A poche ore dalla pubblicazione precedente, in cui veniva notificato per la presenza di una tanto attesa versione Premier di Quickoffice, tutta dedicata alla possibilità di visualizzare ed editare documenti Office sui dispositivi S60 5th edition e nello specifico la 6.2, raggiungibile tramite il Quickmanager della precedente versione Quickoffice installata, si aggiorna anche il sito ufficiale con le gradite novità:

Quickoffice 6.2, l’ultima release, aggiunge molte caratteristiche rispetto alla vecchia versione (4.02, 4.1 o 3.8). Queste caratteristiche includono più avanzate modalità di visualizzazione documenti, il supporto dei file ZIP e protetti da password, la visualizzazione di grafici Excel 2007, più di usabilità e accessori e molto altro ancora. La caratteristica principale è comunque il supporto per Microsoft Word, Excel e PowerPoint dai formati files 97 ai 2007.

Quickoffice Premier:

Pacchetto completo della Suite, che permette non solo di visualizzare, ma anche editare documenti Office. Anche questa si aggirona alla versione 6.2 per la piattaforma S60 3rd e 5th edition. Raggiungibile come sopra, tramite quickmanager delle precedenti versioni installate e via sito ufficiale. Il prezzo per la licenza completa è di 27,72 euro, scontato in virtù di offerta lancio a 10,66 euro per le prossime 17 Ore, e comunque disponibile anche in versione trial.

Quickoffice, senza fare grandi annunci, rilascia la versione di Quickoffice Premier aggiornato alla versione 6.2. Questa è per il momento una versione esclusivamente dedicata ai dispositivi touch screen, data la grande richiesta. A presto le caratteristiche dettagliate ed il supporto per ulteriori dispositivi.

I possessori di N97 o 5800 XM, possono raggiungere la versione Premier 6.2 attraverso il QuickManager, ovvero:

Installare o avere installato Quickoffice 4.2, una versione gratuita che solamente abilita per la visualizzazione dei documenti e raggiungibile attraverso applicazione “download” del dispositivo.

Dunque fare su aggiornamenti

opzioni> oggiorna catalogo, portarsi quindi nella schermata “Aggiornamenti (Nuove versioni e funzioni)”

Il prezzo per l’acquisto della licenza completa è di 27,47 euro.

Microsoft is back at it again to try to make it back to the top. Their new search engine, Bing.com is supposedly a lot easier and faster than the top search engine, Google. Hmmmm. I guess only time will tell if this will be a good or bad thing for them. I tried it out and it is alright. I like how the front page is interactive and that when u search for videos it actually previews the video when you roll over it. Some people are actually giving it a shot as I have seen traffic from them through them.

I am sure all of you have heard by now about Windows 7, Microsoft’s seventh edition of the Windows operating system. They recently released the Release Candidate of the OS, and I am quite impressed. I have briefly used a vista, and have read a lot about it, and am not impressed. Does it deserve all the criticism it has received? I think not. Some of the biggest complaints it has received were from people that don’t understand computers, or were too lazy to do some of their own research.

Windows 7 is a great OS. It’s simple, it’s clean, and it has some of the best features Vista has, and takes out the unnecessary ones.

Libraries: This is an interesting folder option incorporated into the left side pane of the windows explorer. They are similar to my documents, but you can get direct shortcuts to them via the pane. Considering I am an organization freak, I love this feature. It’s like having an infinite number of My Documents folders!

Desktop Gadgets: Unlike Vista, Windows 7 doesn’t have a side bar – instead you can place the gadgets any where on the desktop! The Sticky Notes gadget has also been turned into it’s own application. This may seem like a pointless change, but I really like it.

Aero Snap: With this feature, you can drag windows to the left or right side of the screen, and they automatically resize to fit that half of the screen. To take it back to the normal size, you just drag it away from the side of the screen. If you drag a window to the top of the screen, it automatically takes it to full screen. A seemingly useless feature to some people, but to others who do a lot of multitasking, this is one the greatest features ever.

