In urma acestui concert si a altora a fost stransa suma de 15.000 de euroi. Pana aici toate bune si frumoase, doar ca HAMZIE, un coleg care lucra cu tatal fetitei, i-a furat banii si de atunci nimeni nu mai stie nimic de el. Cum fratziche (masculin si feminin) sa faci asta ? Cum ? Este extrem de trist !

Cu ocazia asta vreau sa ii rog pe toti cei din departamentul HR sa nu mai angajeze niciodata pe cineva cu acest nume/porecla/initiala tatalui.

Although he made Thriller, one of the best-selling albums of all time, he should not just be remembered for the number of records he sold. Like many superstars, he, “Michael Jackson“, had multiple talents and many admirable qualities and achievements.

Not only was he a phenomenal dancer, but he had a unique dancing style and invented his own dance moves. The most famous dance is his moonwalk. Although I did learn the moonwalk, I’ve never been much of a dancer. However, I have no doubt that many people could learn to be great dancers by learning his moves. In fact, one of Britney Spears dance instructors learned dancing by doing just that. This brings me to my first lesson I learned from Michael Jackson.

1. Successful people don’t just achieve success for themselves. They also plant seeds for the success of multiple other people. If it weren’t for Michael Jackson, many others would not have landed where they are, including Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and some of Michael’s own relatives, such as Janet Jackson.

2. You don’t have to be the best singer to be a music sensation. You just have to enjoy singing and make songs that touch people’s hearts. Michael did not have an operatic voice, but his voice was enjoyable enough to make people want to hear him sing.

2. It’s very important to create something that is uniquely yours. Michael wrote a lot of his own songs. While there are many people who achieve fame without writing songs, it’s always best to do some of your own song writing. His songs were not necessarily intellectually profound, but they were good enough to pull millions of heart strings. That is the most important goal a song can achieve.

3. Don’t forget to enjoy the simple things in life. I read a story that Michael’s good friends blindfolded him and took him to a supermarket so he could go grocery-shopping. His other friends acted as shoppers who pretended he was just an ordinary shopper like them. Grocery shopping is such a mundane thing for most of us that we can’t imagine someone enjoying something so simple. But there Michael was, giggling like a schoolboy at the prospect of wheeling a cart around, looking for food to buy.

4. No matter what, take care of your body. At this time, we don’t know what caused Michael Jackson’s death. However, it is well-known that in the past he took drugs that were not essential for his health, namely painkillers. On the one hand, Michael was an example of someone who exercised. He couldn’t be a great dancer without being in good shape. The problem is that too many medications can be hurtful to your body and can undo the effects of other healthy behaviors you engage in.

The importance of adequate sleep, exercise and eating well can never be overstated. Prescription medications are sometimes necessary and can save your life, but they should definitely be kept to a minimum.

5. Don’t let people you care about hurt themselves, if you can help it. Do or say something to discourage them. Ultimately, what a person does is their choice, and sometimes you can’t stop them. When you can help, however, you should.

I saw an interview with a medical professional who said that Michael Jackson asked her for a powerful and dangerous drug to help him sleep. It may be that someone eventually gave him what he wanted. That could have resulted in his death. A good friend and provider should not appease someone by allowing them to do harm to themselves.

6. Whatever you do in life, do your best. Michael had a reputation as a consummate professional. This is definitely one of the qualities that led to his success as an entertainer.

7. Even if you come from generations of poverty, you can become successful. Most people never escape the socioeconomic status they are born into. However, it could be simply because they convince themselves that it is impossible to break the glass ceiling. The Jackson family are proof that this is not true.

8. Your race is not a barrier to what you want to do in life. Don’t get me wrong. There is still plenty of racism in this country. Michael, “Michael Jackson“, Jackson broke the color barrier long before President Obama showed up, at a time when it was even harder to do.

9. Never forget those who have helped you. We don’t always agree with friends, but we should never cut them out of our lives entirely. The success of a person is never the result of that person’s efforts alone. A successful person is usually the result of multiple joint ventures in their life. An example of this is Michael’s friendship with Diana Ross. It is believed Diana Ross helped the Jackson family’s career, and Michael always remained friends with her.

10. Always help those less fortunate than yourself. Use your success to help others. Helping others makes you a better person.

Many people remember the “We Are The World” song. I think the reason this song is notable is that people think of celebrities as rich and self-centered. This was one example that some stars do believe in using their fame to help poor people.

