WOOT!! I randomly leveled up my slayer multiple times ina row all in about 20 minutes. Here are all of the screenshots.

This was really cool for me because I have never really made more than one level up in a day since I reached about level 45.

I got 61 defense which mean I now have 61 Attack, Strength, and Defense. Now that I have all these stats I should probably make a guide but I’m still waiting for one more training method.

I got 61 attack. YAY!!! I have a new training method also, killing level 50 spiders!!! I got over 5k EXP in about 4 minutes and they are aggressive for about 7 minutes which is a fair amount of EXP. At least for me.

If you were wondering yes I did take this with the Windows Snipping Utility because it is easy to use and fast.

Hello! I finally got my magic up and I did it all at once to, not over days or weeks. Just a matter of minutes. If your wondering how I did this I was at the circus (I go every week) and I leveled up Magic, Range, and Agility. If your looking to level up magic then use the levitation magic. I used it and got over 10k exp!!!

I got this by cutting yews and willows and made over 40k in the process.

I was killing Ice Giants yesterday and just by luck that was my slayer task. By the end of the day I had leveled up slayer twice. Here is a screen shot from my skill tab because I unfortunately missed both the little messages that pop up…

Hello! I finally got level 56 fishing, and when I say finally I mean I wasn’t trying to and it just happened! Sadly though I did not get a screenshot of this event because my browser crashed about 12 seconds after me getting level 56. I have updated the stat sigs and after I level up some other levels I’m going to try to make a skill guide or money making guide. (That will be an epic fail)

YAY!!! I finally got level 64 wood cutting! I’ve been training it alot recently because I want level 80 for the saw mill.

I got level 64 by cutting yews, which it turns out I’ve made over 100k in the process!!! (Yews have been on a slight rise recently)

I think I’m going to follow this WC thing a little more closely. I mean 100k for 1 level, thats kinda high in my book.

Soooo….I’m a bit behind here but I have never really had the urge to head into Ony’s Lair.  The guild put together a group to run tonight.  After three wipes we finally got her.  Nothing good as far as loot but it was definitely a learning experience.  And seeing 8k DPS on the charts doesn’t hurt my confidence either (Thanks to phase 2 for that).

For a Rogue there’s not much to this fight.  PHASE 1 – Tank and spank but stay on the side of Ony to avoid tail and talon swipe.  at 60% health you begin PHASE 2 – First Fan of Knives the group of whelps that come out.  Redirect aggro using Tricks of the Trade.  Also your are watching for “Deep Breath” and you must immediately move to a wall in her lair.  After first phase of whelps switch to Guardian Adds (move out of range of guardians during blast nova) until 40% health and then begins PHASE 3 – Another tank and spank with some fears thrown in.  It’s really nothing when everyone pays attention and does their job.

It was short and fun and now that I’ve got an idea of how the fight goes I’m not as worried about Puggin it for 25man.

So I hadn’t posted about this since I picked it up but I got my Black Night’s Rondel a couple of weeks ago but I hadn’t bothered heading for the tacklin dummies to test out my Deeps.  Well I did a few nights ago and was mighty surprised at what I found.  I was hitting 4k and able to sustain it unbuffed!  This is all compared to the boost Mutilate got after the 3.2.2 patch.  Check the link to read my story before…

I don’t know how often I’ll do “book reviews,” mostly because I don’t read NEARLY as often as I really should.

But recently I read this book called “Gates of Fire.” It’s a sort of historical fiction about the Battle of Thermopylae. My father encouraged me to read it (and when I say “encouraged” I mean he’d mentioned it several times and then finally put it in my hands) because he believed that as a writer and a DM, I’d get a lot out of it.

Oh goddddd was he right.

Steven Pressfield, known for his historical-fiction war novels, wrote it, and did an incredible amount of research into how the Spartans actually fought.

The story is told from the point of view of a Spartan Peer’s squire named Xeones. He describes the battle, its proceedings, its preparations, all in great detail. The ground churned like the farmer’s field from hell, the frantic scrabbling of desperate sweaty hands in the dirt for a spare sword, the shiver and crack of a spear breaking in some poor Persian’s flesh.

The book itself is fascinating, just for the sake of reading a novel, but the plain, layman’s terms description of battle gives a clear-cut, very detailed vision of what war is like for heavy infantry, without getting too florid or talking over anyone’s heads.

I highly recommend it just as a book, but for any DM who wants to deal with heavy infantry or introduce a little more realism into melee combat, this is a must-read.

Next on my list is Pressfield’s “Last of the Amazons,” as soon as I get around to reading it.