Aero Shake: Another seemingly useless feature. You simply grab a window’s title bar, and shake the window left and right, or up and down, and all windows except for the one you shook, is minimized. Shake again to restore the windows.

Aero Peek: This replaces the show desktop button, and works in conjunction with the SuperBar, which I will discuss next. By putting your mouse on the left side of the SuperBar, all the windows become transparent, except for their outlines. To minimize all windows, you just click this button.

SuperBar: This is the greatest thing introduced in Windows 7 in my opinion. This about doubles the height of the taskbar, then instead of using a tiny icon and text for the items on the taskbar, it uses larger icons, making the SuperBar almost a fusion of the taskbar and Macintosh Dock. I have a dock emulator on my XP, and I must say, the super bar is way better than the Taskbar, or the Dock. It takes the best features of both in every way. You place icons on the SuperBar, then when you click them, it launches the program, but uses the shortcut as the icon for the program. You can also reorganize the icons at any time. Additionally, it groups every window under its respective program icon. When you hover over, or click an icon that has two or more windows open, it brings up a tiny window above the bar that gives you real time images of the windows. You then choose the one you want to view, or you can close any of the windows as if they were FireFox tabs. If you hover over one of the screenshots of the window, it uses Aero Peek to make all windows but the one you are hovering over transparent to give you a view of the window.

These features, along with many others, are why I am looking forward to the predicted Christmas season release of Windows 7.

so microsoft you time is up to impress me i have been using a computer since i was 5 so 7 years i was always finding new things out windows 98 skipped windows 2000 and me then to xp still not using vista i want a machine that works so in my mind windows 7 is just vista with a few fixes with is not worth how much money it costs and now there will be ten million different versions more than there already is and one of them can only have to programs running at once so im clint internet browser oh some one talk to to you witch souled i close im client or internet browser and the same thing will happen people will still go and buy the best one before any other version so what am i doing moving to linux no it is free and open sorce but mac come to me yes os x here i come yes something that there is only one version nice looking interface that is simple to use and i dont have to worry about viruses worms and all that and the nice looking laptops and desktops to add to that it almost never goes wrong and windows support is rubbish and i dont see how it takes a week to reply to a email mac i am coming to you i will still be using windows in a vm or vmware with is just one of a long list of apps that are so much better but i still will be using windows but not as much.

microsoft has a vision. finally. MS office labs released a new video showing how computing might look like in 5+ years. the microsoft guys had a lot of great ideas such as the key in combination with the table. or the touch-screen newspaper, reminds me of the amazon reader ‘kindle’. and last but not least the mobile phone. please get me one of those!

the best idea, from my pov, is the ‘translator wall’. standing in front of each other, not speaking the same language, but still being able to communicate and learn with each other is amazing.

the video is great because it is visionary but close to reality. the only problem is: it is focused on hardware – microsoft is strong in software. maybe the company with the fruit will realize all the great ideas…

Well I got the fist exam of the year out of the way last Monday with a solid 80% so I am now, finally, a Microsoft Certified Professional.

Looks like the next one will be less studying but more exams due to changes at the training provider I use, of which I will post more on when the situation clears up.

Durante la keynote de Steve Ballmer, se anunció que apartir del Viernes, 9 de Enero se podrá descargar de manera oficial la beta de Windows 7.

Al principio la descarga hiba a ser para los primeros 2.5 millones de usuarios en descargarla, pero despues Microsoft extendio el plazo de descarga hasta el 24 de Enero. La descarga esta disponible en inglés, alemán, japonés, árabe e hindi y en versiones de 32 y 64 bits, el tamaño de la descarga es de 2.4 GB. La descarga esta disponible para descargarse en .iso, lista para quemarla en DVD.

Si les gustaría actualizar a Windows 7 (el DVD te da la opción) necesitas tener instaldo en tu PC, Windows Vista SP1 y no es posible actualizar desde Windows XP. Esta versión beta de Windows 7 se caducará el 1 de Agosto del 2009 (claro que luego saldrán cracks xD), despues de que ese día pase, tendrás que regresar a otro sistema operativo o actualizar a alguna otra beta.

