Rockstar Games’ GTA IV will be available on Xbox Live Games On Demand service next week on October 13th.  Which will then make the entire GTA IV experience downloadable on Xbox 360.  You can get GTA IV: Lost and Damned right now on LIVE.  The Ballad of Big Gay Tony will be available on October 29th.  Both “Lost” and “Big Gay Tony” are exclusive to the Xbox 360.

Look for Midnight Club: Los Angeles on October 20th.  But that’s not all!  EA will make Army of Two available on October 20th and Dead Space available on October 27th.  But wait there’s more!  Dirt the Codemasters racer will also be released on the 27th.  And if you’re into completely crappy games you can download Sonice Unleashed!!!

Well after 3 days of play I think I can accurately give you guys and gals a decent review.

The Good

Today we are discussing Colin McRae DiRT 2. The DiRT series has brought Rally racing games a long way since the old Colin McRae Rally Racing on the Playstation X (PSX or PS1).  DiRT was an instant hit, so much so I had a hard time finding a used copy at my local GameStop, and I had three of them close by. As I have only played a demo of the first DiRT I have little to compare when it comes to DiRT 2. However compared to the current running racing games DiRT 2 wins hands down. DiRT 2 is available on every gaming platform including mobile platforms. This means everyone will get a chance to experience it for themselves. The first thing you’ll notice  when starting this game is the interactive menu. Half inside your RV and the other half outside. Next you’ll discovered the wide variety of things you can do as you go through your menu and the Dirt Tour map along with plenty of unlockable items. Once you jump into your first race you quickly learn that this is not your average racing game. It starts with the amazing surround sound quality that makes every sound of the engine, the collisions, and the dirt beneath your wheels sound as rea as it looks and feels. That brings me to the next element you’ll notice, the feel. Every car drives differently, every course feels different, and even the water puddles feel real as they can create drag on your car. Then the look, beyond beautiful. Use your In-car camera and see as mud and water realistically splatter on to your windshield and limits visibility until the windshield wipers wipe it off. The dust, the lights, the sound, and the water, all amazing and so real that you feel as if you were there. They have various liveries to customized the look of your car as well as dashboard and windshield toys and a variety of horns to use. There are many tournaments that you are automatically entered in once you complete the stipulations.

The Bad

As much as  I’d like to say this game is perfect it has it’s downsides not many though. One is the quickness of the game. I love racing games, but I by no means am an expert. In three days I have reached level 17 and have completed 2 out of 3 X-Games events. The lack of customization hurt a bit too. Customization has become a major part in auto racing games, DiRT 2 has a set of Liveries to sustain you but I want more. This is not a game for beginners. I recommend you try out Midnight Club: Los Angles or Need For Speed: Undercover first and ge used to arcade style racing. That’s all for now, see I told you not much.

Final Verdict

This is a must get for anyone who love racing games, cars, or getting dirty. This is truly how a racing game should be. Remember we still have to see what Forza 2 and Gran Turismo 5 have to offer. Can they match the amount of realistic gameplay DiRT 2 provided? We’ll see, Forza 2 is scheduled to be released this fall and, according to the GameStop website,  Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled to be released February of 2010.

To Sum it Up…

- Most realistic racing game thus far. Short but has much replay value.

-Buy, Rent, or Skip? This is a must buy for racing game and rally racing fans, otherwise I recommend you rent it.

Finalmente, o frio está chegando! Diferentemente de nosso amigo hadoukeiro Claudio Prandoni, que adora uma camiseta regata, ODEIO CALOR! Sério! Você fica suando, fica fedido, sem falar que se faz calor demais, a pressão arterial vai pro saco: ou ela sobe demais, ou despenca! Sem falar que, parece que tudo que a gente come faz mal! Terrível!

Para minha felicidade, Outono chegou! Eeeba! Não sei quanto aos outros estados, mas aqui em SP o friozinho está chegando. Maravilha. Nessa época que nossas dietas vão pro saco, comendo que nem doidos e dormindo até tarde debaixo do cobertor.

Para os gamers que estão coçando o saco com tempo livre e ficam jogando seus consoles debaixo do cobertor, está abaixo uma “listinha” de games de todos os estilos, mas longos, dando pra curtir bem mais aquele cobertorzinho e o chocolatinho do lado… mas sem melecar o controle, por favor! (agradeço a ajuda do nosso amigo irmão-perdido-tartaruga-ninja Pablo Raphael)

RPGs

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy (VI, VII, VIII, XII), Fallout 3, Disgaea, Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon.

RPGs, de praxe, são famosos por serem muito longos, com muitos desafios, enredos cativantes, e nos deixam com uma ânsia em elevar os nossos personagens que dá até medo. Ocupam muitas horas do nosso dia, e podem ser bem aproveitados debaixo do cobertor, com um salgadinho do lado, só pra mãe não reclamar que você está sem comer há quase 1 dia.

Ação

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition, GTA San Andreas, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Mirror’s Edge.

Jogos de ação geralmente são longos também, com exceção de God of War. Por que ele está na lista? Quando você detonar o primeiro, logo vai ficar doido(a) para detonar o segundo logo em seguida, e aí são muitas horas bem gastas!

Shooter/ FPS

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: Call of Duty 4, Killzone 2, Gears of War 2, Bioshock

Tiroteio pra tudo quando é lado, com um curtíssimo espaço de tempo para pensar em uma estratégia para detonar os inimigos sem tomar uma azeitona no meio da fuça e missões longas que precisam ser completas. Nem todos se enquadram nesse estilo de “enredo”, mas o mais legal é dar tiro na cambada. Woohool!

