Fast täglich sehen wir Schatzsucher wie diesen am Strand von Miami Beach. Die scannen den ganzen Strand nach wertvollem Metall ab.

Es muss ich wohl lohnen, da es einige davon gibt.

In der einen Hand ist der Metalldetektor, an der anderen Hand ein Stock mit einem Sieb am Ende. So brauchen sie sich nicht zu bücken. Praktisch.

What an incredible day. I woke up later than I wanted to. I set the alarm for 6:00 am but snoozed it until 7:00 am. However, I woke up and immediately threw my shoes on and ran to the beach and back. It was about a 2.5 mile run so I feel great and really proud of myself.

Let me tell you that your life starts to take shape so quickly once you start to actively mold it the way you desire. So after I took my shower and drank some protien I did 30 minutes on my new radio show while I was on the bus. Then I wrote a prayer on the Divinity Water Project Blog, and now I am writing this blog. I am still enroute to my job and it is only 9:07 am! I feel like a giant because I can still get so much accomplished today.

Wow, I look really stupid. That’s cool. I will look better in time. Step by step. It is really cold outside and I am white as a ghost. I will keep running on the beach, give my skin some color and tighten up my body and the change will show clear. I will write more later today.

In der Audi-Sleepless-Night haben wir Carla in Soni’s Sprachschule kennengelernt. Sie ist auch Brasilianerin und lebt schon mehrere Jahre in den USA. Sie macht in der Schule einen Spanisch-Kurs, da hier in Miami sehr viel Spanisch gesprochen wird.

Sie hat uns zusammen mit ihrem Wohnungs-Partner Antonio zu einem Thanksgiving Abendessen eingeladen. Wir waren sehr froh, dass wir ein traditionelles Thanksgiving Abendessen mitmachen konnten.

Antonio und Carla wohnen im 22. Stock eines 24 stöckingen Apartmenthauses. Wow, eine tolle Aussicht hat man von da oben. Wir waren überwältigt. Sie haben einen großen Balkon mit bequemen Sofas von denen man über Miami Beach schauen kann. Wirklich klasse.

Das Essen war auch spitze. Antonio ist von Beruf Koch. Es war köstlich.

Es gab ein typisches Thanksgiving Essen: Truthahn mit Beilagen nationaler Gerichte. Antonio steht vorne rechts. Hinter Antonio ist ein guter Freund von Antonio, Brian aus Colorado. Carla hat einen kleinen Chihuahua mit dem Namen Sol.

Nochmal die Aussicht. Mit einem Foto kommt die Stimmung leider nicht so richtig rüber.

Als Nachtisch gab es eine Art karamelisierten Apfelstrudel (ich kann es nicht besser beschreiben) mit Vanilleeis. Köstlich!

Happy Thanksgiving. It is 1:03pm. I am about to eat some cereal and then head down to South Beach to get some exercise. I will take pictures. This is a milestone for me because it is the first day I get to start becoming myself again. I used to work out and run at least 4 days a week and I was in awesome shape. Now I have to go through the embarrassment of having someone on the beach take a picture of me looking like this. It’s okay. In a month after working out every day my body will be back and I will have a series of pictures showing the evolution of me back to me.

Before I go I need to schedule my show and figure out how to get the code for it into this blog so you can just click on it and listen from here. I also need to submit the form to have them post automatically to Itunes. Later today I need to start networking everything so that I can start having listeners and readers. So much to do but I am really happy I will be uninterupted today to get it all done.

Well I left without scheduling my show. Oops. It’s a good thing though. It’s already 6:34 pm. I walked and ran from 71st st down to the exercize bars on 9th st. It felt soo good. Here are some pics from that part of the excursion.

Miami Beach is absolutely a beautiful place to live. I decided I am moving back to South Beach while I am working on the catamaran. I am genuinely happy right now. I put my iPhone music player to shuffle and it did me so many favors today. I was about to walk by Liz’s work because she was supposed to be there today and good old Justin Timberlake came on and saved me with Cry Me A River. It gave me the momentum and memories I needed to be strong and walk on without looking. I actually went from a walk to a run and felt strong and awesome. I basically did a P90x work out there today. Pull ups, push ups, sit ups, and repeat. I am going to do more tomorrow but I will do day 2 instead. I feel awesome. I continued all the way down the beach past first street and to the new park they finished recently. It is gorgeous. Then I went to the marina, looked at a pretty catamaran, the Fountaine Pajot 43 which is a really pretty boat. Then I walked back to Washington and then up to Lincoln Rd. So I walked or ran a total of 100 blocks give or take a block or two.

I have so much information to share right now. But I want to do an exercize with you. I am listening to Anthony Robbins and I am supposed to right down my entire wish list so here goes.

