Distance: 5.39 miles

Elevation gain: 606 feet by GPS.

Place: 99th, 9th team

Mud quotient: 3 (on a scale of 0 to 10, 0 being perfectly dry and 10 being no solid footing whatsoever). Mostly dry, slightly slimy through the wooded portion of the race (the stretch by the railroad track). Used 15mm spikes, probably could have gone with something a little shorter.

Notable: Runner tripped on one of the ankle-high flags marking the course right behind me, then I did nearly the same about a half-mile later. Race much longer than the 8 kilometer standard.

Results not available online yet. Data here.
