Via the PlayStation Blog, Konami revealed more info on the Metal Gear Online Beta.

Looks like you’ll be able to create your own character that specializes in such traits as close quarters combat (CQC), heavy weapons, snipers, and more.

The beta comes with a whopping two maps, which is fine cause it’s a beta. Hell, the Battlefield: Bad Company Beta only comes with one map.

Oh, and you also have to register for a Konami ID. Just a way to unify stats and stuff like that.

But the best part is they talked a little about the game modes! There’s going to be the standard team deathmatch, but I’m sure we all expected that. Who wouldn’t? Actually, who would be stupid enough to make a multiplayer game that involved shooting without team deathmatch?

There will also be standard deathmatch, base capturing, and a capture the flag style mode. Sexy.

Oh, and context sensitive actions on certain things… like… a man-cannon! Although, that reminds me a bit of Halo… but whatever, I’ll take seeing someone launched 20 feet into the air no matter what game it’s in.
