If you find that you have a great deal of information stored on one of your computers and would like

If you find that you have a great deal of information stored on one of your computers and would like to transfer some of this information to another, you will find that instead of having to connect the two computers together physically, you will simply be able to plug the flash drive in, copy or transfer the information to the flash drive and put that information onto the new computer. This can be extremely handy if you find you need to move between computers on a regular basis. This is the application of flash memory. As a matter of fact, more and more people are becoming the users of flash memory drive because its large capacity and high speed..

When taking a look at how flash memory works, you will find that it stores the information that it has in a range of memory cells. These cells store one bit of information, although there are several types of newer flash memory cards available that will allow you to use multi-cell devices, which will allow you to store a lot more information. This technology is easy to write to and to write over and you will find that it is this that essentially makes flash memory so useful.

There are many kinds of flash memory drives, but we often use USB flash memory drive.

A USB flash drive is simply a portable “flash” memory card that you stick into the computer’s USB port and it acts like a smaller, easy to carry around hard drive. USB stands for universal serial bus and port just refers to the place you plug the flash drive into. USB drives are the cat’s meow when it comes to being easy to use. Just pop one in your pocket or purse and off you go. You just plug the memory drives into any computer with a USB drive. Almost a failsafe procedure provided you do know what a USB port looks like. By the way, just do we don’t muddy the waters, a USB flash drive is also called a thumb drive, jump drive, pen drive, key drive, tokens or just plain old USB drive.

AS well as other flash memory drives, the USB flash memory drive allows communication between a computer and a computer’s external (also called peripheral) devices. The whole concept of the USB was that it took over from serial and parallel ports, and made life (and gaming) a whole lot more fun. Today, the USB is “the” standard communication method for all peripherals that are “plugged” into your computer.

What is Flash Memory?

Flash memory has become an integral part of our day-to-day life. It is used in a number of different equipments and appliances that are often used by most people in their every day’s life.

Flash memory is kind of a non-volatile computer memory, which simple means the unconditional support for the memory whether or not the device is powered.

Usage of Compact Flash Memory Cards

With the advanced production of the portable electronic devices such as the digital camera, the PDA (personal digital assistant) and others, a momentous market of memory cards has been noticed in the past few decades. Many companies have come forward to produce quality assistant manufacturing of memory cards. Memory cards have empowered some of the exciting ways to strengthen popular means by which data is stored and transferred among the latest hi-tech portable device. The usability and convenience of small memory cards helps in storing and protecting a large amount of data for a long period of time.

Nowadays, different kinds of memory cards are available with different capacity and storing strength. Some portable devices were limited by the amount and quality of onboard memory power. For example, a normal digital camera could capture a relatively small amount of pictures of considerable quality. However, these days you can easily remove the onboard memory and replace it with a powerful memory card which could provide you better service and storage capacity.

Different Types of Memory Cards

In the age of technology development, several different types of memory cards are available in the market. You can find USB Flash Memory Disks, USB Flash Memory Sticks, and others to give you the leading edge. These different cards functions more or less in similar fashion. Simply press a card into a given slot on the device, and data gets encoded onto the card.

Once we plan to have a trip to exotic places or locations we haven’t seen yet, probably the fi

Once we plan to have a trip to exotic places or locations we haven’t seen yet, probably the first thing which comes to our mind is nothing but buying a glittering digital camera. Of course, we want to come back with as much memories as possible filled in our digital cameras. What did I say? Memories?

Oh! This word ‘memories’ has reminded me of a very important thing. Your fancy to snap a wide array of exotic things will cease to be reality unless you grab the right flash memory card. Of course, your ‘memories’ will depend a lot on the storage capacity of your memory card and its compatibility with the digital camera it will be used in.

Thus if you want to collect the maximum memories of those far-off places, it is not the camera but it is the type of your flash memory card that proves handy.

If you want to choose something use is used by one and all then there is no way why you should not go for an SD flash memory card. It is most famous type of flash memory card and bears the approval of varied types of customers. Thus you will come across a series of comments regarding it if you talk to your friends.

