A maioria das pessoas querem se dar bem na vida – ter uma vida confortável, um bom emprego, de preferência um que não trabalhe muito. E para isso escolhem diversos caminhos. Alguns se contentam só com um emprego numa boa fábrica, outros preferem ficar morando com a mamãe até os trinta e poucos anos, ainda tem os que se aventuram no paciente jogo dos concursos públicos, e haja paciência para esperar ser chamado. E além de todos esses temos o vestibulando. Aquela pessoa que se enfia por um ou mais anos dentro de um cursinho (para algumas pessoas esse mais é BEM MAIS).

Entre os vários sofrimentos do mundo está a angústia de um vestibulando. Sabe que você fica angustiado quando a camisinha estoura e você fica rezando pra menstruação chegar logo ou o exame dar negativo? Então, pensa nessa sensação durante o ano todo. O medo de saber se vai dar ou não vai dar certo… É, o vestibulando sofre!

Mas gostaria de separar bem as coisas. Não estou falando aqui de qualquer vestibulando. Não é nenhum desses que perde o RG na porta da UNIBAN e recebe em casa o comprovante de matrícula e um certificado de sócio da Kun-klux-klan. Não, Senhor! Estou falando do vestibulando que passa por 4 fases durante toda sua vida “vestibulesca”. Fases que no total duram pelo menos um ano.

Sem mais delongas, vamos aos fatos:

1ª Fase – A idéia

É nessa fase que o vestibulando tem a genial idéia de ingressar em uma universidade.

Os motivos para isso variam. Ele pode ter acabado de iniciar o ensino médio, e depois de já ter escutado desde o jardim de infância seus pais fazerem pequenos comentários como “Vê se estuda e entra na USP, senão o bicho vai pegar pro seu lado” ou “Olha meu bebê, que guti-guti! Se você estudar direitinho e entrar na faculdade, papai te dá um carro”… Resolve que entra numa boa universidade é uma boa!

Mas pode também ter terminado o ensino médio e depois de ter visto que achar um emprego não é tão fácil, decide enfiar a cara nos livros.

Lembra quanto te perguntavam “o que você vai ser quando crescer?”. Era melhor você ter dito “GRANDE”. Pois é nessa fase que você descobre que pra ser o que sonhou tem que estudar. E na maioria dos casos, estudar muito!

Então você decide entrar em um cursinho!

2ª Fase – É hora de “ralar”!

Procura, então, um cursinho. Que alias, tem para todos os bolsos. Desde bolsos recheados com notinhas azuis com um peixinho atrás, até aqueles bolsos zuados que só servem para carregar papel inútil e a chave do barraco.

E no começo do cursinho você começa a ralar. Tudo o que o professor falar você anota em seu caderninho novinho que você comprou especialmente para isso. Faz todos os exercícios. Lê de tudo. Até bula de remédio. Mas é claro, isso no primeiro mês, pois um ou dois meses depois já está até dormindo na aula.

Nesse fase você começa a mudar e não percebe. Seus amigos te chamam pra sair e o que você diz? “Tenho que estudar!”. Quando você resolve sair com eles o único assunto que vem à sua cabeça é a crise mundial, a questão palestina, o prêmio Nobel do Obama, e a importância das angiospermas para o equilíbrio ambiental… Todos te olham diferente e os únicos que passam a te suportar é o próprio pessoal do cursinho.

É nessa fase, também, que você descobre que raiz quadrada é um número e não a raiz de uma árvore careta. Que evolução não é o seu bichinho virtual aprender a comer sozinho e que esse seu cabelo ruim é culpa de um de seus pais. Amina não é aquela garota, e anel aromático não é um “forebis” cheiroso. Passa a chamar sal de cozinha de cloreto de sódio na hora do jantar só para impressionar a vovó que esta à mesa, só que percebe que corrigir os erros de português da sua mãe na frente de visitas não pega muito bem.

É! Essa é uma fase difícil e pouco compreendida.

3ª Fase – A Véspera

E depois de ter estudado pra caramba ao longo de todo ano você chega na hora da verdade. A véspera!

Esse é um momento desesperador. Voce acha que não estudou o suficiente. Acredita que não sabe nada, e o pior, não sabe o que fazer. Continuar estudando feito um louco desesperado, decorar todas aquelas fórmulas de física? Ou relaxar? Ai você decide relaxar. Aluga um filme e começa a assistir. Fala se na o vai batendo aquele arrependimento. Vão ser quase duas horinhas de filme que você começa a imaginar tudo o que você estaria estudando. “Nesse tempo dá pra mim estudar pelo menos uns dois capítulos de química orgânica, entender todo o quadro histórico da América latina no século XX, e ainda ler duas obras da Fuvest”… Então você resolve desligar o filme e ir estudar.

