the community and in a very nice and smart way if you ask me. Interel – Club Med’s PR agency – worked with Caroline ‘Rolling Talks’ Maerten and Adhese for this first campaign. They asked blogger/photographer Ine if she was interested in going to Chamonix to one of the Club Med Villages. Nothing extraordinary here, but the nicest part of all this is that a special banner (developed by Adhese) is showing the latest updates of this trip tapping into Ine’s Twitter and Flickr stream. These banners are shown on a selection of Belgian’s most important blogs.

I don’t know about you but I think that Club Med has made a very smart move here. And the choice of Ine as the blogger to be invited is a very important part of this smart move.

Congrats to Caroline for setting it up with the agency and for Adhese to keep innovating, also within the banner.
