Well, it has been a long time since I have been on WordPress. Life sometimes gets in the way. But I am back and will try to post more often.

Con Morgan Capasso che ne ha realizzato le immagini e la Pittrice Micaela Barbarossa che ha realizzato gli artwork sulle modelle Mia Rubin Mura e Sonia Marchitiello, il Calendario 2010 ”Sotto la pelle/Underskin” è un’interessante alternativa ai tradizionali sexy calendari di fine anno, con la bellezza che sposa la particolarità del body painting.

What’s with the once-a-month posting deal?!

At my old blog, Making Moves, I was so diligent.  Blogging every single night was as crucial as doing my homework and showing up for class on time.  No meal went undocumented, no story untold.  So what the hell happened?  I seemingly lost my blogging mojo, so to speak.

I chalk it up to trying to be an adult.  Truth be told, I come home from work in a catatonic-like state each night on a mission for dinner STAT.  Sometimes I go to the gym if my energy levels allow, and I confess that I spend far too much time on my couch catching up on ridiculous TV shows (hello Real Housewives!  I love you!) and other bloggers’ lives.  I’ve been going to networking events, planning happy hours with coworkers  (my two cents: always fun but potentially embarrassing; let’s just say don’t get too happy, ya know what I mean?) and enjoying the company of both new friends and old, as well as some special visitors to my humble apartment abode.

But here I am, strangely drawn back to blogging, though I am not in Manhattan at the current moment, but instead in Pennsylvania, home, where I’ll be spending the holiday living it up with friends and cherishing times with my family.   Meeting up with some fabulous bloggers for a lovely dinner at Whole Foods, naturally, (pun intended?) spurred my interest in dusting off the old blog and giving it a shot for the second time in a row.  Christmas season is upon us; the city is slowly transforming to an urban wonderland and friends are flocking in for festivities and food.  I walk by countless store windows, in awe of the creative displays, cursing myself for not having my camera handy.  I’ve been sampling some amazing cuisine on my punative budget, fondly remembering the days where I could search for the best angle and lighting to document the texture and color of the meal.  I’ve been meeting up with amazing people, both from the blog world and “real life,” and want to remember those details and precious moments in time.

So onwards and upwards, this second chance is mine for the taking; blogging is something I obviously just can’t quit (cue the “I just can’t quit you!” line from Brokeback Mountain.  True story:  I use this line in normal conversation in response to a myriad of topics), so it’s time to make it a staple in my life again.  Every day?  Don’t hold your breath.  But more than once a month, absolutely!

I have no pictures to share, and don’t know where to even begin chronicling the debauchery, intense highs, low lows, amazing moments, life lessons, and full-circle experiences that this past month alone has brought me.  I do have much to be thankful for, however, and I leave you on this Thanksgiving with a deep appreciation for my loved ones, my new city, my health, and my never-ending, somewhat fanatical passion for the blog scene. 

On that note: I’ll be back!

Mas a lista da vez é bem legal, novamente a revista britânica NME fez a votação, desta vez para escolha das 100 melhores músicas da década. Legal foi que os brasileiros do Cansei de Ser Sexy entraram na posição 91 da lista, com a música Let’s Make Love And Listen To Death From Above. Ta certo que eu gostaria que algo mais Rock ficasse em primeiro lugar, mas não da pra negar que a Beyonce tocou muito nesses últimos anos e arrebatou uma porrada de prêmios, não faz a minha cabeça, mas a mina é foda. De qualquer forma, tem MUITA coisa boa na lista, escute TODAS!

I hate fucking ABBA. Their music is really only appropriate in two places, at a wedding party and at a New Years Eve party. In other words when people are massively, massively, massively drunk. When our pub had a jukebox I had my own personal ban on ABBA. If one of their songs came on when the Jukebox was on random play I demanded it was skipped. I did let it play if someone had actually paid for it. I may be a dick but I’m not that much of a dick. Besides, those times were thankfully very few and far between.

Which surprised me to be honest because this film, this fucking film, did better at the box office in my hometown of Braintree, Essex than ‘The Dark Knight’ did. Apparently this town is filled with repressed ABBA fans, glad for a film to come out featuring their music so that they could sit there in the dark cinema where people might not recognise them. So yeah, thanks for that Braintree.

In fact a quick check of the internet reveals that Mamma Mia! Is the highest grossing film of all time in the UK. Yep, we had an empire that once spanned the globe and now we’re going mental for films based around the songs of a 70s Swedish pop group. Rule Britannia indeed.

