jeg er frisk igjen, og slutta å være smittefarlig for to timer siden. nå skal jeg på comenius møte, der vi skal diskutere hva vårt bidrag til det internasjonale prosjektet skal være. jeg har egentlig liten tid, må lese gjennom en kontrakt før møtet, også må jeg skifte ut av den slitte joggebuksa mi. jeg trodde jeg hadde mer tid i dag enn jeg egentlig hadde skjønner du, jeg skulle stå opp og rydde hybelen, forberede meg til møtet og så skulle jeg spise lunsj med mamma og stefar. det endte med at jeg sov til lunsjen og er akkurat ferdig med å rydde hybelen. derfor har jeg nå tjue minutter på å gjøre meg klar. jaja. jeg for vel skyndte meg…

i´m well again, and stopped being contagious two hours ago. now i have to go to the comenius meeting at school at three. there we are going to discuss what our contribution to the international project is going to be. i haven´t really got that much time right now, i have to read through a contract before the meeting and i have to change out of my old, worn out sweat pants. i had originally planned to have much more time today, i was going to get up early and clean my flat, prepare myself for the meeting and eat lunch with my mum and stepfather. i ended up sleeping until my lunchdate with mum, therefore i just finished cleaning. i now have only twenty minutes on me before i leave to get ready. oh well.. better hurry then…

I wish to take this moment and thank both The Garner Citizen for the space and you the citizens for your kindness in entertaining my efforts as I work to earn your trust in my run for a seat on the Town Council.

I am a man who finds it easy to speak to people; the size of the group does not matter to me — three people or three thousand, I am comfortable with each. I am equally comfortable in a boardroom with the heads of a corporation or in a sandbox with children. But to ask me to place myself before you on paper is a very difficult concept to me. It’s almost prideful and boastful, which is not my nature.

I am a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having proudly served during the Vietnam War. I have four children and a wonderful wife, for whom I would lay down my life this day without any hesitation. I am a Christian by faith who respects the right of others to peacefully observe their faith but demands the right to observe his. I have been a youth pastor working with teenagers of all diversities both economically and socially.

My work background includes vice president of a major corporation and as a simple blacksmith, sweating in the heat of the day and shoeing horses. I fully understand the value of a dollar and the sweetness of a well-earned evening’s rest.

I appreciate holding hands with my wife and watching my child fall asleep with her head on my wife’s lap. I know the pain of losing a loved one and the joy of witnessing birth.

I am running for Town Council here in Garner, and given the opportunity I will help to stop the wasteful spending that has occurred. I will make the town government more transparent to the citizens of Garner.
