What is meta tag? A meta tag is a special HTML tag that provides information about a Web page. Unlik

What is meta tag?

A meta tag is a special HTML tag that provides information about a Web page. Unlike normal HTML tags, meta tags do not affect how the page is displayed. Instead, they provide information such as who created the page, how often it is updated, what the page is about, and which keywords represent the page’s content. Many search engines use this information when building their indices.

How to use HTML Meta Tags

What are Meta tags? They are information inserted into the “head” area of your web pages. Information in the head area of your web pages is not seen by those viewing your pages in browsers. Instead, Meta

Information in this area is used to communicate information that a human visitor may not be concerned with. Meta tags, for example, can tell a browser what “character set” to use or whether a web page has self-rated itself in terms of adult content.

Let’s see two common types of meta tags, then we’ll discuss exactly how they are used in more depth.

<HEAD>

<TITLE>Stamp Collecting World</TITLE>

<META name=”description” content=”Everything you wanted to know about stamps, from prices to history.”>

<META name=”keywords” content=”stamps, stamp collecting, stamp history, prices, stamps for sale”>

</HEAD>

In the example above, you can see the beginning of the page’s “head” area as noted by the HEAD tag — it ends at the portion shown as /HEAD.

Meta tags go in between the “opening” and “closing” HEAD tags. Shown in the example is a TITLE tag, then a META DESCRIPTION tag, then a META KEYWORDS tag. Let’s talk about what these do.

Stop Worrying About Meta Tags, let’s Learn Together

PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + … + PR(Tn)/C(Tn))

1.1.2.- Enlaces entrantes: Texto ancla

Vayamos atando cabos.

<a href=”http://www.enlace.com”>Texto ancla</a>

<title>Tutorial de posicionamiento web, parte I: El gran artista universal</title>

1.3.- Encabezados H1, H2, H3, …

<img src=”imagen.jpg” width=”100″ height=”100″ alt=”descripción de imagen”>

1.7. – Etiqueta KEYWORDS

<strong>Texto importante</strong>

What exactly does Google think about poorly matched or missing meta title and description tags?

Did you know? Google has the capability to change/modify your site page tags–description/search snippet AND page title– if they can build a better search result…good? bad? ugly?

What do the TITLE and page DESCRIPTION meta tags look like in your page html? Here’s an example:

<title>Buy Bass Fishing Lures Online</title>

<meta name=”description” content=”Search our online catalog and buy bass fishing lures, including crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and neon plastic worms. Blah, blah, blah…”/>

Ideally the title tag shows up as a keyword-optimized top line and the description tag — also keyword-optimized– as the search “snippet”– like this….

In this particular example, when your site is optimized and you’re driving traffic you are potentially well-positioned to rank well for the keyphrase,

buy bass fishing lures

buy bass fishing lures online

or something closely related.

Keyword-optimized page title and description are what Google “looks” for when matching a search query to your content. If your keywords are buried in the page, absent from your title and description tag, OR if you have no tags at all, Google could do one of two things:

1. ignore your content altogether because it fails to match the searcher’s query

OR

2. modify your title tag and search result “snippet” with content snagged from deeper within your page. “They” can replace your lousy or completely absent description tag with something the search engine deems relevant. Matt Cutts calls these “useful titles and useful snippets.” And apparently this has been a Google “policy” for some time.

Yes…they can modify title tags.

Here’s the official lowdown on “Google can modify title and search snippets” from Matt Cutts:

This article is geared towards the Homestead Sitebuilder user however, the Information included in this article is beneficial to web design and SEO regardless of what software you use.

INTRODUCTION:

When police officers are searching for a suspect, they usually tell people the suspects height, eye color, skin color and what the suspect was wearing. The reason for this is so that when someone locates a person that matches that identity they can report it to the police and the police can find exactly who they are searching for.

Meta Tags for a website work the exact same way. When you set up the meta tags for your website, it is almost like you are giving your website an identity and when the “Google Police” (also called spiders) are searching for a suspect that matches the identity of your website and they find yours, Google will consider your site a possible match for the search and then place you on a line up with 9 other suspects and allow the victim (person searching the internet) to select who the lucky winner is.

Meta Tags are an important piece of source code for your website. They consist of the Meta “Title” Tag, Meta “Description” Tag and Meta “Keywords” Tag. In addition to the content on your website, Meta tags play a very important part in the SEO process of your website. In the following paragraphs I will explain each meta tag in depth to give you a better understanding of how they work and will also show you how to properly set up the meta tags for your website using Homestead Sitebuilder.

