<title><![CDATA[Zero's "Stealthy" Ending]]></title>

I know that most everybody knows the big twist to <em>Metroid Zero.</em> But I once blurted it out on a forum a day or so before the game&#8217;s release and got penalized. Even though the box ruined the twist I was still considered to have spoiled the game. It remains a sore spot. So here is your warning. If you don&#8217;t know about the ending stop reading. You&#8217;ve got a game to play.</p>
<p><!--more-->Okay so. After defeating Mother Brain and escaping from Zebus the game does not end. Samus&#8217; ship gets shot down and her power-suit is destroyed. She must then infiltrate a Space Pirate ship armed with nothing but a stun-gun.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Set phasers for fun? Maybe not. Some people complained that a stealth section &#8220;just wasn&#8217;t Metroid&#8221; and thought that the ending was inappropriate. I don&#8217;t see how as the ending still has the defining Metroid traits (exploration and new abilities). But stealth they cried! Stealth!</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">On this playthrough I was struck by how not-stealthy this section is. Compared to other sneaking games like <em>Metal Gear</em> and <em>Splinter Cell</em> there is very little actual sneaking going on. Sure, you crawl through air-ducts and avoid electronic eyes but much more often than not there&#8217;s no way to avoid being seen by the Space Pirate guards. In fact it&#8217;s impossible to sneak by the very first S. Pirate you come across. Instead you must run and avoid perusing baddies until you can make it to a safe spot to hide.</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">
<p style="text-align:left;">It&#8217;s reminiscent of the SA-X sequences in <em>M</em><em>etroid Fusion</em>. You&#8217;re weak and underpowered. The enemies are strong and relentless. There&#8217;s no way to fight back, there&#8217;s no time to think, you&#8217;ve got to just keep moving forward and hope that you can survive. It&#8217;s thrilling. So this first half of the ending is less sneaking-mission than a series of chases and close calls. It&#8217;s less about a new type of Metroid gameplay and more a set up for the second part of the ending.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Eventually the player will reach the Chozo ruins where Samus grew up and will obtain the iconic power-suit with the big shoulder turbines. What follows next is basically a revenge scenario as the Spacers are no match for Samus&#8217; extensive firepower. And while it&#8217;s a lot of fun at first to tear through the threats that were so dangers just a little bit before this sequence lasts too long. At this point Samus is unstoppable and nothing is a threat. Ho-hum. (Though in a neat continuity nod it&#8217;s understandable why the Space Pirates call Samus The Demon in <em>Metroid Prime</em> after this massacre.)</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">This all leads up to a limp lass boss, a prototype for Mecha Ridley who is neither difficult or interesting. Then it&#8217;s another escape sequence back through the ship before Samus steals a Space Pirate fighter and escapes to the credit sequence.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">The extended ending is a good addition to the main game and is fun in its own right (though I like the first half a lot more than the second) but I didn&#8217;t enjoy it as much as I did the larva sequence. One twist I did enjoy is that it&#8217;s possible to escape the ship via a clever nod to <em>Super Metroid</em> and use the upgraded suit to explore all the areas from the main game. It&#8217;s especially neat to return to Turian to see the remains of Mother Brain&#8217;s explosion.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Zero turred out to be a better game than I remembered. I think it does a lot of unique things that help it stand out in the series (especially considering that it&#8217;s a remake). I&#8217;d like to see more like it. It tells effective mini-stories using gameplay rather than cut-scenes. Something we&#8217;d all like to see more of. I&#8217;ve got to be honest. I don&#8217;t have high expectations for <em>Other M</em>. I mean, Samus IS a girl and Team Ninja does love their breast physics so.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">But then again Nintendo isn&#8217;t above exploiting Samus themselves so who knows.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Metroid Bug Story]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p style="text-align:left;">I had a long car ride last night (had to go up to Fort Collins to get a quail) and didn&#8217;t feel like playing a slow RPG. I was in the mood for something more jumpy-shooty so I grabbed <em>Metroid Zero</em> on a whim. People like to gripe that the Metroid series has lost the natural in-game storytelling that was present in <em>Super Metroid. </em>They complain that the games have gotten too wordy, citing Adam&#8217;s chatter in <em>Metroid Fusion</em> and the constant database scanning in the <em>Prime</em> games as examples.</p>
<p>Coming back to Zero Mission I was surprised how much of the game is a reaction to the complaints made about Fusion. Fusion is notorious for its linearity (though it does open up in the second half). Zero Mission, conversely, is open to sequence breaking from the get-go. Not only are there cleverly hidden roundabouts for obvious road blocks but skillful bomb jumping and spark-shining can get you to impossible places. Just like Super Metroid! The other main reaction to Fusion is that Zero Mission is almost completely silent. Except for a couple of sentences at the beginning the game keeps its mouth shut.</p>
<p>And while the plot is simple&#8211;Samus goes to Zebes to kill Mother Brain&#8211;the game uses pantomime to tell it with sophistication. Just like the way everyone bemoans the loss of! I was particularly struck by this during a neat little sequence in the middle of the game. Spoilers of a five year old game to follow!</p>

<p>While exploring the fiery caverns of Norfair the player comes across this little tunnel.</p>

<p>The path forward is blocked by a giant alien larva. It doesn&#8217;t move or attack and beams and missiles have no effect. The player has no choice to go back. He or she moves on to explore other caverns and soon the larva is forgotten.</p>
<p>Eventually, while exploring the western side of Norfair the player acquires the wave beam upgrade. This item allows the player&#8217;s shots to pass through walls. The path from the wave beam leads eastern and soon the player is on the other side of the tunnel containing the larva.</p>

