CAN A PATIENT IN COMMA HEAR ?

Long ago, I read a novel about life in the Appellachian mountains in the United States.

The theme of the novel is the fate of two children, whose writer father dies in a car accident and mother becomes paralytic, unable to respond even. So from New York, the children are transplanted to the primitive life in the rugged hills, where their grandmother lives, whom the kids have never seen!

I immensely enjoyed the novel.

When the grandmother wakes up the girl (the younger one is a boy) and tells her, at five in the morning, it is time to milk the cow, the girl protests: why can’t the cow sleep for some more time?

The have a negro boy as friend and guide, who will show the way to cross the valley and reach the next mountain which, by road will take half a day to reach. The boy dies in an accident, caused by illegal blasting of a tunnel, by a company producing oil. They want to destroy the hill to get oil.

A lawyer friend of the grand mother regularly comes and reads the bible, sitting by the side of the immobile mother, without even caring whether she hears it or not.

Once the children go to the lawyer’s office in the far away town, and are surprised to see plantains, pumpkins and other vegetables in the office. THEY WERE TOLD THAT VILLAGERS GIVE IT AS THEY DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO GIVE AS FEES!

The hill contains oil. All others agreed to sell land to the oil companies, but the grandmother refuses. In the end, the court decrees against her. She breaks down in the court; but the children become millionaires!

As usual, the lawyer reads the bible and in the end he conveys the news to the immobile mother. She smiles and tries to get up, something no one could believe. I think the lawyer marries her.

Today I read in the science section of the Times Of India, that a patient supposed to be in comma for twenty three years, woke up to tell that he was fully conscious and used to hear their talk.

I was reminded of the novel!

Business Book Review - Final Post on Speedwealth

In my 11/17/09 and 11/19/09 posts, I’ve been reviewing the book by T Harv Eker called “Speedwealth, How to Make a Million in your own business in 3 Years or Less,” by reviewing two of his seven steps.

Essentially, Mr. Eker believes there are 7 steps to becoming a millionaire in your own business. The final two steps are:

Step 6: Leverage. Some key points to this strategy are:

What specific tactics and strategies can I use that will allow me to work smarter instead of harder?
How can I provide people with my value, my products or services, while I sleep?

When you can answer these questions and exectute the answer, you’ve made it!

Some common forms of leverage are:

Licensing
Add-On Repeat Sales
Partnership Marketing, or Joint Venturing

Step 7: Cashing Out. The culmination of all the steps and what ties the entire Speedwealth system together is what separates the Speedwealth entrepreneur from the average business owner – they start with the end in mind!

Mr. Eker claims if you follow the Speedwealth system to the letter, in three to five years you will have four choices:

Keep the business, continue to work “hands-on,” and make a huge INCOME.
Keep the business, cash out your time by delegating the day-to-day affairs, and make a huge PASSIVE INCOME.
Sell all or part of the business and become an INSTANT MILLIONAIRE.
Create a combination of all the above.

However, he does say that you will never make as much money running a business as you will selling a business!

Even for people like me who are part of lifetime residual income companies, more commonly known as network marketing companies, can sell their “downline” for mega-bucks, plus an on-going percentage of the purchaser’s income!

So that’s it – 7 Steps in three posts on what I consider to be a must read for every past, present and future business owner. Let me know if you’ve read the book or plan on buying it – would love your feedback.

Mission Impossible - certainly not!

If you’re looking for a ‘get rich quick’ scheme then you’re in the wrong place. If your primary mission is to become a millionaire then you may want to step back a moment.

By all means have this as a personal goal or an objective, but as a mission? This organisation has an objective to create 100 millionaires by 2012, but its mission is at a different level.

The way you set out to achieve success, and what you want to do as a result of that success are worth considering.

For example, a great way to get people on your side is to give before you receive. An approach that attracts prospects towards your offer is much more appropriate and successful these days than a pushy sales pitch.

Similarly, you’ve probably heard the saying; “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Our mission is the latter; to teach people how to market online, to start and run a business and to manage and grow their wealth. Along the way we may sell a fishing rod and net, but teaching folks how to use them is provided as part of the package.

Donate $7.5m To Wikipedia?