Na véspera também todos os arrependimentos surgem. Você fica lembrando de todas as vezes que dormiu até mais tarde e que deveria ter acordado para estudar. Lembra daquela festa que foi e fica pensando em todas as coisas que você teria aprendido se tivesse ficado em casa. É duro!

Nesse dia você também deve deixar tudo planejado para o dia da prova. Que horas sair de casa, o que levar, que ônibus pegar (para aqueles que vão de ônibus, é claro). Tem que pensar em todas as possibilidades. Vai que você dorme demais, tipo, acordar umas 3 horas da tarde, ou os ônibus resolvem entrar de greve bem nesse dia, ou ainda que você pegue um motorista que dirija parecendo sua tia-avó. Pense em tudo e não esqueça nada. Caneta, lápis, borracha, água, chocolate, salgadinho fofura (o cheiro desconcentra qualquer um). E mulheres, nunca confiem no seu ciclo menstrual. Fica a dica!

4ª Fase – Entre a prova e o resultado

Essa é uma fase de grande angústia. Cara, além de ter encarado um ano todo de estudos, o desespero da véspera, o sofrimento em achar que todos são seus concorrentes no dia da prova (principalmente os japoneses), você ainda vai ter que esperar cerca de um mês ou mais para ter os resultados. Nunca as suas férias de janeiro demoraram tanto pra passar! É muito chato. Você entra nos sites das faculdades mais do que no seu próprio Orkut, na esperança deles adiantarem os resultados, mesmo sabendo que o resultado só sai daqui algumas semanas. É de enlouquecer!

Mas posso te dizer, esse é um sacrifício que vale a pena. Se você sobreviver a tudo isso é capaz de suportar até uma sogra chata, pernilongo no ouvido em dia de calor, o trânsito de São Paulo, unha encravado e o horário eleitoral gratuito, que aliás, você estará livre, pois, ou estará estudando na faculdade de seus sonhos ou começando tudo novamente, só que agora com mais experiência… Viu como tudo tem um lado positivo?!

Um dos melhores programas da tv, a fazenda estreiou a sua nova temporada no dia 15 de novembro de 2009, eu só postei hoje pq foi hoje que eu lembrei que esse tema daria um post divertido mas continuando nessa nova edição os participantes na minha singela opinião nao foram TAO bem escolhidos, eles são mais famosos do que os participantes da primeira edição que entraram no aninimato porem nao tao engraçados como a Mirela e tão legais quanto a Fabiana. Nessa nova temporada temos: alguns ex globais como o Igor Cotrin (sandy & Junior ^^); ex dançarinas como a loira do Tchan; ex Bandeirinha como a Ana Paula Oliveira; ex nadador Xuxa; ex cantores: Mauricio maniere e Mc Leozinho (se ela dança eu danço) e ex do dudu nobre: Bombom… resumindo esses cast da fazenda é só ex! hihihi >risoscontido<

A Fazenda é um reality show brasileiro da Rede Record criado originalmente na Suécia pela produtora Strix nomeado The Farm. Dificuldades e prazeres da vida simples do campo colocarão à prova o casting de famosos, havendo somente um vencedor no final. A primeira temporada estreou no dia 31de Maio de 2009 e a segunda nodia 15de Novembro de 2009, e contou com a apresentação do jornalista Britto Júnior. O programa é apresentado diariamente e mostra pessoas famosas tirando leite de vaca, mexendo com a terra e se envolvendo nos afazeres de uma fazenda.

 There are many factions who want to split from Karnataka. These include some people who are demanding that Belgaum be given to Maharashtra, Kodagu be given autonomy and Karwar to join Goa.

 I spoke to a the heads of these factions.

Vijay More, Former Belagaum Mayor and leader of  Maharashtra Ekkikarana Sangha

Belgaum which has a huge Marathi speaking populace and people feel that the district should be allowed to join Maharashtra. “We have our own language and culture, which is not respected by Karnataka. There was a mistake during the formation of states, and we Marathis in Belgaum are suffering because of this. We are not against Karnataka or Kannadigas, we just want to safeguard our language and culture. Karnataka is forcing Kannada on us,” said Vijay More, former Belgaum Mayor and leader of Maharashtra Ekkikarana Sangha.

The matter of Belgaum wanting to join Maharashtra is in the Supreme Court. “We will honour the court verdict. But the Supreme Court has also given an order that official documents should be in the language which people speak. Here the documents are in Kannada and most of the people don’t know to read if. If the property documents are in Kannada how will a Marathi person living here read it? He has to go to a Kannada knowing person who may cheat him,” he said.