<p>Here the path is blocked by another larva. But with the wave beam the player can shoot upwards through the floor and damage the larva&#8217;s vulnerable underside. Killing this larva reveals that it was in the process of shedding its skin. When it is dead it leaves a thin membrane behind.</p>
<p>Just to the east of this room the player encounters the original larva again but now the player is approaching from the other direction. By now this larva has finished molting and will charge at the player. The player must use weapons to push the larva back (they still don&#8217;t do any damage) and then lay bombs that, when the larva charges forwards over them, explode and hurt the larva&#8217;s soft belly. Like the previous one this larva has also left behind some shedded skin. The problem with the larvae is now solved and the path is open. It&#8217;s important to note that here the game has revealed that the larva are transforming. By showing the larva&#8217;s sheddings the game has added some depth to what would otherwise be just another obstacle in the player&#8217;s progress. A lock to the wave beam key, as it were.</p>
<p>During his or her explorations the player has also come across vine-like plants that sometimes have weak enemies trapped in their tangles.</p>

<p>These plants aren&#8217;t much of a danger. They can easily be blasted through. It&#8217;s neat to see that they feast on the native creatures though. Shortly after getting through the larva&#8217;s tunnel the player comes across more of these vines. In addition to the smaller enemies caught in them there is also the corpse of a larva tangled as well. With this simple background element the nature of both the vines and the larva have become more complex. This set up pays off a screen or two later when the player comes to the game&#8217;s next mini-boss:</p>

<p>A larva corpse suspended by a knot of vines. In a battle reminiscent of the Spore Spawn from Super Metroid the corpse/vines will release small plant spores that can hurt the player. Shooting the corpse accomplishes nothing and so the player must focus his or her attacks on the vines. Destroying them all lets the corpse fall into the ground and reveals a new path forward. If the player looks carefully they&#8217;ll notice that larva isn&#8217;t dead. It&#8217;s slowly pulsating. By destroying the vines the player has revived the larva.</p>
<p>The player moves forward and comes to an elevator downwards into the deepest depths of Norfair. They can only proceed a short distance before they come to a dead-end. Here, though, is an interesting sight.</p>

<p>A larva has started building a cocoon. There&#8217;s no way to get to it though and so the player has no choice but to return to the elevator and head back to upper Norfair. Returning to the room where they fought the mini-boss they find that the larva is gone and a new path leads downwards. Following it will take them to the cocoon, which is now empty. The larva has metamorphosed.</p>
<p>Moving forward, the player starts to come across eggs. Whatever hatched is now creating more larva. The player reaches a huge mass of eggs and behind it is the newest power-up: the super missile. But there&#8217;s no way to get to it. Not that the player will have much time to experiment because the monster from the cocoon comes sweeping down.</p>

<p>The larva has grown into a giant wasp. It moves quickly and hits hard but it&#8217;s not too tough to beat. And when the player does it crashes into the nest of eggs and opens the way to the super missile and the rest of the game.</p>
<p>This whole sequence is done in-game without cut scenes or dialogue. It uses backgrounds, enemy sprites, and the player&#8217;s exploration to tell a story. Sure, it&#8217;s a short, simple story about giant alien bugs but it is a story nether the less. It has a beginning (the discovery of the larva getting past them), middle (the larva and the vines), and end (the transformation and fight with the wasp). It creates a fun and memorable set piece. Perhaps the best in the game? Certainly it rivals the extended ending sequence, which I remember as very cool. We&#8217;ll see how it compares now in Obama&#8217;s America. Maybe the ending will still stand out. Maybe not. Until then, I declare the larva sequence in Zero Mission as the best Metroid moment of the aughts.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Aiaiai, Zelda, Zelda, Zelda&#8230; bom como posso descrever o que sempre achei dessa serie? Chata&#8230; serio, não sou o maior fã de Zelda do mundo, menos ainda da Nintendo, a unica serie que gosto pra caramba é da gata da Samus: Metroid.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Mas porque pombas A Link To The Past tá nessa lista você está pensando? Bom, eu também não faço a minima ideia, nunca gostei muito da ideia da serie Zelda mas quando resolvi dar uma chance para este jogo já antigo ainda para SNES mas que é classico (por pedidos da minha prima) eu senti uma certa&#8230; magia! serio, gostei mesmo do jogo, dar espadadas em soldados, ganhar alguns poderezinhos legais, reunir a Triforce, tudo isso é muito legal nesse jogo! Lutar contra ganon e vence-lo é ainda mais gratificante; e por esta magia que o jogo me fez ele ganhou o 10º lugar em meu coração.</p>

Quando vi pela primeira vez tive a sensação: &#8220;Meu isso ai deve ser uma porcaria&#8221; nunca fiquei tão feliz por estar enganado, Guitar Hero é divertido demais, um jogo viciante, claro não é pra todo mundo mas é muito show, ficar acertando as notas cada vez mais dificeis em musicas que não saem mais da minha cabeça é a melhor coisa que tem!</p>