So if you visit Wikipedia that often, you’d probably see that it wants people donating again. And can you guess how much they want off people in the US? You guessed it! 7 million dollars! A couple of months ago, Wikipedia wanted us to donate $6m, to keep their site alive. Now it doesn’t tell. Are you really sure they need millions of dollars just to keep Wikipedia alive? Or do they just want money from people so that they can swim in a bathtub full of it?

As you can see, I have a photo of the Wikipedia logo, along with it’s slogan “The free encyclopedia.” Now define “free” since we have to donate. First of all, most of us people just go on that website to learn, research, or follow the curiousity of their heart’s content, not to pay just to view or read something simple. Second, give us a reason why do you want the money and what you’re gonna do with it, besides people and technology, such as “Who?” and “What type of technology?” You guys have no more than 35 employees running the company in the last 8 years, I don’t see why you need to much money just to continue. And third, dude, the economy is in a bad state. Try again in like… 100 years.

Ayer por la noche, después de cenar, me puse en el dvd la peli Slumdog Millionare. Ya sé que tardé bastante y que muchos de vosotros ya la visteis hace tiempo. A todos los que me la recomendasteis en su día, deciros que no os equivocasteis. (Taba, tenías razón, me iba a gustar).

Es una película tierna que choca directamente con la dura vida de sus protagonistas, que lo que pretenden es simplemente sobrevivir.

A modo de apunte, tengo que decir que la banda sonora está bastante bien

Business Book Review Continued - Speedwealth

In my Tuesday post I began reviewing the book by T Harv Eker called “Speedwealth, How to Make a Million in your own business in 3 Years or Less,” by reviewing two of his seven steps.

Essentially, Mr. Eker believes there are 7 steps to becoming a millionaire in your own business:

Step 3: Choose the Right Business at the Right Time. If you can master this step you’re 50% there. There are several different ways to do this:

Copy someone who is making a mint right now and bring it to your geographic area.
Instead of copying, affiliate with someone or something that’s already a winner.
Remarketing “under-marketed” products and services.

Step 4: Systemize. A business system is a repeatable process that produces a profit. The idea is to effectively and efficiently sell and support your product or service in larger quantities as you grow. This consists of three parts:

Marketing
Production
Administration

If you have to be physically present for your business to work, it can only grow to the extent that you can personally handle. It will bring the growth of your business to a screaching halt! See my post “Work On your Business, Not In your Business” for more on this topic.

Step 5: Duplicate. I’m very fond of this step because it is at the core of what my printable greeting cards online business, Send Out Cards, does. We make everything 100% duplicatable so that essentially anyone can have a successful business. It does not take special “sales” skills. You simply use the tools provided to you and show the service to as many people as you can. They in turn do the same thing, and so on and so on. Timing, systemization and duplication are inherent and already built into the network marketing methodolgy.

The best network marketers understand that duplication makes you rich, and they have incomes of over $1,000,000 a year!

I was introduced to the concept of “let it go” as it relates to success and money by a young entrepreuner who is a successful multimillionaire. He is half my age and yet, at such a young age he understands that wealth and success are transient. Most of us are conditioned in just the opposite way of thinking. Some of the most wealthy people in the world, are the most insecure. I believe it’s important to “go with the flow” of universal intelligence. For example, we take in a breath and inhale oxygen and then exhale CO2 which is then utilized by trees to produce more oxygen for us to take in our next breath. It’s a cyclic process of life. The more we are in harmony with this process, the easier our life is….

Speedwealth Book Review

Through my personal expressions category I will be sharing with you some of my passions. One of my biggest is reading, especially self-help books. Recently while on vacation I read a book by T Harv Eker called “Speedwealth, How to Make a Million in your own business in 3 Years or Less.”

Essentially, Mr. Eker believes there are 7 steps to becoming a millionaire in your own business. They are:

Step 1: Develop a Speedwealth Mindset. He believes getting rich is feasible, and learning how to identify change and then change quickly is a necessity to build wealth.

The reality is most of us have been through six or seven complete career or business changes in our lifetime. The average length of each being about five years. Meaning you make your money in that period or you don’t make it all.

Because success is a learnable skill, if you make a 3-5 year commitment, which may include hard work, you’re on your way. He believes those who like to create concepts, start things, grow quickly and then move on to the next project (called “sprinters”) are better positioned for increased wealth.