If you read about multiple famous people, you will see similar patterns in their behavior. If you want any level of success in your career or just to be a good person, there are habits you can develop that will help. Michael Jackson had these habits and more, and that is why he will always be in the hearts of minds of millions of people.

Looking at the current music industry, I find it interesting how a lot of the biggest stars have attached themselves to one another.  Beyoncé and Jay-Z are considered the golden couple of R&B / hip-hop, and although they are both megastars and extremely talented in their own right (and have lots of independent ventures, and carved out their own careers independently before getting together), it’s the fact that they are together which makes them seem almost invincible.  When you listen to some of Beyoncé’s love songs, you can imagine her singing about Jay-Z; when she has a song like “Diva” which exudes confidence in a hip-hop style, you assume that Jay-Z had something to do with that attitude.  Even if it’s not the case.  Likewise, on Robin Thicke’s new song “Meiplé”, Jay-Z raps about Beyoncé being the “black Brigitte Bardot”.

Running with the Beyoncé example, she teams up with artists such as Shakira and Lady Gaga (whoever’s hot, basically) to cement her status as one of music’s elite.  Just like Timbaland and Justin Timberlake, or Timbaland and Nelly Furtado.  Relationships-wise, remember the furore over Britney Spears and Justin back in the day?  Their relationship elevated them to supernova-level megastardom, and was a massive element in their fame and success.  Interestingly, when they broke up, things just weren’t the same.  I think as members of the public, we like a couple who are balanced musically and seem to fit each other personally – it seems like fairytales can happen.  And when they self-destruct and we’re forced to admit that the fairytale was something created by the public and the media that the celebrities could never live up to, it’s just not the same.  I’m sure that there are some people who would attribute Britney’s entire marriage to Kevin Federline and her subsequent meltdown to the fact that her and Justin broke up, regardless of the reasons behind that breakup or the other factors in Britney’s life that added to her downward spiral (and subsequent resurgence).  I think that the same is happening with Rihanna and Chris Brown at the moment – however good their music / dancing / fashion might be, the fact that they were part of a couple – however much they would deny it to the paparazzi – made them seem that little bit more gilded in superstardom.  Now that they’ve split up, regardless of who beat who, they’re both experiencing some backlash (despite the fact that in both cases, their new material is certainly up to par, if not better, than their previous work).  What’s up with that?

I was thinking about this not because I ruminate daily on Beyoncé and Rihanna’s love lives, but because the same kind of thing has happened at uni.  Consciously or not, several of us within our course have paired off – not in a romantic sense, but just attached ourselves to one best friend.  There’s Pete and Emma, Penny and Daisy, Julie and Clare, among others – and of course me and Mike.  Talking about Mike and me, we’re the unofficial ‘leaders’ of our group – everyone seems to look to us whenever we speak in class, whenever someone needs to volunteer to do something in the group, organising social events.  I dread to think what would have happened if one of us didn’t smoke – we wouldn’t have had the chance to gel so instantly (on the first morning, Mike came up to me and said “Do you smoke?” “Yes.” “I thought it was you outside.  THANK GOD.  I smoke too!” and that was it!).  But I still think that because of the people we are, we would have found each other before too long.  It’s interesting how we seem to attract others around us, be they members of the aforementioned pairs, or others.  At first, there was a pair of the two youngest girls, Jenny and Sian, but as time’s gone on, Jenny has started to explore life on the dark side (i.e. she’s hanging out with me, Mike and Vikki) and loosened up to have some fun.  There’s a sense of charisma and magnetism that pairs who get on well exude without even much effort.  I wonder if those in our group who don’t come out for social drinks, who turn up to uni alone and go home alone, are enjoying it quite as much?  I know that the point of the course is not to have fun and socialise, but I like to work hard and play hard, and I think it’s a good balance for getting the most from this experience.

The funny thing was one night recently when Mike couldn’t come out.  I was still the social ringleader, but I did have a couple of comments such as “So what is Mike doing tonight?”  ”How is Mike?” “You won’t smoke as much tonight since your smoking partner isn’t here.”  Me and Mike texted during the evening (he was sad he couldn’t be there, I was updating him on the scandal and gossip as the night progressed), but I thought it was interesting how people still kinda saw me as the ringleader, but thought that he and me were inseparable to the point of knowing each other’s business inside out.  I told Mike about it on Sunday when I saw him, and we laughed at the fact people seem to have the conception that we cannot exist without one another (I’ve heard one person say “Mike loves you, he follows you everywhere!” when I don’t see it as following, I just see it as a natural gravitation towards one another) – last time I checked, I managed 23.8 years of my life without Mike, and he managed even more without me.