An SD flash memory card is most suitable for those digital cameras which are made for an enhanced personal use only. The SD flash memory card with a capacity of 1GB is mostly and easily available while its upgraded versions too are widely used by the frequent travelers. So if you are planning an elongated photo session then an SD flash memory card up to 4 GB is here to serve you.

However, if you belong to the around-the-world-in-80-days breed, then undoubtedly nothing but an SDHC flash memory card will come to your rescue. This comes with a thumping 32 GB storage capacity. It will meet all your ends and needs. Such a flash memory card is comprehensively compatible with a fast-paced tour. After all, who gets the time to transfer all the snaps to a computer before he/she returns home?

However, here comes a caution with the use of an SDHC flash memory card. Not all the digital cameras, on the shelves, are made to enjoy the services of this highly efficient memory card. So you might have to buy a new digital camera too along with this SDHC flash memory card. Probably, it may be a step too harsh amid this recession.

However, if you have an advanced digital camera and are searching for a flash memory card with diversified capacity then go for a CF flash memory card. This card is the most versatile one as far as its storage capacity is concerned.

A qualitative CF memory card can have a maximum of 16 GB. Remember, it can be costlier too. However, if your trip is supposed to be a shorter one then you can buy a CF flash memory card with less than half GB too. However, not all the cameras support CF cards , so be careful.

Users will find its usage in many kinds of memory card and jobs of different field. The areas in which memory card is having the usage are digital cameras, game consoles, cell phones, and industrial applications. In 1990 pc card was the first commercial memory card formats launched in the computing industry. Now these memory cards now basically used in industrial applications and in many I/O jobs showing as connection standard devices.Later many different forms of memory card emerged in the market like compactflash, smartmedia, and miniature card.Seeing the good output of memory card the small forms of memory cards were used in cell phone, games ds.The benefits of smaller cards in cell phones, pdas, and in compact digital cameras changing the cocept of using compact cards in the market.

One can see the difference of memory cards usage in many industrial fields. But then it is maintaining its consumption in cellphones and pdas. Many game consoles having the usage of proprietary solid state memory cards for keeping data. One thing which is capable of removing memory cards from the home console systems is optical discs. In this way one should have good usage of memory card by using it intelligently. The best qualitative memory cards one can purchase from the local stores or through online retailers.

It’s only a matter of time before your memory card loses its mind.

Someone deletes your pictures or formats your card by accident. You ran out of battery power while off-loading pictures, maybe you have iron-rich blood and everything you touch goes wopperjawed, gamma rays upset the memory card or maybe a brown-out electrical problem jars your photos in a bad way.

In any case, when your camera says “Card Full” when in Record Mode and it says “No Pictures” when in Playback Mode, your photos are crippled. Other times, your computer simply says, “No Photos in Recognizable Format.”

The Hawaii vacation of a lifetime, the visiting service men on leave, the reunion, that wedding, your first paid-for photo shoot, renewed vows pix in an exotic location, and the entire 2nd year of your 2-year-old child. We have recovered all of these and more for people like you.

Your pictures are precious. When you lose your pictures because of some technical issue, record no more and stop troubleshooting. Bring the card to us; we can probably save them. This week we recovered that 2nd year of a beautiful two-year-old, and irreplaceable hunting pictures as well.

Memory card is also known as flash carte memoire which is a solid state electrionic flash memory data storage device having the capability of storing digital contents. The memory card has the usages with digital cameras, handheld, mobile computers, mobile phones, music players, digital cinematography cameras, video gameconsoles, and many other electronics. The memory card provides high re-record-ability, power-free storage, small form factor, and environmental specifications. One will also find non-solid state memory cards not having the usage of flash memory. After visiting in the market consumers come across different types of memory c ards.

According to the kind of memory card the user used it in the particular jobs. Many places includes digital cameras, game consoles, cell phones, and industrial applications. The first commercial memory card was pc card launched in 1990. After this lots of memory card emerged in the market having smaller sizes such as compactflash, smartmedia, and miniature card. Not only this one might have seen the usage of many tiny memory card in cell phones, and game ds. The usage of memory card is preferrable as per the requirements of the users in specific fields. Like in many venerable pc card memory card tried its best to make its place in the market whereas memory card has the need in cell-phones and pdas market.