Anyway, back to this movie. It basically tells the tale of a woman and her daughter who run a villa on an island for some reason. The daughter has met the boy of her dreams and intends to marry him. There’s one problem though. She’d really like her father to give her away at her wedding but because her mother was something of a slut in her youth, she has no idea who her father is. She finds her mother’s diary and sends invitations to three potential fathers, without telling her mother, and waits for them arrive. They do and shenanigans ensue.

Now, as I previously stated, I fucking hate ABBA but today I found out that I actually hate something more than their songs. It’s their songs sung by people who can’t sing. This was like watching a bunch of drunk people on a bad karaoke night. A really bad karaoke night. Except that I was watching it at work so I couldn’t drink. Dear God, I’ve never wanted a drink so bad in my life.

Well, I suppose that’s a little unfair. Meryl Streep ain’t bad. Not great but not bad. Still, the worst offender when it comes to aural raping is Pierce Brosnan. What the hell are you doing man? You were James Bond for fucks sake. You were the James Bond I grew up with, for better or for worse and now your singing ABBA songs whilst making a face that makes it look as if you’re trying to cough up a tortoise.

But it’s not just the singing that’s bad either! Some of the actors in this film are the worst I’ve seen outside of a B-Movie in many a year. In particular I’d like to say that the guy who plays Sophie’s fiancée Skye is a terrible actor. He was so wooden and insincere that I thought that he was being played by some kind of sarcastic puppet.

Oh, and another thing. Half the dialogue in this film seems to be delivered in some kind of strange, shrieking language that I’m fairly sure only women can understand. If you are going to do such a thing then you should probably have included subtitles for those poor bastards who got dragged along to see this by their wives and girlfriends.

Now, there were a couple of times when the film elicited a chuckle out of me. One was when a drill was used as a euphemism for a penis, telling me more than I wanted to know about exactly what childish level my sense of humour is at. The other was at the image of Pierce Brosnan dressed as a hippy. That was kinda funny. There was also one scene which I thought was kinda cool for a split second. The guests at the daughter’s hen party are looking over some kind of cliff ledge and a bunch of people are crawling up it. For one sweet second I thought it was some kind of zombie attack and I thought wow, people kept this twist quiet but alas, it was just the bachelor party on some kind of panty raid. I was sorely, sorely disappointed.

Perhaps the point where the movie really stretched the limit of believability was when all three potential fathers figured out the reason that they were invited out of the blue. They all came to the conclusion individually that they were the girls father and she wanted them to walk her down the aisle. However, they had all spent quite some time together at this point and they all knew that the other two had received equally mysterious invitations. How the fuck did they not realise that the other two were there for exactly the same reason and that Sophie hadn’t yet figured out who her actual father was? That’d be the first thing that came to my mind.

Perhaps the best thing about this movie is the fact that I watched Tremors directly before it. Man, Tremors is such an awesome film. Kevin Bacon is at his finest and you really believe that him and Fred Ward have worked together and been friends for quite some time. And who doesn’t love crazy survivalist Burt? And the Graboids still look fucking good even by today’s standards. Sure you can sometimes see the strings used to operate the tentacles in some scenes but it just adds to the charm of the movie. One thing that does confuse me though is the DVD cover. Seriously look it up now. I’ll wait.

Ok, you back? Right, what the fuck is that creature on the DVD cover with all the teeth and stuff? That looks nothing like the Graboids in the film. It just confuses me. Anyway, overall I’ll give Tremors four pints out of five.

Wait, what? Mamma Mia? Oh fine. I give Mamma Mia! one glass of white wine out of five. And you wanna know what the worst thing is? There is one ABBA song, one song that I can kind of stand. That song is Waterloo. Not sure why I don’t mind it. Maybe I’m just OK with songs based on historical events. Anyway, it’s not fucking in the film until the end credits. I kept thinking, oh just suffer through, at least Waterloo isn’t the worst thing in the world and they must have included it and then it turns out you have to watch the entire fucking film to get to it. And it takes place during this bizarre credit scene where Meryl Streep and her two friends yell at the audience asking if they want another song. Waterloo then follows filled with some of the most embarrassing dancing I’ve seen outside of a wedding reception… Which I guess is appropriate. Still, it well wasn’t worth it.

Fuck, this film has put me in a bad mood for the rest of the goddamn day. Still, if people like this kinda thing, and apparently they do, then it does give some hope for my planned film ‘Snooker Loopy’ featuring the music of Chas and Dave. Laterz.

Siyempre, medyo malaki ang lugar na iyon pero definite naman iyong pupuntahan ko kaya walang problema sa akin, dumeretso lang hanggang sa makarating sa escalator, malapit sa Jollibee.