Gosto de terminar o modo historia na raça e printo, me glorificar no espelho por ter vencido um jogo realmente foda! Mas este Guitar Hero foi o unico jogo da minha vida em que sempre que alguem me chamar pra uma partida ou sempre ue meder na telha eu vou topar de primeira! Coisa que nunca faria com um jogo de futebol, por favor, não me chamem pra jogar fifa tá certo, eu não gosto nem de jogar de verdade quanto mais com bonequinhos quadrados.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Estava pensando em colocar o Devil may Cry aqui mas eu vi o quanto esse jogo me fez bem em joga-lo, tipo Kratos é um cara fodido da vida que matou a mulher e a filha, vendeu a alma pro Aries, virou putinha dos deuses só que tudo o que o cara quer é o perdão de Zeus; coisa que ele pode fazer derrotando o cara que tem o poder de sua alma, Aries, não percebe a linda metafora neste jogo?</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Além de ser um dos melhores jogos de pancadaria que já joguei com lutas sangrentas, e humor negro burlesco God of War mostra a vida de algumas pessoas que fazem de tudo para ter o que querem mas depois olham a cagada que fizeram ebuscam por redenção, mas sempre existe algo para impedir, uma barreira que parece intransponivel mas que sempre pode ser quebrada! Cara fui profundo nessa ein! vamos logo mudar pra 7ª ou vou começar a chorar feito um fã do NX Zero&#8230; é brincadeira viu pessoal, nada contra não!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Ao contrario de Zelda sempre fui meio fã de Megaman, o jogo é dificil,  é estrategico, o personagem é legal pra caramba, tem um carisma danado pra mim e uma historia sem sentido nenhum que ainda sim pode ser profunda e divertida; meu esse é um segundo Sonic pra mim!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">E apesar de adorar o megaman prefiro como muitos o Zero, e a melhor coisa que a Capcom fez foi criar uma serie só pra ele depois dos legais X, Megaman Zero é divertido de mais, não conta com armaduras ou poderes é só você e sua eximia habilidade de dar pulos incriveis e matar chefes impusiveis! Podia ter escolhido qualquer um dos 4 jogos da serie pra colocar aqui, porque o 3? por que é muito foda, o primeiro chefe é um robo gigantesco e coisa só vai subindo de nivel, você luta contra uma versão burlesca dele no final do jogo, depois uma versão ultimate de um robo que tem as faces de Megaman, Zero e Axl da serie Megaman X (qual é só eu percebi isso?) e no fim o unico cara que pode mesmo derrotar Zero, o verdadeiro Zero! Demais!!!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Essa serie é sensacional, realmente sem palavras, os jogos não tem muito enredo mesmo, mas o gameplay é exelente, os graficos são supimpa (mais o que é supimpa?), e é simplesmente outro jogo que me deixou hipnotizado ao começar a jogar até o fim deles que são sempre sensacionais de sua propria forma!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Poxa é Resident Evil cara! tinha que estar aqui; mas quero deixar claro de novo, essa não é uma das minhas series favoritas, sempre gostei de Resident mas passei a olha-la com outros olhos quando coloquei a 4ª edição no meu PS2, o jogo trazia toda a atmosfera de terror e suspense; o jogo dá um friozinho legal na barriga, os encapuzados falando coisas estranhas dão medo, e quem não deu um pulo quando o maluco da serra eletrica decapitou você? Esse é um jogo em 1 milhão, é muito bom, quase perfeito! E fica muito melhor quando nós zeramos ele do lado do melhor amigo como foi meu caso!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Por que não o 5 já que dá até pra jogar de 2? Porque não gostei muito dele; bom é um jogo muito bom, mas te entrega toda a historia e é muito curto; não dá mais o frio na barriga, o jogo se passa de dia na maior parte do tempo, Resident é a noite caramba! Resident Evil 4 é muito melhor mesmo que tenha graficos mais quadrados e não seja realistico; mas sempre digo e repito, é videogame, não é pra ser realistico! Vamos pro proximo!</p>

Halo 3 é um dos melhores jogos que já joguei no Xbox 360 e também está no meu coração, só não é melhor do que:</p>

Só não é meu favorito pois os proximos 2 estão no meu coração pra sempre!</p>

Primeiro que ele foi o primeiro jogo de videogame que eu joguei na vida, aprendi tudo que sei hoje tentando zerar ele e o melhor, eu zerei Streets of Rage com meu pai! Hoje em dia ele não gosta mais de jogar, mas a culpa de eu ser um viciado como eu sou agora foi dele!</p>

Sonic é minha serie favorita de jogos, adoro a velocidade, o vento nos cabelos, esse é um personagem marcante, um jogo que demorei pra terminar no meu mega drive-sega cd, joguei Sonic CD até quebrar o visor do console, Sonic 2 foi o proximo, a ultima fase era muito fodastica, não tinha moeda meu! Mas nenhum jogo ganha de Sonic 3 e Knuckles (a versão que vem com 2 jogos em um só) e sua determinação em peguar o Robotnick! Serio o Sonic não para nenhum minuto nesse jogo, sei que em todo jogo linear o heroi não para mesmo mas aqui você em cut-scenes todo o trajeto que o ouriço e seu parceiro raposa fazem por toda a ilha lutando contra Knuckles e Eggman a todo momento olha só:</p>

Esse jogo é foda demais demais! Peguar as 14 esmeraldas não é trabalho facil! mas também não é impossivel e é mais do que glorificante!</p>