Now its very common that lots of game consoles were using proprietary solid state memory cards for storing data. Over the years read-only optical discs were able to replace memory card from the users of home console systems. One can see memory card in three forms such as microsoft xbox line, xbox memory unit, and xbox 360 memory unit. Normally memory card appears like portable hard disk available with superior advantages as every memory card is having flash memory technology, small form factor, and non-volatile and solid state, making the memory card more durable and reliable in comparison to hard disk drives. So consumer must have correct and fullfledge information about memory card before opting it for usage in daily life.

First impressions:
Bluetooth – as my new Android is currently my secondary device but I’m using it for my calendar along with Google Calendar, having just entered a new appointment on the Android, I hoped to have been able to send the calendar event via Bluetooth to my Blackberry (my primary device). Unfortunately, in the calendar I could find the send option, Oh well!
GPS Reciever – seems to be very receptive, picked up 10 satellites in my home town Thought that with past GPSs, I only ever picked up 6-8 satellites….
Keyboard – a useful way of entering numbers from the QWERTY keypad, is to touch your finger on the letter, then slide it down; e.g. for a ‘1’, touch on ‘Q’ and slide down.
Memory Card – a nice surprise to get a 2GB MicroSD card :-) and a nice slip case in the box.
Synchronisation – beware, if you set the ‘Auto Sync’ to be automatic: 1) Google Mail, 2) Calendar, & 3) Contacts, it does use data and a big drain on the battery throughout a relatively short space of time. I now only turn this on when I connect to my WLAN.
Touch Responsiveness – holding the ‘Pulse’ in your hand is fine, BUT unless I’m imagining it when I’ve tried to operate the ‘Pulse’ on a desk or in a car mount (ok, a good safety feature here!), the touch responsiveness seems to be almost inoperable!
Weather Forecast – a very nice feature of using the Android Calendar ‘In-Sync’ with Google Calendar is that you can have a four day weather forecast inserted listed with ‘all day’ events , showing your selected town and the predicted high/low temperatures in degrees ‘C’ or ‘F’. Also in the Google Calendar on your PC it shows a little pictorial, e.g. sun, cloud, rain etc.

Heres a new story for you, and the result might shock you. Microsoft is releasing a update for the Xbox 360 which will end up disabling the memory cards that are not recognized by Microsoft. Why is Microsoft doing this?? They believe it is an attempt to stop piracy. WHAT?!

On Microsoft’s blog, many angry gamers had a lot to say about this with the comment count already at 400. Gamers are upset because of Microsoft’s measly memory card which is $25 but has only 512 MB of memory. Other memory cards worth about $50 have been able to hold 4 GB of memory! That’s alot compared to that puny Microsoft memory card. Were not sure what’s going to happen, but well keep you updated.

These following accessories will further enhance your nokia phone:

MEMORY CARD

1. A microsd card 2 to4 GB should suffice for most users. (Go for Transcend or Amkette as they are much cheaper than nokia made memory card ).Note:some nokia phones don’t support more than 2 GB card so check up before buying.

EARPHONES

1. EARPHONE CONNECTOR

First of all you need a 2.5mm jack to 3.5 mm connector to connect your music phone to a nice earphone , which are generally of 3.5mm connector type.

Don’t try to buy the Chinese ones(comming at just 40 bucks) which damaged my nokia phone’s earphone socket.I then had to spend 200 bucks for the repairs….There’s one available from phillips at around Rs275 .This one is much better .It also has a microphone and a call button similar to nokia headsets.

EARPHONES:

A set of good quality earphones , preferably from SONY which costs you around Rs500 to Rs 1500 OR sennheiser priced between Rs500 to Rs3000 is recommended.

*the sound quality greatly improves using a SONY/SENHHEISER earphone , surpassing the SoundQuality of nokia Express music phone and it almost better than ipod in loudness and bass .