Mike Arrington has a report that a group of investors are circling Microsoft for money to take over Yahoo. Finally, someone is making a run at Yahoo. The wounded beast is begging for a takeover and what a bargain that would be. I would love to have the cash to take over Yahoo. Yahoo has amazing assets.

This is the easiest arbitrage and the best investment if the group can get the company at the right price. Also a huge win for Microsoft. I am happy to see some life in the technology financial markets. This would be a fun deal to work. Can’t wait to see the debate – obviously I have an opinion with a ‘capital O”.

A group of well known Silicon Valley executives and top investment bankers are putting together a Yahoo takeover deal that would be financed largely from debt supplied by Microsoft, we’ve learned from sources with knowledge of the proposed transaction.

Under the terms of the proposed deal, the investment group would make a takeover bid for Yahoo at a relatively low premium of around 20% to its current price of around $13 per share, valuing the company at just over $20 billion.

Simultaneous to the transaction Yahoo’s search and search marketing business would be sold to Microsoft. Following the transaction the new executive team would take over the top ranks of Yahoo. A key goal of the new team would be to attempt to attract back much of the executive talent that has fled Yahoo in the last year.

Hello to all you guys, girls and ghouls! I’m back posting again and today I gonna talk about how our current gen consoles are doing.

Nintendo Wii -

While its sales are still strong the games it produces are so disappointing. I understand Zelda TP was not as epic as it could have been but it was a launch title and was orginally a gamecube title so I can forgive that. But with games like Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii and now Animal Crossings, Im getting tired of these sequels that dont improve or evolve to being known as a great game by itself. Take for instants  Super Mario World and Mario 64. Now SMW was a great game and so was M64, but when you look at Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy it just feels like a sequel to M64. Also Nintendo should really look at creating new franchises and putting out most of there resources torwards them. In conclusion the Wii is a great system with a few sparkles of great games but its time to stop living in the past with its older franchises  and get some fresh blood developers.

360 -

Well I can say this, despite its short comings 360 is much more better system than the x-box. Its libary is much stronger, controller is well designed and is smaller console. But thats not saying much. 360 franchises are terrible, Fable is a joke, Halo is dull, and Madden is lame (thats right I diss on madden). 360 has close to nothing as far as franchises are conserned. It still has yet to find a nich in its game libary to define itself. It makes me think of it as a game parasite that tries to lach on to any title that comes close to it. Also  the RROD is still an issue, I mean its almost like Microsoft is sabatoging its systems just so they can tell everyone its pushed more units out then it ever did b4. And whats up with all these FPS and action games? Make more adventure, fantasy games plz! But to be fair at least its getting better with its japanese market and getting developers to give it some taste of Japan to gamers. Thats not saying much either.

In conclusion 360 is better than x-box in everyway except console dependablity. They need console defining games that give it an idenity much like Mario, Zelda, Metroid for Nintendo and GOW, MGS, FF for Sony. Also it need to still be much more diversive with more diffrent types of games then FPS and Action games. Sure its had RPGs and Adventure games already on the console but for every one of those theres five FPS/Action games. So the next gen console might be the gem for microsoft.

PS3

Ohhhhh god! WTF happend Sony?! You were king for two gaming generations and greed got the best of you. Its no suprise that Sony is taking the same road as Sega. Shelling out money for new technology just to show how many more polygons a character in the game has. I knew as soon as the price was announce for the system and the tech demo with no games was shown there would be rough seas for this company. Talk about a nose dive. Even the franchises that made Playstation King are heading for greener pastures. Games that were once announced as exclusives have turned heel. New franchises are few and far betwween. Current franchises are dissappointing. Its hard to point out where Sony did right with the PS3? If I was them I really have to do a U-turn and make a new strategy before its too late.