Once you become a part of a “power couple” in whatever sense, does that make you inferior when you act on your own?  As much as I enjoy being part of the “Mike & I” leadership party, I’m still my own person.  Me and Mike have a lot in common, but we’re different in a lot of ways too, and I don’t need him to function.  And vice versa!  I think that having a companion or partner in crime makes you feel stronger, bolder and more confident, but it doesn’t mean that without the other person, you’re nothing.  I wonder what Jay-Z thinks about his position in hip-hop’s elite, and whether this position would be compromised were he to divorce Beyoncé tomorrow.  Sometimes a friendship or relationship brings along with it a certain amount of social bank or clout, but that’s not the sole reason why we should be friends with anyone – we just gel with people and connect from there.  Because at the end of the day, people may see a certain facet of us in the public eye – whether we’re celebrities or just day-to-day people – but behind closed doors or in the privacy of our own relationship, we have that connection for reasons people don’t understand unless they’re willing to plumb the depths below the surface.

If someone’s 20 years old and every third line out of their mouth is anti-something specific, then draw your own conclusion. I thought it was very weird. Similarly, there’s a certain type of middle-aged woman that will tell you within 20 seconds of meeting you that she can’t find anyone to take her to bed. And that really strikes me as strange, too, like, “Why are you telling me that?” I don’t like any kind of conversational agenda; it makes me uncomfortable. I just think it’s weird. Unless you’re with your very best friends and you’re being silly. Then you can do whatever you want.

Na última terça-feira, dia 01/09/09 eu fui assistir ao show do Blue Man Group no Credicard Hall. Chegando lá eu achei que iria ver uma performance meio teatral com alguns efeitos sonoros tirados de tubos de pvc, mas para minha surpresa, eu assisti a um verdadeiro show de rock! Acompanhados por uma banda completa e orientados por um vendedor ao bom e velho estilo 1406 (ligue agora e compre), os três homenzinhos azuis, fazem da turnê Megastar, uma apresentação bastante interativa com o público, e ao contrário do que se possa imaginar, por conta do Blue no nome, o show é bem colorido, possui boas pitadas de humor e uso de diversos efeitos especiais super tecnológicos, além de atuações no melhor estilo alienigina dos homenzinhos azuis. O espetáculo é realmente interativo e impactante. Não é por acaso que eles fazem sucesso a tanto tempo. Vale a pena conferir!

De cand ma stiu mi-a placut sa lucrez cu oamenii si sa fiu inconjurata de oameni. In ultimii ani am avut parte de colaborari frumoase si am lucrat cu oameni minunati. Pana acum am avut oportunitatea sa lucrez in TV, radio si la diferite evenimente mai mult muzicale. De la Megastar, Best Fest, Summer Fest, French Kiss am ajuns intr-o lume diferita cea a aviatiei. Lucrez de ceva vreme in Londra e foarte bine. Domeniul in care lucrez nu e foarte diferit de cel stiut de mine. E tot vorba despre productie tv, de social networking. Tot live… tot media. Am intrat in lumea asta cu zambetul pe bune si sincer ma simt foarte bine printre campioni mondiali de acrobatie aviatica sau printre parasutisti si profesionisti ai sportului aviatic. cat despre fanii care s-au adunat in cerc (moment de reculegere sub forma de hora) in statia de metrou piata unirii ca sa jeleasca prin muzica “greaua despartire de michael” de parca ar fi stat toata ziua bot in bot cu el, nu am altceva de spus decat ca le-as face exact ce visam de cand am vazut pentru prima oara un palc de fani MJ, o adunatura de tantalai imbracati ca vai de ei, cu cosuri si palarii scofaclcite care se impiedicau dansand. intelegeti odata oameni buni ca imediat dupa ‘90, oamenii care aveau ceva in cap erau rockeri! ei bine, i-as aduna pe toti in jurul pickup-ul-ui cu gurile cascate, m-as aseza pe vinilul “dangerous” turat la maxim si in rotatia nebuna le-as da muie la toti, indiferent de sex – oricum la viteza aia nu mai conteaza cum arati, daca ai suflet bun sau ce muzica asculti. singura problema ar trebuis a fie sa reusesc sa am erectie. probabil ca in fata atator natarai mi s-ar micsora pana la imposibilitatea de a mai fi gasita vreodata, asa ca as relaxa vezica in asa fel incat sa am o sansa sa localizez cucusoru mergand in sens invers scurgerii.