Over the next 365 days I am going to make $3 million. In the next 30 days I am going to earn $20,000. I am going to get in the best shape of my life. I want my blogs and radio show to impact the lives of millions of people. I am going to help people take action in their life and not let there circumstances dictate who they are. I am going to finish A Course in Miracles. I am going to be closer to my son. I am going to become a mentor for millions of people. I am going to contribute who I am to the world and be the absolute best that I can be. It is who I am to bring the best out in others. I am going to get my catamaran. I am going to get this blog published. I am going to learn to fly and kite surf. I am taking Logan on a big adventure and mentor him. I am going to master Alchemy.

Now while he’s talking he’s saying I have to put a time line priority on all these things. Easy, all of them this year. Is that unreasonable. Absolutely. But he is the one who said unreasonable people change the world. I am going to be unreasonable because I don’t have a nag to tell me I can’t. I can, I am, and I will.

Now he is saying to pick the top three I am going to accomplish this year. Again, I can’t do that. They are all going to happen and he wants me to write down why. Because it is time. Because I have to. Because it is who I am. I must change my life. I don’t recognize myself right now. I am Paul Kohler. I am a light to this world. I am a mystery. I am eternal and I am showing other people how to bring that same thing out of themselves. So naturally, with persistence it will happen.

It is so intersting that this work shop came on. It is on shuffle and before it came on I was thinking I need to up the anny on my goals because they are too ho hum to really do it for me. I am attracting everything into my life that I want and need. This is my moment and I want to share it with you. In order to do that you need to become absolutely dtermined that this is your moment. I will take you with me if you are ready to go there. Create a blog and I will link to yours. Leave a comment and let me know what you are willing to do or how you can contribute. This is our life. I was watching a stupid movie this morning but the guy had a very intelligent line. He said “you can loose money and make it again, you can loose a partner of spouse and find another, but once you loose time you can never get it back”. This is your life. The time is now. This is something I know but I will prove it in this life. There is more to us than what we have seen. We are greater than we could ever imagine. All we have to do is remember who we really are. It can take some time. It will definately require some effort but together we can do it. Forget if someone thinks you’re crazy if you believe this. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. I am going to do what the great ones before me have done. I am going to do it all. I am going to change the way we look at ourselves. If not me then who? I know that there is a part of you that knows you more but you just don’t know how to access it. That doesn’t mean that you can’t learn. I am here to say that it is time. It is time to answer the truth that speaks inside you. You know it. How many of you knew that you were meant for something greater than what you saw before you as your life? Did you know that you were meant for something great but just not sure what it was? That doesn’t mean that you have to be immortal or have super powers, but it also doesn’t mean that you can’t. It may just mean that you haven’t exercised that ability in your mind because you have been taught to think that is crazy or unattainable. It could also mean that be incredible may have a different meaning than the commercial idea of what that is supposed to be. But how will we ever know if we don’t attempt to explore what our real possibilities are. Why are we afraid to adventure into the unknown? Those who have gone into te abyss most often come out heros. If they don’t come back successful at least they tried. That is not failure. To stop being a number you have to step out of line, have everyone look at you and wonder what the hell you are doing. Then bust your move. Make a mistake or ten but don’t go silently into the night. In order for me to believe in me I have to believe in you because the scientific truth is we are one. So while I witness the change in myself I know I will witness change in the world. That doesn’t mean there won’t be backlash or problems that will occur. But who cares. There are problems now and I have always been told that we chose our problems and I prefer those to the ones I have now even if the new ones are worst cause at least then I will have tried. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Heute wird in den USA Thanksgiving gefeiert. Es ist das wichigste Fest für die Amerikaner im Jahr. Daher sind heute ausnahmsweise so gut wie alle Geschäfte geschlossen.

Thanksgiving wird auf die Pilger zurückgeführt, die bei ihrer Ankunft in Plymouth, Massasuchetts von den dort lebenden Indianern beim Ackerbau unterstützt wurden. Nur durch die Unterstützung der Indianer konnten die Pilger genügend Lebensmittel für den Winter ansammeln. Aus Dankbarkeit für deren Hilfe wurde daher das Thanksgiving Fest veranstaltet.

Heute ist Thanksgiving vor allem ein Tag, an dem die gesammte Familie zusammenkommt. Zum Essen gibt es dann traditionellerweise einen Truthahn. Da viele Familien in den USA verstreut leben, sind der Tag vor und der Sonntag nach Thanksgiving die Hauptreisetage in den USA. Alle Autobahnen, Züge, Flughäfen sind dann völlig überlastet. Gestern abend konnten wir z.B. 10 Flugzeuge auf einemal sehen, die sich auf dem Landeanflug auf Miami Airport befanden. Der Verkehr ist zu Weihnachten nicht so schlimm wie an Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving ist in den USA immer am vierten Donnerstag im November. In Canada ist Thanksgiving immer im Oktober.

