its 221am, i’m hungry… i’m sleepy…

and i’m having…

milo and cream crackers. why do they call them cream crackers anyway? they’re not in the least bit creamy? pppffft.

i’m actually so tired i could just put my head down on my laptop and fall asleep… but i don’t know, i feel as if i have things to finish… things that i can actually do in the morning. ben keeps telling me to be good and sleep early. but the earliest i’ve been getting to bed is 3am? this really needs to change… it’s as if i’m out partying everynight and sleeping only at 3am. sigh.

am i gonna get old like that? >_<

how can i sleep when i have half packed orders? in fact i just worked on a new batch of earstuds. i did photos of new ones earlier but i haven’t even gotten down to uploading them… wednesday is going to be crazy. i have to wake up, finish packing whatever orders i need to pack, finalise ECLECTICISM’S stocklist, print, pack up… maybe do more photos if the lighting doesn’t suck… have lunch, and after lunch i have to get ready to zip zip zip around town before going down to pasir ris to see ben at 7pm…

speaking of which, he asked me…”so what are you going to wear tomorrow?” i’m like huh… i mean really i’ve been so busy, do i actually have time to think about what i’m going to wear? great, now i feel like i have to think. i can’t just throw on a pair of denim shorts and be lazy… so i asked him what he wants me to wear… not like i ever get an answer to that question… then it becomes a case of “up to you, impress me”. and then he said… no need to be like woahhh so elegant, just nice and simple.

great, why do i still feel the need to WOW?

okay i have stuff to do, why am i even blogging. good night ya’ll. i’ll go finish my milo and hopefully i find it in me to abandon whatever i’m doing and get some much needed shut eye… long day and weekend ahead….

i will survive.

Real Branding – as i like to refer to it – Is really what my mind has been occupied with. Today I found a new man that I will probably keep an eye out for online:

twitter is such a magical platform to milk the minds of those you find interesting, without the negative connotations usually associated with being an information junkie – such as constant questioning, waiting for answers and explanations, or simple story telling of experience. I now find my answers in real time without bothering anyone on my phone.   # i am a trend and social media shopaholic.
So in my shopping bag today, I have a few random links I would like to keep in my snap store. Perhaps I have not yet connected the dots between them – but I think often the lines of relevance and interdependence comes during the exploration phase. If you look closely enough, everything is related, or at least in my 25 years of exploring various elements of the world as a whole, I have noticed – PEOPLE. BRANDS. TRENDS.  – WE. IT. THEY. – all connected.
So to me it seems evident that – WE NEED TO ALLOW TECHNOLOGY and THE INTERNET, TO ENABLE A CONNECTION TO OUR WORLD. NOT THE OPPOSITE.

Firstly, I just have to touch on Google Wave – just because I haven’t yet, and I think it will be silly to leave it off the list, as it fits so perfectly into the maze of connecting the dots.  This video is really what got me excited:

Secondly, I mentioned Paul Isakson earlier, and this presentation is  what made me realize that REAL branding, is not just a word I came up with (refer to some of my earlier posts) – it is a reality and hopefully -  we will be able to see local brands adopt the mindset, sooner rather than later.

I always find it most enlightening when what has been rolling around in my head, gets summarized and set out coherently by someone else, so that I can pass it on to the world in a less upside down manner.

Paul perfectly illustrates how things are changing. Our new generation of marketers and brand builders who got taught with open source platforms, unlimited access to information and the downfall of traditional media – soon realized – it is time to put people back inside the world of Branding. Similar to Business – global awareness of “triple bottom line and increased focus on corporate governance and sustainable business development”, puts people back inside the world of Business. Think of the increased focus on organizational structures and corporate cultures, Google as a prime example, puts people back inside the world of occupation and careers. And as Tom Friedman illustrated in the World is Flat, COUNTRIES – to – COMPANIES – to – INDIVIDUALS.
We are all connected. And we are all human.
This is what brings me to my last bit of trend shopping for the day. Sixth Sense Technology. Not only did I watch this video about ten times, I simply couldn’t stop myself from trying to imagine it in my own life, and the resulting consequences and impact on the way we live our lives, simply by connecting the dots.

I just had the most wonderful weekend with Sara, her husband Ryohei and their beautiful baby girl, Sakura.

It was over 2 months ago that I last saw them so it was great to finally be able to catch up with them in person. We try to talk to each other at least once a week on Skype but nothing beats sitting down with a cuppa and having a big old chinwag to one another. Having a friend that understands me so well and can relate to nearly everything I am feeling means the world to me. Having such great friends in Japan really makes my life a whole lot easier. And also, all the compliments I get from Ryohei about my cooking never ceases to make me smile!! I swear he definitely knows how to make a girl feel good about herself!