A murit un megastar. S-a mai închis o carte citită mai mult privind pozele decât aprofundând. Poze care au marcat şi vor marca generaţii. Prin muzică, prin versuri, prin mişcare, prin negru, prin alb, prin atitudine, prin singurătate, prin adulaţie, prin izolare, prin puritate, prin acuzaţii … prin ansamblu.

A fost celebrat un megastar. Cu emoţii, cu amintiri, cu voci formate pentru a fi ca el, cu familie, cu prieteni, cu fani, cu o lume întreagă în lacrimi. Cu o doamnă politician care dincolo de vorbele frumoase, ne-a prezentat o atitudine tipică de politician. Rigidă, parţial autoimpusă, fără emoţie, cu un final lipsit de dedicaţie, de feeling ori … concluzie. Nu îl deplângea pe Michael Jackson, nu îl celebra, … lăuda senatul, lăuda iniţiativa .. se referea la ei, .. la politică.Politica … politicienii – cele mai mari staruri în zilele noastre. Interpretând partituri impuse ori texte care „dau bine”, dansând pe melodii ce le sunt suflate în ureche, fără a pune suflet, fără a avea păsare, adresându-se mass-mediei nu oamenilor, cerând ori deseori plătind „adularea” din partea acestora, îmbrăcându-se după ultima modă în ultima vreme, sfidând parcă sărăcia, ofurile şi necazul reprezentaţilor, precum şi „dezvoltarea durabilă” care li s-a lipit de discursul scris de angajaţi şi interpretat cu greutate după îndelungi repetiţii.

Repetiţii făcea şi Michael Jackson, implicându-se însă. Da, concerta pentru bani. Pentru bani fac şi politicienii show. Da, interpreta texte scrise adeseori de alţii. Dar se transpunea în ele – el era ceea ce interpreta. Da, dansa pe coregrafia cuiva. Dar simţea cu fiecare fibră mişcările.

În afară de drama percepută despre moartea cuiva în sine, vă întreb, după care politician actual aţi suferi la trecerea sa în nefiinţă?

Michael Jackson mi-a incintat copilaria, a fost prima vedeta a muzicii al carui fan am fost. Am trecut ulterior prin diverse alte etape, ca toti copii de virsta mea, perioada formatiilor gen Depeche Mode, Guns’N'Roses, apoi Aerosmith, descoperirea altor legende ale muzicii precum Rolling Stones, dar Michael Jackson a fost primul care m-a fermecat, primul star al muzicii care a declansat in mine pasiunea de a ii colecta albumele (pe disc de vinil si casete magnetice pe atunci), de a cauta un poster cu el si de a citi articolele din revistele de tineret care publicau ultimele stiri despre megastar (pe atunci nu descoperisem internetul).

Parul meu cret (in copilarie spre adolescenta) si tenul mai masliniu, ii faceau pe unii din familie sa ma asemuiasca cu Michael. Din pacate, la cele doua concerte ale lui din Romania, din 1992 si 1996, nu am fost prezent. In 1992, la un eveniment cu totul nou pentru Romania, nu am mers pentru ca eram un elev de gimnaziu care nu a indraznit sa ceara parintilor voia si banii pentru bilet, mai ales ca un astfel de concert era considerat ca “ar putea fi periculos”, se ingramadeste lumea, se face aglomeratie, sa nu cumva sa ma striveasca cineva, Doamne Fereste. In 1996 era anul examenului de facultate, ai mei cheltuisera bani pentru meditatii, nu era timp de concert pentru ca stateam cu burta pe carte.

Cu toate astea, Michael Jackson a continuat sa aiba un loc important in sufletul meu. Muzica lui m-a atins intr-un mod special. A fost unic in stilul sau de a cinta, nu a copiat pe nimeni, nu a cintat vreun gen muzical, genul lui muzical a fost michael jackson-ismul, daca pot zice asa. Pe de alta parte, el a influentat pe atitia altii dupa el, auzeam deunazi pe Jason Timberlake care recunostea ca a fost influentat de Michael. Ma simteam legat de el si datorita tulburarilor sale obsesiv compulsive, teama de boli si de infectare cu microbi (va amintiti momentul din 1992 cind spre disperarea lui Michael, Ion Iliescu a sarit sa ii stringa mina?), tulburari pe care le traiesc, pastrind proportiile, si eu.