Dumeretso ulit hanggang masilayan ang mas maraming  tao sa food court at marinig na naman ang pamilyar na tunog sa malaking pabilog na telebisyon sa gitna noon, malapit sa may fountain na hindi pinapagana. Napagtanto ko naman na siguro, pag mas maraming tao lang binubuksan ang fountain na iyon.

Dadaan sana ako sa tom’s world ng narating ko ang powerbooks at nakabili ng librong kailangang bilin pero may umagaw ng pansin ng tumingin sa paligid habang nagpatuloy ako sa paglalakad.

May dalawang taong nag-uusap. Hindi ko man alam kung sino sila, kung ano ang pinag-uusapan nila ngunit parang may iba lang sa kanilang mga tingin at hindi ko maintindihan ang mga ngiti sa kanilang mga labi.

“Aaaaaaaaah…ganoon..” nasabi ko na lang sa kanila. Hindi ko pa rin maintindihan. Ano kaya. Magulo pa din. Kahit 10 years old pa lang ako, hiniling ko kay Bro na sana maintindihan ko na iyon para alam ko na kung kailan mangyayari ang bagay na iyon sa akin.

Para kahit sa huling taon ko na mabubuhay ako, natuto na kong magmahal.

Keyshia Cole was spotted in Cleveland with her boyfriend Cleveland Cavalier Daniel “Boobie” Gibson for a charity event. She was spotted rocking a baby bump and according to sources, she was unmistakably about 7 months pregnant. Keyshia denied pregnancy rumors back in September.

Keyshia and her boyfriend were at Bethany Baptist Church to give out a bag of groceries and turkeys to those less fortunate. Keyshia has been MIA lately and now we see why.  Congrats to them, we can’t wait to see what the baby looks like.

So what do you think family?  I pray that she is!!!  I love her.

Bestimmt kennt jeder einen der Werbespots der Volksbanken-Raiffeisenbanken, in denen das wunderschöne Lied “Hungriges Herz” von Mia (hier als Cover von Scala) im Hintergrund zu hören ist.

Ich muss zugeben, vor allem deswegen, also wegen des Liedes, gefallen mir die Werbespots. Aber viel mehr noch spricht mich der Inhalt an. Das Motto “Jeder Mensch hat etwas, das ihn antreibt” kann sicherlich jeder bejahen, was immer es auch ist, was uns antreibt. Aber allein ein Ziel, auf das es sich lohnt, hinzuarbeiten, macht das Leben doch lebenswert. Wenn man weiß, warum man etwas tut, auch wenn es Zeiten gibt, in denen das Ziel unerreichbar oder sinnlos scheint.

Jetzt sollte ich mal zum Punkt kommen. Auf der Internetseite www.was-uns-antreibt.de gibt es jetzt auch einen Dokumentarfilm, in dem die Personen, die in den Videos kurz zu sehen sind, nochmal zu Wort kommen. Für mich ist das ein toller Film, den es – nebenbei gesagt – auch kostenlos zum Download gibt.

Mya finished this season of ”Dancing With The Stars” on top of leader board by scoring the most points from the judges for her final 3 dances performed for the championship round.

Mya, 800-VOTE4-11, 800-86834-11, and text 3411, finished tonight’s finale with a score of 27 out of 30, placing her two points ahead of Donny Osmond, and 11 points ahead of Kelly Osbourne,making her clearly the judges favorite for the evening.

Mya and her professional dance partner Dmitry Chaplin performed at a very high level this evening, as they have done throughout the competition. The only slight mistake that they made was in choosing a final freestyle dance from the Broadway play ”Hairspray” that apparently was a popular number for those who have seen the stage play.

I never saw that play, but I did see both versions of the movie, and their performance looked very good to me, and I was fully entertained. Apparently, the judges based their scores off of the Tony award-winning dancing that was in the Broadway play, as performed by the professional Broadway dancers.

I think that is a bit odd, to judge her performance against Broadway dancers,and not the rest of the competitors.I know she is good and all, but it looked to me like she was competing against Donny and Kelly, so that assessment was way off base, but…that is just me.

I think they were expecting something different, and forgot to judge the performance in front of them, and that is the problem with consistently being on top….people want to see you fall.

I admire Kelly and Donny,and wish them well, but it was irritating to hear Kelly complain and whine about Mya being a professional dancer, because if she was honest, she has an unfair advantage over Mya, which is that she comes with all of Ozzy Osbourne’s legion of fans, let alone her own from the ”Osbournes” MTV reality series, that was at one time the highest rated program on the cable network.