The best part of their trip down to Shizuoka was seeing how Sakura and Milo interacted. I have to admit I was a little bit worried about Milo with Sakura. Not because I thought she would attack the baby or anything but I was a little worried she would think Sakura was a slightly oversized toy… Surprisingly though, she seemed to naturally understand that she had to be calm while the baby was around. The worst thing Milo did (besides the one and only time she jumped on Sakura, who wasn’t affected by it at all anyway) was sniff her a lot and lick her toes!! Sakura seemed to enjoy the dog as well. She would always smile and coo if Milo was in sight. Seeing them together has definitely reduced the worry Naoki and I have had of bringing home Baby N in 5 months time.

Sara and Ryohei’s trip down to Shizuoka also showed me that Naoki isn’t actually as bad with babies as I thought he would be. The way he reacted when asked to hold Adele’s newborn last year made me believe that he wasn’t going to be so great with babies. But he managed to surprise me (he has the habit of doing that… I should give him more credit) and actually liked spending time with Sakura. He kept doing these really cheesy grins that made Sakura laugh every time!! It was kind of cute to watch them together!!

This photo was taken the first day they got to Shizuoka. Sakura was still a little unsure of both Naoki and I at the time…

This one was taken the next night and you can see that she is quite enjoying sitting her ‘uncle’ Naoki’s lap!

Sara brought down a huge box of Sakura’s hand-me-downs for Baby N. The majority of them are very pink and very girly so let’s just hope that Baby N hasn’t grown a willy by my next appointment. If the baby does end up being a boy though, I will just keep Sakura’s clothes in a box for when we do end up having a girl!! Doesn’t really matter either way Thank you so much Sara – I love them all and am so grateful to you for giving them to me!!

By the way, have you ever heard of the game, Taboo? We have it but hardly ever get the chance to play because one, it’s normally only the two of us, and two, when we do have people over they normally  can’t speak English so Taboo is always left in the box. Well on Saturday we got it out and the four of us played it. It was great!! So so much fun! Great game that guarantees a lot of laughs.

Sara, if you are reading this – thank you for a wonderful weekend. I am so grateful to you both for driving all the way down here to visit with Sakura. Having somebody to talk to you about stuff has really helped me see light at the end of the tunnel. We are definitely going to return the favour and come and visit you in the new year… if it kills me or I need to rob a bank !!

ในทางกลับกันไมโล Redesign Packaging ใหม่ แต่กลับนำสีเขียวซึ่งเป็นจุดเด่นอยู่แล้วนั้นออกไปเกือบครึ่งหนึ่งของ Pack ทั้งๆที่สีก็เป็นรองโอวัลตินอยู่แล้ว ผลที่ตามมาก็คือ เมื่อวางสินค้าบน Shelf ก็เลยเงียบเหงา ไม่ Shelf Impact เท่าโอวัลตินอย่างที่ควรจะเป็น น่าเสียดายแทน

Well, I am settling in to Wellington now the house is coming together, don’t think I have ever been so skint! so working hard trying to get my life together again. Milo has not been well and for several days was wondering if I was going to have to have him put down, how ever he’s recovered and is bad to near normal again. I am working on having one of my manuscripts changed in to script format, so see what happens there! But today I have been wandering around Wellington window shopping and meeting interesting people.

The weekends Logan goes to his dad, he drinks Milo, often.  I don’t mind buying Milo, I don’t mind making Logan Milo – the problem is, I quite like the taste of it, which means it wouldn’t last very long.

On Sunday while grocery shopping, the little boy spotted the Milo in the shop.  Needles to say, we left our local supermarket with Milo in hand.  From the moment we arrived home,  I was informed I needed to make the Milo like his Aunty K (dad’s girlfriend) – from all ingredients needed to perform such a task to the cup that is needed, pretty time-consuming!  Slight understatement – it was the topic of conversation for the whole afternoon.  After a little bribery I manage to have him eat his supper, bath and do the odd household chore – IN order for me to be able to make the Milo. 

Then I topped the if off by making the best Milo he has ever tasted – marshmallow on top, with an extra sprinkle of Milo powder!

Milo, Kida et leur équipe vont faire le tour du monde et devront affronter des personnages légendaires. Tout au long de ce voyage, Kida va découvrir le pouvoir du cristal atlante et devra décider s’il est bien sage de le partager avec le reste du monde…

Les énigmes de l’Atlantide est un téléfilm sorti directement sur le marché de la vidéo, faisant suite au film d’animation Atlantide, l’empire perdu, sorti en 2001. C’est en fait une compilation des trois premiers épisodes de la série TV qui devait sortir à la suite du film, mais qui a été abandonnée, le film n’ayant pas eu le succès escompté.

La limite entre les 3 histoires est malheureusement trop marquée, et font des énigmes de l’Atlantide un téléfilm bancal. Les trois histoires n’ont pas de rapport entre elles et n’ont pas assez de lien avec le thème de l’Atlantide. Les scénaristes ont tenté de lier les trois épisodes par une introduction, des transitions et une conclusion, mais ces artifices ne trompent pas le spectateur.

