Blu is a street artist from Argentina. He’s taken graffiti to a whole new level, creating animations on public walls and sidewalks. Creative Genius – Hell Yes.

Not only did he work in the less-than-ideal environment of the sidewalk, but it meant that he couldn’t have more than one frame in existence at a time, with no possibility of reworking old frames or sketching out new ones. Once the frame was shot, the work was destroyed. Amazing!

Sexta-feira. Primeiro post.

As coisas estão razoavelmente tranqüilas por aqui. Ao menos por enquanto.

A edição está encaminhada. A maior parte dos textos estão comigo para diagramar, faltam apenas alguns. Estamos ouvindo mais uma vez o álbum indicado para finalizar as críticas. Sobre a diagramação, estou brigando com o computador aqui para conseguir finalizar o caderno. [ueahuaehuea] Temos a capa e as páginas 2, 3 e 8 prontas. As páginas 6 e 7 estão encaminhadas. Estou trabalhando na 4 e 5.

Bem, voltemos ao trabalho então. [heheheh] Mas primeiro, o vídeo de hoje é uma animação pintada nas paredes e ruas de Buenos Aires e Baden. O vídeo se chama MUTO e foi digido por BLU, produzido pela Mercurio Film e sonorizado por Andrea Martignoni. Enjoy!

Wow.  Seven and a half minutes of stop motion illustration… that’s well over 2,000 still frames, or more impressively, 2,000 separate drawings.  And they’re all fascinating.  I love the organic, fluid motion of the subjects alongside the handheld jumpiness of the camera.  Cynical Gaby says it’s just a matter of time before someone pinches the idea and makes a vapid 30-second TVC version for a floor and wall cleaner.

This is amazing.  Not just the time and energy, but music editing, thought-provocation (is that even a phrase?) and his openness to sharing the video.  Of course, each viewing promotes his work, but the thought counts.