Der morgige Freitag wird als Black Friday bezeichnet. Dann gibt es in den Shopping Malls enorme Rabatte und alle Amerikaner gehen daher am Freitag shoppen. Die Umsätze and diesem Tag sind enorm. Viele Geschäfte öffnen schon um 04.00 Uhr morgens, um dem Ansturm gerecht zu werden.

Woher der Name Black Friday kommt?

Erklärungsversuche von Wikipedia:

• Der Name kann daher rühren, dass die Menschenmassen auf den Straßen und in den shopping malls aus der Entfernung wie eine einzige schwarze Masse erscheinen. Dies könnte auch eine Anspielung auf das Chaos nach dem Börsencrash von 1929 sein, als viele Menschen noch ihre Ersparnisse in letzter Minute von den Banken zu retten versuchten und daher ebenso chaotisch und massenweise umherliefen.
• Eine weitere Theorie ist die, dass an diesem umsatzstarken Tag die Händler die Chance haben, aus dem Minus zu kommen – also statt roter Zahlen schwarze schreiben können.
• Ähnlich dazu ist die Theorie, dass die Händler an diesem Tag schwarze Hände vom Geldzählen hatten.

In der Sprachschule  von Soni (Southbeach Languages)  wurde ein Mittagessen veranstaltet. Jeder sollte etwas aus seinem Land etwas mitbringen. Es war eine tolle Idee und wir konnten vieles probieren.

Es gibt hier in Miami Beach extrem viele Bodybuilder. – Es gibt aber auch sehr viele Models. Die sieht man allerdings auch nicht allzu oft.

Rentner gibt es hier relativ wenig. Denen ist es in Miami Beach sicher zu laut und stresig.

…oder doch nicht?

Downtown Miami, der Hochhaus Jungle der amerikanischen Riviera, malerische Skyline und Betonwüste zugleich, durch Biscayne Bay von South Beach getrennt, durch zahlreiche Causeways eng verbunden. Eigentlich so nah, für mich jedoch nahezu unerreichbar fern. Aber da ich mich in letzter Zeit schon ausreichend ausführlich über die hiesigen Unzulänglichkeiten des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs und meine geringe Mobilität beschwert habe, konzentriere ich mich jetzt auf die schönen anderen Dinge.

Samstag bot sich dennoch die Gelegenheit, auf eine Party im entlegenen Business District Miamis zu gehen, zum 97th Anniversary Bash in der Tobacco Road. Uns wurde dieses Viertel immer als nette Flaniermeile beschrieben, im Zentrum eine einspurige Strasse, gesaeumt von zahlreichen Bars, Restaurants, Lounges und Clubs. Dementsprechend erwartungsvoll begingen wir also unsere große Reise über den für uns so unbezwingbaren McArthur Causeway.

Angekommen mussten wir leider sogleich 10$ pauschale Parkgebühr blechen, was zunächst der guten Stimmung nichts anhaben konnte. Als jedoch zusätzliche 10$ pro Person für den Eintritt in die Tobacco Road, welche in Wirklichkeit ein etwas heruntergekommener Schuppen umrahmt von sonnenverbrannter Wiese war, konnte man von unseren Gesichtern die Enttäuschung ablesen.

Nicht nur, dass ein Schlückchen Wein aus einem Plastikbecher mehr kostete als im Supermarkt eine ganze Flasche aus dem Mittelpreissegment, nein, auch die auftretende Band war so schlecht, dass ich mich, Dieter Bohlen nachahmend, fürchterlich fremdschämte. Auch ein Location Wechsel zur nahegelegenen Transit Lounge brachte nicht den erwünschten Effekt, sodass wir nach kurzer Zeit Downtown wieder verliessen, um unsere Heimat South Beach unsicher zu machen. Leider auch wenig erfolgreich.

Nunja, so waren wir wenigstens zeitig im Bett und konnten den Sonntag in vollen Zügen geniessen. Wie sowas in den USA aussieht? Strand, einen Big Mac in der einen, den Ipod in der anderen Hand, 30 Grad, ein leichtes Windchen, die Liegen direkt an der Waterkant, die Füße im kühlen Nass. Es könnte schlimmer sein wie ich finde.

Das nächste Video zeigt den Ocean Drive. Der Ocean Drive ist die zentrale Straße, direkt am Strand von Miami South Beach. Das stimmt schon eher mit unserem Bild von Miami Beach überein. Wir wohnen nur einen Block entfernt vom Ocean Drive und gehen diese Straße täglich entlang. Wer Lust hat kann beim Zuhören sein English auffrischen.
