Từng làm MC chương trình ca nhạc và không xa lạ với chương trình truyền hình thực tế nhưng Yoon Ji Hoo của Vườn Sao băng vẫn hồi hộp và háo hức với vai trò MC của một chương trình truyền hình thực tế sắp ra mắt trên kênh MBC.

Cách đây vài ngày, chương trình sắp lên sóng kênh truyền hình MBC của Hàn Quốc mang tên Hunters  (Thợ săn) đã nhận được sự chú ý rất lớn khi êkip sản xuất tiết lộ thủ lĩnh của nhóm SS501 – một trong những thần tượng của Hàn Quốc có nhiều người hâm mộ nhất hiện nay là Kim Hyun Joong sẽ tham gia chương trình với vai trò MC. Tối 25/11, chương trình là một phần của chuỗi chương trình đặc biệt ngày chủ nhật của MBC mang tên Sunday Night này đã tổ chức họp báo trong sự chú ý của đông đảo báo giới và công chúng.

Para que a nadie se le olvide. En Numancia de la Sagra (Toledo), el domingo 27 de Diciembre, toda una matinal navideña para disfrutar de una verdadera celebración.

¿Dónde es el lugar concreto? El inicio será en el Irish Pub Dublin, en la Plaza del Pilar de Numancia de la Sagra, a las nueve de la mañana. Y está claro que en el pub poco café se va a tomar.

Por un poco de frío ¿Te la vas a perder por no ir abrigado?

Bueno, bueno. Parece que la fiesta privada de Jaguars MC va cargándose de novedades a medida que se acerca la fecha de celebración.

Es de entender que al ser una fiesta privada sólo se podrá acceder por estricta invitación de cualquiera que pertenezca a esta gran familia que va a cumplir ya 25 años de existencia.

Como dice mi amigo Juan “el Colgao”, son muchos años y en los que algunos se han quedado en la carretera, pero a los que no se ha olvidado y que son más recordados si cabe en este XXV Aniversario, porque todos han contribuido a que Jaguars MC estén donde están.

A las 20h. una cena-barbacoa para los allegados, que promete ser abundante en comida y cerveza, para llegar a las 22h. y abrir las puertas del Club a todos los que deseen celebrar con ellos este Aniversario.

Early Tuesday morning, the reggae world lost one it’s most charismatic and exciting selectors: Kevin “Squingy” Bennett of “Bass Odyssey”

Squingy has been battling an undisclosed terminal sickness for the past year or so and unfortunately, he succumb to his illness in a Tampa, Florida hospital yesterday morning.

He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, fans and fellow soundsmen…

I will be dedicating the remainder of my 2009 parties as an MC to “Squingy”, including “One Remarkable Year” on Friday November 27th @ Woo Lounge, “Rhyme & Wine” on Friday December 4th @ Premium Rhythm Bar and “The Triple Threat” on Saturday December 19th @ Tota Lounge.

This is an interview I did in 2003 when J-Live came to England as part of the ‘True School Academics’ tour with 7L and Esoteric. I know it’s a while ago, but it was part of a university radio show I was doing at the time and I’ve not shared it since. We did the interview just before the gig, as a walk ‘n talk on the way to the centre of Manchester. It’s about J-Live getting more exposure after the bootleg version of ‘The Best Part’ came out, about jazz and about the album ‘All of the Above’, which dropped at the time.

Lupe has been talking about his mistape for a about 3 weeks now and all the music websites are buzzing about it. He has finally come up with a name for it however he wont reveal it till closer to when he releases on the 25th. So sometime in the next 24 hours we should hear the name and hopefully a couple tracks from his much awaited tape.

Lupe now says that the mix tape will be pushed back to Thanksgiving night on thursday. He also goes on to explain why he decided to start putting out a series of mixtapes when he announced much earlier this year that he would be leaving the music industry soon and focusing more on his other ventures like his clothing line. Here’s what he said:

“The last six months, it’s been like, ‘I gotta really, really go out there and show that I’m nicer than all of them,’ ” Lupe said. “It’s like, ‘All right, so be it. If it takes three more albums to do it, then so be it.’ That’s what I got left with Atlantic. Three more after Lasers. I’m already done with two. The mixtape is coming Thanksgiving. It’ll be another mixtape after that and an album after that. It’s really to get that status and lock it in and [and have people] be like, ‘Look at this positive dude, the underdog. The positive one who came and murdered all these dudes. And he’s there, and he’s good.’ “

That’s right. So MC had several remixes, and once in a while, gems are being recreated. Among those that I really LOVE are like the Fantasy remix – ODB, the Always Be My Baby remix with JDupri and Xscape i think.. And the MAKE it Last & Thank God I Found You remix. They are really pretty darn awesome, and it feels like a totally different song, apart from the almost-similar lines and the new adlibs and stuff…

But.