Step 2: Deliver Massive Value. “The Law of Income” states that you will be paid in direct proportion to the value you deliver according to the marketplace. He claims that the reason most people are broke is because they don’t deliver a lot of value in the eyes of the marketplace. You must DELIVER!

Four income factors determine how much you’ll earn:

Demand – do you have a hot product or service?
Supply – is supply of your product limited – if so, value increases.
Quality – Do it well or don’t do it at all!
Quantity – How much of your product or service can you offer (clone yourself).

If you only read Section 2 of the book, you would be leaps and bounds ahead of others as to understanding why rich people account for 10% of the population, and needy people account for the rest.

I didnt even seen it passing in my news channel, so many bankruptcy tales are going on thanks to the recession that its impossible to keep it up with all.While i was browsing the medialanscape to get my traditionnal morning news i stumbled up on an article from the NYP reporting the lost control of Marck Ecko’own brand last september of this year.

As reported the hip-hop clothing kingpin signed over a 51 percent interest in the Marc Ecko brand to Iconix, a New York company that owns a slew of fashion brands including Joe Boxer, Candie’s, Rocawear and London Fog.Ecko this year had laid off workers and auctioned off his watch trademarks and Avirex brand to raise cash in order to pay creditors.

Why is that a surprise ? Marcko made his way through fashion retailing because at the time he had a very good concept and there was an untaped market for urban clothing.Since things has evolved, he became a big spending party boy wich itself has completely thrown him out of touch with the “real urban market”.As an economist told me once the sole key to make your business profitable is control and reduce small costs like paper, power, cars, leases, pen…its theses insignificants costs once managed that make your way to fortune.Hence why Si Newhouse canceled Conde Nast’s famous Christmas lunch for the second year in a row and hired a crisis management expert to reduce drasticaly costs, read no more “Pellegrino, Orangina, Red Bull, Fidji water” for Condenast cafeteria.

Sources said Ecko is still struggling to lease out pieces of his luxurious 280,000- square-foot headquarters in Midtown, which houses everything from a recording studio to a basketball court.Basically, Marck Ekco is best single encapsulated by all the things you should avoid to do once you head a business.

“I’ve had a crazy, wild ride. I’ve done a lot of things that have been naive,” Ecko told The Post. “I’ll take my lumps for a lot of things that, in retrospect, were a little indulgent. Life happens. I don’t regret any of it.”

“I’ve lived through a leveraged position,” Ecko said. “I don’t know whether, once you grow up your business like that, you have full control anymore anyway.”Asked if they planned to keep the basketball court at their offices despite the cost cuts, Gerzberg said he was trying.”What do you care?” Ecko chimed in. “You gonna come down and shoot? The Secret Formula To Network Marketing Success

I was on one of our team calls the other day – call the Millionaire Training Circle (Ya, that’s an awesome name!) and after the call was done I really felt that I needed to share with you the secret formula.

Are you ready? Pen’s out… This formula will get you anything you want in life. It can also be a little brutal because your results according to this formula will also tell you what you were really committed too.

Okay here it is: I + M = R

I= Intent
What are you really committed to. What is your intent. If you’re intent is to become a millionaire through network marketing then NOTHING will stand in your way right? If your intent is to be a wonderful spouse, or an amazing parent, or the best auto mechanic on the planet – Intent is where it starts.

M = Mechanism
Okay, Mechanism is your chosen vehicle to get you where your going. If you’re intent on becoming a millionaire your choices are infinite. Millionaires come from every background, every race, every country… and on and on. Network Marketing is nothing more than a mechanism to help you on your journey to become a millionaire. (It also happens to be one of the least risky, most leveraged, highly proven wealth mechanisms available to you and I)

R = Results
Results are what you get after you’ve applied your real true intent to your chosen mechanism. Results are results – meaning they don’t lie. Results are often harsh but always true.

Look at your life, where you are right now, and reflect on how you got there. Example, I have people who have signed up on my team and they tell me they want to go to the top…. however, about 3 months into the game they quit? Why, because their true and real intent was not to go to the top but rather to “give it a try” to “see if it works”. It’ll never work with that intent!