Imi amintesc in mod distinct modul ireal in care dansa, si cum se transforma atunci cind se urca pe scena, din omul timid, sovaielnic, un adult imatur, un copil mare care in fapt, sufleteste nu s-a maturizat niciodata, se transforma spuneam intr-un miracol cintator, dansator, insulfind energie in toti spectatorii. In dictionarele lumii, poza lui este ilustratia pentru termenul “megastar”, a fost Zeul suprem al pop-ului, cum l-a numit Liz Taylor, un om controversat, ciudat, chinuit, care cred ca a suferit mult si a fost in fapt dureros de singur, dar care a reusit sa capete bucurie datorita bucuriei pe care o insufla pe scena celor care il urmareau si il aplaudau. De aceea, viata lui, pe rezultanta, a fost una frumoasa. A fost un artist complet, cum rar mai intilnesti, compunindu-si muzica, versurile si coregrafia. A fost un geniu al muzicii, spun asta fara nici o teama de a exagera.

Am aflat vestea mortii lui la radio in masina, vinerea trecuta dimineata, intr-o zi in care am avut un eveniment important al vietii mele, un eveniment care marcheaza un pas in plus in viata adulta, si am simtit cumva, in mod ciudat, ca o alta parte a copilariei mele a murit, a disparut de tot, si am plins, desi era o zi vesela pentru mine – am plins poate pentru prima data in ultimii aproape doi ani, ultima data fiind la moartea tatei. La radio era o avalansa de mesaje de la ascultatori, SMS-uri, mesaje verbale, blocind sistemele si reprezenind recorduri ale postului de radio. Un student din Regie povestea cum in tot caminul rasuna Michael Jackson. In toate magazinele in mall mai deunazi, rasunau cintecele sale. Paradoxal, disparitia sa l-a adus mult mai actual si mai prezent in sufletele si urechile noastre, pina mai deunazi nemaiinteresindu-se decit stirile de can-can despre ultimele extravagante ale megastarului.

Nu am sa intru in a comenta diversele speculatii in privinta mortii, si diversele coincidente, cum ar fi recenta innoire a contractului cu avocatul testamentar, stradania unei reveniri care sa il salveze de la datorii, dependentele de medicamente – fiind ultimele etape ale unei vieti ciudate si extravagante intre scandalurile de presupusa pedofilie, presupusa camera hiper-barica in care dormea, disputele legate de modul de concepere si paternitatea celor trei copii ai sai. Unii ar putea zice ca si-a simtit, prevestit si chiar grabit sfirsitul, n-am sa comentez nimic aici, pentru ca “De mortuis nil nisi bene” – despre cei morti, numai de bine.

Desi avem nevoie de Michael aici, probabil ca Dumnezeu a avut multa nevoie de el, a spus Steve Wonder la ceremonia de la Staples Center LA. Asa ne spunem de fiecare data cind moare un om care ne e drag, care este valoros si cu atit mai mult cu cit e o disparitie neasteptata, fulgeratoare. De fapt, toate mortile sunt neasteptate, chiar si in cazul unei morti anuntate, nu putem fi niciodata suficient de pregatiti. Azi ne despartim de Michael cel trupesc, cel cintator, dansator, copil-adult, alb-negru, dar cred ca amintirea lui nu va fi uitata, si un alt record de 58 de milioane de discuri vindute nu va mai fi atins. Se va putea odihni in pace, dupa ce furia mediatica de care a fugit toata viata (“I hate tabloids”) a insotit si zilele care au urmat dupa moartea sa de pe 25 iunie.

Am auzit un citat dragut zilele trecute, il scriu in Engleza, pentru calamburul aferent: “When the clouds are moving, Michael Jackson is moonwalking”. Michael, multumim pentru bucuria pe care ne-ai oferit-o – categoric, tu vei trai vesnic in sufletele noastre prin arta muzicii tale. Iar eu imi propun sa nu mai pierd nici un concert al vedetelor actuale si viitoare, atit pentru privilegiul de a trai un asfel de eveniment cit si de a ii vedea pe acesti oameni dotati care ne daruiesc din harul lor.