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes es un juego de aventuras en primera persona desarrollado por Retro Studios y distribuido por Nintendo. Fué lanzado el 15 de Noviembre de 2004 en Estados Unidos, el 16 de Mayo de 2005 en Japón y el 26 de Noviembre de 2005 en Europa para la consola Nintendo Game Cube, y recientemente una versión para Wii. Es el segundo juego de la trilogía Prime de la saga Metroid.</p>
<p><strong>Argumento</strong></p>
<p>El juego transcurre seis meses después de los acontecimientos ocurridos en Metroid Prime. La cazarrecompensas Samus Aran ha sido contratada por la Federación Galáctica para investigar la desaparición de una nave tripulada  de la federación  en el planeta Éter y prestarles ayuda si es necesario. En Éter se encontrará desde sus enemigos naturales, los Piratas Espaciales, una raza alienígena: los Luminarios, que le piden ayuda para derrotar a sus antagonistas, los Oscuros (provenientes de la versión oscura de Éter: Éter Oscuro, nacido de una colisión de un meteorito de Phazon contra Éter), y también se encontrará con su versión oscura: Samus Oscura que es como Samus pero con mejores armas que la original.</p>
<p><strong>Jugabilidad</strong></p>
<p>La jugabilidad es la misma que la del primer Metroid Prime, Echoes es un juego de aventuras, exploración y plataformas en primera persona dejando en un segundo plano los combates. La cámara de situa dentro del casco de Samus donde se visualizan el radar, un mapa tridimensional de la zona, un medidor de peligro, los visores, misiles y munición de rayo disponibles. Se progresa en el juego cuando consigues nuevas armas y habilidades recorriendo el planeta y derrotando a los jefes que aguarden algunas de ellas.<br />
<strong><br />
Regiones</strong></p>
<p>La historia del juego transcurre en Éter, del que existe su versión oscura, por lo tanto todas las regiones de Éter tienen su versión oscura. Las regiones que se visitan son:</p>
<p>Tierras del Templo: Es la región en la que comienzas al principio del juego. Esta región es la que se comunica con todas las demás. Su parte oscura es Tierras del Templo Oscuro.</p>
<p>Yermos de Agón: Es una zona desértica y es la base de operaciones de los Piratas Espaciales. Su parte oscura es Yermos de Agón Oscuro.</p>
<p>Ciénagas de Torvus: Es una zona de habitat acuático donde la mitad del templo está inundado. Su parte oscura es Ciénagas de Torvus Oscuro.</p>
<p>Fortaleza del Santuario: Es una zona de gran tecnología creada por los luminarios para defenderse de los oscuros. Su parte oscura es La Colmena.</p>
<p>Gran Templo: Es donde se encuentra el líder de los luminarios y donde hibernan el resto hasta que desaparezca Éter Oscuro. Su parte oscura es el Templo del Cielo donde se encuentra el líder de los Oscuros (no llega a ser una región).</p>
<p><strong>Inventario</strong></p>
<p>Samus tiene un amplio repertorio de armas y habilidades para progresar en la aventura. Echoes tienes más armas y habilidades que Prime:</p>
<p>Cañon: este puede usar rayos y misiles:</p>
<p>Rayos: está el Rayo Estándar con su combo de recarga al igual que los anteriores juegos de Metroid pero es el único que se repite hay tres rayos nuevos con sus respectivos combos de recarga: Rayo Oscuro, Rayo de Luz y Rayo Aniquilador estos rayos tienen munición limitada la barra de munición de luz, la barra de munición de oscuridad, el Rayo Aniquilador utiliza las dos barras de munición.</p>
<p>Misiles: son los mismos que en Metroid Prime y añaden una nueva habilidad el Localizador capaz de lanzar cinco misiles a la vez.</p>
<p>Morfosfera: las habilidades son las mismas que en Metroid Prime: Bombas, Bombas de Energía, Aracnosfera y Turbosfera.</p>
<p>Trajes: los trajes de Echoes son menos que en Prime: empieza con el Traje Climático, el siguiente es el Traje Oscuro que resiste más a la atmósfera de Éter Oscuro, el siguiente es el Traje de Luz que resiste totalmente la atmósfera de Éter Oscuro.</p>
<p>Visores: Visor de Combate, Visor de Escaneo,Visor Oscuro donde ves cosas ocultas en Éter Oscuro y el Ecovisor.</p>
<p>Dispositivos de movimiento: Botas de Salto Espacial, Módulo Acuático y Salto en Barrena.</p>
<p><strong>Modo Multijugador</strong></p>
<p>Hay dos modos de juego Venganza y Codicia:</p>
<p>En el Modo Venganza simplemente tienes que derrotar al resto de jugadores sin importar las armas que utilices, aunque tambien puedes almacenar armas para luego enfrentarte al otro jugador. Gana el que más veces mate al resto de jugadores.</p>
<p>En el Modo Codicia simplemente tientes que coger más monedas que los demás  jugadores para ganar. Puedes vencer a los otros jugadores para quitarles sus monedas o buscar el cofre que se esconde en el escenario.</p>
<p>En este modo pueden jugar hasta cuatro jugadores, hay hasta 6 escenarios distintos (algunos los tienes que desbloquear en el modo historia).</p>
<p><strong>Opinión personal</strong></p>
<p>Es el mejor juego de Nintendo Game Cube, gráficamente inmejorable, escenarios que muestran un mundo en declive pero a la vez maravilloso, cambios drásticos de escenarios; estás en un templo desértico, te vas a otro templo y éste resulta estar lleno de tecnología alienígena. Trae armas totalmente nuevas que tienen que ver con la trama y jefes totalmente nuevos nunca vistos en anteriores entregas de la saga Metroid, y una historia entre dos mundos, dos razas: luz y oscuridad, o sea, Samus y Samus Oscura. Otra obra maestra de Retro Studios. Pero esto no es todo, si no lo has jugado todavía tienes la oportunidad de hacerlo con Metroid Prime Trilogy para Wii. No te arrepentirás.</p>
<p><strong>Lo Mejor</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Vídeos espectaculares hechos con el motor del juego</li>
<li>Luchas contra los jefes, sobre todo los jefes de templo y Samus Oscura.</li>
<li>Multijugador, puedes jugar con tus amigos como si todos fuerais Samus.</li>
<li>Escenarios muy variados, tienes la oportunidad de ver la versión de cada escenario de Éter.</li>
<li>Historia totalmente nueva, nunca vista en la saga Metroid.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Lo peor</strong></p>