L’animation est exécrable: elle était au départ conçue pour la télévision et non comme une suite “Direct-to-video” ou une suite pour le cinéma. Le dessin et les décors sont cependant soignés.

Au niveau du scénario, les trois histoires sont bonnes, mais n’ont plus de lien avec le film d’origine, ni avec le thème éponyme. Cependant, l’humour reste présent.

Les énigmes de l’Atlantide est donc un téléfilm inégal en raison des bizarreries qui entourent sa conception.

Last weekend Naoki and I went back to his parent’s house for the weekend. Normally Naoki’s mum infuriates me so much that I can’t enjoy myself in her company. But this weekend was a nice change from the norm and we actually spent a pleasant day at Tanuki Lake, near Mt Fuji with Tokio san (family friend). It would have to be my most favourite place in Japan – seriously.

I have been so many times it’s not funny – I bring everyone there!! Tanuki Lake, is obviously that, a lake but it is more than that. It has a wonderful walking track that goes the whole way around – you can even rent a bicycle and spend the day riding around the lake. It also sports big open spaces where you could easily play a game of some sort with the kids. We saw a few people camping there last weekend and I decided that it would be the perfect place for our next camping adventure – with Baby N in tow.

The whole purpose of this post isn’t actually about my weekend to the inlaws but more because I wanted to share my new favourite photo of Milo and I that Naoki snapped. I love it!!

Según una supuesta información que se filtró directamente de una reunión de picudos de Microsoft en donde comentaron que el Project Natal saldría al mercado en noviembre del 2010, con 15 juegos inicialmente y a un precio aproximado de 55 Euros [unos 1100 pesitos mexicanos].

También vieron la posibilidad de venderlo por separado o en un pack [comúnmente llamado bundle] obviamente el precio aumentaría.

Otra cosa que se rumora es que Se produzcan alrededor de 5 millones de unidades de Natal y que es probable que el precio de salida sea menor.

Al menos yo estoy un tanto escéptico a Project Natal, se ve que es una buena idea, tal vez sea porque yo soy un jugador acostumbrado a controles o palancas de arcades, será un cambio radical, esperemos ver como funciona.

Geralmente as pessoas pensam no fim de semana lá pela quinta feira, bom, não comigo… semana passada eu já tinha programado coisas desde quarta! E foi pesada essa semana que passou, tanto que eu não tinha nem tempo de postar aqui, só ficava vendo coisas e chorando de vontade de escrever! Enfim, pra resumir, quarta teve evento da Coca Cola, que escolheu uma banda pra tocar no Planeta Terra, e depois teve Milo. E o Sr Milo que me perdoe, mas eu não vou voltar lá TÃO cedo, a reforma só fez piorar o que já andava ruim. Quinta animamos um Vegas pra comemorar o aniversário da Isa, e denovo… Sr. Vegas, o que aconteceu com o Rock’afellas? Virou Playb’afellas? Ficamos 30 minutos no máximo e descemos pro Inferno, e como nem criamos expectativas, tava tudo certo!

Sexta, aí sim,  segura! Teve 4e20Mixtape, na Sutra, e foi incrível. E eu nem falo isso por que fui hostess, ou porque sou amiga dos meninos. Mas bombou bonito, som maravilhoso, bebidinhas, gente bonita, só vi sorrisos, inclusive o meu! Dancei como se não houvesse Planeta Terra no dia seguinte.

MAS HAVIA! E lá fui eu me acabar! Quem inventou festival num parque de diversões merece ganhar muito amor, deu pra ver Copacabana Club, Ting Tings, Primal Scream, Iggy e N.A.S.A.. Choveu bastante, mas valeu a pena ficar escondidinha e ver o Rodrigo Santoro alegrão na fila da montanha russa(fã dele feelings hahaha).

E domingo, fechando enfim essa maratona que só Jesus na minha vida, teve o Maquinaria, com mucha chuva no único show que eu fazia questão de ver… Panic! é demais, mesmo com chuva, e com sono, e com fome!

Agora estou aqui, meio vegetativa, prometendo que essa semana vou ficar quietinha! Pelo menos até sexta! Aí as Crews!

I went to a coffee tasting this morning on an empty stomach and am now suffering from a bit of a headache. I tried to cure it with smoothies, water and my favorite omelette, but it only soothed it a bit. Maybe a cinnamon roll and lots more water will help?

Here are some socks I was working on for a while and then sort of abandoned for a lace shawl. They’re in no real danger at the moment, they’ve just been put on the back burner. I can’t really go to school full time and work on two simultaneous knitting projects. Well I could, but then I would be sacrificing precious beauty sleep.

(Here’s a note to myself for when I pick these back up again: you’re increasing two stitches every other row in the back between the pattern repeats so you can eventually fit that other cable in there). As for what I mean by that, I’ll show you when they’re done.
