THE PIONEER OF THE SOUND IS WITHOUT A DOUBT WILEY BUT FAST FORWARD TEN YEARS AND THE SCENE IS NO LONGER DOMINATED BY LIVE SHOWS LIKE SIDEWINDER TO PROMOTE THE MC’S AND THEIR LYRICAL ABILITY, ITS LIMITED TO A FEW, MAINLY INTERNET/ PIRATE RADIO STATIONS AND A MULTITUDE OF BATTLE EVENTS AND YOUTUBE MEDIA CHANNELS.

MY PERSONAL VIEW IS NOT THAT THE STANDARDS OF THE MC’S HAS DROPPED BUT THAT THE ACTUAL  CALIBER OF THE PRODUCERS HAS TREBLED. IT WASN’T TIL I STARTED GOING THROUGH MY OLD IPHONE AND FOUND DOZENS OF EP’S I’D BOUGHT AND THEY ALL HAVE INSTRUMENTALS ON THEM, I CHECKED THIS AGAINST MY MOST PLAYED 25 TRACKS AND 10 OF THEM ARE INSTRUMENTALS. NOW I’M NOT A DJ OR A MC, I DON’T PRODUCE, I JUST LOVE MUSIC AND I FEEL THE CORE OF GRIME NOW STANDS WITH THE PRODUCERS.

I FEEL THE NEXT FEW YEARS WE WILL SEE THE RISE OF THE DJ’S AND THE PRODUCES BECOME EVER GREATER AS THE MC’S CONTINUE TO DIVERSIFY THEMSELVES BETWEEN DUB AND THE MORE COMMERCIAL URBAN RELEASES THAT ARE BECOMING MORE AND MORE PREVALENT.

I PERSONALLY WOULD LOVE TO HEAR MORE INSTRUMENTALS, AND SEE THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCERS CONTINUE TO RISE,

THOSE GOOD OLD DUBS THAT KEEP PEOPLE LIKE SIR RODIGAN PLAYING OUT  ALONGSIDE SIR SPYRO ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE PART OF GRIME, AS ARE PLACES LIKE ESKIMO DANCE, (THOUGH TO SEE THE WORDS RNB BASHMENT ETC  MENTIONED ON THE POSTER FOR ESKIMO BEACH SADDENS ME).

PERSONALLY I THINK GRIME NEED MORE LIVE EVENTS TO SHOWCASE THE TALENTS OF THE NEW WAVE OF DJ’S AND MC’S AS WELL AS CELEBRATING THE HISTORY OF THE GENRE.

In the week ending on 21st April 2013, there were 1,864 Solar PV installations. This is an 8.2% decrease from the previous week.

The number of weekly installations will most likely stay around the 1,900 mark for a few weeks before gradually rising. Back in February, weekly installations were staying around the 1,500 mark so there is a clear rise in installations as the days get longer and summer approaches.

(Memphis) Hundreds of Memphis City Schools students took advantage of the sunny skies Saturday to hit the streets of downtown Memphis.

The Student Responsibility March attracted about a thousand students who marched from city hall to the National Civil Rights Museum.

It was a chance for students to voice their concerns about their education as well as promote personal responsibility and teacher and parental involvement.

I love this time of year. I understand other chemically sensitive people love this time of year as well.

It is warm enough to go outside and bask in the beauty of the world.
The sky is blue.
The grass has turned green.
The early flowers have bloomed.
The trees are budding and are almost ready to blossom.
The birds are singing.
The wildlife is more active.

As an added bonus:
It is too early for the use of lawn chemicals and pesticides.
No running lawnmowers, weed wackers and blowers.

In other words: The Air is Clean.

There are 3 bodies in place to oversee and administer the Solar PV industry and FiT scheme in the UK, they are;

• Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC)
• The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
• Gemserv

All installers must sign up to the RECC if they want to sell and install Solar PV systems and ensure customers benefit from the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT). This provides consumers with protection from pressure selling, sales tricks… etc.