META TAG: “TITLE TAG”

Google judges books by their covers; and in this case, your title tag is your book’s cover (well, website’s cover). The Title Tag (also called “Page Title) is probably the most important meta tag of them all. The Page Title is what you see in bold writing when you are looking at search engineresults pages (SERP’s). -See image below for example.

Setting up your title tag:

You may now be wondering, “How do I set up my Title Tags?” Well, here’s the answer! When you are editing a page in HS Sitebuilder, you will see a link in the top toolbar that says “Page info” When you click on it and see the page info on the right hand side, you will see a section labeled “PAGE TITLE”. (located near the top of the right side). This is where you will enter your “Page Title aka. Meta Title Tag”

When deciding what to enter for your title tags, you really want to make sure you focus on the main keyword/key phrase that you are targeting for that page on your website. For example: If you are a Fence Company in Detroit, Michigan; You may want your web page to focus on the key phrase “Fence Company in Detroit Michigan“.

A good Title Tag for such a company may be “Fence Company in Detroit Michigan – Installation and Supplies“. NOTE: that a page title should be approx. 70 Characters long.

A lot of companies like to place their company name in the title tag. In my professional opinion and experience, you will benefit a million times more if you develop your title tag according to key phrases included in your content rather than place your company name there. If you absolutely MUST place your company name in your title tag, PUT IT AT THE END!

META TAG: “DESCRIPTION TAG”

The meta description tag is what appears below the page title in the SERP’s. (SERP’s also use some of the content that is on the page and not necessarily always the meta description).

When considering what to put in your page description (Meta Description Tag), you want to make sure you place your pages main Keyword(s)/Key Phrase(s) along with a good description of what can be found on that page. The page description should be typed in proper sentences and sound natural. DO NOT just stuff your page description with a bunch of keywords because Google and other search engines have been known to penalize websites that do this.

A good page description for the fence company example above would be: “Fence Company in Michigan offering fence installation, sales and supplies in vinyl, wood, chain link, steel and aluminum“. NOTE: Page description should be approx. 150 characters long.

This description keeps the focus on the main key phrase “Fence Company in Michigan” and also lets the search engines know that they can find more information about fence installation, sales and supplies with a number of different kinds of fence materials. This kind of Page Description would seduce search engines to pick this website as a candidate in the SERP’s because the Title Tag and The Page Description indicate that this page is relevant to a search about fencing in michigan.

How to setup up the Description Tags in HS Sitebuilder:

In the page info section (where you enter the Page Title), you will notice a tab at the top that says “Meta Tags”. You must click on the “Meta Tags” tab in order to get to the PAGE DESCRIPTION section. After clicking on the Tab, you will see the Page Description section and the text box that will allow you to enter your description in it. Make sure you save and publish after you are finished setting up your meta tags.

META TAGS: META KEYWORDS

It is to my understanding that Google does not even consider the Meta Keywords anymore; however, some other search engines may, and Google might in the future so it is still a good idea to set them up.

When setting up your keywords/phrases, you really want to focus on between 2 – 10 keywords/phrases that are highly relevant to the content on your page. For example, if our fence company page was talking all about vinyl fence, we would want some keywords/phrases to be:

Vinyl Fence Company Michigan

Vinyl fence installation Michigan

Vinyl Privacy Fence Michigan

Vinyl Gates Michigan

vinyl fence supplies Michigan

etc, etc, etc.

These would be pretty good key phrases for our vinyl fence company web page because they are all about vinyl fencing in michigan.

How to set up Meta Keywords in Homestead Sitebuilder:

While you are still in the “Page info” section; below the page description section you will see the “Keywords” area. It is in that text box that you will want to enter your keywords. NOTE: Divide keywords with a comma followed by a space. (example: fence, gates, wood fence, chain link supplies, installation)

There are plenty of other things you can do during the SEO process that will help increase your search engine rankings, however, we will explain those another time. I hope this article gives you a better understanding of Meta Tags and allows you to properly set them up with Homestead Sitebuilder.

