É isso ai, banda Italiana novissíma, formada ano passado mas com o album saído do forno esse ano. Ex Deo é um projeto do guitarrista da Kataclysm (também muito boa, procurem ai) Maurizio Iacono, que aqui assume os vocais de uma banda que dentre outras coisas, é chamada de Epic Metal, pois as letras todas falam de Roma, patriotismo e essas coisas da época onde era só matar, esquartejar e pendurar por ai que se resolvia tudo. Belos tempos que não voltam nunca mais.

Essa foi a declaração do Sr. Maurizio “Ex Deo is more of a prestigious type of band. We’re not going to tour intensively for it, we’re not going do as much as we do for Kataklysm. Kataklysm is a world-warrior band, you know. It’s on the road constantly and more in touch with social aspects. This (Ex Deo) is more something artistic, you know.”

Ta bom, não gostou do rótulo Epic Metal, pode chamar também de Melodic Death Metal. Bem o que importa é que os caras tem a moral, eu gostei bastante e acabou o que eu tinha pra falar, já que a banda é nova.

Caraca heim, fazia tempo que eu não fazia um review decente.

Metal Blade Records announced on Friday Nov. 20, 2009 that they would be adding System Divide to their list of signed bands. System Divide is a death metal band that features members of Aborted, Malignancy and Antenora.

System Divide has completed the music video to accompany The Apex Doctrine, a track off their current EP. Metal Blade Records reports that the song and video will be on System Divide’s full-length debut. The video trailer and the tracks The Apex Doctrine and (n)Ether are available for viewing and listening pleasure on System Divide’s MySpace page.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of the Metal Blade roster, a label that has been pushing the boundaries of extreme music and putting lots of great new acts in the spot light,” said Sven De Caluwe, vocalist of System Divide in Metal Blade Record’s press release. “We know SYSTEM DIVIDE is in the hands of a competent team of driven music FANS in the first place who believe in what we do, and we’re going to give them their money’s worth!”

Metal Blade Records has yet to release when and where the video for The Apex Doctrine will premiere. Metal Blade Records also has not released the track listing and release date of System Divide’s debut full-length album The Conscious Sedation and tour dates.

System Divide was founded in the summer of 2008 as a transitional project with Caluwe of Aborted and Miri Milman previously of Distorted. Soon after, long time friends Cole Martines previously of Years of Fire and Antenora, Andrew Lenthe of Antenora and Mike Heller of Malignancy joined the project and the group set out to revolutionize the conventions of melodic death metal.

I searched online for Myanmar metal stuff last night and found a forum. With great expectations, I clicked on the link.

What I found?

They were talking about… nu-metal??? Yes, nu-metal. Frigging hell mallcore stuff like Slipknot and Marilyn Manson. There were even people who mentioned Linkin Park and Flyleaf.

Seriously! There was nothing on it but mallcore. -.-

Next one was a blog. He was talking about Slipknot and how much he likes them and on another blog was an article on Myanmar metal scene and the author was talking about Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium. Frigging Metalcore.

Why can’t they just get out of this whole mallcore thing??? Why won’t they step deeper into the depths? WHY?????

There were even some people who said,”Slipknot is Death Metal”. Ya, go die. It pisses me off when I hear people saying crap like that.

Mallcore, Nu-metal, Metalcore, BFMV, A7X, Marilyn Manson, BMTH, blah blah blah and it goes on and on and on in a never finishing mallcore whirlpool. This is what’s happening  in Myanmar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Metal albums aren’t that rare anymore. You can pretty much buy them here. (Last week I got Black Sabbath:The Dio Years and Megadeth’s Endgame.) Or you can download them via Mediafire or 4shared (which I usually do).

Still people are still drowning in the mallcore whirlpool… labeling themselves “metalheads” with Slipknot songs in their mp3 players.

Rocktower Festival Lübeck – The Easter Metalfestival 3. April 2010

On the 3rd April 2010, at 11 am, the Lübecker Musik- und Kongreßhalle and Treibsand will open their gates for the second Rocktower Festival Lübeck. The buzz starts on Friday with the metalmarket in the „Muk“ and warm-up Shows in Treibsand and Sounds.

MUK rocks. And this time it’s gonna be heavy! Now in it’s second year, the Easter Metalfestival will be raising the roof of the white house at the River Trave on Easter Saturday. Get ready for Hard Rock and Heavy-Metal fever. Thanks to the cooperation of „Treibsand”, this year we are able to present 19 national and international bands performing live. Two stages – two worlds: MuK meets Treibsand. Perfect conditions for the 14 hours concert marathon with top-class bands showcasing different styles of Metal and Hard Rock.

Appearing live are: Kalmah, Endstille, Finntroll, Powerwolf, Van Canto, Blitzkrieg, Raven, Cursed Anguish, Nastrandir, Entombed, Thunderbolt, Omen, Equilibrium, Asmodis, RAM, Roxxcalibur, Ruffians, The Devils Blood, The Rods.