Corrida

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: Burnout Paradise, Gran Turismo 4, Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition

As corridas podem não ser muito longas mas, no caso de Gran Turismo 4, existem MUITOS carros a serem habilitados. Muitas horas e pneus gastos, com certeza! ^^ Sem falar nas várias pistas que precisamos praticar para chegar em 1º.

Survival Horror

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, Silent Hill (1, 2 e 4), Fatal Frame, Eternal Darkness, Parasite Eve, Clock Tower.

Por mais que tenha “perdido” o clima assustador dos outros Resident Evil, RE4 nos garante, sim, momentos de tensão. Ótimo pra deixar a namorada jogar e ficar toda com medo, abraçando debaixo do cobertor (só abraçando, seus pervertidos!). O mesmo para Silent Hill, Fatal Frame e Clock Tower, que nos deixam com medo em boa parte do jogo. Dead Space e Eternal Darkness são especialistas em sustos e Parasite Eve, por mais que pareça mais RPG, é um Survival Horror sim. Todos os jogos são longos.

Aventura

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metal Gear Solid(3 e 4), Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider Underworld, Super Castlevania IV.

Correr como um lobinho em Twilight Princess e depois voltar a ser Link (o que demora pacas, joguinho demorado!!), atirar em alienígenas e “em você mesma(o)” em Metroid 3, jogar poucos minutos de game e assistir mais de 30 minutos em cutscenes em MGS3 e 4, se esconder em Splinter Cell, explorar ruínas pelo mundo todo em Tomb Raider ou até o Castelo do Drácula em Super Castlevania IV… preparem a pipoquinha e o cobertorzinho.

Luta

Para jogar debaixo do cobertor: Street Fighter IV, Soul Calibur III e IV.

A vontade de conquistar todos os troféus de SF IV e de detonar a “interminável” torre em SC III e IV é ótima para quem quer ficar quentinho e dar uns sopapos em alguém ao mesmo tempo. No caso de SF IV e SC IV, o modo de batalhas online também nos favorece, e muito, e isso também se aplica aos games de Shooter.

Rockstar Games announced today that two DLC packs for Midnight Club: Los Angeles, featuring new cars and motorcycles, will be available for PSN and XBLA in mid-April.

The South Central Vehicle Pack 1 will be available for download April 16 and cost the equivalent of 240 XBLA points or $2.99 for PSN. It contains two luxury cars, the Audi S5 and the Mercedes CL 65, plus the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.

The South Central Vehicle Pack 2 (same price as Pack 1), will be available April 23, and includes the Cadillac XLR V, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, and the Aston Martin DB9–plus a “free” Ducati 1098 R motorcycle.

Each pack requires that you first download the South Central Map Extension, itself a massive extension to the game, adding four new neighborhoods to South Central LA.

The new DLC for Midnight Club: Los Angeles is out now.  I came out Thursday (March 19, 2009).  There are two parts to the DLC one free and the other pay.  The free one gives you a new part of the map to drive around.  The pay one gives you new 9 new vehicles, parts, races and missions.  Download the free map add on the other day and tried it out today (March 22, 2009).  When I first booted up the game I wasn’t to sure if the map was bigger.  So I went online to see if it worked.  I was some of the new cars and the new map.   The new map is nice looking.  Raced a few races to check it out.  I like the fact that RockStar Games gives out free DLC along the the pay.

Kid Cudi continues to be a favorite around here for me and readers alike. He made some more noise this week with this smooth record off the Midnight Club: Los Angeles videogame soundtrack. I wouldn’t measure him by this song but it’s excellent videogame music, especially for a driving game. Don’t you agree?

Aside from dropping this song, Kid Cudi spoke to MTV about the controversial, alternate version of the “Day N Nite” music video and his altercation with Phoenix police during this year’s All-Star weekend.  In my cherry popping post I discussed the prospects of success for G-Unit and specifically 40 Glocc. In that article I predicted a big year for L.A. rappers. I believe my words were”L.A. is back bitch!” In line with this thinking San Diego based Rockstar Games has just released their newest version of Midnight Club, this time in the City of Angels. With features that include a “South Central” content pack, there is little doubt that this game will entertain the crestfallen masses. As far as the game is concerned you can peep the trailer and the details (below). In what is a bit of a bonus is the tapping of Orange based rapper Kali for the feature track on the games soundtrack. Kali is a member of the Juice County All Stars, you can check their content at the bottom of the post. Kali claims to have put his “hardcore rapper” persona aside as he has expanded and developed a sound he has dubbed “tecnorap.” Nothing too complex about “techno rap”, think Alice Deejay meets The Game. A unique advantage to this type of sound is its crossover appeal with gaming and film, an appeal that Kali and the J.C.A. are going to count on as revenue tributaries are drying up. Crossover collabos between gaming and hip hop have been successful. Frankly I’m ecstatic that gaming is branching out a little, embracing the street a little more. I couldn’t deal with another EA Games soundtrack riddled with Phil da Agony. Nothing but Cali love for Kali and Rockstar. Rockstar announced today that the ‘South Central’ DLC for Midnight Club: Los Angeles will be delayed a week, and will be out on the 19th.

As we previously reported, the pack will come in two parts, a new area for the game (which will be free) and the next one will add a shed load of playable content for the game, which includes 9 new vehicles, 26 new races, 12 new battle maps, 10 new delivery missions, over 100 new red light races, new vinyl packs, new parts, new music and much more!

It will cost about 800 MP’s, or 7.99 on the Playstation Store.

Tomarrow is the big day for Midnight Club.. I myself cant wait and i would say the same for many others.. The new cars, new map and a new way to show of rides..