More feels that the development of Belgaum was also ignored by the Karnataka government. “The Karnataka government has a step motherly attitude towards Belgaum. If not, the district would have been much ahead,” he said. He is also against the Karnatala government building a Vidhana Soudha in Belgaum, since the matter is still in court.

Kannada Rakshana Vedike (KRV) members had painted More black with tar at the Legislator’s house near Vidhana Soudha two years ago. “We are asking for our right in a non-violent way. But the KRV is using unlawful means to subdue us,” he said.

 N U Nachappa, Secreatary-General, Codava National Council

The Codavas for a long time were demanding that the Kodagu district be made into an

independent state. But now they are demanding an autonomous homeland status. “We Codavas are a different race and live in a compact area. Codagu is made of 45 Kodava nads or clusters of villages which were ruled by chieftains. We have our own language and a distinct culture which is very different from that of the Kannadigas. Even our almanac is different. But Kanndigas are imposing their language on us. So to safeguard or language and culture, we need the autonomy,” said Nachappa, Secreatray, Codava National Council.

Nachappa says that the Karnataka government has changed most of the names in Kodava language to Kannada. “They have changed the name of our festival Puttari to Huttari. Putta means new and Ari means rice. What means has Huttari has? They have also changed the names of places. The Karnataka government calls us Malanadu Kannadigas, but we are not Kannadigas. It is the same as calling Kurds living in Syria or Iran as mountain Turks, which they are opposed to. Leave alone being Kannadigas, we are not even Hindus. We worship the natural forces and have no Gods,” he said.

Nachappa also feels that they have no big state to look up to for support. “The Marathis in Belgaum have Maharasthra which safeguard the Marathi language. The Konakanis in Karwar have Goa. But we have no big state to protect our language,” he said.

He also feels that the development of Kodagu was neglected, and the reservation system in elections is further affecting the development of the district. “Because of the reservation system, even a person from Kolar can come and contest for even panchayat elections,” he said.

 Asha Palankar, Convener, Goa Konkani Rajya Ekikaran Manch

The Konkani speaking belt of Kawar, Haliyal and Supa are also demanding that they be joined with Goa. “Injustice has been done to us in 1956. Our roots are in Goa, which was ruled by the Portuguese. But Goa got independence in 1961, and Konkani areas which were ruled by the British were added to Karnataka,” she said.

Palankar feels that the Karnataka government is imposing Kannada on them and the Konkani still do not live in an Independent India. “We feel that we are still under the Portuguese who had tried to impose their culture and language on us. The Karnataka government is doing the same thing. Our temples have names written in Devanagiri script. But when renovations are made, the Kannadigas ensure that the same names are written in Kannada. They are forcing our children to learn Kannada in schools. Konkani is not taught,” she said. Official documents which are written in Kannada. “When the Kannada Rakshana Vedike members hit me with eggs, I wanted to file a police complaint, and the police insisted that I write the complaint in Kannada. When I insisted that I would write it in Konkani, the cop said that he would write it in Kannada and I had to sign it. How can I trust whatever he writes when I don’t know the language,” she said.

As for the development of Karwar, she feels that it is neglected and that most of the officials are also Kannadigas. “This has forced many Karwaris to migrate to Goa and Maharasthra. They build houses here and come only for vacations,” she said.

  The movement to merger Karwar with Goa gained momentum in 1992, when the Konkani language was added in the VIII schedule of the constitution. “Now we have approached the Supreme Court, and hope to get justice,” she said.

Last Friday(13th Nov 2009), when i was chatting to a friend, incidentally he mentioned that college is suspended indefinitely. I was amazed to hear that since its long time my old college had any serious problem to shut themselves down. Before everyone was saying the smooth running of college is impaired by so called political(?) activities of student. Management brought a new principal to crunch the political activities and he was able to crush the activities to a large extend(mainly by helping only one gang). So, for last two years, gang wars of the scale mentioned here was absent in the college. Only small scale scratchings were there.

I simply asked him what happened. The reply was interesting. In a college, where authorities now claim that there are no political activities which impaired the academic and cultural activities, a new gang war happened. A new gang of students identifying themselves as “Amigoz” were beaten up by students of Mechanical Engineering dept.(interestingly, amigo is the spanish for Friend and friends was the name of the Mechanical sympathisers when i was in college). What happened is pretty simple, the so called “amigoz” decided to celebrate “amigo day” on 12th of November(technically “amigo day” or “Día del Amigo” or “friends day” is on July 20th). I don’t exactly know how. May be some cultural event or something like that and it seems Mechanical students tried to gate crash it. But it seems some local amigos(read friends) and police deflected them(as an effect the “all mighty” mechanicals lost their face ). So the p***** of mechanicals decided to take revenge on the amigoz and did what any other 18 year old will usually do. They just walked into the ECE block and bashed up any “amigoz” or their amigos. There were many injuries and a proud mech. soldier(lowest rank in old NY gangs) was injured from a broken window and got admitted in hospital too. As usual police arrived after the show. Now comes the better part, the sympathisers of “amigoz” in the locality warned students and management promptly suspended the college activities.

Now, everyone might be thinking what is so big in this! Actually nothing, its the normal stuff happening in any college around Kerala, sometimes it comes with the label of a political clash and becomes 40pt headlines in newspapers. Otherwise it ends up like this. I can’t spot any difference between the clashes in Nov 2007 and this. But then it was a big reason for college to convince themselves and any authority that elections to the student bodies in college and the political(?) activity related to it was the root cause.Politics and student freedom were cursed and made look like the biggest daemon haunting the college.

There were no elections held to the student union and as an effect no cultural activities were planned or conducted for last two years(still management is collecting the 500 Rs. for the non existing union activity from every student!). That means, as an effect of some gang wars, which had no remote relation to any political activity, the only student body in college got extinct, saying this will end all the fights in the campus. Did anything happened to the gang wars, no. So, who are the ultimate losers, every student of the college!

This incident just shows that, banning of the political activity in college and taking strong measures against exercising any democratic freedom haven’t changed the situation even a little, so now i can’t understand why college authorities is not ready to go forward with elections to the student body. I think the answer is, its not fights they fear. Its that, students participating in democratic activities might realize that they have some basic rights and might stand for it. Authorities fear the days when a student decides to stand up for what is his.

P.S: If i haven’t got any facts right here, just let me know, i will try to fix it.
P.S1: everything i wrote here are my thoughts, feelings and observations everyone has a right to disagree with it.

I was sitting behind a truck this morning, waiting to make a left. The truck had 2 distinct sets of bumper stickers. On the left side were stickers for the Marines; on the right, the stickers were for the Navy. And, today being Veteran’s Day, I had to stop and think about the service and sacrifice that this family was making for our country.

I’m a mom. My children are not of age yet for service, but I could imagine the sacrifice that this mother was going through every day with two of her children in the service. It’s an active wartime and it’s likely that they might be in harm’s way.

The military is unique in that the recruit and their family both have the service and the sacrifice. Most choices that we make affect others, but is there any that’s as widespread in its effect as this? As proud as parents might be for their children to make a choice to join the armed services, they must also carry concern.

So today, no sales pitch, no witty commentary, no opining on anything in particular. Today, I want to say thank you to all of those who have served and do serve this country so proudly. You have made the largest sacrifice imaginable just in your choice and I wish you all Godspeed home safely. A single day could not possibly voice how important what you do is to all of us. Thank you.

En toen kwam mijn mama binnen. Op het moment dat ik het vlijmscherpe mes op mijn polsen wou zetten. Het mes had nog niet eens mijn lichaam geraakt of ze stond ineens aan mijn deur. “Wat doe je daar?” riep ze luid. “Euhm” fluisterde ik zachtjes. Ik probeerde ter plekke wat te verzinnen, maar geraakte niet verder dan “euhm, hmmz en tja”. Ze zuchtte. “Wat is er toch aan de hand met jou, Alimonia” zei ze op een rustigere toon terwijl ze zich naast mij neer kwam zetten.

Ik zei niets en keek haar met droevige ogen aan.

“Geen idee” ging ik verder. “Ik wil niet meer…” snikte ik. “Wat wil je niet meer?”, vroeg ze. “Zeg het mij” dreigde ze zelfs een beetje. Ik haalde mijn schouders op. “leven” zei ik haar. “Maar meid toch” zei ze terwijl een paar tranen over haar gezicht rolden. Ze probeerde mij vast te nemen, maar ik liet haar niet toe. Ik hou niet meer van knuffels. Ik ben kieskeurig. Ik hou er niet van dat mensen mij aanraken.

“Wat is er toch?” probeerde ze nog een keer. Ik kon niet veel zeggen. Want ik praat al weken niet meer. Niet echt. Ik gebruik woorden en zet ze in een volgorde zodat een zin wordt gevormd. Maar ze betekenen niets. Het is maar opvulsel van stilte. En dus liet ik haar mijn gedichten lezen. Mijn verhalen zonder einde.

Ze weende.

Maar ik lachte.
“Ik ben gelukkig moeder”, fluisterde ik haar toe. Maar ze geloofde me niet en ging weg.

Met het mes.

O Preguiçoso
Os que querem ajudar o ambiente e poupar algum dinheiro, mas sem fazerem grande esforço, podem, por exemplo, pôr as máquinas de lavar loiça e roupa a trabalhar só à noite, desligar o forno dez minutos antes, escolher um LCD em vez de um plasma, e desligar os televisores da ficha e o computador quando não está a ser utilizado.

Electrodomésticos à parte, podem manter o carro livre de pesos inúteis, fazer pelo menos uma refeição por semana com sobras de comida do dia anterior e passar a usar sempre o mesmo saco para as compras de supermercado.

Só nestas medidas, e de acordo com os cálculos da «Visão», é possível poupar até 816,55 euros por ano, ou seja, 68,05 euros por mês.

O Consciente
Este tipo de consumidor junta às medidas do «Preguiçoso» um frigorífico novo de categoria A+, e corta o consumo de água em 30%. Lá em casa, só aceita lâmpadas de baixo consumo, opta por um portátil em vez de um desktop, e usa pilhas recarregáveis.

Por ser tão consciente, este consumidor aquece a casa através de um sistema de gás natural (em vez de acumuladores eléctricos) e partilha o carro com dois vizinhos no percurso para o emprego.

Com todas estas medidas, a «Visão» calcula ser possível poupar até 2.193,22 euros por ano, ou 182,8 euros por mês.

O Fanático
Este está mesmo empenhado em poupar o ambiente. Tanto que junta às medidas dos outros dois, mais algumas. Para começar, não anda de carro. Vai de moto ou transportes públicos para o trabalho. Utiliza um painel solar para aquecer a água, é microprodutor de energia eléctrica através de um sistema fotovoltaico ou eólico e, no limite, troca a casa por uma com certificação energética A+.

O fanático poupa até 6.072,22 euros por ano ou 506 euros por mês. De acordo com a «Visão», estes resultados são obtidos após a amortização do investimento inicial nos painéis solares e fotovoltaicos, de 23.094 euros.

I’m having a bad day.

Actually, I’m just tired, and my work is suffering. It happens to all of us, doesn’t it? Something wakes you in the middle of the night, a problem keeps you from falling to sleep, or you’re feeling under the weather. Sometimes you lie there watching the clock tick by, minute by minute until it’s almost time to get up.

Whatever the reason, it will affect your work today.

We never want to admit it, but even your A-team players have days where they are less productive. They will make errors, or not perform as you expect. Those are the days you worry about. As for your B-team, we won’t even talk about how disinterest or lack of excitement about the work at hand might affect them.

Why?

 Because you’re in manufacturing and you know that errors in manufacturing are a serious business. They mean lost productivity, sure, but that’s difficult to measure. Right now, you’re more worried about the errors than the slow downs. No matter how slow you perform, if what’s coming out of assembly and test is accurate, you can at least ship it.

But what are you going to do with all that scrap? Did you know it was even there? Your production operations cannot be flawless unless you have something measuring, testing and eliminating the possibility of human error. That something could be computer software.

It’s what we do, so of course it makes sense to me that it works, and works well. Perhaps you aren’t a fervent believer. Tell me, how else will you make sure that someone on the floor, that same someone who couldn’t sleep last night or is feeling a little tired or sick but came to work anyway, has done everything correctly? How will you ensure that the product produced is the one ordered, the exact one that the customer ordered, with all the correct assemblies and parts and tolerances?

 I don’t know how you possibly could. Now, I’m sorry if I’ve given you something else to keep you up tonight or to worry about. ——O piano teve origem em 1474 e foi criado por Robert Andersan. Mas a primeira referência sobre o piano foi publicada em 1711, no “Giornale dei Litterati d’Italia”. A partir desse momento sucedem-se uma série de aperfeiçoamentos até chegar ao piano actual. A essência da nova invenção, residia na possibilidade de dar diferentes intensidade aos sons e por isso recebeu o nome de “piano-forte” (que vai do pianíssimo ao fortíssimo) e mais tarde, reduzido apenas para piano.

——Os pianos modernos, embora não se diferenciem dos mais antigos no que se refere aos tons, trazem novos formatos estéticos e de materiais que compõem o instrumento. Um piano é um instrumento musical de corda percutida.

——Embora seja definido modernamente como um instrumento de percussão, o piano não pode ser considerado desta maneira, pois não possui função rítmica.