SPARE BATTERY

An extra ,spare battery will definitely come to good use if you travel a lot or just want to use your phone for 3-6 days without seeing the face of your charger again. (also trnslates to long hours of music listening and photo shooting) , original costs depend upon model to model…

I took some great pictures on the way home yesterday. I ran into one problem. My memory card was not in the camera. How the heck did that happen?!?! I thought that something like this could never happen to me. Well, it did. I recently uploaded pictures from my card to my computer and never returned it to my camera. So I was limited in the number of pictures that I could take. So remember to ALWAYS take the time to double check your equipment. It is worth the time

I wish I could update more often, because I think the things that are happening right now are worth jotting now! Since I have no time to do lengthy updates, I will just update briefly.

1) Band. Last Sunday 9 people came for practise which was an improvement! Yeah! Our president said that Cheras SGM would like to combine with us to perform and Nilai Inti College also has the same wish. WTF! Suddenly my band is so in demand! President asked us to choose who we would like to combine with, they will be coming to OUG to practise with us. Yahoo! I hate travelling to Cheras, worst still to Nilai! In the end we sorta like Cheras SGM more because they are closer to us. For me, as long as they pay some money to us to cover the hall (our practice venue) rental, I am game for anyone combining with us. But we still have to let Cheras SGM to have meeting among themselves to discuss about the combining. Weird, if they haven’t decided it, why even ask us to combine? I hope this coming Sunday we will find out more.

2) Condo. We plan to sell the old sofa and put it up on the website. There are few people calling up my bf to express interest, I hope they can make it to view the sofa and just pay us some money to get rid of the old sofa. We have started asking contractors to inspect our place and give us quotation. I would like to change all doors, change toilet doors to folding doors to save space, build a door at the study room, rebuild the bottom kitchen cabinet, and I think the most important of all, to get rid of the old layer windows and replace them with casement windows which are push-out type. BF think it’s gonna be expensive to renovate the windows, I think I would rather pay RM1k, to get many nights of sound sleep, then to suffer from the traffic noise. New coat of paint is a must too, smaller things like ceiling fan and power plug, and of course new electrical appliances. I will post all the quotations that I got when I have the time. My budget is 20k, and from the likes of it, it will be well within budget.

3) Low Blood Pressure. I can’t tell that if I am sick, or with low blood pressure. I still do not know what is going on with my body…

4) Books. I finished reading Arthur C Clarke’s Rendezvous with Rama. I think it’s a very good book! I enjoyed reading it. I love the ideas and the possibilities that it might happen…

5) My Nokia N82 has some issues with the memory card. Suddenly almost everything in my memory card is gone! All my pics and songs are gone just like that! Even my Garmin Mobile XT can’t run. AAAAAarrrrrrrghhh! I must have my GPS! It has always been my saviour! In the end I spend an hour to download and install my Garmin Mobile XT program and maps. Luckily it worked. And luckily I often copy out my pics into my pc. So it wasn’t that bad. I ended up reformat my memory card. Hope this time it won’t just wipe away all my files.

That’s all for the update. If I have the time I will write more details and put up some pictures.

Sometimes I forget to replace the memory card in the camera after importing the pictures to Lightroom on my computer. To remind myself that the SD Card in still in the PC I leave the camera on its face with the card door open. When I replace the card in the camera I close the door and place the camera upright. That’s saved me a couple of times when I am in a hurry to go out.

There are numerous ways to store photos from downloading them to your computer, copying to a CD and/or flash drive to printing and scrapbooking with them. There are even free image hosting sites and data hosting sites to which you can store your images. You can even keep them on the original memory card.

Whatever you use, make sure you back them up. I’ve seen too many folks lose their favorite family photos because their computer crashed and they hadn’t taken the time to back them up.

Personally, I prefer at least 2 ways to store my photos. I download them first to my computer, then to a CD and a flash drive (sometimes called a flash pen or flash stick). If my computer crashes, I at least have my photos stored on two other portable devices.