<li>Se repiten algunas cosas de la versión anterior.</li>
</ul>

<p>Siguiendo con la temática de mi entrada anterior, hoy voy a escribiros resumidamente la historia de Metroid, una de las mejores series de videojuegos de Nintendo. Espero que os</p>
<p>guste y que comenteis si habeis jugado a algún juego de la serie, o si los conocías anteriormente.</p>
<p>Samus Aran, es una cazarrecompensas a la cual la Federación Galáctica (FG) le encomienda diversas misiones. Los principales enemigos de Samus, son los Metroids y los Piratas espaciales que tratan de aprovecharse del poder de los Metroids. El juego combina las plataformas y el shooter. Los primeros juegos de la serie eran en 2D con un desplazamiento en scroll clásico de  toda la vida. En 2002 con la subserie prime se introdujo el 3D y el juego paso a ser en primera persona. El juego se caracteriza por ser no-lineal (hay veces que te puedes estar mucho tiempo explorando diversos caminos).</p>
<p>El primer juego de Metroid se creó en 1986 (no salió hasta 1988 en Europa) y Samus Aran ha estado en consolas como: NES, Game Boy, Super Nintendo, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Nintendo DS y Wii. Todos los juegos están ambientados en el mismo universo (a veces incluso se comparan los escenarios con los de la peli Alien) y siguen una historia coherente entre ellos.</p>
<h2><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Juegos</span></h2>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong> Kensuke Tanabe</strong>, que es una parte importante del proyecto, menciono en la revista Oficial de Nintendo de Reino Unido algunos planes futuros para la saga.</p>
<p>&#8220;Siempre tenemos en mente continuar con la saga Prime, y ya que Metroid: Other M ya está siendo diseñado para Wii, los próximos spin-off de la saga podrían volver a <strong>Nintendo DS</strong>. No podemos negar la posibilidad de hacerlo para DS o DSi.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">En entrevistas anteriores menciono que se podría dejar el modo de juego online con el que cuenta el Metroid Prime Hunters, esperemos que si sea así ya que muchos imaginábamos que el Metroid Prime 3 Corruption traería esa opción.</p>

<p>A informação veio por meio de uma entrevista entre Kensuke Tanabe (supervisor sa série Metroid Prime) e a Official Nintendo Magazine, onde ele confirmou o interesse em continuar a saga:</p>
<p>&#8220;Sempre planejamos fazer novos jogos para a série Metroid Prime. Dependendo da época ou da situação, não podemos negar a possibilidade em lançar para o DS ou o DSi&#8221;, disse.</p>

<p>O mais novo capitulo da elogiada serie (acredite se quiser uma das unicas series da Nintendo que eu gosto mesmo), é Metroid Other M, seus eventos se passam entre Super Metroid e Metroid Fusion logo tem mais enfoque na história pessoal da caçadora de recompensas. Esse game será no estilo de Sonic Unleashed, com graficos muito bonitos e jogabilidade se modificando entre 2D e 3D, mas claro, sem as burradas da Sega.</p>

<p>Bom me empolguei vou falar mais um pouco do Other M; na historia teremos o personagem Adam, supervisor de Samus que costuma chamá-la pelo apelido de Dama. A aventura promete ser linear, mas fatores como upgrade da armadura deverão acrescentar elementos de exploração classicos da serie. Cada área apresenta uma gama de criaturas indesejadas.</p>
<p>O título &#8220;Other M&#8221; se refere a muitas coisas, surpresas que estão reservadas para quem for se aventurar no game. A produtora garante que a dificuldade não será das maiores,  o jogo será aberto a iniciantes também mas agradará a todos. Por fim, o lançamento está previsto para 2010!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Pues como fan nintendero que soy, no me puedo perder la oportunidad de comprar este juegazo. Desde que conocí Metroid por primera vez. Me engancho visceralmente, es una de las mejores franquicias de Nintendo.</p>
<p>En este disco se recopilan las tres primeras aventuras de Samus Aran (la protagonista) en 3D. Si teneis una Wii, os recomiendo encarecidamente Metroid Prime Trilogy, que además viene en una caja de coleccionista.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">No balneário feminino dos personagens da Nintendo não existem só princesas. Samus Aran, que, afinal de contas, é uma rapariga loiraça. É a personagem principal de uma série cujo nome retrata uns bicharocos verdes com brains vermelhos e que são piores que mosquitos.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Metroid surgiu em 1986 para a velhinha NES, e espantou os fãs porque&#8230; porque&#8230; a Nintendo decidira criar um franchise em que o personagem principal era um robô amarelo e vermelho. Qual não é o espanto quando a comunidade descobre que&#8230;  não é um robô! Passados uns anos sai um segundo jogo para o Game Boy, a preto e branco.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Super Metroid marcou a era SNES, assim como a série Metroid. Era um mecanismo já usado em jogos como Contra, Metal Slug e outros do género. Mas Metroid tinha algo de especial, havia algo de diferente em andar no espaço aos pulinhos e a dar tiros.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">A aventura decorre no planeta Zebes, para o qual fugira Ridley, o líder dos Space Pirates (arr!) com uma larva Metroid roubada dos laboratórios que colaboram com Samus Aran. Pelo caminho, a Lara Croft espacial da Nintendo terá que derrotar os líderes dos Space Pirates, incluindo o famoso supramencionado Ridley; por fim, a já conhecida Mãe Cerebral será o inimigo final a abater.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Entre plataformas num planeta com todo o tipo de ambientes e com um mapa vasto, derrotando vários inimigos e andando para frente e para trás em busca do caminho certo, ou do Save Point, quando já está a ficar tarde.  Apanhando pelo caminho, ao estilo de Zelda, vários updates, desde Mísseis mais Hardcore ainda, a diferentes fatos ao poder de andar à velocidade do Sonic.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Isto tudo num ambiente divertido de jogar à noite sozinho no silêncio, acompanhado de músicas que se associam bem a este efeito e outros temas agradáveis e bons para memorizar. Por mais solitário que o planeta Zebes esteja no espaço, a ausência de luz não é problema, os cenários são bastante agradáveis e coloridos (claro, considerando que estamos num planeta longíquo, não no Mushroom Kingdom), não tornando Super Metroid numa experiência monótona, carregada e/ou enfadonha; tornando-se ocasionalmente escura quando deve ser.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Os controlos são intuitivos e em algum tempo se ganha o jeito a eles, apesar de ser mais comum usar o botão A ou B para disparar. No entanto, é de notar que há uma lista relativamente maior de controlos e combinações, sendo estes adaptados aos upgrades adquiridos ao longo da aventura, podendo, no entanto, tornar-se confuso para os mais iniciados.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">O jogo rapidamente se tornou um sucesso de vendas, assim como garantiu pontuações invejáveis no mundo da imprensa de videojogos. No entanto, a enorme crescente concorrência ofuscou um pouco a popularidade deste jogo no Japão, vendendo pouco neste mercado, o que levou a um salto de 6 anos sem outro jogo de Metroid (até Metroid Fusion, para o GBA) e fazendo com que a consola seguinte da Nintendo, a Nintendo64 não tivesse nenhum jogo protagonizado por Samus Aran.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Pessoalmente, considero um jogo interessante e divertido de jogar, assim como, caso fiquemos bloqueados ou já o tenhamos completado pela 10ª vez se torne monótono. Quem procura outro tipo de acção num jogo, tanto poderá ou não encontrá-la em Super Metroid. Nada como experimentar. Há uma diferença na jogabilidade e ambiente entre os Metroid 2D e 3D (sendo ambos positivos), mas que vale sempre a pena experimentar. Foi lançado há quase dois anos para a Virtual Console da Wii.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>So, by taking this semester off, I&#8217;ve given myself plenty of time to do things that I think would be fun to do, or that I would greatly enjoy doing. Now, of course this means I&#8217;m going overboard, but what is the fun if I don&#8217;t tackle a whole bunch of rather involved things? The biggest homemade present project this year involves the kids. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to make blankets for all three of them. Now, not just ordinary blankets, that would be too easy. *These* are video game quilts. Most folks out there do this by using small quilting squares as pixels, and this is what I was planning on doing until talking it over with my mom, who had a great suggestion. As per her suggestion, I am using larger quilt squares (10&#8243; square), and painting designs on them.</p>
<p>Remembering that these are video game theme blankets, the things I&#8217;m painting are video game things. I&#8217;m still working on narrowing down the theme for #1&#8217;s blanket. #2, however, is getting a Megaman blanket, and #3 is getting a Metroid blanket. Each blanket will have 14 painted squares in a checkerboard pattern with alternating solid color squares. It is a daunting project, but one that I am confident about, and already having fun with!</p>

