This is my family.

It’s almost Christmas and I seriously can’t wait to get on a plane and fly home.  Although Christmas is super busy for Ben and I, it’s sooo great to see so many of the people we love.  It’s been a while since my entire family has been home together, so I’m pretty freaking excited.  My family is so great, so I am going to babble about them for a bit.

This year all of my sibs are out West as well and it is awesome.  We see Little Buddy pretty much every other weekend.  Sometimes we play MarioKart online and battle it out for last place.  He eats a ridiculous amount. Seriously, 3 cheeseburgers for a snack?? And then he complains that he thinks he is losing weight.  I guess it’s ironic that I call him “Little Buddy” when he is almost a foot taller than me.

One time Boonk and I discovered the video camera wasn’t working right.  We asked Brad about it, but he denied breaking it.  We finally got the tape to play and watched a video of Brad taping the camera to the top of his remote control car and bashing it into the van. Busted.

He also plays hockey and sometimes we watch his games.  One time I came dressed as a zombie; it was embarrassing.  Even though, in my defense, it was Halloween.

Boonk comes over sometimes for hot choco and some calculus tutoring.  She is a genius and I suck at calc.  Thank goodness for her!  She has also recently started letting me paint her face and take pictures .  Almost every time she comes over she arrives with a Caramel Macchiato for me! How awesome is she?  She also has a talent for baking and makes buttertarts that rival G-ma’s.

I have learned the hard way that Boonk is the worst person to go to a movie with.  She is constantly laughing super loud at inappropriate times or “whispering” her predictions for the movie. I guess it is actually pretty fun….

Melly is usually organizing some sort of potluck or event, so we don’t see her that much on weekends. But I love when she comes downtown because we go to Starbucks 3 times a day and shop.  I also steal her style and copy pretty much everything she wears. Thanks Melly

One of my favourite things about Mel is her laugh.  It reminds me of Grandma Joy <3

One time when we were little, Heather and Mel made about 200 creepy crawlers, put them in a old cool-whip container and balanced it on the top of my slightly open bedroom door.  When I opened the door, the container didn’t flip over and hit me square on the head. I was mad.  I have to give it to them though, it was a decent plan for 6 year olds and it must gave taken forever to make that many creepy crawlers.

Of course, my parents are awesome.

Dad is super ADD and always building something, fixing something, burning something, and planning little trips.  He is the absolute best person to road-trip with.  Having driven across the country with him twice, I have seen so many random cool things. Examples: Wall Drug, Mt. Rushmore (maybe not that random, but cool), the site of General Custer’s last stand, a bunch of weird little museums, hundreds of prairie dogs, the Bad Lands, and an iron bear statue.  Growing up he started lots of family traditions, such as “pull Dad off the couch”, Sunday bread making, going out for breakfast Thursday morning, and the super annoying Christmas morning picture and song at the top of the stairs (or maybe Mom is to blame for this one…?).  I also have Dad to thank for my love of books and coffee.

Mom is the most giving and supportive person I know.  I call her almost everyday on my walk home from work.  Mom is hilarious when she gets super excited (which is a lot).  My sisters and I started making fun of how she jumps up and down clapping and now we find ourselves doing it without realizing.  She gets super into games and has some really awesome celebratory dances Last year I dragged Mom around a huge outlet mall in Miami for 6 hours and she didn’t complain once.  She even bought me mini cinnamon donuts!

I am finding that I am getting more and more like Mom, and I am pretty stoked about it.

Can’t wait to see you guys! xo

KD Production menggandeng Melly Goeslaw untuk menggelar konser tunggalnya. Ia pun merogoh kocek lagi dari Rp 2 miliar untuk konser yang penuh konsep tersebut.

Bukan Melly namanya jika tak punya konsep serba aneh dan ingin sempurna. Konser bertajuk ‘Glow’ yang akan digelar 19 Agustus 2009 mendatang di Tennis Indoor Senayan tersebut pun dipersiapkan dengan serba heboh.

Sebelumnya terbongkar bahwa Melly akan mengajak serta macan ke dalam pertunjukannya. Tak hanya itu, ia juga menyiapkan enam kostum untuk satu pentas.

“Dia akan pakai baju yang ada lampunya. Itu juga memerlukan koreografer yang bisa menanganinya dengan benar,” ujar KD ditemui di Dragonfly, Graha BIP, Jakarta Selatan, Selasa (11/8/2009).

Bjork dan Madonna jadi patokan Melly untuk konsep konsernya nanti. Tak hanya dari segi penampilan, Melly juga menyiapkan visual efek yang spektakuler. Ia akan beradegan bernyanyi di dalam air setinggi enam meter.

“Untuk mendapatkan efek dramatis, Melly menyelam di kedalaman enam meter dan ditampilkan dalam visual, itu untuk mendapatkan efek slow motion,” jelas John Fair, tim kreatif Melly.

Tak cukup sampai di situ, Melly juga akan melakukan gerakan salto dan sejenisnya di atas pentas. Tentu saja semua butuh latihan dan koreografer yang tepat.

“Gerindra-lah, Rp 2 M ke atas,” tutur KD.