There’s this remix now. Yes. NOW! November 2009! I know this is like yesterday’s-news, but… It’s really really freaking nice. It’s Christmas MEET Dance MEET Techno MEET Clubs!!! It’s FUCKING FESTIVE.

Like seriously. I was at first thinking like, wth is she trying to do, killing the classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” song that she had wrote and sang in her christmas album back in 1994. BUT MAN.

My first take on it was – man, its totally awful. The tempo is slower, the vocals seemed dragged, the techno is bothering me… like seriously, those constant thumping of beats… @.@

I gave it another try. And it grew. And another try. It grew BIGGER, n BIGGER n BIGGER n BIGGER. Now I’m hooked to it as well… WHY?

You want to ask me why? CAUSE IT’S FUCKING FESTIVE!! LOL, like really. REALLY REALLY FESTIVE. I’m always up for a festive, celebratory christmas, I don’t know which genes of mine actually set this mode of preference. But it’s true.

And the vocals are new, and some partially old. But one can hear that it’s her, the MIMI, not the Mariah, doing the singing. The texture of the voice is not as smooth, but.. BUT!! Surprisingly, it’s delightfully refreshing. Omg..

I can even start imagining people dancing in the club to this happy, holiday song. My god… Techno meets Classic meets Club meets Christmas. Like everything’s she’s churning out these days are quite crazily cool. And they work, well at least for a fan Just pure brilliance, ma god.

Oggi ho intervistato uno dei più bravi Mc non famosi (A mio parere), della scena italiana, gentilmente anche lui si è prestato a concederci l’intervista vediamo un pò che ha da dire:

1) Da dove è partita la passione per il rap?

Ho iniziato ad ascoltare rap italiano nel 2003,per caso trovai il cd “Curre curre wagliò”dei 99 posse(uno degli album italiani di rap militante più bello di tutti i tempi)e ne rimasi talmente affascinato da iniziare a comporre anch’io alcune rime…
Ai tempi il mio street name era King Dog,poi Z-Wyxxer,nome preso da una formula matematica(anche se in matematica sono sempre stato una ceppa)poi diventato Tetano per parecchi motivi,uno dei quali sono gli effetti dell’infezione chiamata “tetano”…
Il nome Rojo che utilizzo per la maggior parte su internet invece rappresenta la mia anima militante,la mia voglia di dire la mia su argomenti che coinvolgono bene o male tutti…
Ho iniziato a rappare nel 2004 creandomi da solo le prime basi,il mio primo pezzo “Canzone per Carlo” dedicata a Carlo Giuliani l’ho registrato nel 2005 ma ormai è andato perso…
Nel 2006 ho conosciuto la mia attuale ragazza che mi ha spinto a continuare con la musica visto che la mia passione si stava affievolendo e così a inizio 2007 ho acquistato il mio primo microfono abbastanza professionale e un minimo di apparecchiature.
Poi ho ampliato un pò i miei orizzonti e dai testi di protesta del primo periodo mi sono spostato verso l’horrorcore,ma senza abbandonare la passione per il rap militante…

2) Hai lavorato molto per diventare un bravo Mc?

La passione aiuta molto,quando ho registrato il mio primo demo “Gioco dell’impiccato”nel 2008 credevo che non sarebbe mai stato ascoltato da nessuno,invece in parecchi mi hanno spinto a continuare dopo questo piccolo lavoro nato su strumentali americane…
La cosa che più mi ha aiutato(oltre alla mia ragazza e a una parte della mia famiglia)è stata la collaborazione con tantissimi bravi ragazzi da tutta Italia,loro hanno aiutato me,io ho aiutato loro quando ho potuto e siamo cresciuti insieme…
I miei due demo sono anche frutto di questo bellissimo lavoro di squadra e soprattutto di questa grande amicizia che ci lega…

3) Sei al tuo secondo demo, poco tempo fà è uscito “Questo è Tutto”, realizzato insieme a Marmat er professore, quali sono i progetti futuri?