We are currently implementing even more serious SEO enhancements on the European Affairs web service

We are currently implementing even more serious SEO enhancements on the European Affairs web services site www.webdialogue.eu. Realising that the traffic was not strong enough we have implemented web pages of much more condenced search engine friendly content. That means first of all more text per page, so that www.Google.com and others find our sites more relevant to searchers – instead of many pages with little content, which is hard for search engines to display to users.

Then of cause we are looking into making much more link buidling on our pages. That means links from our sites to the external web, and links between our pages internally, and links to anchors on the very same page. All this is stuff that Google loves, so of cause we please them.

Then we focus on increasing the number and quality of selected keyword and key phrase themes on our pages. As you might know search engines measure, index and count the way you use words on your pages. The more you use business relevant niche keyword and key phrases on your site – the bigger chance of high search position in your particular business niche.

This effort of cause has to be reflected in the way you write your meta tags.
Part of this work is also to write alt texts to your images. And we could go on with lots more ideas.

Any comments to this ? Or maybe you need help with your pages…

Meta tags are html codes that are snippets of informational code that is located between your <HEAD> </HEAD> tags that are apart of your HTML document you’ve generated.

There are many types of meta tags that are used on websites. Most webmasters seem to think that some of these tags will help with their rankings in the search engines. For examples back in the 90’s when you stuffed the keyword tags with: steak seasoning, poultry seasoning, steak spices seasoning, etc… with as many keywords as possible. Your site would have ranked for one of those food seasoning terms alone. Fortunately, nowadays you can’t do that, thats just spamming. Google will penalize your website.

We speak highly of Google, because they are the Man! Yahoo and Bing follows. Understanding Google crawls of meta tags alone will not raise your search rankings. But will follow instructions on the webpage, here are some examples:

Googlebot: no follow - does not allow Google to pass any Page Rank or link popularity to the link served.

Meta Title tag is used to declare the title of the page. (Profitable Restaurant Start Ups)

Meta Description tag gives a description of the document. (Install West Coast Vinyl Windows)

Meta Keywords tag used to define the content of your site. (Blackberry parts)

These are important meta tags to have on your page, Google will read, index, and obey.

Meta tags is one of the basic areas that CMOs overlook or do not know about. You can look at the M

Meta tags is one of the basic areas that CMOs overlook or do not know about. You can look at the Meta Tags of your website from the back-end of the code, this can also be done to look at your competitor websites meta tags for this important information. You should also do this for all pages, not just your home page.

Here is where to look to see your meta tags:

1: Open the website page you want to see the meta tags for.

2: Go to the outlook tool bar and click on View,

2: Then click on Source. This will bring up the back-end HTML code for that page of the website.

3: Now look towards to the top of the code for the words: Title: read what it says, since this is what Google is seeing. Be sure to use all of this valuable marketing area.

4: Next look for Meta name Description, Read those words,does it match the message you want for your company to be found under.

5: Read the Meta Keywords. This will give you what keyword terms the search engines would be searching under.

Over the past few years, Google is relying less and less on Meta tags due to keyword stuffing, but it still should be in place for each page. Many times I find this basic meta missing for websites, or only done for the home page. Designers can design a nice flash website, but may not understanding that Google cannot search older versions of art done in flash, if it is not Flash 4, and they also did not know enough to at least put in the basic meta tags per page.

Here is the rule of thumb as to what to do for Meta tags.:

Title tags: No more that 65 to 70 characters ( letters) Place your main keyword first.
Description tags: Up to 160 characters or 24 words max.
Key word tags: Choose your top 25 to more than 50 per page per particular page.

Remember you cannot use the same term ie photography,over and over again with a different key term, like product photography, still life photography. So you will have to get creative of how to say the same thing in different ways.

Very impressive Serach Engine Optimization stats available and we want to share them with you. If you haven’t considered Search Engine Optimization (SEO), you should start doing so.

For those of you who might not know what SEO is, lets just say that is the process by which you make your site accessible and friendly to search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, and many others.

There are many technologies and techniques to develop websites, but not all of them are search engine friendly.

As we will be showing in this series of articles, SEO is a very important process to consider when performing web development, but many programmers and developers out there don’t really have the knowledge to perform it. SEO is much more than a website “Title” and “keywords” (this is as far as 90% of web developers will go with SEO).

The consequences of not cosidering SEO are poorly developed websites that are difficult, if not impossible, to rank on search engines. This is why we will be focusing on SEO recent studies statistics, so that you can get a grasp on the importance of this issue when developing or auditing your website.

Who searches and what do they search for?