<p>Stell dir vor, dein Bildschirmschoner würde sämtliche Klassiker des NES als Art Video abspielen und du könntest per Tastendruck in das Spielgeschehen einsteigen und sofort loszocken, beim Klick auf das nächste Spiel genauso schnell wechseln. Wäre das nicht geniall für den PC der Zukunft? Denkste!</p>
<p>UberNES holt dir nämlich so ein System schon jetzt auf den PC. Eigentlich muss man nur den Screensaver downloaden und dann diesen als solchen auch verwenden. 10-Minuten warten und schon geht das Retro-Gedaddel los. Ihr könnt sogar einstellen, wie viele Spiele gleichzeitig laufen sollen, wie die Auflösung des jeweiligen Spiels ist und und und&#8230;</p>

<p>Die SNES Ära war meine Zeit, ich war noch viel zu jung, Lesen konnte ich noch nicht, aber spielen, das war ohne Weiteres möglich. Was hat ein Kind ohne Lesekenntnisse dann wohl zum Spielen bewegt? Zum einen muss ich sagen, dass damals die (guten) Spiele nahezu perfekt designte 2D-Spiele waren. Zum Anderen hat hier die Musik sehr unterstützende Arbeit geleistet. Man könnte fast sagen, die Themes, die damals begeistert haben, wären heute im orchestralen Format bei weitem nicht so gut.</p>
<p>Weil meine Äuphorie zu 16-Bit Musik der SNES Ära so groß ist und ich bei jedem Theme das ich höre, Gänsehaut bekommen, liste ich einfach mal ein paar Songs mit den zugehörigen Spielen auf. Vielelicht wird der ein oder andere ja auch Erinnerungen an seine ersten Spieleerfahrungen bekommen.</p>

<p>Terranigma ist merkwürdigerweise nach wie vor mein Lieblingsspiel aller Zeiten. Obwohl die Spielmechanik mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz zeitgerecht ist, will ich den Titel nicht von Platz 1 stoßen. Auch musikalisch hat Terranigma vor allem für die GBA Generation vorgelegt. Die wunderschönen Midimelodien sind nach wie vor unabdingbar und geben dem nahezu perfekten Rollenspiel Action/Adventure noch den letzten Kick. Schon wenn der Titelbildschirm erscheint und das Main Theme startet sitz ich erst einmal etwas vor dem Bildschirm und höre zu. Das ist heute nicht anders wie damals.</p>
<p>Als Theme herausgesucht hab ich allerdings das Theme of Zue, dass nach dem gleichnamigen Dschungellevel benannt wurde. Der Magic Moment in diesem Level, man veränderte interaktiv die Vegitation und konnte so auch einzelne Wege frei werden lassen, alles in Form eines gigantischen Levels. Ohne das Theme wäre der Level nur halb so gut, deswegen hier für euch, das Theme of Zue:</p>

<p><strong> </strong>Wer das perfekte Jump and Run sucht, der sollte sich einmal Super Mario World anschauen. Damals war vor allem das originelle Leveldesign ein gigantischer Pluspunkt. Man konnte von einem Level durch geheime Ausgänge teilweise neue Level und damit andere Wege freischalten. Auch dieser Titel macht nur so viel Spaß, weil ein perfekter Soundtrack ihn unterbindet. Hier einmal ein paar Themes von Super Mario World:</p>

