Tomorrow afternoon we’ll be boarding the California Zephyr bound for Denver, Colorado. From there, we’ll drive to Silverthorne, to spend a week on 10 acres of relative wilderness. I may even see a moose, who knows.

I’m in the midst of packing, and I’m definitely trying to travel “light”. I’m not as light a traveler as some people I know, but I would be denying my short attention span if I tried to take less. I have a pretty small messenger back that I take on travels, and this stuff is pretty much always in it:

1. Business cards. you never know who you’ll meet.

2. M-Audio Microtrack stereo audio recorder. Great for recording ambient environmental audio, remote podcasts, or music.

3. Travel Sketch Book, a custom journal from OrangeBeautiful.

4. Current Month journal from a 12-book set, which you can see more of here.

5. iPod Touch. must have music, and good quick e-mail checker.

6. Nintendo DS Lite.

7. Jam Sessions, a guitar simulator for the DS. A great way to write and record song ideas on the fly.

8. KORG DS-10 Synth for the DS. Another great music application for the DS.

9. Ultimate Ears In-Ear Headphones. I absolutely must have these on a trip. They block out all of the jerks around you on a plane (or train).

10. Nixon Dictator watch. It records tiny snippets of audio. Great for notes and quick concepts.

11. A basic felt tip pen.

12. Pilot Precise V5. My everyday pen of choice.

13. Sign Pen. A brilliant pen.

14. Sharpie Fine Point. When all else fails.

e has a similar list, which I’ll post later. One thing you may notice in this kit is that there is no cell phone. Yes, I do not carry a cell at all times when I travel. I like to be unreachable.

This will be a great trip. I have a few specific projects that I plan on working on, and the location will undoubtedly offer some unexpected inspiration.

… geht weiter.

Nachtrag: kleine Erweiterung meiner Kategorienliste