Rocktower Festival Lübeck – The Easter Metalfestival 3. April 2010

Am 3. April 2010 um 11.00 Uhr öffnen die Lübecker Musik- und Kongresshalle (MuK) und das“ Treibsand“ ihre Tore für das zweite Rocktower Festival Lübeck. Und bereits am Freitag beginnt in Lübeck, mit der Metal-Börse in der „Muk“ und warm-up Shows im „Treibsand“ und im „Sounds“, der Ausnahmezustand.

Die „MuK“ rockt. Und dieses Mal wird’s richtig hart. Im zweiten Jahr erbebt das weiße Haus an der Trave am Ostersamstag im Hardrock- und Heavy-Metall-Fieber. 19 nationale und internationale Bands haben sich angekündigt. Sie spielen parallel auf zwei Bühnen: in der „MuK“ und im „Treibsand“, dem Veranstaltungsraum der „Alternative e.V.. Zwischen beiden Veranstaltungsorten liegen Welten aber nur wenige Schritte zu Fuß

Der vierzehnstündige Konzertmarathon mit hochkarätigen Bands aus verschiedenen Richtungen des Metal- und Hardrock beginnt am Sonnabend, dem 3. April 2010, um 11.30 Uhr. Tickets gibt es im Vorverkauf für 42,90 Euro, an der Abendkasse für 46 Euro.

Am Freitagabend stimmen warm-up-Shows im „Treibsand“ und im „Sounds“, An der Untertrave 81-83, auf das Marathonfestival ein. In der „MuK“ beginnt am Freitag die Metal-Börse mit Fan-Artikel-Verkaufsständen. (Weitere Infos folgen)

14.11.2009 – Leipzig, Hellraiser

Eigentlich wollte ich nicht mehr zu diesen Mammut-Konzerten gehen, die von Rock The Nation immer veranstaltet werden – Heidenfest, Paganfest, Metalfest, Schwachkoppfest und wie sie alle heissen. Wenn dort sieben Bands oder so spielen, dann spielen diejenigen, die ich sehen will, garantiert immer viel zu kurz.

Die Neckbreakers Ball-Tour entspricht da glücklicherweise mit vier Bands eher dem üblichen Tour-Schema, da lohnt sich ein Besuch schon eher.

Natürlich hatte mein Zug nach Leipzig fast eine Stunde Verspätung, so dass ich Arsis verpasst habe, ich konnte gerade noch den letzten Song hören. Vielen Dank auch, liebe Bahn. Deshalb kann ich zum Auftritt eigentlich auch nichts sagen, die paar Minuten, die ich gehört habe, waren aber überaus brauchbarer Melodic Death Metal.

Melodic Death Metal spielt auch Scar Symmetry, die nächste Band, die auf dem Programm stand – allerdings meiner Meinung nach längst nicht so gut wie das Stückchen Arsis zuvor. Von den zwei Sängern der Band ist der eine für die Growls zuständig, der andere für die cleanen Vocals – kennt man ja inzwischen. Mit den Growls ergab sich ein typischer Melodic Death Metal-Sound a la In Flames. Alles andere als originell, aber eigentlich ganz OK. Den deutlich größeren Anteil an den Songs hatte allerdings der Klargesang, und der hörte sich nach schlechtem, “cheesy” Power Metal an. Da mir sowas noch nie gefallen hat, habe ich irgendwann nur noch gewartet, bis der Auftritt vorbei ist.

Behemoth war der eigentliche Grund für meinen kleinen Ausflug nach Leipzig. Auf dem PartySan 2008 haben die Vier einen gigantischen Auftritt hingelegt – an den sind sie diesmal leider nicht herangekommen. Trotzdem waren sie für mich ganz klar die beste Band des Abends. Die typischen Elemente des Behemoth-Sounds waren natürlich auch dieses Mal wieder dabei – brutale zermalmende Riffs, fiese Growls von Nergal und die MG-mäßigen Blastbeats von Inferno. Durch die Aufmachung der Band und die Bühnendekoration wird die düstere Wirkung der Songs immer sehr schön unterstützt, auch diesesmal wieder thronte Nergal wie ein finsterer Hohepriester über der Masse. Die Show war leider viel zu schnell vorbei, wenn’s nach mir gegangen wäre, wäre Behemoth der Headliner gewesen.

Diese Position hatte allerdings DevilDriver. Den Namen hatte ich zwar vorher schon mal gehört, das war aber auch schon alles, ich habe vorher tatsächlich noch keinen einzigen DevilDriver-Song gehört, deshalb war ich einigermaßen gespannt, was mir denn da so geboten werden würde. Groove Metal, New Wave of American Heavy Metal, Melodeath – das sind so die Stichworte, die mir dazu eingefallen sind. Nach Behemoth war ich nicht wirklich in der Stimmung, mir sowas anzuhören, deshalb habe ich mich schnell an die Bar verzogen. Ein großer Teil des Publikums war aber anscheinend wegen DevilDriver da, denn während des Auftritts ging es im Saal richtig rund, mit Stagedivern und Moshpit.

So, das war jetzt der Auftakt zum vorweihnachtlichen Metal-Marathon – bis Weihnachten steht fast jedes Wochenende ein Konzert auf dem Plan. Schaumermal, wie’s weitergeht…