That all makes a difference because at this point in the season, it is not about dancing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, but it all comes down to a popularity contest, and Ozzy has all the popularity in the entertainment business, and Kelly rides on his coat tails.

Donny Osmond has almost 5 decades of loyal fans that far out distances the small number of R and B fans that remain loyal to Mya, because in the R and B game, the fans like to tear down the singers once the hits stop coming, and loyalty is almost nonexistence.

The freestyle dance was as awesome as the rest of her performances, and do not let any negative spin on it fool you. If it comes down to dancing skill, then Mya would win hands down,….If it only was about dancing, but it is not.

It is a popularity contest, and the popularity is not based on the dancing performances on the show.

If it is all about dancing, then vote for team Mya and Dmitry, it is what would be fair.

The deal is this,Mya, as all the performers, are not trained ballroom dancers, so she is on the same level as Tom Delay in that area, and the whining by Kelly Osbourne is unfair,fake, and borders on lying. She was obviously trying to garner some sentimental votes from her dads fans, and at the same time, slamming Mya.

In doing this injustice to Mya, Kelly reminded me of her mother Sharon Osbourne’s tacky slamming of singer Susan Boyle’s looks, when she stated that …”Susan Boyle is a lovely lady who had been hit by the ugly stick”….

Over the past two weekends I’ve been out running SPA training course’s in some horrible weather conditions for sunny Cornwall.

The rain and wind has been so bad, I’ve found myself  hiding down in the valleys waiting for the sun to come back & just when I think the sun’s on its way along comes the hail (Whats that all about I want to know).

Any how it’s still good to get out on the hill even if it’s at the bottom.

American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) has now introduced its first Boeing 757 in the colors of the Oneworld Alliance.

First off, I have to apologise for the lateness of this post. It’s been busy; with all my reading week assignments due in and laptop failures to top it off nicely. I’ve left the “big one” hanging for a week now, completely unintentionally. Hoping not to disappoint, here we go:

Homophonic: one of DCUfm’s newest shows; currently the only show on the station catering for an LGBT audience. This show is James’ brainchild and I’ll be producing it for him for the last few weeks of the semester. Our first show was 9:00 to 10:00 Monday the 16th and we’d like to think it came across well.

Not gay (but supportive)

There’s a quite an unexplainable thrill that comes from working a live studio mixing desk, having a sense of control and power over the show (when it goes right). Its similar to my first love of  editing, because while the raw content has to be good, the editing (or the mixing) has to be better. It comes down to the editor(or producer) to take the raw content and mould it into the final product.

Anyway, I got through the hour without any major malfunctions, pulling up and down the levels at the right times, me and James cueing off each other nicely. James was great too, nervous at first but expertly finding his feet as we went along; new territory for both of us and another…

Why am I always so stupid? Why must I always make myself look like a fool?

I’m getting tired. I told myself not to be a fool again but I failed. If I’m just nothing to you, may our memories be washed away.

After my examinations, I decided to go missing in action! I will go quietly, nobody will notice. No one gives a damn.

I wonder who will actually read all the entries in this blog. Now that’s interesting.

Call it a zombie lie, and Eric Cantor is its zombie liar.

Since he successfully pressured every Republican representative to vote against fixing the economy, Cantor has been claiming that the stimulus has “failed.”  Despite the long-term nature of it, and despite the obvious signs of the economy rectifying itself after nearly falling apart late last year, he and other Republicans kept crowing that they were right.

And now the New York Times has put together the definitive case that …

…with roughly a quarter of the stimulus money out the door after nine months, the accumulation of hard data and real-life experience has allowed more dispassionate analysts to reach a consensus that the stimulus package, messy as it is, is working.

It’s an impressive case, and you (and Eric Cantor) should read the whole thing.  What’s perhaps most impacting is the case made that tax cuts, which Republicans wanted the whole stimulus program to be, are far less effective than direct spending which produces more in economic activity than the real dollar costs.

Don’t hold your breath for Cantor to concede this obvious defeat.  That’s what an adult would do.  That’s what someone for whom the truth actually matters would do.

Bakit kaya sa tuwing hinahanap-hanap mo ay hindi mo makita ngunit pag hindi mo naman pinansin at pinahalagahan ay tsaka ito dumarating? Ang buhay talaga, so much for its ironies but hindi naman natin mapipigilan ang mga ganitong uncertainties.