Far uscire “Questo è tutto”è stato più complicato rispetto al registrare GDI visto che per alcuni problemi ho dovuto ricomprare tutte le apparecchiature,eheheh…
Devo dire che sono molto soddisfatto della riuscita del progetto(siamo a più di 130 download,credo,e per un demo di esordio non sono pochi)soprattutto per le belle collaborazioni all’interno,a cominciare da Marmat che ha fornito quasi tutte le strumentali,i miei due fratelli nel rap JDC e Infinity che sono assolutamente insostituibili,Bonty e Marcoleeno,due bravi beatmaker,e Sa Cruxi,rapper e beatmaker sardo già affermato che mi ha concesso una strumentale in esclusiva…
Adesso sono al lavoro per molti progetti:un EP con JDC(stiamo scrivendo i testi e lui sta cercando campioni visto che l’ep sarà interamente prodotto da lui),uno solo mio prodotto dal beatmaker Marcoleeno che vanterà,probabilmente,alcune collaborazioni internazionali e il mio primo cd ufficiale,registrato in studio che dovrebbe uscire nel 2010…
Insomma,c’è parecchia carne sul fuoco,ahahah…

4) Cosa pensi del rap italiano? Cosa pensi bisognerebbe migliorare?

Onestamente?Del rap italiano odierno non ho un opinione molto positiva,il suono sta cambiando ma non sta andando affatto nella direzione giusta…
Ci stiamo americanizzando troppo,nessuno capisce che qui i ghetti non ci sono,che non c’è bisogno di “bella zio”,”damn uomo” o “yo yo”ma che c’è bisogno di sostanza,di contenuti validi che riescano a far riflettere…
C***o,quindici,vent’anni fa la scena era dominata dai 99 posse,dagli Onda Rossa,dall’Isola,gruppi che facevano pensare,che avevano tematiche forti e ben precise,oggi è tutto un parlare di locali,puttane,cocaina e droghe in generale,non c’è più voglia di parlare di lotta,di protesta,di un mondo che non è come dovrebbe essere…
Fortunatamente alcuni nomi nuovi sulla scena si stanno distaccando da quello che ormai è conformismo,posso fare il nome di Valerio Suarez e della Nacapito Crew,del Truceklan,che sa trattare argomenti magari scontati nel rap italiano odierno ma con una spinta non comune e con un punto di vista diverso,dei Cò Sang,che sanno ben descrivere la vera realtà del sud Italia…

5) Ultima domanda (la solita che facciamo a tutti) cosa pensi di http://ilrapitaliano.wordpress.com/?

Una bella iniziativa,il rap italiano è ancora un fenomeno di nicchia(i pochi artisti sotto major danno un’immagine sbagliata della nostra cultura,forse l’unico che ancora fa qualcosa di buono è Fibra) e ha bisogno di crescere,quindi un weblog come questo può far solo bene alla scena…

Alright, maybe angry is not really the word. But what i meant are songs with very complicated moods, like with highly sarcastic undertones, or just the deep sincerity in faith, stuffs. Ok, maybe it’s just mariah. Lolz.

I’m hooked. Really HOOKED. To this “Standing O” song. From her singing, it’s quite hard to make up those words, cause she’s crooning halfway, rapping and rushing through some lines, and layering and ad-libbing and then her melismas and her harmonics. My god. It’s really too much.

So. What I did was…

I went online to the mighty google, to the demi-god which is Google, and implored for the lyrics. And wah-lah. I saw it, finally, stark, naked, before me. Man, those words are reeking with sarcasm and anger. I’m like wth? But seriously, it’s a really good song, with pretty awesome lyrics. I’m totally amazed. And reading those lyrics, it adds to the feeling of the song. No wonder at several lines she’s like screaming at the back, and man, that pain and that freedom (as well). Like a certain courage shining through, to finally look back into the history/past and make a good classy laugh at it, while still being witfully underplaying his part and telling your story in a half-cryptic way as well as a half-joking manner. My god. I can almost feel those needles beneath the cotton candy song.

It’s amazing. Like totally. Haha.

Ok, maybe then again. It’s Mariah Carey. The One and Only.

Gonna give her a real – Standing O. She’s brilliant and amazing. Her music is… Complex. It’s really of a pretty mature level. Such a complex emotion to write. Ok, maybe apart from touch my body and maybe obsessed. lolz. I think I might just buy her album to show my support