<p><strong> </strong>Schon der erste und zweite Teil des Sci-Fi Action Adventures Metroid sorgten durch die unheimlich gruselige Musik für eine authentische und gruselige Stimmung. Teilweise hat man durch die Musik auch Angst vor einzelnen Passagen bekommen. Doch Super Metroid setzt dem Ganzen noch eins drauf und schafft das perfekte Adventure Spielerlebnis. Noch heute träume ich davon, dass irgendwann ein Metroid mit so genialer Musik, so tollem, schlüssigen Leveldesign und einer so perfekten Spielmechanik daherkommt, wie Super Metroid es hatte. Zwar kommen die 3D Teile bis jetzt nahe an das heran, aber übertrumpft wurde dieser Titel noch in keinem Punkt. Hoffnung liegt aber in dem möglicherweise erscheinden Metroid Dread. Deswegen für euch eines der atmosphärischsten Themes: Ambient Silence</p>

</strong>Ursprünglich für den CD Aufsatz des Super Nintendo&#8217;s gedacht, war Secret of Mana eines der größten und auch besten</p>

<p>Spiele auf dem SNES. Die gigantisch-große Spielwelt, die wunderschöne Grafik, die mit Liebe zu Detail kreiert wurde, der sagenhafte Soundtrack. Auch Multiplayertechnisch ein Titel, der gezeigt hat, wie ein Koop Modus aussehen muss. Man konnte nämlich zu dritt spielen.</p>
<p>Als Theme habe ich mir hier Did you See the Ocean ausgesucht, weil hier am besten zum Ausdruck kommt, was der damalige Entwickler Square sich bei diesem Spiel tolles ausgedacht hatte. Kleiner Anhang zuvor: Alle Nachfolger konnten dem Erfolg und der Qualität von Secret of Mana nicht mehr trotzen.</p>

<p>Ein actiongeladenes Run and Gun, dass mit einem hohen Schwierigkeitsgrad, toller Grafik, wahnsinnig guten Explosionen und einem tollen Soundtrack sowie Koop-Modus daherkam.</p>
<p>Als Musikstück hab ich ein Theme ausgesucht, dass mir sehr gut gefällt. Die Rede ist von dem Boss Theme (Invasion):</p>

In einer entfernten Zukunft greifen Weltraumpiraten ein Forschungsraumschiff der Galaktischen Förderung an und stehlen die sogenannten Metroid-Kreaturen: gefährliche Wesen, die jedem Organismus den Lebenssaft aussaugen können. Samus Aran, eine Kopfgeldjägerin,  kann den Piraten jedoch das Handwerk legen und den Planeten, auf dem sich die Piraten verschanzen, in die Luft jagen.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Videospielekenner wissen nun natürlich sofort von welchem Spiel hier die Rede ist, außerdem versteckt sich der Name ja auch schon in meinem kurzen Einleitungstext. Die Metroid-Reihe ist eine der bekanntesten Action-Adventure-Reihen überhaupt, und eine der wichtigsten Spielereihen von Nintendo. Auf den grandiosen ersten Teil für den NES folgten viele Nachfolger, jeder dürfte die Metroid Prime-Spiele für den Gamecube bzw. die Wii kennen. Heute wollen wir uns jedoch mit Teil 2 beschäftigen, der auf dem Game Boy erschien.</p>
<p>Nachdem Samus die Piraten besiegt hatte, musste sichergestellt werden, dass keiner mehr die gefährlichen Metroid-Lebewesen zu seinen Zwecken missbrauchen kann. Deshalb fliegt man kurzerhand zu deren Heimatplaneten SR388 und löscht sie aus. Probleme sind da, um gelöst zu werden, was? Das Unterfangen gestaltet sich jedoch als äußerst schwierig, mehrere “Auslöschteams” der Galaktischen Förderung kehren nicht mehr vom Planeten zurück, weshalb die Arbeit mal wieder an euch in Form von Samus hängen bleibt. Allerhand Gefahren warten jedoch auf euch: Monster, Fallen, Abgründe, gefährliche Säuren und nicht zuletzt natürlich die Metroids. Doch wer hat schon Lust Unsummen auf Ebay auszugeben, um auf Monsterjagd zu gehen? Abhilfe schafft hier das folgende Projekt mit dem Arbeitstitel <a href="http://metroid2remake.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color:#0064ff;"><strong>Projekt AM2R</strong></span></a> von DoctorM64, Another Metroid 2 Remake, welches ich euch vorstellen möchte.</p>
<p>Wer sich nun die Trailer des Remakes oder die Techdemo ansieht, wird schnell feststellen: Die monotonen Game Boy-Grafiken wurden absolut zerschmettert. Das Spiel kann es locker mit den besten Game Boy Advance Spielen aufnehmen. Wunderschöne Hintergründe, abwechslungsreiche Areale, detaillierte Gegnersprites – hier stimmt einfach alles. Die neue Grafik verpasst dem Spiel eine völlig neue Atmosphäre. Auch die vielen kleinen Details, grell leuchtende Laserschüsse, feurige Explosionen, kleine Fetzen der Schale der Metroiden die beim Schlüpfen davonfliegen, die Liebe zum Detail stimmt hier einfach und zieht euch in die beängstigenden Tiefen des Planeten SR388.</p>
<p>Auch im Featurebereich hat sich einiges getan. Projekt AM2R ist nicht einfach nur Metroid 2 in neuem Gewand, sondern ein ganz neues, besseres Metroid 2. Zu den neuen Funktionen gehören unter anderem:</p>
<ul>
<li>Samus ist beweglicher, kann z.B. nun an kleinen Vorsprüngen hochklettern.</li>
<li>Ein komplett neuer, übersichtlicher Statusbildschirm.</li>
<li>Eine kleine Automap damit ihr wisst welche Gebiete ihr noch nicht durchsucht habt.</li>
<li>Neues Sprung-, Schuss- und Morphverhalten.</li>
<li>Neue Gebiete</li>
<li>Und vieles mehr!</li>
</ul>
<p>Soundtechnisch vergleicht man das Spiel ebenfalls am besten mit SNES- oder Game Boy Advance-Spielen. 16-Bit-Sounds mit schicker, atmosphärischer Musik. Gerade hier, bei der Musik, fällt der Unterschied zur originalen Version deutlich auf: sie ist einfach stimmiger als das piepsige Gedudel der Game Boy-Version.</p>
<p>Projekt AM2R ist ein Segen für alle Metroid-Fans. Das Remake lässt euch nicht nur nochmal in die Welt  von Metroid 2 eintauchen, sondern setzt noch eins drauf und lässt euch diese Welt völlig neu erleben. Einen Releasetermin gibt es leider noch nicht, aber dafür einige Trailer sowie eine Techdemo des Spiels, die euch einen Eindruck vom Spiel vermitteln. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>It takes a certain kind of person to take time out of their lives to dress as their favorite character.  May it be anime, manga, tv/film or gaming characters, the people who dedicate themselves to building their own representations of these characters should be commended.  They allow everyday people to be a part of their world at conventions, parties or even every day living.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.cosplay.com/" target="_blank">Cosplay</a>, costume play, is nothing new.  I have been to anime, sci fi, and comic cons, and the anticipation of this elite class is always something to look forward too.  Cosplay does not just end at the actual costume, but mannerisms, signature poses and attitude are all integrated to pull off the perfect representation.  There are often contests and games designed specifically for Cosplayers such as: Cosplay Game Shows, Trivia, Masquerades and a platform to produce and act out your own skits for fellow con-goers.</p>
<p>Even if Naruto is already somewhat played, seeing a group of kids who have banned together to create the whole cast is always great to see.  Which brings me to another point, COSPLAYERS are AWESOME people.  They are more than willing to pose for photos and have a chat, they dont show up dressed like that to hide in a corner!</p>
<p>If its your first time or the 11th time at a con, they can inspire you to dress up for the next one!  They are a creative and dedicated people and &#8220;ooh can i take a picture of you??&#8221;</p>

<p>Costuma-se realizar há coisa de três anos, anualmente, no entanto, sempre teve em principal foco os fan-games de Zelda e Metroid, graças a parcerias com as principais comunidades de fan-games das respectivas séries. No entanto, verificou-se este ano um disparo no número de entradas de fan-games de Mario, e uma queda drástica para dois fan-games de Zelda. Fiquei surpreendido com a inclusão de fan-games de Earthbound.</p>
<p>Até ao ano passado eram também joias da coroa, os fan-games de Sonic e um ou outro de Final Fantasy, o que já não acontece nesta edição.</p>
<p>Houve também alguns eventos novos, de forma a dar uma nova dimensão ao projecto, como alguns workshops sobre programação, torneios de Mario Kart Wii e Super Smash Bros. Brawl, assim como uma noite de trivia, que, sinceramente, passa-me ao lado e não faço a mínima do que se trata&#8230;</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Wie das geschulte Gamer-Auge erkennen kann, handelt es sich um eine Metroid-Fanart, rechts unten die größte Heldin der Videospielgeschichte – Samus Aran. Das Bild scheint wohl für IGN entstanden zu sein, zumindest geht das so aus dem Beschreibungstext des Künstlers Orioto bei <a href="http://orioto.deviantart.com/art/Zebes-cave-141160979" target="_blank">deviantART</a> hervor.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Die Frage ist nun: Warum blogge ich über dieses Bild? Weil ich es ganz einfach <em>atemberaubend</em> finde! Der düsteren, einsamen Atmosphäre des Spiels wird hier ein geradezu realistisches Gewand gegeben, die während des Spielens ständig spürbare Verlorenheit der Heldin in einer unwirtlichen, toten Welt perfekt eingefangen. Ich gehe sogar so weit, zu sagen, dass ich mir ein 2D-Metroid in exakt diesem Stil wünsche. Mal sehen, inwiefern <em>Metroid: Other M</em> diesen Wunsch erfüllen wird.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Da mir der Künstler über die Comments nicht antworten zu wollen scheint, ob ich die Erlaubnis dafür bekomme – ich dieses Bild aber unbedingt als Header für diesen Blog haben möchte, werde ich jetzt einfach handeln und wenigstens eine Verlinkung zu seiner dA-Seite an den Rand klatschen. Gehört sich ja irgendwie, auch wenn ich das bei meinem Lost-Banner und den vorigen auch nicht gemacht habe ^^;</p>

I furiously worked to finish the metroid gloves.  Unfortunately, it might take me a little bit before I can make new types of metroid glove styles as my husband has only stopped stretching out my pair of gloves now that I promised to make him his own pair. He loves to come up behind me while I am doing my homework and to either grab my gloves or the plushies and use them to suck out my brains. This is annoying as brains are necessary for homework doing.</p>

I played the original for the NES and my favorite enemy soon became the metroids themselves. I had to have something that made me stand out as a metroid fan. My thoughts turned to the gloves that I have been making, and soon I had many ideas for metroid-themed gloves. My first one turns one&#8217;s hand into a brain sucking organism. Here are the work in progress shots.</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">Ya que hablamos de la saga de Metroid, veamos un par de cosplays donde obviamente se nota la diferencia de ingenios . . . por una lado recordemos que Samus es mujer, asi que un hombre nada que ver, por el otro lado creo que si vas a una convención lo minimo es dar el gatazo . . . es decir, que se parezca tu disfraz. Todos a favor, nos que damos con el cosplay de la derecha.</p>