Well, according to ComScore (a top web metrics leading company), the number of search queries performed on the Web was approximately 12.6 billion across all search engines en December 2008. This is a global stat.

ComScore data shows that just under 79 million people in the United Sates were using a search engine on a given day in January 2009. So, where can you find 79 million users on any given day?

The New York Times printed edition has a circulation of around 1,000,000 copies. So as you can see, search engines really enable you to target the mass, even better than with the leading national newspapers. And also for just a fraction of the cost.

Now, getting to SEO, why is important to rank high on search engines? Your position in the search engine ranking pages has a huge impact on the traffic you will receive. Here is some data about that:

An April 2006 study by iProspect and Jupiter Research (http://www.iprospect.com/premiumPDFs/whitepaper_2006_SearchEngineUserBehavior.pdf) found that:

62% of search engine users click on a search result within the first page of results, and 90% within the first three pages.

41% of search engine users who continue their search when not finding what they seek report changing their search term and/or search engine if they don not find what they’re looking for on the first page of results; 88% report doing so after three pages.

35% of users agree that “seeing a company listed among the top results on a search engine makes me think that the company is a top one within its field.”

A study on data leaked from AOL’s search query logs in August 2006 (http://www.webuildpages.com/jim/click-rate-for-top10-search-results/) reveals the impact of position on the search resutls on the percentage of clicks received

The first 10 results received 89.71% of all click-through traffic; the next 10 results (normally listed on the second page of results) received 4.37%, the third page 2.42% and the fifth page 1.07%. All other pages of results received less that 1% of total search traffic clicks.

These really are impressive numbers that should have you thinking by now in working with your SEO plan.

Try it your self. Search for your type of business, or search for mechanics in your area, or for computer repair. Perform many tests and see if your website or any known business in your area is appearing on the organic search engine list (by “organic” we mean the natural list that appears when you search, not the top “sponsored links”).

This will show you a clear picture of how important is to address your site’s SEO plan, to have search engines find your website and rank it as high as possible naturally when a user queries the terms, keywords, phrases relevant to your business and website’s content.

Is important that you have your webmaster check the following elements to make sure you’re on the right track to establish or improve your website’s SEO:

1. Usability
2. Accessibility/spiderability
3. Search engine heath check
4. Keyword health checks
5. Duplicate content check
6. URL check
7. Title tag review
8. Content review
9. Meta tag review
10. Sitemaps file and robots.txt file verification
11. Redirect checks
12. Internal linking check
13. Avoidance of unnecessary subdomains
14. Geolocation
15. External linking
16. Page load time
17. Image alt tags
18. Code quality

These are the most important factors to address when working with your SEO strategy and your webmaster should know about it (we hope so).

If you are getting serious about SEO and want to optimize your site considering all these elements, you can also call us to give you a hand.

We can perform an initial audit and let you know how your website is ranking and what needs to be improved in order to achieve better results.

Let me stress that SEO is not an easy magical process. It’s a very technical and long process to implement and results, although they could show in a few weeks, normally will take a few months before any significant improvement takes place.

The Natural SEO Expert - Andrew Rayner

With all the tricks and techniques bounded about by web marketers it’s worth noting that the simplest techniques can often be the most effective when it comes to SEO. So here’s a reminder of some of the things you should always focus on when creating business web sites and pages:

Key words and phrases:Think about what people will search for

Most web sites are built with a great strategy at the outset but often the key elements can get lost in the detail. Remember to do your research to identify and include the phrases that you really want to appear for in results. Ask your family, your friends, ideally anyone who has nothing to do with your business or doesn’t know you, you could even ask your kids what you do!

Description: Tell people what you do (best)

Every web page can have a hidden ‘Description’, this is called a Meta tag and is used by the search engines to describe your page when you appear in results. Make sure it tells people really clearly what your page is all about. If you don’t know how to set up your page description, ask an SEO company to help you (like e-mphasis)

Links: Help the search engines and prospects find you

It’s easy to create links to your site and you don’t have to pay the earth! Why not set up a blog and make it interesting! Talk about what’s in the news or help people with your expertise. Don’t forget to put relevant links into the content of course.

Search Engines: Make sure that they know you are there

It’s a common misconception that you have to pay to be listed on search engines, it is an option but certainly not necessary. It’s also not true that if you advertise with them that you’ll get a better search result position. All the search engines have a facility for submitting your web site for inclusion in their index and if you want complete security you can create a sitemap that the search engines will use to trawl all of the pages you want them to (and not the ones you don’t!). This should ensure your site is found in days and not months!