I don’t care what you’re doing in life – if you’re going to get to the top of anything - especially network marketing – your commitment has to be absolute, resolute, and unbending. On Jack Canfield’s CD series “The Success Principles” I learned this mantra that I use every day, “No matter how are it gets, now matter what happens, I will succeed!”

It takes Iron will to make it to the top!

Here are my final thoughts on the secret formula to getting anything you want in life – it is all about your Intention! There are an infinite number of mechanisms to get the results you want – what it really takes to get to the top is 100% intention!

I’ve found this to be an invaluable tool to examine my life and the results that I’ve achieved so far. I hope it is a blessing to your’s as well.

I was surfing the web today on how to get a blog domain. Suddenly I crashed into a blogging website called SquareSpace. The site is pretty much new. It was created in February 2007. The site has confusing buttons and less orginized tools than WordPress. But if you want, you can import and export posts there. That’s right, you can post on SquareSpace and whatever you posted will show on that site, and also on your WordPress blog, without posting again. Or you can post on your WordPress blog, and it will automatically show on your SquareSpace blog, without reposting. It might even double the traffic you have at your blog now.

If you do any email campaigns make sure you use this tool to keep spam filtered words out of your subject line in your emails.

Some of the subject lines I have used which seem to get the best results are:
“Hello, here is the information you requested ” or
“Hi friend, is this what you were looking for?”
or you can be warm and friendly and say “This will pay for my vacation”
or “Have you ever wanted to save the world?” or” I never want to say “no” to my family…”
Something that will get their curiosity going. Of course with warm market you do not need to be that creative. You can if you want but they will open the mail just because it is you.

When you do the email message make sure your website link is a live clickable link.
If you do a lot of work related emailing make sure you go to your mail options and enter great content and website link to your signature. free marketing to anyone you email. Go to mail options and make your signature a great signature with your website, phone number in a fancy signature that will go out with every email you send. This is a great way to promote your business. Every email I send out I am passively promoting my GoGo20 business.

Heavy bank exposure to commercial real estate

Many banks cannot lend for commercial properties until they know where they stand with respect to their exposure to at-risk properties. A majority of banks will end up holding commercial property in 2010 that they had to foreclose or the owner could not refinance.

Banks are the majority holders of commercial real estate debt. Banks currently hold 60% of commerial real estate debt. A lot of that debt is coming due in 2010 and there is little available credit to refinance those loans through banks. A majority of the delinquent but still active CRE loans are in the construction and development sector, but the non-farm, non-residential CRE loans are rapidly increasing in their delinquencies as well.

Another strong factor is that commercial real estate vacancies are strongly tied to unemployment levels. As many forecasters are now calling for 12-13% unemployment rates, the impact on office and retail occupancy rates is clear. Lower occupancy rates equates to lower income to building owners which equates to missed and delinquent debt payments on their CRE mortgages.

Another clear factor is the impact of this long economic draught on CRE valuations. If you purchased a property 2 years ago for $2 million, you need to get a certain amount of income from your tenant in order to make the debt payment. With so much vacant space, incentives for tenants are driving down rent rates. This means your $2 million building can now only earn enough rent, for example, to cover 80% of the debt. So your challenge is to either eat 20% of your debt payment each month or negotiate with your bank to reduce the value of the property and the amount of your mortgage – called a loan modification. The bank then takes on the burden of writing off the reduction in the debt amount.

Of course, what happens if the bank doesn’t agree to modify your loan terms? You have a few, very unappealing choices. First, you could go back to paying the difference between your tenant income and your debt amount out of your own pocket. This could be a long term cash flow issue, so weigh this choice very carefully based on your lease terms. The second choice is to just stop paying the debt all together and walk away from the property. The bank forecloses and they end up owning the property at a reduced valuation anyhow. Not only does the bank write off your mortgage, they now own a building – which is usually the last thing a bank wants. They have neither the manpower nor knowledge to manage a commercial property long term.

This is exactly what happened to 2 deals I worked on this year. In one case, the owner executed a Deed In Lieu of Foreclosure to get out from under the property. In another case, the owner went to negotiate with the bank to do a loan modification and the bank took so long to decide, the tenant walked away and now there is absolutely no income stream and the owner has no choice but to walk away from the building.