Wala na kong tiwala sa kanya. Lagi niya lang akong pinapaasa, sinasaktan, nililito, at binubuyo na ang magiging resulta ay ako pa rin ang talo. Ni isa, walang natira sa kin. Pero, ganoon naman talaga ang takbo ng buhay ko, may darating, may mangaangkin, may makikita ngunit malabo naman ang mata ng isa. Kung kelan mayroon na, parang sumosobra ang mga dumarating. Kung kailan nag-iisa, tsaka lalong pinapadama na walang kasama.

Siguro, ako na rin ang magsasabing “ako na rin” ang problema dahil napakabata ko pa siguro sa ganitong bagay. Sa mga post kong nauna tungkol sa bagay na ito, marami na rin pala akong napagdaan ukol dito. Marami ng mga taong minalas, nasaktan at kung anu-ano pang nagawa ko na sabi nila.

Hindi lang naman ako ang may kasalanan. In such a feeling (feeling because i have not experience any relationship na matatawag na may relasyon nga) between two people, they are complement of each other. Hindi magwowork iyon kung siya lang ang nagmamahal, ikaw lang ang nagmamahal o iba ang gusto bukod sa pagmamahal.

Hindi ko naman masyadong ieelaborate ang pag-ibig na ito dahil sabi ko nga, wala na kong tiwala sa kanya.

Eh bakit ko naman sinulat pa ito, pinabasa pa sa inyo?

Hindi ko din alam, it’s just nagising na naman ang natutulog na damdamin kahit papaano. Ngunit hindi sa paraang nagmahal na ulit, siguro, pwedeng tawaging in some way pero ayoko namang isipin na ganoon.

Dahil, for most of us, (para sa mga nagtake ng upcat), sa pagpasok mo dito, you will have the burden not to be inlove again in the period of time na nandito ka sa unibersidad. Bawal pairalin ang nararamdaman dahil kaya ka nga pumasok dito ay para mag-aral.

Naririnig ko na naman ang boses ng math prof ko na nagsasabi lagi ng “mag-aral mabuti”.

Actually, maganda pa nga ang burden na ito kahit icompare mo pa sa kung anong dilemma diyan sa tabi-tabi.

Siguro, may tatanggi diyan dahil nakuha pa rin nilang magmahal. Depende naman iyon sa tao, lahat ng bagay magkakaiba sa tingin at sa standards ng bawat tao. Kaya minsan, mali tayo sa pagjudge sa mga tao kung sino ang mas magagaling na para sa tin, wala naman talagang tao na mas magaling sa kapwa niya, we are born equal ang it’s is just a matter of some factors kaya nagkakaroon ng pagiging una at magaling.

Now, back to topic.

Ang gusto ko lang naman sabihin ay masaya na ko ulit sa nararamdaman ko ngayon. Marahil, mali ito in some way because of the burden pero hindi eh. Hindi mo naman mapipigilan ang isang taong makaramdam at kahit ang mismong taong iyon, hindi niya din mapipigilan iyon. Baka sumabog ka. Pwede siguro niyang mapigilang ngunit pwede naman hindi ah? Kailangan mo lang itong kontrolin at ng sa ganoon ay ikaw ang magdominate sa iyong damdamin, hindi ikaw ang pagharian ng iyong nararamdaman.

Hindi ko na patatagalin ito at ng makapasok na ako dahil may klase ako ngayon siyempre.

Sa haba ng sinabi ko, ito lang naman ang nais kong iparating:

“masaya na akong kahit ang simple, sandaling pagramdam sa kamay niya ay maramdaman ko. Masaya na kong nakikita siyang nakangiti, na magkaibigan kaming dalwa. Lahat naman ng bagay na dumarating katulad niya ay may dahilan dahil kung wala, ano pang silbi ng bagay na iyon? Basta, ngayon, hindi muna kailangang pairalin ang nararamdaman dahil may mga pangarap pa akong gusto kong abutin at ipagamalaki sa taong kung sino man o kung siya man ang magiging kasama ko sa oras na makuha ko iyon.

Masaya na sa kaunting kwento, kaunting pag-uusap sa pagitan naming dalwa. Hindi naman siguro masamang kahit sa mga salita at kilos ay iparamdam na lamang na mahalaga ang taong iyon. Wala namang kailangang ipagtapat. Wala namang kailangang linawin sa mga oras na ito.

Masaya na akong kahit sa lahat ng nangyari sa buhay ko, napagbigyan ako, kahit sandali ng tadhana na makaramdam muli, na kahit ang tanging sigurado ko lang ay ang isang kaibigang hindi mawawalay sa kin at ang kamay na iyon, hindi ko pa din ipagpapalit sa kahit anong bagay na mas higit pang pagmamahal.

Ayoko na muna. Ayoko pa muna muli.