So if you are new to SEO or just need to revisit the basics then hopefully this will get you started. I’ll be writing on these topics in more detail in due course so keep an eye on this blog for further advice, help and FREE resources to improve and test your SEO skills.

If you can’t wait and want some professional assistance to move your site up the search results then contact myself and the team at E-mphasis today.

Just when I thought I had my SEO efforts all under control, I come across an article this morning on ClickZ.com titled “SEO for Twitter Content” by Julie Batten. Uggghhh! Now I have to optimize my Tweets too?? But I just mastered the art of Meta tags!!

Well, even though there isn’t a ton of info available yet on this new topic, the article does highlight some useful and easy tips:

1) First, think of Twitter SEO in the same way you would as optimizing other content you are posting on the web. This means including relevant target keywords and content.

2) Be sure to optimize your Twitter profile by including search terms and phrases that your target audience is most likely to search for (and also that will be picked up by search engines).

3) Increase your number of Twitter Followers to improve the “authority” of your page

4) Keep your content (Tweets) relevant to your target audience. Remember the more valuable and unique your content is, the more likely others will retweet it.

The article includes other useful tactics for improving your overall SEO strategy, so be sure to check it out at:

Meta-Tags and Google
by Carlo DiTucci

When writing and maintaining accurate meta tags (e.g., descriptive titles and robots information), you help Google and other search engine spiders to more accurately crawl, index and return your site in search results. Meta tags provide information to all sorts of clients, such as browsers and search engines. Just keep in mind that each client will likely only interpret the meta tags that it uses, and ignore the rest (although they might be useful for other reasons).

Here’s how Google would interpret meta tags of this sample HTML page:

<!DOCTYPE …><head>

<title>Web Design by Live Net Now LLC<title>

utilized by Google, accuracy is valuable to webmasters

<meta name=”description” content=”Professional web design for small and corporate sized business.”>

utilized by Google, can be shown in our search results

<meta name=”revisit-after” content=”14 days”>

not utilized by Google or other major search engines

<META name=”verify-v1″ content=”e8JG…Nw=” />

optional, for Google webmaster tools

<meta name=”GoogleBot” content=”noOdp”>

optional

<meta …>

<meta …>

</head>

<meta name=”description” content=”A description of the page”>
This tag provides a short description of the page. In some situations this description is used as a part of the snippet shown in the search results. While the use of a description meta tag is optional and will have no effect on your rankings, a good description can result in a better snippet, which in turn can help to improve the quality and quantity of visitors from our search results.

<title>The title of the page</title>
While technically not a meta tag, this tag is often used together with the “description.” The contents of this tag are generally shown as the title in search results (and of course in the user’s browser when visiting the page or viewing bookmarks).

<meta name=”robots” content=”…, …”>
<meta name=”googlebot” content=”…, …”>
These meta tags control how search engines crawl and index the page. The “robots” meta tag specifies rules that apply to all search engines, the “googlebot” meta tag specifies rules that apply only to Google. Google understands the following values (when specifying multiple values, separate them with a comma):

noindex: prevents the page from being indexed

nofollow: don’t follow links from this page when looking for new pages to crawl

nosnippet: don’t show a snippet of this page when displaying it in the search results

noodp: don’t use text from ODP (The Open Directory Project a.k.a. dmoz.org) to generate a title or snippet for this page

noarchive: don’t display a “Cached” link for this page in the search results

unavailable_after:[date]: remove this page from the search results after the specified date and time

The default rule is “index, follow” — this is used if you omit this tag entirely or if you specify content=”all.”

<meta name=”google” content=”notranslate”>
When we recognize that the contents of a page are not in the language that the user is likely to want to read, we often provide a link in the search results to an automatic translation of your page. In general, this gives you the chance to provide your unique and compelling content to a much larger group of users. However, there may be situations where this is not desired. By using this meta tag, you can signal that you do not wish for Google to provide a link to a translation for this page. This meta tag generally does not influence the ranking of the page for any particular language.

<meta name=”verify-v1″ content=”…”>
This Google webmaster tools-specific meta tag is used on the top-level page of your site to verify ownership of a site in webmaster tools (alternatively you may upload an HTML file to do this). The content value you put into this tag is provided to you in your webmaster tools account. Please note that while the contents of this meta tag (including upper and lower case) must match exactly what is provided to you, it does not matter if you change the tag from XHTML to HTML or if the format of the tag matches the format of your page.

<meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”…; charset=…”>
This meta tag defines the content-type and character set of the page. When using this meta tag, make sure that you surround the value of the content attribute with quotes; otherwise the charset attribute may be interpreted incorrectly. If you decide to use this meta tag, it goes without saying that you should make sure that your content is actually in the specified character set.

<meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”…;url=…”>
This meta tag sends the user to a new URL after a certain amount of time, sometimes used as a simple form of redirection. This kind of redirect is not supported by all browsers and can be confusing to the user. If you need to change the URL of a page as it is shown in search engine results, we recommended that you use a server-side 301 redirect instead.

(X)HTML and Capitalization
Google can read both HTML and XHTML-style meta tags (regardless of the code used on the page). In addition, upper or lower case is generally not important in meta tags — we treat <TITLE> and <title> equally. The “verify-v1″ meta tag is an exception, it’s case-sensitive.

revisit-after Sitemap lastmod and changefreq
Occasionally webmasters needlessly include “revisit-after” to encourage a search engine’s crawl schedule, however this meta tag is largely ignored. If you want to give search engines information about changes in your pages, use and submit an XML sitemap. In this file you can specify the last-modified date and the change-frequency of the URLs on your site.

As I’m browsing around, trying to find some fresh and interesting tech blog articles or news, I decided to hit up the Google monster for the term “tech blogs”. I know, I know. The depth of my insight into search term extrapolation astonishes most people I bump into. But I just really wanted to see what Google thought was the most important tech blog.

This is where the comedy comes in – result number one (pictured above) is for Gizmodo, which makes sense. It’s a highly trafficked site with millions of backlinks, in all the right directories, providing fresh and interesting content all the time. What made me pause and chuckle was the subtext below the Gizmodo result.

“Congratulations, %youAre% a star! %userName% starred %you% %time% %youHave% lost your star. %userName% took away %your% star %time% %userName% promoted …”

I checked out their title tag to see why Google didn’t just use that as their subtitle, and quickly realized it was because the title was massively too short (see image below):

Just a reminder that if Google doesn’t like your meta title tag for some reason, you might quickly be made to look like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Even if you rank first for whatever term. Customers are becoming more selective, which means what we offer them has to be clear and exactly what they’re looking for. If it’s not, they’ll easily move on to search result number 2.

So anyways (I get so sidetracked), it was just funny to me that a company recognized as a fierce competitor in the tech info industry that posts information about the most modern gadgets, hadn’t spent any time evaluating some of their own technical details. Be good at what you’re good at. If you’re going to establish yourself as a tech resource, make sure your code is clean and that you are well optimized.

Elas devem conter:

Coloque o nome do seu negócio no título da sua página;
Faça um título com no máximo 65 caracteres e uma meta description de no máximo 250;
Não utilize palavras-chave repetidas nos seu título ou meta description;
Utilize o seu estado, cidade e/ou CEP na meta description;

“Why can’t I find what I’m looking for?!” Does this phrase sound familiar?

“Why can’t I find what I’m looking for?!”

Does this phrase sound familiar?

This brings us to the concept of organic search results for website optimization. Organic search results differ from paid search listings in that organic search listings are ranked based on the code words associated with search words typed into search engines, such as Google, rather than acting as a form of paid advertisement or guaranteed paid spot on search engine listings. The New York City Direct Marketing Association states that websites can achieve better search engine rankings by:

providing site content in plain text in order for spiders to catch key words or phrases

using titles and META tags that include key words

using ALT tags that provide descriptions or titles for web images

including alternative links to other website pages, as well as pages of the same webiste

Businesses executing an online channel can benefit from the use of organic search listings. If done effectively, this contributes to overall cost-reductions associated with maintaining a web presence. Paid search listings can be costly, depending on the search engine chosen and the desired search ranking companies wish to have.

Where are the facts?

The Northern Safety Co. reaped immediate rewards from optimizing organic search results, increasing online sales by 34% in 2004.

Organic search results. The secret to achieving website health. The cost-effective solution for growing online businesses. Required: a lot of work and creativity in “thinking like the customer” and anticipating which key words customers will type in a given search engine looking for a particular product or service the company offers.