I can’t pretend to know what will happen in the next 12 months, but based on my personal experience and from how I see banks handling their CRE customers right now, I believe the whole banking system is going to get much worse before it gets better. Banks are terrified to make decisions right now because they know the fed is watching every move they make. So they decide not to decide. Which allows the chips to fall where they may. Banks are not being ‘run’ right now as much as they are being allowed to crumble in place. We have hit a new record of more than 120 banks being closed and/or taken over by the gov’t in 2009. With so much exposure to commercial real estate debt and the lack of available credit to refinance maturing loans, banks are really in a pinch. The next 2 quarters are going to be quite revealing and could potentially drive significant change in the banking industry.

I have won! For the first time in my life I am a winner of money!! Ok, Ok let me explain. When I was a baby, my Grandfather gave me some British Premium Bonds. In England these bonds work like a lottery would. Every month people have the chance to win millions of pounds. Before you start looking for the reply button thinking that I am a new millionaire hold on a sec, breath.

I have only won £100, and my Mom £200 – not millionaires by any stretch of imaginations but winners all the same.

Wow what I would do with a £100 000 000; I think besides the usual – paying off bills, paying off the mortgage and going on holiday – I think that the best part of having a million pounds would be the peace of mind. Of course if I haven’t spent it all, but knowing that there is always going to be money and that we would never be short would be a wonderful thing.

Despite being super excited about this prize, I have to stop and look around me and remember that I am a winner already. Everyday I am a winner. I have won the best husband in the world; the best baby there could be; the use of my body and mind, as well as the knowledge that today is Friday and that means WEEKEND!

So, here is to being a winner again, and again and again!

I was just watching a part of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” with my wife. In my humble opinion one of the best films ever made – certainly one of the highlights of the 80’s. I hadn’t seen it in a few years so it was a real riot to see it again!

Ferris had to wait because I’ve been thinking on my last post and just had to get back and to the computer and flesh out this slight edge concept a little more for you. I know that this will change your life once you understand this – just like it changed mine.

The slight edge principle says that our lives are made up of the little decisions that we make up each – decisions that are compounded by time. In the case of my earlier post – I used the example of a penny that doubles every day. A penny isn’t very much, in fact, it’s pretty insignificant BUT through the miracle of compounding interest a penny can become millions of dollars.

In reality the little decisions that we make every day – compounded over time – yield the results that we have created and will create. It’s the little decisions – NOT the big ones – that are critical. For example if I choose to brush my teeth today I probably won’t have a cavity tomorrow. Brushing my teeth is very easy to do – it’s also easy not to do… If I choose to brush my teeth two to three times every day the slight edge principle says that my oral health is going to very good compared to someone who chooses to omit this simple discipline from their life.

Another example, what if I chose to eat an apple every day or an order of french fries. Now we’ve all heard the saying that an “apple a day keeps the doctor away”…. or is it “an order of french fries a day keeps the doctor away?”

Can you see the beneficial effects of an apple a day. How would this impact your life if you had an apple a day for 20 years …. 30 years… Can you see how this slight edge principle can work for you or against you. Success people have mastered the slight edge principle in their lives and have programmed themselves for success by creating daily disciplines that compounded over time create a rich and full life.

The slight edge and network marketing. Success in network marketing is all about the slight edge principle. If you want to be a successful network marketer you have to do the daily activities that will grow your business and eventually set you free. Just like the penny that doubled every day – by constantly putting in the effort every day – even though that effort may not seem like anything is happening – it will result in your eventual financial success.

Network Marketing is the ultimate vehicle for applying the slight edge concept. As you recruit people into your business and then also begin to recruit people… and they begin to recruit people … you will be free financially. This only happens when succesful network marketers commit to excellence and discipline themselves to do what must be done. The miracle of the slight edge principle makes it so anyone that will do the work and can have financial freedom in their lives.

As you might know I live in Belgium, a small country in the centre of Western Europe. For artists in the music industry this means you’ll probably won’t make it as easily as bands from bigger countries. But still, we have some great bands in Belgium altough not many of them are known outside of Belgium. That’s why Stubru, a belgian radio channel, presented the 50 best songs (voted by the public) made in Belgium in the last 10 years. And this is the top 11 from their Bel 2000:
