World Cup hangover

What a week for the Argentines! Messi scores two amazing goals to start off Barca’s 2014-2015 La Liga campaign in the same game where Mascherano picks up his first red card of the season; Sergio Aguero, who is still on his way to full recovery, also scores two goals in two matches as a supersub: one against Newcastle, after coming in at the 82 minute mark and scoring on the first minute of extra time (meaning he was less than 10 minutes on the pitch before cementing Manchester City’s win) and another, a Premier League record, scoring within 23 seconds after coming off the bench; Di Maria becomes the “most expensive British import” after a £60 million record transfer from Real Madrid to Manchester United where he will join La Seleccion teammate Marcos Rojo, signed earlier in the week for £16 million from Sporting Lisbon; Federico Fernandez also moves to the Premier League via Swansea; and even Pablo Zabaleta scores, albeit an own goal, to give Liverpool its lone goal against Manchester City. 31 more words