The MCS are in place to ensure that solar contractors (and other renewable contractors) have the necessary quality, health and safety, training, and complaints procedures in place to undertake high quality and safe installations. Only companies with the MCS accreditation badge can sell to and contract with customers to install Solar PV. Every year the accredited companies are re-assessed to ensure that they are doing things properly. The MCS also certify components, such as Solar Panels. If the panels installed are not certified by the MCS then no FiT is paid.

Gemserv are the overall managing body of the Feed-in-Tariff and other schemes designed to encourage microgeneration. They handle the budget from which the FiT is paid and distribute the money to the energy companies, who in turn pay it on the to the microgenerators on a quarterly basis.

Lately I have realised that I was myself affected. It started by food intolerance, followed by wheezing and rashes due to chemical sensitivities to VOCs and perfumes. At first I thought I was allergic but a visit to an allergy specialist put me in my place as unless my life was in danger I was just being “too sensitive” and should avoid substances that did not agree with me. Of course this sounds like common sense, yet it affects my daily life so I decided to investigate MCS and its causes and effects.

The following has been provided by MCS Aware a British support group for people suffering from chemical, food and electro-sensitivities worldwide.

What is MCS?
MCS is a chronic, physical illness affecting people of all ages and backgrounds. It causes sufferers to have allergic-type reactions to very low levels of chemicals in everyday products. Put simply the immune and detoxification systems stop working properly and the body cannot process toxins efficiently.

Besides reacting to things like cleaning products, shampoo, perfumes and pesticides, many sufferers are also sensitive to food, medicines, moulds and electromagnetic fields.

MCS can be broken down into 3 categories: Chemical Sensitivity, Food Intolerance, Electro-Sensitivity.

The Symptoms
Most people are familiar with mild forms of chemical sensitivity. Symptoms might include a rash from washing powder or shampoo, headaches from traffic fumes, asthma from perfume, or hyperactivity induced by chemicals in foods. These symptoms can usually be managed by avoiding the problem products.

Individuals with MCS react to far more than one or two items. Severe sufferers cannot tolerate any synthetic or petrochemical substances, and some even react to natural products. Because of modern manufacture, many people with MCS find themselves allergic to practically everything in their homes.

Exposure to very low levels of toxins and fragrances can lead to a wide range of symptoms including headaches, nausea, disorientation, confusion, breathing problems, exhaustion, muscle pains or collapse. Reactions vary in severity and can occur immediately or several hours later depending on which body systems are involved.

Treatment
Although symptoms can be managed and sometimes improved, there is currently no known cure.

Recovery involves avoidance of as many toxins and problem substances as practicably possible, to allow the body time to heal and prevent irreversible damage. This has a huge impact on everyday life but nutritional therapy and gentle detoxification can help repair the body’s systems. Some people also find specialist desensitisation and complementary therapies beneficial.

Recognition
MCS is classified as a physical illness by the World Health Organisation (WHO) under the International Classification of Diseases ICD-10-SGB-V, T78.4. MCS is recognised as a serious medical illness in Germany, Denmark, Austria, Japan, Australia, Canada and the USA, where sufferers have access to appropriate medical treatment, housing and social support.

In the UK multiple sensitivities are listed as a symptom of ME, but MCS is not yet recognised as an illness in its own right. Medical support varies widely and there are no specialist NHS treatment facilities. Sufferers and their families are often left to cope as best they can without help.

In the last couple of weeks I have spoken to so many parents that seem to be in a state of rather high anxiety. With Spring families facing the thought of signing up for another year of Christian Education, this causes families to seriously look at finances. There always seems to a factor of doubt that creeps in with these evaluations. Families are trying to make summer plans, children’s camps are on parent’s minds, and little league baseball and softball are starting up. There are children’s musicals, band and choir programs, spring plays, and the list goes on and on.

Having been in a leadership position for almost all the years of my profession, this verse causes a peace to come over me. Our world today is indeed a stressful place in which to live. The demands that are placed on us on a daily basis can be overwhelming. Knowing that we serve a risen Savior and that He truly cares for each and every person is important and comforting.

I would challenge us all to take a deep breath and set aside a little time to contemplate the fact that God really does CARE for you. He can handle your anxiety when you can’t.