In conclusion the future of Playstation seems dark. The console is still too expencive, great games are no where to be found, old franchises are going to other systems and Sony is losing money every PS3 sale they get. If I had the choice I would re-format the PS3 making it smaller and cheaper cutting the fat of the hardware and take the extra maoney left over to invest in genre breaking games to win its audience back.

To sum all three consoles up. Nintendo needs to do some cleaning and get some fresh games out. 360 is still trying to get a foot in the door by presenting nothing but its companies name. As for Sony the King as fallen but its not to late to reclaim the thrown after some drastic changes.

Microsoft has just released a new version of the Mesh Client for PC taking Mesh to the beta stage. Personally I have been participating in the technology preview for months now and its fantastic.

Why? Participants are able to sync data over multiple machines without having to think about it – it’s all automatic! As soon as I save any data in my designated folders on my work PC, minutes later it is automatically synced across the net to my home PC – how much easier do you need things to be?

Dari top 20 produk dengan celah keamanan/bugs yang dirilis SANS.window tetap mendominasi di sector desktop dan hal ini menjadikan window sebagai target terbesar hacker dan cracker.ketika Microsoft mengklaim bahwa OS terbaru mereka, Vista , tahan dari serangan hack,banyak yang menyangsikannya, hal ini didasari Karena Vista masih di bangun dengan code legal yang sama dan di lempar ke pasaran tanpa pengujian keamanan yang mumpuni, ironisnya lagi adalah gedung putih, konggres dan departemen pertahanan amerika serikat semua berjalan dengan sistem windows, mereka saling berkirim e-mail dengan MS exchange server, sebuah produk microsoft yang dijuluki “lingkungan kaya akan kode malicious /rusak”.kasusnya disini adalah jika mendapat serangan buffer overflow attack,sebuah teknik serangan dengan mengirim paket data dalam jumlah besar sehingga server akan overload dan sampai sekarang Microsoft belum dapat cara untuk bertahan melawan serangan tersebut,sebenarnya celah buffer over flow attack adalah error program yang sederhana dan berhubungan dengan manajemen memory.
Hal yang sama juga terjadi saat merilis XP tahun 2001. katanya XP tahan dari buffer overflow attack,tapi baru 2 bulan rilis, eEye digital security menemukan celah bahwa XP bisa diserang dengan metode buffer overflow, ironisnya sampai sekarang XP diproduksi dengan celah tersebut masih didalamnya.
Masalah lain adalah Microsoft mendesain softwarenya untuk ciptakan microsot monoculture, jadi siapa bisa menyerang 1, maka kamu dapat menyerang semua yang terintregasi bersamanya.
Lalu apa yang akan kita lakukan? Jika kamu berjalan di windows atau vista di yang akan datang, gunakan email program, browser atau media player yang berbeda dan selalu update patch dan antivirus.serta tanyakan kepada Microsoft, apa yang akan mereka realisasikan utnuk mebuat software yang punya daya keamanan mumpuni agar customer tidak khawatir.

Google has been trying to evangelise the whole world into cloud computing and guess its really recorded a major success in doing it with its self-proclaimed competitors the Redmond giants also announcing its plans to release an operating system that would rely on the data in their data centers. Untill recently many of the   MS executives were swearing at cloud computing saying the desktop is and will be the future and now this bomb shell. Craig Mundie the personal computing pioneer admitted that the desktop computing is the future. With Ballmer agreeing that “Windows Cloud” the name of the cloud computing based OS from the stable of Micro soft is in line to release it has trigerred speculation that the giants project code-named Reddog is something connected to this. This though is in no way connected to the Windows 7. It has tagged its Cloud based OS as “software + Services” as opposed to the Google & Salesforce.com’s version of Cloud as SaaS. Also with Microsoft gearing up for the PDC this ‘d be official in there. The OS uses the server virtualisation software that runs software on a single physical system and can be used to transport the apps from one server to the other. Well as for now the thing is still in the garage ready for the build up. Though one thing is pretty noticeable can you hear any noise in the tech world. Ok no ones interested I guess.
